Decent patio. Confusing menu. Food was kind of odd, which is a shame because it's basically the only option around for healthy. I had a spicy poke bowl which just sort of tasted unmixed. Other reviews mention a guy with bushy hair providing bad service and that was my experience. He was gruff, kind of pushy, and had a airpod in the whole time. The Tri Tip Steakhouse Bowl (limited time addition to the menu) it was amazing. I substituted the regular potatoes for sweet potatoes (best decision). I also used balsamic vinaigrette instead of the suggested ranch. It was so good I got this bowl for lunch and dinner on the same day. I also ordered the Berry Smoothie to drink. It was so refreshing. I definitely recommend adding this or any of their smoothies to your order when you visit. Service is always fast and friendly. Core Life tends to be pretty quiet so it's perfect for a work lunch or just a peaceful gathering. Always fresh delicious ingredients. I never know what to order but when I'm craving veggies and crunch this is where I go. Cobb Salad is great I got mine mixed. Steak Salad is also good as are any of the bowls. I need to try a wrap. Service seems more interested in each other than explaining. So many tables and seats but I have never seen it full. read more

I always want to love this place, but ehhh it's just ok. The dining area is huge and they have a large outdoor patio, but there is never anyone there when I go. Someone could also spend a few minutes dusting the ledge behind the booths. The food is good, but nothing I ever crave and I love a good salad. The service is fine, nothing spectacular. They have a bunch of fancy expensive drinks to go with their overpriced food. Forget about getting any kind of soda. It's all hibiscus teas and green slurries. So this was surprisingly good! I never heard of this restaurant and think it's name sounds dumb, so I avoided it. Finally looked at the menu and it's healthy bowls (rice, salad, or broth like pho) with plenty of protein and veggie options. I got the chicken tinga and it was surprisingly spicy (lots of sauce). Full disclosure, I went into this place assuming I'd hate it. I don't like kale or quinoa, and assumed it was going to be just bowls of flavorless grass. I was.... Pleasantly surprised! There were tons of options, and all of them sounded pretty dang good! I ordered the Tuna Poke bowl, it was really tasty, and also a side of roasted Brussels sprouts because I can never say no to them. The whole meal was really, really wonderful. My only complaint is their drink selection. They do not serve soda, so it's going to be lots of lemonades, teas, beet drinks..... I'm healthy but I'm not beet juice healthy. I got a salad bowl last week as a birthday treat. I was treated well as always. I used to get salads there frequently but gradually stopped, not sure any more as to why. One thing I could always count on was that 10% of the steak was inedible being full of gristle and fat. This experience was totally different. I got an old favorite salad 'Steak Bacon and Bleu'. It was fantastic, all the flavors went together synergistically. I saw the fellow cutting my steak, he removed the fat off one side. It was so much higher quality than they used to serve. The menu is not terribly accessible if you're unfamiliar with the set up (e.g., there's a section that just says "make your own" with 2 bases -- no indication what you are making your own of, and what is considered a base; also, there are pictures of food walking in that I couldn't locate on the menu). I asked a few questions, but didn't get much direction. Meanwhile, the counter person, a young man, had long bushy hair that was not contained under a hat, and was prepping food and taking money without washing hands in between. A disappointing experience . Service is abysmal. Lunch was a disaster! Line moved at snail pace. The place was entirely up for grabs. Grab and go beverage cooler was not working so all bottled beverage offerings were warm. The ice machine was also in disrepair! The concept is flawed and the flow of the line for food , needs a revamp. On a scale of 1-10 food quality and flavor was a 6. At this time I find it difficult to recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was around the area and was looking for a salad. So happy I found this on yelp. Facility is clean and organized. I made a custom salad and i love that they have your typical greens - spinach, spring mix, kale and arugula. As I was adding my toppings, I noticed they had kimchee, this made my salad taste even more flavorful which I really enjoyed. I'm a soup and salad gal and was so pleased they had broth. I usually like to just drink the soup and not eat any of the veggies/proteins. I