Not true, at all, as presented on my recent phone conversation with details stated below. As a first-time customer, I called to setup an appointment for air duct cleaning for my home residence. A gruff man answered the phone in a very unfriendly manner with just the word "Midwest". (No "Hello", no "How can I help you?"). I asked for his name and he coldly replied, "Midwest". I asked him again, "Do you have a name?" and his cold and unfriendly reply was, "Yeah, who's this?". Wow... Part of running a business is to greet customers/callers with friendly, cordial and courteous manners, especially with first-time customers. Because my home residence is located in Hammond, we wanted to help support a Hammond business, which is one of the reasons why I called this business. What adds to the complete distrust, unreliablity and discreditability are the following: *Company also has 2 different addresses listed [174th Street in Hammond, IN (no number address) and principal address has 7143 Tapper Avenue in Hammond, IN 46324]. *Two different phone numbers listed, ["219-671-8868" is the current number I was able to use, (per the Google lookup), and "219-627-2885"]. *Their listed website shown on their Facebook accunt shows as "www.midwestairductcleaning.com", yet, in fact, it is not a registered website, as that domain is available to purchase. Unfortunately, because of this man's lack of cordialness and proper phone etiquettes towards me on the phone, the man presented himself in showing no interest in treating a customer with respect, which in turns, tells me his company he represents does not care about the customer. With that being said, it conveys the message that this company will not accomplish the cleaning for my residence with care, as well. I cannot trust this company to treat me and my home with care, once they have entered my home. That ruined the trust I needed to have upfront. First impressions is everything. I've now discovered when they installed the boiler, they cut wires to the air conditioning and didn't even connect the wires to the new thermostat they installed. I did witness their workers go into the attic, and can also attest their workers are shady and untrained. The company's response below is proof they are dishonest and attempting to cover up their mistake as I have photographic evidence and even their own tech was perplexed by his co-worker's negligence and admitted they messed up. He then attempted to blame a company that never even touched the thermostat (the thermostat literally has Polar's name and phone number on it as they were the one's who installed it and the last one's to touch it) or air handler to get Polar off the hook. Their OWN TECH admitted they cut the wires to the ac when he opened the thermostat! DO NOT trust this company - everything they say is a lie. They're now incommunicado and refuse to rectify the situation or so much as place a simple phone call to discuss the matter. I've filed a formal complaint with the BBB and will be initiating a lawsuit if they don't fix the situation. They've left me with no heat in the winter and no a/c in the summer. The true colors of this company are shown by the fact they'd rather argue on websites with a customer who just spent over $10k with their company, and was extremely patient while they tried to figure out how to do something as basic as install a boiler (seems like this was the first time they've ever installed a boiler), than own up to their mistake and rectify the situation or even place a phone call to discuss like adults. I've taken a year to write this review; to really reflect on everything this company has done…read moreadequately but also more importantly, what they have taken from me. I'll try not to belabor the points I have issue with as I think two stars are exceedingly generous of me in light of everything, but hope to provide anyone thinking of contracting with this company with an experience to think about. I reached out to Servpro regarding a kitchen sink flood/water damage. The event happened in April 2023, and I wasn't able to move back into my home until November 2023. This almost 8 month ordeal was due (not entirely, but in large part) to Servpro. RE water mitigation: this portion of service was generally fine, and the only reason there is a second star on this review. There were long delays in communication, incomplete work that required the mitigation team to return, and shifting contact points as people "left the office," but Jesús, Carlos, and Sean were generally easy to work with and completed tasks quickly one issues were identified. RE restoration: this is where I would recommend you steer clear and avoid using this company for restoration work, especially if Chris J is the supervising contact point. My experience with the restoration team was abysmal - again the same song and dance with infrequent communication, last minute changing deadlines or just not meeting the set goals, and sometimes outright lying. Until the point at which Servpro's representative, Chris J, quit the project suddenly as work was beginning; for which he cited that the project was not aligned with company policies despite the fact that for 2 months he had been aware of the nuances of this project and made not a peep about the project being beyond the company's scope. Now, I will say that Servpro agreed to not charge me/my insurance for the extended storage fees incurred because I had to find new contractors once they packed up my household items in storage and quit the project. But even achieving that took many extended phone calls on my part, and was not something offered by the company knowing they were in the wrong here. After multiple missteps by Servpro, I will admit that towards the end of my time in communication with them I was often abruptly assertive and without much empathy when trying to fix what they had gotten wrong. But while Servpro did not cause the flood in my kitchen, nor were they entirely to blame for the extended timeline on this project, they undoubtedly were a large contributor to my extended monetary cost, mental stress and exhaustion, and the diminished quality of life I experienced by making the unfortunate choice is asking them for help.

I was using my home warranty program, so JL Mechanical was assigned to me as their vendor. I had a new furnace installed and JL Mechanical kept me updated with the date of service plus text messages to remind me and give me a link to track my installation team members. They also email you a snapshot of those who will be doing the installation work. Robert was my guy and he was intelligent, patient, friendly, and answered all my questions. In fact, I've had repairs and installations done in my house before but the entire work area and my house was completely CLEANED UP when they were done. (I can't say the same about Comcast when they drill a hole in your wall) Everything is working great - it's been a few days now and I have HEAT - in fact, the new furnace is even quieter than the previous one and I can't even tell it's running.
