Our first visit to Dave's Hot Chicken! So delicious!!! We don't live in Waco but when we travel through Waco that is our stop...every time!!

The food is absolutely amazing... I can't wait to come back! I personally love the medium but order hot on occasion.

This place sucks. Guy couldn't look at me in the eyes. Places food was worse than my grilled chicken with no seasoning at the house.

Good food, good service, my husband and I split the hottest strip on the menu and it was pretty hot. I likely will not do that ever again. Overall great experience! read more

This place is fairly new-- they've got a good simple menu. To me it is overpriced because the $10-13 dollar meals do not even come with a drink. The chicken is hot, juicy, and great pickles. They serve seasoned crinkle fries which are very tasty. There is no ranch , but they have a house sauce. The packaging for the Dave's sauce is incredibly hard to open. I went to daves the first time in 2019 in LA. I had been waiting for years for it to get out of LA. I heard they opened up on in Waco and had to get there and see it for myself. It taste the same in Waco as it did in LA. The only difference is its fake bussin in Waco. In LA i waited outside for over an hour to get it. Here I was able to walk in. That just means the locals dont know nothing about this. So Imma get as much as I can when I can just walk in. In due time I know the line will be crazy! That hot chicken is on point! Atmosphere- Clean, quaint , and modern. Service- I dined in and the speed of service was acceptable. The cashier was polite and accommodating. Food: The slider was meaty. I tried it with medium heat and with no spice. I don't think the spice elevated the sandwich that much. My slider was made to order so kudos for that but I was not blown away. The crinkle cut frozen fries with season tossed over them was something I could live without. I think many people will be a little put off by the slaw on the slider. I don't get it but it wasn't a big deal to me. The chicken didn't have juiciness that I was hoping for. Overall, not bad but I wasn't wowed. read more

I am from Southern California. We have this restaurant there and it's the talk of the town. It's always busy. I was excited to see Dave's in Waco, I was anticipating the goodness that Dave's is known for. I was Sadly Disappointed. It was a Saturday afternoon when I went thru the drive thru. There were two cars ahead of me. It was about 15 minutes before I got to the order box. I placed my order anticipating the delicious flavor I remembered. I realize that sometimes orders can get backed up so I'm patiently waiting another 10 minutes before I could pick up my order. I thought for sure the food would be amazing. Needless to say, after all the wait the fries were cold, the chicken dry. Truly not worth the $15 dollars spent. What a let down. I'll delete this restaurant from my memory. read more

Cool fast food spot with good food. I got the two slider combo hot. Unless you're really hungry one is enough and it's more of a regular size sandwich than slider. I did try a side of the reaper sauce and it was definitely SPICY. The girl at the counter was very helpful giving me a run down of the options. Open late as well. read more

Food was delish! My family tried 'hot' as the chicken spice. I personally like 'hot' in general but will try something less spicy next time. Chicken was juicy. Also, I couldn't get enough of the fries. We were given a sample of cheese sauce to taste with the fries. Oh my... can i get a gallon of that?!? Gary who in my opinion was superb! Had to try this spot while I was visiting for the holidays! Not only is it super dope graphic art surrounding the building - which immediately draws your attention literally from a mile away - but the food!! I ordered the two sliders combo and it came with delicious fries cooked perfectly crispy and two HUGE sandwiches. Added a drink for only $17 and it made two full mess. Chicken was cooked to perfection and seasoning was delicious. Not to mention the delicious KALE slaw which was a perfect twist to a coleslaw on a crispy chicken sandwich. Be warned though - HOT! Is hottttt !!!!! Medium is spicy and there are two levels I'm afraid to try! Lol definitely worth it and the customer service was on point! read more

