The hot subs are REALLY good, and oddly MUCH better than the cold subs. The menu is huge (look online, or on the printed menu, as the boards don't list it all) and the attention to details (drinks, chips, toppings) really seals the deal on a great meal. But seriously, get your sub hot - the shredded cheese is a terrible cheese for a cold sub and should be avoided. I will be back many times.

The #1 Original, I added light hot peppers, so yummy!

The subs are amazing, lots of meat and generous portions. My husband thought the sub was small but started eating it and was full halfway through. Definitely get the cosmic sauce, it's so good! The guys were friendly and everything was as ordered. We will be back!!!

This place is SO good! Used to have one in Perrysburg and my family missed it so much. It did not disappoint!!

I don't remember the exact name of this I think it was something with hot chicken but it was really good and everyone here is so nice

Food was great definitely a different take on a sub, I'm a fan of the Dave sauce and Dave's drinks.

I was out there the other day and made a mental note to remember it and alas, went for lunch today. I had the Betty's salad with a fried bologna sandwich combo. With a small fountain drink, it was $12 bucks and change. GREAT DEAL! The salad had fresh spinach, bacon, egg, lots of bean sprouts, onion, all the good things Betty's salad should have. The Betty's dressing was great too. The fried bologna... OK, not exactly gourmet, but definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. If this sandwich is on the menu, I have to try it! Their version of this is really great. Your choice of bread (sour dough, white, rye, wheat, etc). It comes with lots of bologna and cheese with your choice of toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc). Not as great as G & R Tavern in Waldo (seriously, fried bologna or sandwich spread lovers - you need to go), but a very generous, well-made sandwich. This will probably be my go-to every time I go back. The place is clean, the portions are generous, and the food is really good. Looking forward to return visits!

What a variety of freshly made salads and usually at least 6 or more soups to choose from. This casual spot fills up at lunchtime, many people catching a bite to eat from nearby St Charles. I love the tuna noodle salad and the broccoli the best. Oh they also have sandwiches. But the salads are the bomb!

Looking for Japanese fried chicken (Karaage) in Downtown Toledo at 11:30 pm? THIS is where you'll find it. And it's good. Japanese fried chicken is a lot like American fried chicken, but the batter is a little different. The dipping sauces are similar to American sauces, but, they are a little different. Different is good. You can get said chicken in the form of wings, chunks, 1/2 a bird, or, in a donburi bowl. The menu also has some American (fries, coleslaw) and Asian (kimchi, edamame) sides. Mochi for dessert? You bet. Drinks? Pop, beer, etc, and sake! Service? The service was very friendly, fast, and accurate. Tommy and Sam run the place when the Main Man is elsewhere. They do a great job overseeing the service and the cooking. The atmosphere is similar to Kengo's other places on the same street. Intimate with bare brick walls. Seating is designed more for quick service and higher throughput. There are a few tables, but most people sit at one of two bars. Great music (Beastie boys and Tupac playing overhead, but not too loud). 4 stars for the food, and one more for being open late! 5 stars!

Today, I tried something else that I unfortunately didn't love, so I'm rating it 4 stars. Today, I didn't place my to-go order ahead of time and instead walked in and sat at the counter and sipped on a diet pepsi while I waited. I would describe the decor as cozy, rustic farmhouse chic, with lots of pictures of pigs. I had time to take pics while I waited for my order. I stopped in a bit later than the usual lunch rush, so there was literally no one dining in. A couple of people came in to pick up their carryout orders. The server was very friendly and down to earth. I ordered the pepper smoked turkey sandwich based on some reviews that raved about it. Rather than chips or fries, I opted to upgrade to a slaw for $2 more. I couldn't wait to get back to the office and try the food. Before digging in, I took photos because everything looked delicious. The meal was top notch quality. The turkey was thickly sliced with artisan lettuce and a garlic aioli sauce, plus cheddar cheese. The bread was a tasty sour dough. I ordered it without onions because I didn't want onion breath. Despite the high quality ingredients, it somehow wasn't amazing. It was very good but I didn't taste the pepper flavor on the turkey. The slaw was a nice mixture of kale, cabbage and carrots. For my taste, the cream sauce was on the sweet side, whereas my preference is less sweet and more tangy. Nevertheless, the ingredients were very fresh. As I reached the bottom of the bowl, however, there was a lot of runny cream sauce. Again, my personal preference is for less cream; someone else might love it. I know it seems like I am being overly picky, but I should mention that the total cost of my lunch (before tip) was $18.75 (sandwich, slaw and diet pepsi that was a fountain drink with mostly ice). Yes, everything is expensive these days, but I couldn't help being disappointed. I would absolutely return and order the Turkey Reuben in a heartbeat but wouldn't order the pepper turkey sandwich, slaw or soda. I'd also recommend dining in the adorable restaurant rather than eating at an office desk with plastic utensils!
