Honestly, I'm torn with this review. As far as service, I ordered on the app fairly late in the night and it was ready in less than 10 mins for pickup. Very smooth ordering process. When they say hot, it is definitely hot; they're not playing around. I'm the person who usually orders something spicy in any restaurant and for the most part I usually get the hottest spice level in most foods. However, this is a step above. Which, for those who want painfully spicy, this might hit the spot (they actually have a waiver if you order the reaper level hot). I only went for hot and extra hot as a first test, which I felt was a bit hotter than I was expecting. The chicken itself is tender and juicy. Love the dry rub seasoning. They also have vegan options. All orders come with pickles, slices of bread, and sauce by default. However, only a few bites in my stomach started to hurt. That usually doesn't happen while I'm eating spicy food. So something about it seemed off. Let's just say the day after was not great for us. Can you give a review with negative stars? What a terrible restaurant in the Vestal, NY location. On line order, no exaggeration, an HOUR late before it was ready. Not even that crowded! Giving the wrong orders to people and then getting mad at people when they show up and their food was given away. Manager is rude and clearly terrible at her job. Ordering was easy. The young man at the counter, Devin, was very personable. Chicken sandwich was cooked perfectly. I asked for medium spicy and that's what I got. Fries were nicely seasoned and crispy. Definitely worth the cheat! The restaurant is clean, there's plenty of tables for dining in and there's ample parking. read more

Went out to Dave's Hot Chicken last night for our date night. It just opened recently and we were excited to try something new in town. We were not disappointed. It was a decent wait to order, they are crazy busy right now but it was worth the wait. The food didn't take long once we ordered. We took it to go. We ordered a #1 two sliders mild and fries and a #4 1 slider medium with fries. The chicken has a dry seasoning on it which was a nice surprise most places if not all in the area do sauces. It's definitely something new offered. The chicken was crispy and juicy and super flavorful. The kale slaw was a nice addition to the slider. It's fresh and offsets the heaviness of the meal. Fries were also excellent, they are crinkle cut with a seasoning. Dave's sauce is a Smokey sweet sauce, very yummy on everything including the fries. We also got a side of Mac n cheese to try. It was creamy and cheesy, flavor was good. The mild on first taste has virtually no spicy level. The medium is definitely there but not overwhelming. The heat does pick up as you eat with time, even with the mild. But nothing crazy. The medium was perfect for me. Great first visit. The portions are pretty big. Glad I only got 1 slider. This was a total bummer. I had heard really good things about this place and was really excited to try it. I ordered the slider and tender meal with fries. I ordered light-mild. It was probably my fault in assuming I could handle the light mild. It was still too hot to eat. OK, my bad it's not their fault that I ordered wrong, but the bite that I did take was pure seasoning. My husband got the bites, which actually seemed less spicy than the tender, so I tried that. Two bites in and that was a mistake as well. OK well I at least still ordered mac & cheese, french fries fries with cheese and coleslaw. The French fries were soggy and super salty and the cheese had no flavor. The Cole slaw was basically cabbage sitting in water. The mac & cheese was ultimately the only thing that I was able to eat. It tasted kind of like the cheese sauce with some spices and the macaroni was soft, which I find to be an issue with most places that serve macaroni and cheese. In the end, my husband did not care for the tenders either so after $43 I was the only one able to eat that itty-bitty cup of macaroni and cheese. Boo. read more

The food in the place (Dave's Hot Chicken) is amazing. The rub on the Chicken is so good I love it. I keep on getting hot spice chicken and it's delicious. Prices are normal considering the big pieces of chicken you get. The mac& cheese is my favorite. Service took a little longer than usual, But considered the people ordered. I give this place 5stars.
