Never been to a Dave's Hot Chicken before, but this is my niece's favorite fast food restaurant so it was suggested we come here for lunch. I was not hungry so just split a chicken tender and fries with my sister, while the nieces and nephews ordered their own combos. The chicken tender I ate was good, would considered trying it in the future. It was definitely better with Dave's Hot Honey, which I think is the same brand we order a gallon at a time for work with our banquet orders. Quality whole pieces of chicken and good spice blends, I can taste why it is a favorite. The fries are decent on their own, but next level with Hot Honey or Dave's Sauce or Reaper Ranch. I thought it'd be just a whatevers fried chicken place but I was so wrong! I got the top-loaded fries medium spicy. It was probably a 2/5 spiciness for me but my tolerance is pretty high. The fries are crinkle cut and has the perfect blend of salty with a tiniest bit of sweetness. Very well balanced flavor! The mix of spicy mayo, coleslaw, sweet sour tangy salty spices all made my meal so delicious. The chicken is SUPER juicy too!!! I got a regular size for $12-ish which came with 6 chicken bites and I was super full after eating 4 of them and about half my fries. I order from this restaurant regularly and usually get the Super Hot level, which I can normally handle without any problem. But this time it was completely different--it was just as spicy as the Reaper I had before. After eating it, I experienced a severe burning sensation in my stomach. I specifically avoid Reaper because the last time I ate it, I ended up in the ER and was diagnosed with gastrointestinal bleeding. They also seemed to use a bit more seasoning, which is fine by me because it gave the tenders a punch of flavor. I like spicy foods so I ordered very hot which is the second most spicy level. Regular size gets you 6 bites. Since the shake is top loaded make sure to mix in the lolthe top so it is dispersed throughout the shake. The only con is the shake is thick and the straw is not useable right away. Just went and had it for the first time. Ive never had Daves Hot chicken before. I was stoked to try their take on the spicy chicken trend. I ordered the 1 sando ,1 tender and fries combo. I Asked "for here" to dine in. Receipt tag also has printed "for here". But they served it to me in a black to-go box and plastic bag. Other customers are dining with there meals on a red tray basket. No biggie but preferred a tray for the dine in experience like everyone else. Onto the Sando. Top bun was warm but bottom bun was refrigerated cold. kinda weird. The chicken tender they have inside was good but i felt the cole slaw they used lacked any flavor. The Tender piece were good and well seasoned for flavor and had good texture. Could be a little. bit more crispier tho. Also the medium spice level can be kicked up a notch. The medium was barely a kick and more like a super mild. In comparison Medium at howling rays kicks up a good sweat going and nose drool for me. The fries were very good and crispy with good seasoning. The come back sauce was very good as well. It comes out of a plastic pouch tho not inna container. So im not sure what kind of processed packaged ingredients comes in it to preserve the sauce. I prefer just having the tender over the sando next time. I would not go for the sando. Dave's Hot Chicken in my opinion is one of the better fast food options to choose from from the sea of restaurants that also offer chicken options. The interior was clean, and my food was ready within 5-10 minutes. The chicken were fairly moist and seasoned well. The fries were notably very crispy and fluffy for a fast food fry and we'll seasoned. However, all these positives are at the cost for a relatively high price tag for fast food. Dave's is worth getting for those who do not mind spending the few extra dollars for a better fast food experience.
