I've been frequenting all Puerta Vallarta locations since 2003, but after last night, something just didn't sit right. We came in for dinner on Cinco de Mayo and ended up paying $83 for two people, each with one entrée and two drinks. I get that it was a busy night, but the value just wasn't there. Prices have gone up quite a bit, and unfortunately the quality doesn't feel like it's kept up. The quesabirria tacos were $24.99 for three, and they came with two very small salsa bowls (both beans) and a small scoop of rice. For that price, it just didn't feel reasonable. On top of that, the tostada I ordered had a soggy shell, which made it hard to even enjoy. I've always liked PV, which is why this was disappointing to experience. It feels like PV has gotten significantly more expensive while the food quality has taken a step back. read more

Took my mom out for dinner as a treat. This place was so so. No one to greet us when we came in and it took a while for anyone to say hello and seat us. Our server was not interested in us after realizing we were not going to order alcohol. The chips were fresh and warm and the salsa was mediocre. They added dried pepper flakes to make it spicier instead of using real fresh chiles. The portions were huge. I did love their refried bean. I ordered the Los Tres Amigos. I was a bit sad that the chile rellenos was omelette wrapped instead of egg batter. It was still tasty. I had asked for corn tortillas and got flour. My mom's steak fajitas were decent. Was a little worried about the cleanliness, we were seated at a table that still had the receipt and the change/tip left on it and not wiped down. Will I go back?? Probably not. Esthetic is clean I would rate it at a 5. We got seated right as we walked in, there was only one other person dining in. We got our menus and the server left us. 5 minutes later we were served with chips and salsa no bean dip and the server left after 15 minutes of waiting we waved down one of the servers to take our order and I asked if I could get a bean dip and was told yes. After taking our order she disappeared again and our food got to our table in a reasonable time without the dip I requested. We only got one thing of flour tortillas for our 4 plates. Save your self the worst service experience and drive the extra 5-10 minutes up to Federal Way. They have better service there. Won't be coming back to this establishment. read more

When we arrived we were seated promptly. A server came our table and asked if we were ready and we asked them to give us a few minutes. They seemed pretty rude about it. We had ordered some margaritas and we wanted one salted and one with whipped cream, when it came out the salted and whipped cream was all in one and then the server proceeded to blame me and said didn't you want all that and I said no we specifically asked for one with salt and the other one with only whipped cream. She seemed to have an attitude towards us, we really just wanted to add whipped cream to the one that didn't we didn't ask them to remake it. The food was ok. It was all very big portions. I had the chicken mole and it wasn't the typical mole I am used to. It was definitely spicy. We had ordered a cheese quesadilla for my son on the kids menu and it was very hard. The cheese was not very good. Probably the worse thing was when we were leaving they were emptying out their septic tank or something. It was so disgusting and horrible to smell right after eating. It was cold so I got the tortilla soup. Not many places have good soup these days. It's close to my house so always a go-to for a meal. The carne asada and arroyz con pollo are a great go to and my picky daughter can get non spicy beans rice chicken and tortillas. This Puerto Vallarta has a lot to top in my opinion as it took over Melaques which was the Mexican restaurant that was here for years before PV came. I have visited several times as it is one of few restaurants in Milton. Their poor service has been consistent here. If you plan to visit be prepared not to have your water filled, your order taken, or even chips brought to you for a while. Tonight specifically when we were having dinner we Sat in the bar. Waters were brought to us right away. My sister tried to grab her to place an order for drinks and she said she wouldn't be out server and they'll be by shortly. When she came about 10 minutes later she took our drinks and brought chips & salsa. My sister asked for beans as well. When she came to check back up about another 10 minutes later we had to ask for menus and follow back up about the beans. Eventually I placed my order and it came out 20-30 minutes later. By that time I was already full off my chips and salsa. As far as the food goes it was decent. Nothing authentic like I would wish. However, I have no complaints. Steak came out as I asked, food was hot and taste was okay. Overall not a restaurant that I look forward to visiting, hence the 3 start mainly rated for the food quality. read more

This Puerto Vallarta continues the quality, service, and menu that all of the others do in the area. Went here for dinner and wasn't let down on any front. Friendly staff, good food, and of course margaritas! From the outside, you would not think it's anything special but once you walk in, it's like transporting you to Mexico! The interior, people and food is much like what you would get in the country. Highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for good Mexican food. read more

This used to be our favorite local restaurant for their street tacos. While the tacos are still good, the prices have damn near doubled. And they now charge a 'to go' fee even on their salsa that's kept in a fridge in the lobby literally meant 'to go'. I just had lunch there. I ordered Chalupa and Enchilada. Chicken had zero flavor. It had been cooked by boiling. The ends of the chicken breast was gray. No seasoning, no spices. Dry. I ordered sour cream and guacamole. Two tiny scoops in one tiny ramekin. Got my bill. $6.95 for the sour cream and guacamole! $27.85 for one lunch! Music was blasting 80's aerobic music. They brought us chips and water and said they'd be right back. 5 minutes later - nothing. 10 minutes later - nothing. 15 minutes later - nothing. I finally just said to my wife "5 more minutes and we're leaving" and she agreed. 5 more minutes and more of being ignored, we decided that 20 minutes of nothing was enough, so we walked out. Ok, so PV is chain sit-down Mexican at its finest. Note that each PV location may have a slightly different menu. This location is especially great because they are often not very crowded. Therefore it is super easy to sit and visit with friends, and I have never had to wait at this location. read more

