    Chicken strips and sauce
    Micah L.

Happened to be walking downtown late night with my boys and ran into this spot. They're open super late and they have huge windows so you cant miss it. Walked in, got some chicken strips and they have a ton of different sauces to try. I purchased one and they threw in a few cause it was my first time there. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was pretty big and plenty of seating. Chicken was hot and fresh, not my favorite breading but still really good. I will be going back.

I wouldn't say this was one of the worst chicken sandwiches I've had, but it definitely wasn't one of the better ones. We walked in just before 10pm. There wasn't a line, so we read the menus while the cashier stared at us. It's not complicated - it's a sandwich or combo, but the way the menus were laid out took us awhile to figure out what we wanted. It would have been nice if the cashier explained what can come in the combo vs sides - or even offer help or state his favorites ok the menu. This place is seriously pricey for what you get. I got two sandwiches (no combo) and one side and it cost over $30. The bun was hard/dense and the hot sandwich had no spice. Overall, there's plenty of chicken in the city and between the impersonal transaction and mediocre food, I will not be back.

I always drive past this new restaurant whenever I head to work in downtown Minneapolis. I finally made it to try their food. I was surprised how big their menu is, but wasn't really hungry. I ordered the chicken and biscuits with tater tots. Choose a sauce for the sandwich. Service was great, walk up to the counter and order your meal. They will call out your number when it's ready. Restaurant is pretty big with a spacious dining area, also well lit too. I'll have to come back and try their wings.

Always up for supporting small businesses. It was late on a Saturday and we had to try the wings we got mango habanero were decent. I wish they had homemade dip. A little sketchy but that is to expected after midnight on. Saturday night,

So good. High quality strips for my fellow chicken finger aficionados. Mad Chicken is a national chain with locations largely on the east coast and Wisconsin. Well seasoned and tender. Lots of sauces to choose from. Waffle trees are arguably better than chick fil a!

Was in the area and needed late night dinner. Came across Mad Chicken which was open until 1:00am. Arrived around 10:30pm on 5/21/25. Note, street parking and be prepared to pay the meter. Walked in and there was a gentleman standing right behind the counter just observing us looking at the oversized bright overwhelming menu. Rather awkward experience. Ordered the mad fire sandwich and made it a combo. Also ordered jalapeño popper side. Total was like $23.... WOW! Unfortunately, the food just wasn't good. I definitely would NOT call that fire sauce good and/or... really no taste. Just lacked lots of flavor especially for how much it costed. Food was made fresh to order apparently, but I would disagree and say it was likely heated. Restaurant was bright from the lighting to the menu. There was a very colorful wall that looked neat. Overall, nothing great. I wouldn't return as there's much better places to get a chicken sandwich (and budget friendly).

Got #4 chicken sandwich. It was really good, didn't taste like Canes or Chik-fil-a. And it filled me up. I enjoyed it.

Really over priced it was ok quality but $4 for a 'combo' with no pop refills definitely won't be back.

Ever since 2020, the climate surrounding the George Floyd Square has changed dramatically, and this establishment has become an even stronger integral part of the community as the square itself had represented how the community thrives with its people. A lot of respect for the establishment from that perspective. In terms of food, I would say the soul food, which contained mostly sides, were the main highlight for me. The mac & cheese was salty enough. The fries were solid in a "you can't really go wrong with it" type of way. The candied yams had enough sweetness. The collard greens could taste better but standards must be lower when they're not homemade. I also enjoyed the catfish fillets as they were fried to preserve enough hotness and softness. A lot of what they served, they made on the spot, which was what may be causing longer wait for some. Meat-wise, a lot of items could use further improvement because they were too dry, such as the smoked wings and the beef brisket. The wings were dry to the point that they condensed and got extremely salty. The brisket relied a lot on the sauce and the existing fat on the meat for juiciness while the meat itself didn't have a lot of flavor or juice. As for the ribs, they had some seasoning, and tasted just fine, and weren't as dry. But I have had ribs in Texan barbeque places before and knew what "seasoned" ribs were like and therefore concluded that the ribs here were not spectacular. With all that said, however, I still will return here as often as I can because I love supporting this business. The person serving me was very hospitable and patient. I still got some pretty solid barbeque even if it's not Texas. Besides, outside just the barbeque food, the soul food was solid, like I had mentioned above.

They offer whole chicken, boneless and regular wings in 14 different seasoning, (Not all of the seasonings are available for the whole chicken) along with a big variety of sides. As we looked over the menu a staff member greeted us and let us look at the menu for a bit and then offered to answer any questions. We asked about a couple of the flavor options, they offered us a small sample of the seasoning to help us decide. We chose the small honey garlic wings and a small Gangnam style wings. A small is 8 wings, a medium is 16 wings and a large is 24 wings. The wings themselves are good sized. We also ordered the cheesling fries which was also a very generous portion. The wings were very crisp and hot when they came out. The kept there crunch through our whole meal! I was impressed that the breading didn't start to get soggy. The Gangnam Style was sweet and salty with a little spiciness. It was spicy for me, but very tasty. I would be able to enjoy a couple pieces but the heat would eventually get to be too much for me. The honey garlic had no spicy rating. They were a nice complement to the spicy option we chose. This is a small restaurant with about 15 tables. It's counter service and you get a number for your table. The only thing slightly negative is the floor is a little sticky. The food is worth the trip to this place!

I'm not sure how well it holds up togo but I did see several togo orders when I was there. They had a helpful little self serve station near the cashier with drinks, utensils, plates, napkins and togo boxes which was very helpful. There are plenty of seats for groups. One negative point is the lack of ventilation in the store, we sat there for about 45min total including ordering and eating our meals and we reeked of fry oil. It penetrated through all our clothes including jackets. So warning, don't wear anything that you aren't afraid of smelling like oil and try to sit next to the door.
