We've been to other Dave's locations many times and were big fans. However, I can guarantee we won't be going back to this location. We had a $48 order and literally none of it met expectations: - They were out of the flavor of shake we ordered - The sauce cups were filled insultingly low and this was the only Dave's sauce we received with the order - We spent $7 on top-loaded Spicy Buffalo Mac and received a box of completely plain fries instead (no Mac, no Buffalo, no chicken) You can get much better service at the other chicken restaurants in the area. Don't recommend

    Dave's #2 2 Sliders w/ Fries

Honestly was not the biggest fan of the breading, on the chicken. We had gotten hot & medium sliders to share, since we just wanted one each anyways. Unfortunately, the sliders were not labeled, and one of the workers were also not able to tell them apart. This part was upsetting because, I wanted hot and she wanted medium. We ended up figuring it ourselves. I would come back, maybe for the ambiance and the vibes, not necessarily the food.

Basically the most basic word I can use to describe what I ate here was just so delicious! I've never heard of this place and didn't know any history about it but my husband wanted me to try it. So we made our way there on a Sunday evening. It was pretty busy with lots of DoorDash and other delivery people hanging out waiting. We ordered at the counter and I got the number two which is basically two sliders as well as fries. It's a bit pricey but the sliders were really big! I got mild even though I love spicy because my husband says that even though he ordered just medium hot, he said it was pretty spicy. Took about 15 minutes to get our food but was completely worth it! We sat down in the area in the back which was weird because it used to be a mod pizza and I just remember being there and before but different ambience and environment. So for the food, amazing! The chicken was so tender and crispy and the sauce was so good! I wish I would have got more than mild though. It definitely needed a bit more spice! Besides the chicken though and the sliders with the pickles and slaw that just made it so amazing, the fries were also spectacular! I've never had crinkle cut fries that were so well seasoned and so delicious! So yeah, I'm a big fan of this place! Besides the amazing chicken, the fries are like the best I've ever had it any restaurant! I don't know how they do it but they've done it. A whole number two with the sliders and fries is going to put you back at least 1600 calories before the sauce just FYI. But if you're counting your calories, it can be a meal for a whole day or take one of the sliders home for later. Definitely looking forward to going back!

Dave's Hot Chicken started in 2017 with $900 in a parking lot in California. It has grown to nearly 300 restaurants globally. The location near my house opened a couple of months ago. Orders are placed at the counter and prepared fresh, so there is a little bit of a wait even when they aren't busy. The menu is pretty simple, led by their famous chicken tenders, which can be served alone or as a slider sandwich. They also have chicken bites, fries, mac & cheese, and kale slaw to round out the menu. All chicken can be served with no spice, lite mild, mild, medium, hot, extra hot, or "reaper," which includes a disclaimer for how hot it truly is. For my dinner, I ordered Dave's #3 so that I could sample a variety of the offerings ($13.49). This included a tender served on sliced bread with pickles and a slider served on a potato bun with kale slaw, pickles, and Dave's sauce. Fries are also included in the meal deal. This was a lot of food! I think next time I might just get the slider meal, as each tender is actually really thick and filling. I ordered my chicken with hot sauce, and it was pretty dang hot! I tried the tender alone, but found myself dipping it in the side of Dave's sauce to cool it off some. The slider didn't feel as hot since it had slaw, pickles, and Dave's sauce already drizzled on it. I might try the medium heat level next time, or just stick with the slider and the hot sauce.

I was really impressed at how this popular restaurant lived up to the hype. The chicken truly was breaded, seasoned, and fried to order, and that makes it worth the wait that you will have. Even if you don't like "hot" chicken, they have a version with no spice. My other favorites were the mac & cheese and the crinkle fries which were seasoned really well. I really wanted to try one of the milkshakes, but the machine wasn't working unfortunately.