Based on the review, I was skeptical, but I was in the area, craved Mexican and have fallen out of love with Ranchito's. Last time I was here this place was Melaque, or something to that effect, but I think those places are gone as the last one I saw with in Lacey and I'm pretty sure it disappeared. Puerto Vallarta are all over the place and truth be told, none of them are the same, I assume they are all franchised as the flavor varies at each location as well as the menu in most cases. The reviews here weren't good, but for lunch, it's kinda hard to go wring with Mexican. I had the Carne Asada and have to say for $12, it was a decent deal. Most places don't even have it on the lunch menu, so when I see it, I tend to go all in. Despite claims that the chips taste like they came from a bag, I don't agree. I will say that there appeared to be a mix of chips, corn Red, White & Blue, and flour. Some chips tasted better than others, but I think the texture was dependent on the base of the chip. The salsa was decent, but other location have Salsa Bars, not here. The guy told me he'd make me something special, but it was really bad. I don't know what it was, but it was orange in color and had no heat despite my request for fire. Service was good and the carne asada was packed with flavor. I wouldn't call this a destination eatery and it clearly wasn't life changing, but I would take this place over Azteca any day of the week, and over the Mexican restaurant in my own neighborhood. Decent food for a good price. Kinda hard to be sour about that. read more

This is our local restaurant and the service is usually a hit or miss but we love the food and it's near by. Tonight we had Dashley as our server and she did fabulous!! She was friendly and more importantly attentive to our needs. Eating out with 3 kids is not always the easiest but she immediately sat us, got drink orders and was kind to our kids. Our food came out quickly and she didn't forget to check on us periodically. The check was brought in a timely manner. We will be asking for Dashley every time because her service was and is amazing! Food is excellent. The restaurant itself is pretty quiet. The bar however is another story. Very loud with unfriendly wait staff. My waitress literally set my food down on the opposite site of my table and walked away. No eye contact or acknowledgement whatsoever. Needless to say I will not eat in the bar again. Other than that it's authentic Mexican food and worth the price. Lots of parking. June 24 Gave the bar one more try. Same server. Irene. Let's just say they are lucky the food is good. Irene seems to be a bit overwhelmed and it shows. Again with the loud "regulars ". His name was Ray and I only knew that because he yelled it so loud. I get it. Small town. Take what you can get. This lovely place really only deserves one star, but I'm giving them two because their food CAN'T BE THIS BAD! Can it? Straight to the point here, and no funny business. The chips taste like they are from a bag. The salsa tastes like jarred. Those are the good points. I ordered beef enchilada with rice and beans. SERIOUSLY, no kidding, the ground beef in the enchilada was worse than Taco Bell meat. It was so bad. How do you screw up rice and beans? I say just watch them cook, and maybe their secret will be out. Overpriced and inedible. Stay far away. I recommend the DQ drive through down the street for some quality meat. read more

I've tried over the past year plus to give this place a chance. The service is very very slow. Went in tonight for one last shot and was solidified in my decision about PV. It took almost a half hour to get my beverage. We ordered food to go and waited....... We ordered another glass of wine and an hour into our service it finally came. Our to go order was ready. I had to go up to the bar to pay our bill. Once home, my meal was COLD! The entire entree. I will never go back. The PV in federal way is exceptional!!! The Milton location is terrible!!!! read more

There are several Puerto Vallarta restaurants in the area and this is one of my two favorites. The food is always hot and fresh and the staff and service is never a disappointment! I hate doing this. We first ordered blended regular Margaritas. It was like a snow cone. with a little of no flavor. I tasted my friend's that was on the rocks. Even at the bottom of her Margarita it was watered down. Very disappointed. My husband and I got Arroz Con Pollo. One of the worst we have ever had. Mostly sautéed onions. Very little chicken or mushrooms also a small amount of rice. I have no good reason to go back. With that said. We go to Puerto Vallarta out in Graham, WA. There was a hair in my food I showed my sever who was kind, she apologized and took the burrito away. The manger then comes back over 5 mins later with the burrito with a fork mixing the burrito all around and asks me to show him the hair I told him it was over by where the fork was and the beans in the corner. He basically started accusing me there wasn't a hair and then saying nobody in the kitchen had white hair like the short white hair I found in my burrito. We hadn't eaten at Puerto Vallarta for many months but historically enjoyed going there. With a lively bar, good food and great service we enjoyed the experience. What has happened? We went there tonight expecting to have difficulty getting a seat in the bar because, after all, it was a Friday. To our surprise, the bar was literally empty. From the minute we sat down I could sense things had changed. The once remarkably friendly service was now just mediocre and certainly did not have anything close to a welcoming vibe. To make matters even worse, my tacos arrived cold....refrigerator cold....totally unheated on a hot plate with steaming beans and rice. A drastic change has occurred in this restaurant on many fronts. I suspect it will be months before we consider returning...if ever. read more
