I was on Maui last month for my honeymoon when I lost my blue and white diamond my wedding ring in the ocean. I was at Charlie Young Beach paddle boarding for the first time and after falling off my board I realized that my ring was gone. The water was over my head and I was just frantic that I had just lost my wedding ring. I was so upset when I made it to shore but the kindest woman who said she worked for the police department saw how upset I was and came over to try and comfort me. While vacationing on Maui I lost my $23,000 platinum engagement and wedding ring at Baby Beach in Specklesville. I was laying on a towel and took my rings off to put sun screen on my children and I simply forgot to put my rings back on. Most embarrassing is when we left for the day I forgot about my rings on the towel and when I picked up my towel the rings obviously went flying. To compound matters I did not notice my rings missing until I woke up in our hotel room at 5:30am the next morning. My husband and I returned to the beach and searched for several hours without any luck. A man that locates rings for people with a metal detector was referred to us and he came out to the beach but was unable to find my rings. My wife & I were swimming in a pool at the bottom of a waterfall on the Road to Hana when I noticed it came off. Re: Ring found within 24 hours of being lost in 9 feet of water in a jungle pool buried underneath a waterfall 3/4 of the way up to Hana. I can't begin to express my gratitude to Mac and Joe who were able to find my 7 day old wedding band lost on the road to Hana. I went for a swim in a fairly large jungle pool with a waterfall pouring into it and my band slipped off my finger near the back of the pool in 9 ft. of water. My wife and I were on our honeymoon and this caused major pain for both of us until we called Mac who assured us he would go search for it the next day. As promised, he made it up to the pool and found the ring within hours buried under rocks and about 9 feet of water. He literally saved my honeymoon! Thanks Mac. I'm a 19-year old from Australia, and I lost my GoPro in the ocean. While swimming in the ocean outside our hotel in Wailea, a freak wave crashed me and snapped the wrist strap of my camera. My brother and I searched in the water for an hour or so, hoping it had settled in the shallows, but we were unsuccessful. The next morning at sunrise, my dad spent several hours searching a large area with a snorkel and flippers, also to no avail. Recently in October 2013, I was swimming and playing waist deep in the ocean off of the Maui coast when all of a sudden, I realized that my wedding ring had slipped off and sank to the bottom of the ocean. Amidst my anxiety, I turned around to find Mac McMinn performing his standard metal detection process. My brother informed Mac of the situation and asked him to assist us. I came to Maui for a short weekend visit and was having the time of my life, hanging in the jungle, playing music, meeting beautiful people, and finally on my last night we were having a dance party on the beach. I awoke the next morning, the day of my flight, to realize that my ID, credit cards, cash, and insurance cards had all gone missing. I spent all morning walking the beach looking in the sand and asking people if anyone had found it. We were with a group at a pool under a waterfall on the "Road to Hana." Mac was there diving trying to find a lost ring for someone. He was so thoughtful and courteous suggesting VERY strongly that I take off my recently acquired wedding ring and have a friend hold it before hitting the really cold water. I took his advise and he told our group, staying on shore, that he would stand ready to jump in to help me if the super cold water took me by surprise, All turned out great and Mac was there ready to help us over the rocks. Mac was wonderful. I lost my great grandma's pearl bracelet at the beach while taking our wedding photos, at sunset. Even though it was getting late and he was about to take his lovely girl friend out to dinner, they stopped everything!!!! Mac brought all his equipment and lights.
