Manager was rude and had terrible customer service upon having an issue with an online order because they failed to update that they were out of gluten free bread. She refused to help me figure out how to cancel the order when I was unable to cancel it on my end and kept interrupting me when I tried to explain the situation. If they are out a certain food item they should be prompt to update their availability. Whoever the morning manager is on Saturdays should improve their customer service and take more time to listen to customers instead of getting mad and interrupting any chance a customer tries to talk. read more

Went by the Waco store today around 11:15 on my way home from a Dr.appt. Ordered 2 Lg chicken parm meatball subs. I love that sub I get it everytime I go in! Anyway there are 5 people on the clock, 3 of them are chit chatting, laughing loudly and ignoring me. One girl helped me but had to stop the work she was doing, filling gallons of lemonade for a catering order, to help me. And 1 lady walking around in the back. Her uniform was slightly different then the others. Idk if she was a type of manager or not. No other customers in line. Takes almost 20 mins for 2 sandwiches, to go. Get the food, go home...an hr away, in salado. Got home, got out my food and notice the meatballs are falling apart, they are really soft... not like normal. Then I see they are brown and not white, and then take a bite and they are spicy! They are the regular meatballs. My receipt even says the chicken parm meatball. So I'm guessing they didn't have any ready and that's a reason it took so long they were trying to figure out what to do. Or they got confused. Or didn't care at all. Or maybe the girl was mad cause the other 3 people were leaving her to do all the wrk while they sat around on the clock ‍ I'm ok with helping get lazy people what they deserve. Anyway, I can't eat this sub! It's spicy and hello, isn't what I wanted. Yes they taste WAY different! Not nearly as good as the chicken meatball. So I call them and see what we can do. Get a refund to the card I used or get an IOU or some coupons or something. Well I call 6 times, and never get an answer. I started calling after 1 to give the lunch rush time to thin out. Waited a bit in between calls. Trying to make sure they weren't busy. Trying to be level headed but pretty much losing that battle. We all know how expensive those subs are. And I'm usually ok with it cause they are amazing! It's my fav sub shop! For 2 Lg it was 31 bucks even. Now its wasted. And yes, I even rounded up to do their charity thing while being ignored by lazy employees. And as of right now they still haven't answered the phone. So I'm writing this to get someone's attention. That store needs help! Oh! And that mystery 5th employee/maybe manager even said something to the 3 lazy employees about uber eats orders coming in and not getting made. They still didn't get up and make those orders after she said something to them. They acknowledged her and went back to talking and joking around. She didn't continue to try with them. If she was a manager I would hope she wouldn't let them walk all over her like that. Employees only act like that if they learn they can get away with it. Atleast in my experience having managed a subway and Pizza Hut. So, anyway... 1/5 stars... nothing was right. We decided to pop in when my mom and I were craving subs. The decor and overall environment of this little restaurant was really interesting to look at! I loved the theme. The employees and service were absolutely fantastic. The employees checked on us often and really cared what we thought of the food. The food was phenomenal. My first time to try Firehouse Subs. I was warmly greeted when I walked in the door by Jeremiah. The restaurant and the bathrooms were clean. I ordered the roast beef-warm and the Italian sub-cold. My roast beef sandwich was so good! The bread is excellent, fresh, warm and toasted, but not hard. The roast beef and cheese melted perfectly, not microwaved but steamed-makes all the difference!! Cold crisp veggies. Very good sandwich. The Italian sub was very good also. Good cold but next time I will try it hot. Five stars for Jeremiah. Really made great sandwiches and was also very customer friendly and courteous. And he remembered to put my extra mayonnaise packets in with the sandwich! I will visit again very soon read more

Today was my first time at firehouse and it was great! I ordered over the phone and when I came into the store I wasn't sure where to go. One guy noticed my confusion and totally helped me out. I didn't get his name but he was loud, super friendly, flamboyant, maybe had an earring? and possibly my new BFF. And it wasn't only him, the entire staff was so super friendly and helpful. Decent subs, but unengaged, sloppy service! The side salad I got looked and tasted like it was 3 weeks old. I ordered ranch to go with it but what came was some cream gravy type thing that would have tasted better on a biscuit! And then as of that wasn't bad enough I was never given my Doctor Pepper that I had paid for!!! So I chocked down the sub with no drink. Not fun. This place razes Subway to the ground. From the efficient but peppy, friendly counter staff. The brightly colored decor and easy ordering system, to the tower of hot sauces to firebomb your meal. I ordered a 12 inch classic Meatball sandwich and by golly, it truly was a foot long (maybe they should do some training for Subway--just saying). The bread was crusty and fluffy, and crackled delightfully with each bite. The meatballs reminded me of awesome meatloaf from an Italian restaurant, and the cheese cap was melty but not runny. And about the same price as Subway's... it's time they pull over for the Firetruck blazing through! read more

I was the only customer, since it was later in the evening on a week night. A lovely lady named Tameika, greeted me with a cheery smile and she took my order, explaining the different options I had (there were many). She had a contagious smile, and you couldn't help but to laugh with her. A young man came out from the back, Alonzo, and cashed me out. Quiet, but a very kind smile. I left the building, ravenous, sat in my car and took a bite of an awesome sandwich (the Hero), just needing a bite until I could get home. As I sat there, mouth full of a really good sub (best since I've moved to Texas), Alonzo came out to clean before closing, he saw me and asked me to wait a minute while he ran inside for something. As he returned, he apologized, they had left off the cucumbers from my sub, and he handed me a container of chopped cucumbers. I thanked him, and then left. I returned there 2 days later, about the same time, got the same greeting, but with a bigger smile. I ordered a different sub, a chili, and a brownie this time. This sub (the Hook and Ladder) was just as delish as my first one, the chili, was good, but not the best I've ever had (but I'm no expert...I'm from Maine where chili isn't as popular...lol), and the brownie, was a bit dry, maybe it had been made the day before? They helped me with the Firehouse Subs app on my phone, and the manager came around, with just as happy a disposition as the other 2 employees. The were sincerely a happy group together. The subs are really very good (hardy...I ordered a large and it's 3 meals for me. There is much more meat than the competitors AND a pickle spear on the side. There's a good selection of add on's, deserts, drinks and chips) and the smiles behind the counter make it taste just a wee bit better, I think. I'm not sure I could have gotten the same quality service going through the drive-through, I usually do drive-thru's, but it was my first time there and wanted to take time to read the menu. Only been to a Firehouse Subs once before in Houston and loved it (got their classic Meatball Marinara) so I was pretty excited when I heard Waco was going to be getting one. STAFF The staff here was really friendly. Soon as I walked in they gave me a "Welcome to Firehouse!" which was pretty cool haha. FOOD One thing I like about this chain is that the food is pretty consistent. They obviously hire really talented managers because the subs at this Waco Firehouse taste just as good as the one I had in Houston, which is wayyy better than your typical go-to sub places (looking at you Subway). I got the Hook and Ladder sub on wheat, and it was great. Everything tasted really fresh. CLOSING THOUGHTS Firehouse Subs has entered the Waco Semi-fast food industry by kicking the door off its hinges. Can't wait to come back and try out the other subs. I give it a 5/5 read more

We have gone into this location a few times since we have moved to Waco and we have to tell you that we love the staff! The clean environment and the sense of urgency from the people that we deal with at the store is AWESOME! The manager is a younger gentleman that really seems to care about the place from the perfection of the food to making sure the staff is working and happy while they are doing it!