We decided to try Dave's Hot Chicken after the district manager of Noodles & Company told us he loved Dave's Hot Chicken when it was in that East Hollywood, California parking lot and ate there all the time. Unfortunately, we didn't have the same opinion when it came the one in Oakley, Ohio. The first thing I noticed was how loud the music was. I instantly wanted to walk right back out the door, but we wanted to try the food, so I stayed. HELLO, PEOPLE! It's a fast-casual restaurant, not a nightclub. If the music is that loud there better be a disco ball on the ceiling or a stage along the wall. It was so loud that I had to go ask them to turn the music down. We couldn't even have a normal conversation while we were waiting on our food. Even after they turned the volume down it was still a bit too loud for my liking. The food should be the focal point of a restaurant. Not the background music. So, that brings us to the food. The chicken tenders were huge. I checked their website. They certainly don't claim to use GMO- Free chickens, so they must use GMO chickens that weigh about 15 pounds. The chicken tender breading had a nice crunch and flavor, but the dry rub felt "gritty". I was not a fan of that, but the biggest problem was the tenders were cold. I don't mean room temperature. They were cold. I ordered the mac & cheese as my side item, but I had to ask the young woman at the counter if I could get the mac & cheese since the menu says all the entrees come with fries. So, if you try this restaurant just know you can substitute the fries if you'd like. The mac & cheese was very good. It was cheesy and hot with a great texture and flavor. The tenders also came with a piece, or 2 of plain, sliced sandwich bread. I don't remember which and I'm not sure why. There was no butter, jam, or honey in sight. It wouldn't be to make a sandwich. If I wanted a sandwich I would have ordered a sandwich. It just made me think the bread was there to soak up the oil from the chicken, which did not sound appetizing in the slightest. The saucy bites that my husband ordered were just that, bite size, but they were warm and the spicy buffalo sauce was not too spicy and had a good flavor. The fries were good. They were hot and crisp. Although, I do not like the seasoning they put on them, but to be fair, aside from a bit of salt, I haven't found a fry seasoning that I do like. My husband on the hand did like their seasoning. Neither one of us liked their signature sauce. Not one bit. We tasted it, but didn't eat it, It looked and tasted like a version of Big Mac sauce that went terribly wrong. We were given extra sauce packets that went didn't ask for. So, we left them on the table. It just seemed like a big waste since people could ask for extra sauce if they want it. The service was definitely the best part. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and the gentleman who I asked to turn the music down did so without hesitation. He seemed happy to accommodate me. He probably wished more people would make the same request. I wish this restaurant the very best, but I think they will have a difficult time since they have Wings and Rings, Cane's, and Wing Stop as neighbors.

Good flavor. Good service. Food came out fast and hot, pun intended. The "hot" was too hot for my husband. The medium was just right. I would return.

(Well, not Mondays when they are closed :-). Parking isnt free, but it's not too expensive, and we had no problem finding a space in the North Parking Lot between Findlay Street and the market. We came in through a covered outdoor walkway, with a few vendors and with clever sayings along the sides. Then a cute photo-op with a cartoon Reds statue. Then the market stretching left and right, full of fresh produce, meats and cheese, and ready-to-eat foods of all kinds. On our first walkthrough we just scanned left and right to see some of what's there. It was busy, but not uncomfortably crowded. Out the south door of the market onto Elder Street, there's several murals, and more shops and restaurants. We always stop in at Maverick Chocolate Co. for a few yummy samples from so many flavors. They used to make the chocolate here, and now it's made just across the river in KY, where you can still get tours and probably samples :-). We sampled around six varieties! And decided on four. But it was a hot day, so we decided to circle back later for our purchases. The staff was welcoming, and maybe they didn't really know that we would return, but they were still just as kind as can be :-). We walked west to Elm Street to the stop for the free Connector streetcar, just to take a little ride around town, partly to see some of the hundreds of murals around town! And we got off again, later, at the same stop. Right there at the west end of the Market building there's an outdoor bar and patio. I, myself, was ready for a little refreshment, and they poured me a delicious local bourbon cocktail, while others of us had local craft beers. We found shaded seating among probably 20 or more round red metal tables, with chairs that were really raucous when moved! The seats fill and empty in fits and spurts, and there"s a handful of backless stools at the bar, so if you wait a little, you'll find a place to sit. We dove back into the market for some freshly-made pierogis, and a to nearby bbq, too. And afterwards, we circled back to Maverick for delicious fresh-made artisanal chocolate :-). Yum, yum, and more yum! We saw so many places we want to return to! Findlay Market has everything! I'll post a very few of so many photos that we took of a full, fun day. It's a nice area to walk around, shop, eat, and drink. And it's a great spot to catch the Connector streetcar to get around OTR and downtown Cincinnati, to within a-few-minutes-walk of the porch-swings overlooking the Ohio River near the ballpark :-)