Let me start by saying I went to the location based on opening time located on the actual DAVES website for this location stating 10:30. Made a 35 minute drive to get here only to find when arriving the store doors said 11. Ok no big deal it was 10:57 am when arrived at location. A worker came to the door and told another patron they could wait inside. No further explanation. We waited it was 11:10 when the doors were then opened by a female worker, no name was given saying sorry 2 people called in and my GM is on her way and said to not open until she got there. She could take our orders but it would be a wait. This was all info given after being not so pleasant to the person I had gone there with saying she couldn't talk to her because she was on the phone and someone called in. When she came and explained to us at the other lobby door there was only one other person here besides her in which there were two others in the restaurant. She then fixed herself to say she was refusing to serve us because we were being rude. I said I had a big problem with that since we drive 30 minutes to come to THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Once inside we still waited another 10 minutes before orders even started to be taken. She also did not take MY order she had another worker do so and then after mine was placed, she stepped in and started taking everyone else orders. NOT THE BEST IMPRESSION of this company as other locations (in Hurst, Tex) have been amazing!! Above and beyond service there. There needs to be training here how to handle situations that can arise and how to remain professional in those times. That was the most disappointing part of this experience. read more

So good! I will say although I ordered a lite mild spice, there was still a good amount of heat. But it is hot chicken after all. The chicken tenders are a great size and so so juicy. I enjoyed my meal with a delicious shake so that certainly helped tame the spice. The Dave's house sauce pairs great with the chicken too. It was good just took awhile to get your food. If you can eat a lot then two sliders is enough but one slide meal was sufficient for me.

These people are crazy!!! I walked in at looked at the first thing on the menu, 2 strips and fries for $11.99, not even a drink. Chicken is not that hard to come by. You would have to have no concept of value to eat here. I turned around and left like anyone in their right mind would do. Their chicken strips may be amazing but at that price I am not willing to find out. There are too many other good options at a far better price. Sorry Dave, but you are very overpriced and I doubt you'll make it here in Waco. Take your stupid prices back to California. read more

Super clean, and very fast! The chicken tenders are very large, so two really is plenty! The fries were super crispy, and I loved the seasoning combined with the sauce. I'd even recommend the mac n cheese. Overall, great experience! I ate in the restaurant, so I can't say how it travels. read more

Tbh, wasn't my cup of tea. Waited 25 minutes to order then when I reached the window was told to move to a parking spot where I waited another 10-15 minutes. I ordered a chicken tender and a slider which was just under 15 USD with no drink... the chicken itself was okay, but you can tell all the flavor goes on the batter which appears to be air fried making the chicken look 2x bigger. Lasting thoughts : not worth the price given other options in waco for less price and more food read more

Food was 5 Stars Cost was 3 stars. The service is great and the food quality is top notch. But three meals and 3 drinks cost $50. The meals are only entree and fries. The drinks are additional. I understand food costs are rising and employees cost more but at the end of the day this is a fancier chick fil a. I can order basically the same amount of food for under $30 at CFA. I don't think the slightly higher food quality is worth paying 60% more. Just my opinion of course. If someone else is buying I would happily return because the quality and service was very good. read more

Great chicken, definitely gets spicy! My husband got the extra hot and I got the lite mild spice. Mine was a little too spicy for my taste, but I'm a wimp with spice. My husband loved his, definitely spicy. Their fries are nice crispy crinkle cut fries, not too much mushy potato. Their house sauce is alright, kind of sweet/tangy like Hat Creek Burger's. I tried Dave's for the first time, and ordered the #1; 2 tenders, fries. the service was good, as I was there around 12:30. The chicken tenders were spicy to my satisfaction. The fries were plentiful as well. I noticed no ketchup available unless you asked the counter person for some. Plus, no forks or knives unless you ask. The basket also came with two slices of bread, and pickles too. I'll have to be honest in saying that the best thing I ate was the fries. The chicken was spicy, but bland as well. The bread was semi dried out, and served no purpose with the tenders and fries. The pickles were also really tasty. in my opinion, this meal was overpriced at $13 which didn't include a drink. I probably should have ordered the slider, which looked more appealing. The dining area was loud, echoing music, scooting chairs, and people having to talk loud to hear each other. The graffiti decor in the dining area did not appeal to me. Not sure if I'll try this place again. read more

First time trying this restaurant, the food was good and came out quickly. We will definitely be visiting here more. Interior decor is very cool. The staff is friendly. They will make you sign a waiver for the Reaper heat. My husband tried it and said the heat goes away pretty quickly but if you're a fan of spice you'll like it. Amazing atmosphere with the customer service to match. You could hear the laughter from the kitchen as they were all joking around with each other. The ladies in the front came by while we were eating and offered to refill our drinks and take care of any needs we might have. The food was definitely worth the wait.