love that they sell broth for soup drinkers like me. I had to knock off one star because i do agree with one of the reviews regarding adding a premium topping. I added avocado to my salad but it seemed like it was 1/4 avocado which wasn't much. Despite the "premium side" not being so premium, I really enjoyed my salad and broth. I will definitely return to this location and recommend. I also love that they have utensils for dining in and try to limit their single use plastic. They also use paper bags instead of plastic which is awesome as well. If you are looking for a healthier option on a road trip, get off the Ohio turnpike in Maumee and check-out CoreLife Eatery. I believe that this is a chain/franchise business but it's a great alternative to many of the other choices which offer only high calorie, high sodium and not very inventive choices. CoreLife offers a make-your-own bowl starting with a base of greens or a grain and a variety of veggie/salad toppings and dressings or sauce. We were very pleased to have a healthy meal on the road and we enjoyed the outside seating. I hope to see more CoreLife's in the future. read more

Visited CoreLife Eatery on a business trip to Toledo with colleagues. It was within walking distance of our hotel. It is a healthy fast food option with lots of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. I got the build your own bowl with chicken, rice noodles, carrots, cucumbers, ginger, and mushrooms steamed with miso sesame sauce. It was pretty good. My colleagues got their meals with the bone broth instead. I think I would have preferred the broth over the dressing. But still pretty good. They have an awesome selection of unique flavored lemonades and green teas. I got the honey ginger lemonade. It had a pretty strong ginger taste. I ended up mixing the honey ginger with the regular lemonade and it was perfect. So refreshing! It was a great light meal. I would go again, if in the area. read more

Came here under recommendation from my boss, who was ecstatic about her visit during the invite only soft-opening. So suffice it to say, the expectations and hype were rather large. That said, I'm no rookie when it comes to Phó style soups and their cousins, so let's just say, it wasn't as phenomenal as I was led to believe. CoreLife is the type of place where you can easily see and picture your healthy friends and family visiting. The type of establishment where that one fried who runs marathons regularly, will invite you to. The place where that one vegetarian group you have actually likes. It's a great neutral Switzerland zone, where there is enough to satisfy the carnivores and the herbivores. The two biggest protein choices being grass-fed steak and grilled chicken. Veggie protein would mainly be the ahí tuna option. Out if the proteins, I've heard the tuna is really good, but for me, the chicken flavor and grill marks made it taste much more than the Steak. Now, if you are not familiar with how these types of "make your own bowl" places work, it might be wise to take a menu at the line entrance and patiently select. If it helps, there are also big boards along the lineup wall that describe the many steps to building your bowl. The main choices being soup, salad, or a grain bowl. I ordered the chicken broth soup, double deluxe protein (two servings), with one of those servings being steak and the other chicken. Inside the soup, comes varied veggies that are replaceable (mine being: spinach, carrots, scallions, kale), rice noodles (spicy optional), and the very good homemade style broth. The big DOWNSIDE arises in the simple innocent fact that, IT WILL NOT FILL YOU UP. I don't know what your diet and appetite demand, but I need much more than one big bowl of tasty, warm soup or salad to fill me up. I'm a big boy, now, haha. Regardless, I was very pleased with the service and flavor of my order, I just was not filled up... So I went next door to Tony Packos, as well. The service was very fast, attentive, and willing to breakdown their functionality and options. You want to switch something out? Go ahead. You don't know what that green is? They'll tell you, kindly. From what I've been told, the service and staff of this Maumee location are much kinder and attentive than that of the previous Toledo only one. Seating is very open, and there's a modern minimalist aesthetic to it. It's spacious and sort of open air. I heard it was packed during the soft opening, but on my second day open visit, it was busy but not crowded at all. The highlight of the visit for me, was the vast variation of lemonade drinks they had. There were about 6 or 7 options for lemonade, with the best being the original freshly squeezed and the apple cider. I