Annabella's is a consistently good breakfast/brunch/lunch spot, serving up great hospitality, and victuals. Today I ordered the French Toast and Bacon ($8.50). The French Toast was very flavorful with a rich cinnamon egg batter, and the thick bacon (4strips) was delicious.Adding the perfect saliency note to the backdrop of sweet maple syrup. A hearty dish; the warmth of a comforting spoonful of home. If you are in the Richmond area, Annabella's is a must stop!

Another fine breakfast joint I've never tried until now. And it's only a few minutes off 295 in Richmond. My friends are always asking about eateries on the way to midcoast or central Maine and this conveniently located for on-off, avoiding traffic for Freeport or Brunswick restaurants. The food is nicely done typical diner fare, breakfast and lunch. Across the road is a park on the river and they are very welcoming to humans and dogs, inside and out! A few tables are outdoors. During the week the truck traffic can be a bit much, though.

We're all making friends and enjoying ourselves outdoors at Annabella's, but the inside is just as awesome!

"Trail magic" is an unexpected act of generosity or other delightful surprise which often appears at an uncannily perfect moment. A few days ago we were on our way to L/A via Richmond and our dog needed a break. We saw a cute riverfront park, complete with doggie doo facilities (although we always carry our own supplies, that was welcome, just in case). After a romp on the gorgeous green grass, we were hungry.... and voila! Like a shining beacon on the hill, Annabella's Bakery & Café beckoned - or was it the delicious smells wafting down to us on the gentle breeze, perhaps? Regardless, the food was delicious, the hospitality was gracious, and the other patrons were friendly (ex. the dog-loving couple at the table next to us shared a soft mat for Elliott since their car was parked close by.) We will definitely be back!

There is nothing better than finding a great "go to" breakfast diner. One of the treasures in my life is meeting my dad for breakfast every week. This morning we discovered Annabella's in Richmond Maine. A sweet spot with a water view of the Kennebec River. As I walked in, my eyes immediately went to the homemade bread and baked goods in the display case. Also, this was a seemingly local favorite because as we walked in it played like a family reunion. We were not only welcomed and greeted by our server, but also by each table we passed to our seats. Our server (so sorry I forgot her name) was marvelous. Promptly brought over a fresh pot of coffee and took our order. I got the "Farmers Breakfast" - yeah you know it! 3 eggs over medium, bacon, sausage, home fries and a grilled english muffin. The order came out hot, cooked to perfection and drove my hunger trolls away! My dad and I enjoyed our food, conversation and left there knowing we will be back. Thanks Annabella's for doing it right!

It's difficult to find a breakfast place that scratches the itches of a Sunday morning! A meal that should be as sacred as the day but to satisfy the words itself. Break fast. This is just that place! My wife had the veggie omelet and it had olives in it which is ok by her, but she mentioned not everyone likes olives. I had the farmers with 3 eggs bacon sausage home fries and we both chose the rosemary toast, one word, Wow! The sausage links were really tasty bacon was a substantial thickness and I could almost hear the chicken squawk as they were spirited to the griddle. We shared a pancake order there was an up charge for fruit but the offered blueberries or raspberry. I asked if we could split it by having one blue and the other raspberry, no problem. I used to work in NYC and there was a place that made the statement pancakes make people happy! Well indeed they do. They were the size of sewer caps! The blueberries while it wasn't stated were the small ones that are so beloved by blueberry lovers who can pick a Maine blueberry from a mile away. Patience is a must because of the size and attraction. I still enjoy looking at my wife's face after 40 years so waiting for breakfast was a walk in the park. Would we go back here heck yes!

Through social media we figured…read moreout Morning Moose would be nearby us in Portland for an event with their coffee trailer. Besides the trailer they do have a brick and mortar location in Richmond as well as an in progress location in Topsham. Lastly they also have a private cafe located inside IDEXX Labs. Their Portland event was basically a collaboration of Moose. Morning Moose partnered up with Big Moose Harley-Davidson for a breakfast bingo. We stopped in for just the coffee though. Morning Moose just dropped their Christmas seasonal drinks so perfect time to check them out. Besides coffee they also offer mini donuts. Although we did pass on those this visit due to already having breakfast. Will be a must try next time though. The staff were friendly and greeted us with a smile with quickly made drinks. I ended up getting their Gingerbread Latte while my wife got their Peppermint Pine. Besides these they had a couple other flavored lattes as well as a cranberry energy drink. I very much enjoyed the gingerbread and think it's an overall underrated flavor for the holiday season. My wife and I also enjoyed net peppermint drink but think we would pass on the crushed candy canes next time. A little overpowering. Overall a great experience trying this coffee trailer and look forward to finding the trailer or visiting one of their cafes to grab another drink and some mini donuts!

