I called twice before my appointment to make sure that the tires I ordered were shipped to the store and was placed on hold twice and disconnected both times. (Yes this was a sign of what to expect) I show up 20 minutes early and they have my name spelled wrong for my appointment, service guy at the counter claims it's how I put it into the computer, nope I have the confirmation email with the correct spelling. They finally take my vehicle in 45 minutes after my appointment time and then 20 minutes later advise me that the tires ordered were the wrong size for my vehicle, again I have a confirmation email. This place is operated by a complete idiot and blames the customer when the customer has a confirmation email with the correct spelling and tire size. I took my Prius in and Dan really impressed me, Dan knows his Toyotas like the back of his hand and he is so passionate about what he does. Dan takes pride in his work and does VERY thorough job. He educated me on why he had his recommendations and took pictures and showed me how dirty my fluids and filters were. He will educate you on how to keep your car running well long term. I spoke with Marc, and his energy and enthusiasm about taking care of my car were almost contagious. I came in for an oil change and told them I probably needed brakes on both axles. Based on the mileage and owner's manual, I thought the brake fluid might be due as well. A short while later Marc called. Oil change done. Brakes? Plenty of life left. Brake fluid? They chemically tested it--and the other fluids--using vials and color scales almost like a pool test kit. Everything tested good. That told me immediately what kind of shop I had found. They weren't looking for work to add. They were finding out what my car actually needed. They photographed my engine and cabin filters so I could see them myself. Marc said the engine filter still had life left, but with Central Valley air quality, he recommended the cabin filter. I chose to replace both. I asked if the new cabin filter would eliminate the mysterious midnight smells of Tulare. We agreed there probably isn't a filter powerful enough for that. Then Marc floored me with how well he knew my particular model. He explained what services I could expect at different mileages based on the car and how I drive it. I'm a car nut. I read the books. I watch the videos. I thought I knew my car. **I left Kolben knowing more about it than when I arrived.** There was never any pressure. I knew what they found, what could wait, what they recommended and why. I was always in control. And maybe the highest compliment I can give them: **I would be completely comfortable sending my wife there alone with the car.** She isn't a car nut, but I trust that she would receive exactly the same honesty, respect and straightforward advice I did. I can't say enough good things about these guys! I brought my truck in after constantly having…read moreproblems with my front differential. Every time I'd take it out to the dunes and drive through the sand to get my camper where I wanted it, the front differential would end up cracking or failing. Brett and Kev took the time to diagnose the real issue and came up with a permanent solution. They fabricated a custom bracket to reinforce the front differential, making it much stronger, and also re-geared both the front and rear differentials. I was honestly a little hesitant at first because I'd had so many failures in the past, but after taking it back out to the dunes and putting it through some hard driving in the sand, it performed flawlessly. The difference is incredible. My truck feels stronger, more capable, and gives me the confidence to drive it the way I always wanted to.
