This is one of the locals favorite Bar and Grill which was introduced to me years ago. Even though they downsized after the pandemic they continue to thrive. The food menu is just the right size with a good variety of things to enjoy. It's my understanding they will be updating the menu soon. The service/staff has always been good and continues to be very responsive to customers. The original owner did bring the charm/decor of the larger establishment. Parking can be tough but it's worth the walk after you find a spot. So if you are in the area drop in to have a bite/drink, watch a local game or play pull tabs. This is a business we visited years ago when it was at its previous location. This was our first visit to the new location. We quit going to the old location after a bad experience. We thought we would give it another try. The prices are high, $21.00 for a steak sandwich. This would be OK if the quality of the meat matched the price, it doesn't. It was chewy and stringy. Ir was ordered well done, it came medium, very pink. While i went to wash my hands, my husband ordered soft drinks for each of us. When the bill came, it was $33.+ for one steak standwich (we split it) the total seemed high. I then noticed the drinks were $4.95 each. This is gouging. The fries were really good. The sandwich was OK. Two sandwiches and two soft drinks and tip here would be 60.00+.. Too high for the quality of the food. Smokers stand right outside the door and it makes the room smell like smoke. So much so that it felt like someone was smoking in the room. read more

Went to Roadhouse last night, and had a couple surprises. First, we were about an hour away, checked the website to see if I needed reservations ( and they don't take reservations) but the do have a waitlist. Was surprised that at 4:30pm, the waitlist was already over an hour long! So we jumped on the list. Arrived and only needed to wait for about 20 minutes. Was thrilled at the number of different sides - and not all starches! Lots of veggie choices from sweet potato to salad to fresh corn (and what you would expect like baked potato, etc) and more. First time here. Apparently it's a new location for the old Roadhouse bar and grill across from the Sunrise shopping center. Hubs and I stopped for lunch. He got a mushroom bacon cheddar burger and the bacon on it was to die for. Burger was cooked perfectly and juicy. Zero complaints. I had the burger dip. Probably best burger dip ever. Au Jus was not super salty and the burger was actually hand shaped like the soft fresh roll it was in, not an old thin cold hamburger patty cut in half that some places present as 'burger dips' GROSS! The tater tots were crispy and not greasy. Hubby had chicken artichoke soup for his side and said it was delicious! We thought the prices were good for what they served too. Our server/bartender was very friendly, attentive and just very nice. Helpful in offering her recommendations and checked back on us a few times. The atmosphere is for sure what you expect for 'bar and grill', lots of TV's with different sporting events, very cool live edge bars, music at nice level, not too loud. It's perfect for a casual hangout with friends or when you crave some terrific bar food and a cocktail/beer. We were pleasantly surprised and will most definitely be back! After reading some of the reviews on Roadhouse, I was skeptical about going when my friend insisted we go for drinks and kareoke. It was my second to last night in Puyallup, so I figured "what the heck, let's do it." We arrived around 8:15, ordered drinks at the bar and landed a table. Our server, Liz, was awesome. She was friendly, attentive and worthy of a great tip (and a big part of the 4 stars). We decided that we should probably order an appetizer so as not to drink on empty stomachs. This place is not for people eating low carb, but that's okay. They have a pretty extensive menu that includes burgers, tacos, soups and salads. I made an exception and had few pieces of the game day sampler we ordered. It was just OK, but my friends thought it was decently good. The Kareoke was supposed to begin at 9, which is more when the DJ started. I waited a little too long before putting my name on the list to sing, so we ended up bailing before I was up. I was slightly relieved as my friend had built it up way too much. I really liked the vibe of the place. There was a good mix of ages and everyone seemed to be having great Friday night fun. As far as the place goes its ok with plenty of TVs for sports. We made a drastic mistake by ordering the nachos. OMG, they were an insult to the name Nachos. Plane chips with lots of can sauce, a small dumping of olives onions and tomatoes and the tasteless meat. There was no seasoning of any kind, how can you serve this with tasteless meat ? The service was ok at best. Since we ordered soda, once we got our food we never saw our server untill we asked for our bill. So I came and it seemed like an ok place to come in and have a drink or two. My bartender wasn't very friendly but I did get my trash can drink. When asked where the Red Bull was she said that they use RockStar. It tasted really syrupy but I didn't complain. What I'm disgusted about is a male employee who is eating an entire meal behind the counter......on the counter. It seemed ok because the other staff didn't care but as for me, the customer, I really don't want my bartender with greasy fingers making my drink. I've been here for a good thirty minutes and he's still eating. I just find that unprofessional. Ordered wings and jo's, now 17.25 yes really, use to be 13.99. Got an order of onion rings, now 11.25, use to be 7.99. Worst and most expensive order of onion rings I ever had to throw away. Overcooked, flavorless, only got 8, small to medium, rings and about 4 broken pieces. The wings, where do I start. Soggy, not the way they use to be. I currently have them in the oven trying to get them to not taste like rubber. I mean they were 17.25. Never been more disappointed in bar food and prices as I was in this experience and unfortunately the bad taste will stick with me and don't know if I will ever go back. We sat down and waited and waited and waited. We were never even acknowledged by anyone. No hello nothing. After a good 10 to 15 minutes of nothing at all. We watched the 2 servers dancing around behind the bar. Douting on the regulars. We didn't even exist to them. I would give this place -10 stars if I could. I've been in the industry for many years.
