Tried for the first time last week. We ordered an assortment of sliders, tenders, mac and cheese, kale salad, fries. The fries were ok but the rest was not good. We tried mild, lite mild, and no spice. All were bland. Possibly their chicken needs a decent heat level to have any appeal because at the lower levels the coating tastes terrible, too salty with an unappealing mealy consistency which is not a 'crust.' Honestly, Wendy's makes a far better spicy chicken sandwich. Mac and cheese was deemed terrible as well by a diner who I've never seen turn down mac and cheese ever. I'll stick to Popeyes chicken. Where do I start, so since they have been open I probably been coming once a week, lines are long for sure but it is what it is you know what your going to expect. So today 7/20 I had came at 6:45 line was not too long but was kind of slow. I got to the front to order at 7:14, usually takes 10 mins or less to get food. 30-45 mins later still no food and numbers were getting called after my by at least 5 numbers. I ask them where my meal is and they said yours is next? All I order was a #3 with Mac and cheese, a bunch of orders have double the food I had and I still waited. 8pm I finally get my food but they were out of Mac and cheese, ok so your telling me I waited just for a #3 for an extra 45 mins?? If you are running this place you would think you want to get the meals that are easier out first not the big orders. Anyways I didn't wait for a refund for my mac and cheese I already wasted an hour. I probably won't be coming back until they get there shit together. We like to eat chicken.. So as we saw this location open up and saw the huge lines we thought that this must be special and tried it now. Saturday afternoon around 4pm. Still a line but at least only inside. But to make it short. Very very disappointing. The spices were to powdery and just glued on the chicken. We will not come back. read more

This was my second time to Dave's after the hype and much more relaxed then the first. I ordered through the app and didn't have any issues with the order process. There was a designated spot for pickup and ambiance inside was good. My food was hot and ready. I ordered 2 tenders w/fries with medium heat. The tenders are big and the seasoning and spice were great. I get the bread to balance out heat but to me it's just wasted bread. I've been curious about DHC since the signs for it went up. Tonight I decided to stop in and try. I wish I hadn't. Ordered the two tenders (one medium, one hot) and fries meal, with a drink and 20% tip, came to about $19. The chicken was nice and juicy, but the dry rub they use to make it spicy was so caked on, the tender was nearly unpalatable. Even the fries had some of it thrown on. I ate half and threw the rest of it away. Eating it was messy- they don't offer any kind of silverware, so I had their rub all over my hands. The restaurant was fairly busy (about 5:30 on a Friday night). Small parking lot and a number of people lining up. I did notice the kitchen seemed to have bottlenecks frequently- multiple orders would suddenly start dropping in all at once. Would not recommend. read more

Went here for the first time tonight. Was really looking forward to trying this place but sad to say I will never go back. The restaurant was beyond filthy. All tables were dirty, trash on floor, overflowing garbage cans, etc. After ordering our food I went to restroom (single person unisex) to wash hands and there was feces and dirty toilet paper on the floor. Unfortunately I had already ordered because at that point I lost my appetite. On top of that, the service was extremely slow. It took 30 minutes to get food after ordering. As for the food, my partner's order had a hair in it (barf)! I seriously would never in a million years consider going back. This was by far one of my worst dining experiences. read more

Absolutely garbage, if anybody knows anything about hot chicken, you should spend some time in Nashville. Princes, hot chicken, and Hattie B's is by far the best in the industry. Anyone that tries to duplicate or try to mimic a technique as a chain will not succeed. The sauce and flavor was mediocre at best. If you want real hot chicken and go to Nashville Tennessee. I basically waited in line for two hours to have canes chicken strips with mediocre hot sauce. The service is poor in the management needs some additional training by four. I've been driving all the way from Woodbury to eat at this place the first time I went was March 9th I liked it so much I went back may 14. This time my order was all the way wrong and when the cashier was taking my order I knew it was gonna be a disaster mind you I drove 33 minutes to get there and back they didn't give me what I ordered and I ordered sauce xtra sauce and it wasn't in the bag I called back the next day to talk to the manager and she said they don't give sauce with the order you have to ask for it and I asked could I just come back to get all new food and she said they Vado that she has to talk to the owner first then they will call me back. First, I was forced to tip at the counter, then came the food. The food looks amazing but what wasn't amazing was the taste. The seasonings were to strong, the sauce was flavorless. I had ordered both the mild and medium expecting "Dave's HOT Chicken" to have hot chicken but there was zero spice. Now some problems: The menu (and order-taker) is rigid in terms of what items you want. I ordered three tenders and instead of one order of three tenders, I got three separate orders of one. The sauce is ok but pretty bland. And, like all counter service, they hit you up for a tip before you get your food. Really good chicken. Only three things on the menu, which is a good sign: french fries, 2 types of shakes and chicken ( on or off of bread.) Pro-tip: there is like 7 gradations of spiciness to choose from. I tried the Medium, and the next level up, Spicy. The Spicy was way way more hot than the Medium.
