These people are amazing. I moved to Midlothian in 2019. I have had various things I needed to repair on from time to time. Dave's Appliance is the spot I will always pick. They are a great bunch of people. Kyle recently came out to fix my dryer along with my broiler that just happened to go out, but upon arrival my daughter had started using our oven and he could not look at it. He told me not a problem. I will take care of the dryer and he did in a very timely manner and was on his way and said I could just call and make another appointment and it will still be addressed on the same ticket. They service every community north of Burnham, including Blue Island, Oak Lawn, Palos Heights, Palos Hills, Alsip, excluding strangely anything with an Chicago address, such as Hegewisch, Pullman, Auburn Gresham, anything. I originally became acquainted with this company when they replaced my hot water heater in 2017. In 2020 when the hot water heater was damaged due to water in the basement, I contacted them again and was charged closer$800 for: installing a part on the hot water heater, replacing a part of a duct, and installing an ejector pump. Three years later, 2023 the ejector pump failed. I contacted Dave's Appluance and was told they did not handle ejector pumps. I reminded him that they installed an Ejector pump for $575 in January 2020. Dave then advised me to reach out to another plumbing company. because the warranty on the ejector pump had expired, and that their company did not handle ejector pumps any longer. I contacted another plumber who came out, opened the pit where the injector pump was installed, and informed me that an ejector pump had not been installed, but a low quality SUMP PUMP had been installed instead! What a nasty and unpleasant surprise, In the world climate we live in today is very hard to trust any contractor as they've all been given a negative reputation because of so many unscrupulous, lowdown and nefarious contractors such as this one. The blessing in this awful story is that it is my understanding this owner has retired, and his business has moved elsewhere. read more

My Whirlpool gas stove of 2007 vintage stopped working ... the burners not at all, the oven off and on and not reliably. Having used their service a number of years ago, I called Dave's, and they set up an appointment for a technician to come out for a look. Joe arrived on time and was personable and professional. He assessed the problem and slotted me in for a return visit as early as possible with the necessary part, a new spark board. He returned on Saturday, finished efficiently, and couldn't have been nicer. I felt the price was fair. I would not hesitate to call Dave's in the future for appliance repair. It felt good to repair rather than replace, and cost a lot less. read more

I had a problem with the freezer on my General Electric refrigerator. I called Dave's Appliance and set up an appointment. I was told my appointment was for Monday morning between 8 and 1, and that someone would call me prior to coming out. At just before 9:00, I received a call from Joe telling me he was on his way and would be at my home in 15 to 20 minutes. Both the visit and the call came as promised, which always isn't the case. Joe arrived with his mask on, wiping his shoes on the mat so he "wouldn't track up my floor". I told him what was happening and he immediately began to work. He had the problem diagnosed within 15 minutes, happily answering all of my question. He told me the coolant was low and went back out to his vehicle to bring in a canister of it. He added what was needed. He was in and out in 30 to 40 minutes. He was polite, had over 20 years experience so very knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. I found the price to be very reasonable. I would/will absolutely use them again. I am grateful to Dave's Appliances and to Joe for handling my problem quickly, correctly and again at a reasonable price. Thanks. read more

I was in desperate need of Appliance Repair service for my tenant's oven as the pilot was having problems relighting. The timing was horrible as Thanksgiving was approaching I had a previous appliance repair guy found on Thumbtack that was saying a part (not the pilot) had went out and needed to be replaced and would run $250. Then he supposedly needed to come back and look at the oven again and never heard back from him. I had enough of that poor service and found Dave's Appliance Repair on Yelp. They were able to send someone out in a matter of a few days and the service tech was able to relight the pilot in an hour's time. I used Dave for everything for years that needed repairs in my home & gave him so much business as I was always asked by my clients when they needed an appliance repair I would recommend Dave! But when my Kitchen Aid refrigerator wouldn't make ice or water he sent out a different guy, it wasn't Dave, I can't remember his name since it's been awhile, he was Spanish, he told me my whole front panel ( push button) part was bad, never even put the screws back in where he worked on it, and told me to complain to kitchen aid which didn't get me anywhere, they said because I went with my own repair man that they couldn't help me, months go by & I was cleaning the front panel & as I was wiping it down water started coming out, I got all excited & called Dave's to come back out, left several messages that it was misdiagnosed & to please come back to fix the ice machine now that the water is working & ive been completely ignored & wont even call me back I'm guessing because I said it was misdiagnosed & he doesn't want to make a service call without getting paid, even tho I have a microwave that I said needs a part & I would have paid for another service call!! Now I will be calling someone else for my future repairs, what a shame to not stand by your work & at least return a loyal customers phone calls!! read more

Terrible service. Serviceman was supposed to come between a 2 hour window, 2 1/2 hours later, no show - no call. I called the office, they called him and he said he would be at least another 30-40 minutes. I only found this out because I called their office. I had to reschedule. Needed washing machine fixed, repairman fixed it and it was $180. However, that did not fix the problem so when he came back he said it needed a new circuit board which would be an additional $200. In this case, it would've made more sense to buy a new washing machine. Needless to say I'm out $180 and still have a broken washing machine. Would not recommend to anyone. read more
