Shaved steak Benedict with melt in your mouth hollandaise

Are you ready for a great home cooked breakfast?? 1st visit to this clean and welcoming diner, we sat at the breakfast bar and received attentive and fun service from Paula! We ordered the homemade quiche and shaved steak Benedict both were showstoppers! Followed up with a delicious sampling of made with love desserts, grape nut pudding, lemon meringue pie and super light coconut cream!! The grape nut pudding brought me back to my childhood. The clientele were regulars and greeted by name. Fantastic neighborhood place for breakfast!!!

This great diner has a lot of seating and was surprisingly busy. It's worth visiting just to smell the French fry grease. The pancakes are seriously generous. If you are looking for fluffy this isn't it. These are like the pancakes you eat before a hard day of logging. The service is friendly and fast. You won't break the bank eating here either. Stop by if you like diners and small town life.

After being up all night smelt fishing, we needed coffee and breakfast. We passed Dave's Diner on our way home. The parking lot was nearly full so we figured that was a good sign. Several.patrons inside seems to he regulars as the waitstaff greeted them by name. Typical diner - with booths, tables and a counter to sit at, nothing fancy. Simple menu with the basic fare for breakfast; the prices are very reasonable! I ordered the corned beef has& with 2 eggs and toast ($5.99) and the server did say it was canned hash FYI. My partner got a special - 2 eggs, 2 sausages and 2 biscuits with gravy and it was a huge portion, esp for the price ($7). The biscuits were a bit dry but the gravy was good. Our server was friendly, attentive and our food came out very quickly. Overall, Average food. Friendly staff. Cheap eats.

Amazing cinnamon roll! Hard to tell from the photo but it's HUGE!

Great breakfast place! Food and service both great. The only thing preventing a five star review is the wait for tables. I do t mind d waiting but they don't keep a list and you have to stand up against the wall while you wait and try to stay out of the way of the staff and other customers. The sausage patties are great and the cinnamon roll was huge and delicious!

American cuisine in a typical New England diner. Plain surroundings but great food at bargain prices. Staff and regular clients are friendly. Scrambled eggs were light and fluffy (your choice of style). Bacon was nicely done (soft or crispy, your choice). French toast was nice and eggy (you can have pancakes instead). Home fries were nicely cooked (you can have pan or deep fried, or hash browns). Coffee was top notch.

Stopped here for dinner on our way back from visiting Bangor and Augusta. They only open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays. I like to visit diners while visiting new cities. All of the servers here at Dave's were very welcoming, friendly and attentive! My husband and I ordered a cup of fish chowder, Grilled Haddock and Country Fried Steak. The Haddock and Country Fried Steak were just ok. The soup lacked taste with a watery consistency. However, their cole slaw was tasty. I'll rate this diner with 3 stars for the staff! Maybe the breakfast foods are better ...

We stopped in on our way south to Portland, after picking the place on a random whim. No regrets! Service was fast, friendly, the food was decent and it was cheap! McDonalds would not have been much cheaper.

Food is mediocre, service takes forever. But does have a friendly ambience and good prices. I'd recommend it for a hangover breakfast.

An old rail car sitting on the corner. It is a small and unassuming spot. You step in and it is a very tiny place. Your typical diner set up. Counter seating and booths opposite them. And the window to get the food from the kitchen. They don't have a gluten free menu, but they are well aware of small changes they can make or take away to fit the dietary needs. I went with the South of the Border Burger. No bun, pepperjack cheese and chili. They all blended together so well. The slight spice of the chili and cheese was a great topping mixture for the beef patty. The fries were right in the middle of crispy and soft. The North of the border burger was, "very tasty. Awesome flavor!" Which is a good review from my Dad who isn't much for extra on details. My brother got the Korean BBQ sliders special (not on menu pictures provided). The flavors were awesome. Lucky the kimchi came on the side, my brother wasn't too keen on the fermented cabbage. My mom had the curried chicken wrap, no wrap. So the kitchen made it a salad for her. Sh loves salad and curry. So why not put them together for a dish she really loved. The staff were all extremely friendly. They seemed to know a lot of the patrons coming in. We had a fun time reminiscing about the Guy Fieri visit and other Maine celebrities that have stopped in. If I'm ever out this way again, I would love to come back. Excellent food. Excellent service. So firstly I would recommend showing up early or to expect a wait especially on weekends. Also related to this their space is quite small it can be a little chaotic with finding a spot to sit. Despite the small space they have made sure it is very beautifully designed and amazing vibes overall. Makes sense why it is so popular honestly. We snagged some of their outdoor seats and enjoyed the nice weather with our breakfast. They have a good mix of sweet and savory and talking to some others in line they said you honestly can't go wrong with anything on the menu. They have a great amount of coffee drink options too and when you order a large they are not lying, it is huge. I finished mine during breakfast but my wife and mother got theirs in a to-go cup before we left and looked like a normal sized large still. Food wise I felt like I had to try their Blueberry French Toast and it did not disappoint, great take on the dish. Only real complaint I could say is I would prefer a little thinner slice of bread so it can soak a little better but no real complaints. My wife got the Librarian Omelette (minus mushrooms) and it was large and jam full, they did not skimp on ingredients. Her only real complaint was some bacon was thicker than she prefers but again minimal. If you are looking for a spot to grab some delicious breakfast and/or coffee in central Maine this should be near the top of your list. From the overall vibes to quality of drinks and food you will likely have a difficult finding a better spot.

This time we brought the whole family for dinner. I'd recommend reservations on weekends since it was packed, but we got seated right away because we planned ahead. Our waitress was top-notch -- high energy, charming, attentive. I'd give her 6 stars if I could! She read our crew well and adapted to each individual at the table -- a skill that clearly came from experience, and it served her (and us) well. Everything we had was great: cocktails, appetizers, dinner -- not a bad thing on the table. But the standouts for me were the Buffalo Cauliflower and the Spicy Shrimp Shio Ramen. For drinks, the seasonal Crazy (whiskey, Amaro Montenegro, beet, cayenne, lemon, egg white) and the Veruca Salt (tequila, coconut, avocado, pineapple, lime) were both incredible. I loved them so much I'm making a special trip back to town during my stay just to have them again ;) Bravo, State Lunch! You've got a fan for life. The atmosphere of this wine shop is completely retro and fun. Great old records for sale, vintage clothes rack out back for some thrift shopping, fun and fresh bottles of wine to take home. We sat right at the bar next to the records were playing and the owner switched records frequently and always had something fun playing. The wine here was so much fun - as someone who works in wine sales it's always refreshing to see a bar changing what wines they serve and have something new open every day. They don't have a set wine list, i believe they just choose what they want when they want and display what they are serving by the glass on a shelf behind the bar. I love that idea so you can go often and always be able to try something new. I would have had some snacks along with my wine if we had not just come from lunch but i will definitely be back since this menu always changes with what is fresh.
