Poor service, inconsistent hours, and subpar food. After three straight soul crushing visits I said I'd never return to the Urbandale location. Which sucks...because I'm an LJS fan. I'd run to the flea market on a Sunday at the Iowa State Fairgrounds and thought about getting some LJS as I was driving by on my way home. They were open when they said they would be... That was a great start. I ordered the three chicken and two fish platter, added a third piece of fish, and got two sides of hushpuppies. A little expensive for a lunch, but worth it when it's done right. Service in the drive through and at the window was great. The food was hot and just like it should be! I forgot to ask for tartar sauce so that's on me...I keep a bottle of malt vinegar and ketchup at home. So in summary... If you are a West sider who has been burned by the Douglas location and who still craves LJS... If you are driving by this East side location...have no fear...and make sure you turn into their parking lot. This location will give you what you need...or rather what you want...without the disappointment!
