Dave is the absolute man! I lost a Garmin watch while jumping into a waterfall pool on a hike along the Road to Hana. Contacted Dave fairly late in the evening and within an hour or so he had reached back out to set up a call and figure out a plan. Great communication then and at all times after. I couldn't meet him since I was leaving the island soon. The watch was lost up a hike that features multiple river crossings. He tried once, but was unable to get to the spot because of intense river flows. Amazingly, he went back again a few days later and managed to get to the end of the hike and find the watch! This is a long hike (1-2 hours to get to the waterfall), so the fact that Dave did it at all is incredible, but to do it twice and once in dangerous conditions really speaks to how seriously he takes the job and finding whatever you've lost. Further, the water in that area is murky as hell with visibility under a foot. Even though I honestly kind of had given up hope, he hadn't and I'm glad as I otherwise wouldn't have my watch! He mailed it back the same day. It's on my wrist now as a type this review. Seriously, if you've lost something in Maui give him a call as he will probably be able to find it if it's still there. Lost my wedding Band. Called Dave, he answered right away and met me on location within 10 min. He and his friend Bob got busy really quick. Bob on the sand and Dave in the water with their metal detectors. The surf was big and although Dave tried for more than an hour he could not find my ring in the heavy wave action..