tried every single version, and I loved them all, even the beet lemonade. It's similar to how Panera has those great teas, but in this case, lemonade. Lastly, the bathrooms are clean, for now. They are single bathrooms for men and women respectively, the prior with a toilet and a urinal. The indoor air was fresh/cool temperature wise. In general, I liked my order, but seeing how it did not fill me up, I don't know if I'm urging to come back. It's healthy and very tasty, but minimal. I do think that it would be beneficial for them to invest in another cash register or two. The line moved quickly, and there were quite a lot of people for each step of your bowl (unneeded to have a person per step in my opinion, double up for speed), but when it got to the register, it slowed down to a halt. Furthermore, I do think that for now, they should have one representative to greet and explain the bowl creation steps for opening week. I finally got around to trying Core Life Eatery, specifically the Maumee location. I wish I hadn't waited so long! The food was fabulous - I had the grass fed steak plate which came with chimchury sauce and a beet lemonade(because everyone raves about it). My meal cost $14.91, which seemed a bit high, so I called it dinner. My only issue is that the staff was not overly friendly. It was the middle of the day so I'm going to assume they were tired. I love tgae fact that the food is healthy, and taste r really good. However, the customer service is terrible! When I arrived to the Maumee location I was not greeted. There was a woman in front of me who was indecisive about what she wanted to order instead of being acknowledged by the staff stating it will be one minute I was ignored without acknowledgement. Finally when I ordered my meal and get up to the register the staff seemed really unorganized with only two girls working the front one was the one working and the other was just standing there when I asked can I get a fork for my meal she literally threw it at me turned and walked away. The only minor thing I could nitpick on is that if we're paying extra for premium toppings, we should be able to discern them in our salad etc. I ordered bacon last time and I think I got maybe 4 bits. My husband and I just love Corelife. We treat ourselves once a week to the ginger sriacha green bowl with extra tofu. Its delicious! We would typically go to the one on Monroe St in Toledo, but they closed that location temporarily due to the pandemic. So we decided to drive across town to the Maumee location. We were super stoked to not have to cook for the first day since March 13. You see my husband and I work together at a restaurant in Perrysburg, and we got laid off that day. We waited 6 weeks to get paid our unemployment, and we chose Corelife to be our first "dinner out" We had to place our order online then go inside to pick it, to minimize contact. I walked in and was greeted warmly by the young lady that was preparing my food. She told me it would just be a minute. Told her no problem. I showed up 4 mins before the ETA I was given. She finished my salads and handed me my bag. I put a tip in their tip jar, then did a once over inside the bag. Just then some other girl employee rounds the corner from the back with a mouth full of food. I asked if I could have the bread that I had ordered online. This new girl just says "we don't do bread." I just told her "oh I'm sorry I had ordered it so I didn't know." Then I noticed my 2 sides of sprouts I ordered and paid extra for weren't in there. So I politely asked for them. Then.....I noticed that the double order of tofu that I also paid extra for wasn't on the salad. So I asked the new, not so polite, girl for the extra sides of tofu. Her reply "we changed our portion size." At this point I felt uncomfortable because I had to ask them for so many things. So I picked my bag up, thanked them, and left. So the whole thing that is a bummer about this experience is that we're both unemployed, just got paid, chose Corelife, and literally had the most awkward, uncomfortable, unprofessional experience. I really hate to leave bad reviews but I have to here. Due to extensive safety concerns, I recommend that everyone avoid this restaurant, even for take out-pick-up. My biggest concern here is safety. No staff members were wearing masks or other protective equipment and were visibly breathing and respirating over the food. Especially in times of global health threats like the one we're in, this is absolutely unacceptable. On top of that, service was incredibly slow and they were out of many ingredients. That said, even after the wait, my family ultimately threw out our good because we did not feel safe eating it. read more