After visiting with some family and in search of a coffee to start the day this was on our way back home and their drink specials stood out. Firstly, they had about 10 or 12 specials for the month compared to most spots having usually 5 at most. So many of them sounded good with some highlights being Birthday Cake Latte, Blueberry Pancake Latte, Strawberry Shortcake Latte, Blueberry Chai, & Coconut Matcha. A special for everyone's taste/preference. Mentioned in their about section of the website they were looking to create not only a place to grab a coffee but a place to gather. I would say as first time visitors it appeared they accomplished that goal. They created a welcoming and overall great atmosphere that would be such a nice spot to swing in to catch up with friends or bring the family for drinks and baked goods. Which based on signage they create all the baked goods in house and looked like they had a great variety. Coffee wise they support local and use beans from a fellow Maine business, Black Ink Coffee in Bangor. My wife got the Blueberry Pancake Iced Latte and I got the Strawberry Shortcake Iced Latte. Both had tons of flavor, definitely sweet though so be mindful if that isn't your thing. Lastly, we had each got a sausage egg and cheese on an english muffin. Let me say they were some of the largest english muffins I have had. The egg was also seasoned much more than you usually get. A top-notch breakfast sandwich I would return for. Quick and friendly service with delicious food and drinks. A coffee spot I would find myself returning to!

Luckily, there were only about five people ahead of us, and the line moved quickly. The person taking our order immediately made us feel welcome. Even with a busy morning crowd, they took their time with everyone and treated each customer like they were the only one there. That kind of genuine friendliness is something you don't forget. The atmosphere is unlike any coffee shop I've been to. Every wall has something different to look at, quirky artwork, funny signs, vintage pieces, random collectibles, a mannequin dressed in sunglasses and boots, even a life-size Tom Cruise hanging out on the patio. I found myself constantly looking around because there was something interesting in every direction. One of my favorite touches was the self-serve coffee station. You grab a mug from the wall instead of a paper cup. I picked one with a cool Abraham Lincoln wearing a backwards baseball cap while sipping coffee, which perfectly matched the café's fun personality. There were several coffee choices, and I ended up trying two. Refills are available for a small fee. For breakfast, I ordered one of their brioche breakfast sandwiches with the meat of the day, which was brisket. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the soft brioche bun. I also ordered a toasted jalapeño bagel with jalapeño shmear. It comes sprinkled with Tajín but got mine on the side. While I usually enjoy Tajín, it was just a little much for me first thing in the morning, so next time I'd ask for it without. The jalapeño shmear itself was delicious. After eating, we took our coffee outside to enjoy the patio. The colorful mural covering the building, beautiful flower pots, and relaxed seating made it a great place to sit and slow down for a while. Dog Bar Jim isn't just a place to grab breakfast, it's one of those places with real personality. Great food, excellent coffee, genuinely kind service, and an atmosphere that's fun, creative, and impossible to forget. If you're anywhere near Brunswick, it's absolutely worth the stop.

Looking to have a nibble and a mocktail or cocktail with friends? The Abbey has it (and more). The vibe: relaxed, warm, mid-modern meets minimalism, gorgeous stained glass windows, lots of natural light pouring in, the most comfortable seats you've ever sat in at a high top, lots of wood and greenery, a playlist that makes you stop and lean in. It's a cozy place that makes you want to stay a while. The drinks: I tried an iced cardamom latte with oat milk and it was fantastic (if you've ever had the vanilla cardamom cold brew coffee from Trader Joe's, it was an elevated version of that). I've also had a couple cocktails - since they make their syrups in house when they run out, they run out and your drink might be unavailable... BUT the staff is exceptional at making alternate recommendations and even making totally off menu drinks entirely! The food: Several (clearly labeled) vegan options! We tried the muhammara (a housemade dip topped with spiced walnuts, chickpeas, and three half slices of toasted sourdough) and the hummus plate (housemade and topped with marinated chickpeas and a drizzle of olive oil, accompanied by six naan wedges). LOVE the quantity of both dips, but wish there was some other dipping vessel outside of (the sometimes stodgy) bread. A little heap of rainbow veggies would be amazing! While the muhammara was a bit more liquidy than I've had elsewhere, the hummus was thicker than I was expecting. Solid shareable options regardless! (Grab a seat, order at the counter, and they'll call your name when your drinks are ready so you can go grab them; if you've ordered food, they'll bring that to your table. It was confusing what the clean-up situation was, several of us just sort of walking back to the bar with our plates and cups.) Excited to return again!
