18/20 times I enjoy going there. The ice cream is good, usually not too melty (my trick with the dipped cone is put it up to your AC in your car to re-freeze). My kids and I were driving through the Zephyrhills area when my daughter asked for some ice cream. She had been a trooper, spending the entire day in the car as I worked, so I obliged. I spent a few minutes scanning the streets, looking for somewhere to get our ice cream fix on. All of a sudden, there it was, a building shaped like a giant ice cream cone that read Dave's. The line at Dave's was non existent on this day so we ordered and paid in less than a minute. My daughter wanted a chocolate and vanilla swirl with sprinkles. My son missed out because he fell asleep (a you snooze, you lose type situation). I pulled out my phone, thinking it might be a bit until our order arrived. Nope. Again, less than a minute, my daughter had her ice cream and we were ready to roll. The price of her ice cream was cheap compared to where we normally go. She enjoyed it. You can definitely tell you're out in the country when you visit this establishment. The kids working behind the counter were sweet but a bit clueless. We had to remind the kids to take our money after he had given us our ice cream. Now as for the ice cream , we were expecting a twisty treat ice cream and this definitely is its own version of I'm not sure what it was. Lacking flavor for sure. Everything was disappointing... I was expecting a twisty treat twirl and what we got was not that. So if you see a building that looks like a twisty treat maybe Google to make sure it actually is before you decide to stop. I went to Dave's yesterday (as I do every day) for my favorite ice cream cone, hands down the best soft serve in town. I had just left a grocery store that normally sets the bar for all others, and had a rare poor experience where the cashier at the lotto machine felt it necessary to count her drawer before waiting on me or even acknowledging me with a "hello". Now again, this is rare, but I expect more from this grocery store! Then immediately afterward, I go to Dave's Treats, where I know Alex, Faith, Madison, Michelle, or Stephanie will surely be ready to take care of me the way anyone spending their hard earned money should be! What I would have expected from my last stop with a company that surely does about 10 times the customer service training. Great service, treating me like I'm the only customer there, and thanking me for my business! I don't know what you folks are doing over there, but keep it up! So, this is basically a Twistee Treat, and is located in one of those giant ice cream cone shaped little buildings. Looks like they have a drive thru, although I've only ever seen people walk up to the windows (and on one odd occasion, several people came through on their horses). Large variety of items on the menu, but we stick to vanilla ice cream dipped in cherry or butterscotch as a tried and true favorite. Most everything is pretty cheap, around $2 for a sugar cone, with the waffle cone being more. They also do $1 cones on Wednesdays. Downside is that this is located in Zephyrhills, off 54, but not near much else. Little bit of drive from Wesley Chapel, but the kids love it and it's fun to sit on the tables outside and eat your cone as it melts. Wish the water fountain worked, though, and that the bathrooms were clean (and open for public use without asking the sometimes unfriendly gals at the window for the key, which comes on a 2x4). But it delivers what it promises...ice cream. read more

Was given a strawberry sundae w/ chocolate ice cream instead of a hot fudge sundae w/ strawberry ice cream & on the second visit we were sent home w/ a small sundae rather than a large (which we had paid for). Dave, please retrain the young blonde woman working in the mid evenings on 7/23 & 7/24 (wearing a medium blue sweatshirt). She's a liability to your company. It is a simple task for staff to repeat orders so customers can correct any mistakes prior to mistakes being made. Update: On Friday July 28, this business should have been opened from 11 AM - 10 PM, but it was closed. No sign explaining why...just lots of customer cars driving in then driving away.
