They also have the traditional one which my husband ordered with ham and tomato. Both come with the amazing hollandaise sauce. It's so tasty and irresistible. The service is great. Very friendly and helpful. We didn't get to see Manny who's one of the owners who always was very personable. Definitely this is a must stop if in the area. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and ice cream and sundaes. They have booths and tables in a 50's like atmosphere. People also bring old license plates from where they are from. This place is such a great local spot. The food is always so good here. It's always made to order with fresh ingredients. They serve a large variety of food from breakfast to dinner and everything in between. They have an excellent selection of delicious desserts! You have to try their cakes and ice cream!!! We stopped in on a Sunday night. They do not serve avgolemono soup on Sundays. I had the gyro platter which is served with the same serving size Greek salad as ordering a small Greek salad. In the center is a serving of potato salad which is blended so no potato chucks can be tasted. The salad is seasoned well but with all the ingredients cut so small everything gets lost in taste. I'm not a fan of the creamy dressing. The gyro plate is served with a nice allotment of fries which were very good. Soft on the inside and a nice brown crunch on the outside. There is also the veggies for what is served with the gyro, here it was the onion, tomatoes, and lettuce. It would have been nice if that had been seasoned but not a big deal. The gyro itself was a thick cut and bland. The tzatziki sauce which is made here is missing a dill flavor. Service was good and they're consistently busy, so people like what comes out of the kitchen. For me, it was a three out of five, and I wouldn't come back for this particular meal. read more

We stopped by for diner ,recommended by a friend ,my wife got the crispy chicken salad and when it came after 20 minutes. The chicken was so tough you could not even cut it with a steak knife, we tried getting a hold of our waitress she kept going the other way, so when we did get her over showed her the chicken she even said that was dry and you can't eat that. But she said that will be 40.08 not even let me take that off or i will take 10 off ,nothing stood there wai for me to pay!! I wish the owner good luck after this post never again for us!!! Eaten breakfast here three times. Service was friendly & there is a waiting area to sit while you wait for your table. The decor is filled with license plates & has a breakfast diner feel to it. Hightops, booths, & traditional tables are the sitting options. The place is clean & parking is not too bad as it's in a strip mall. For food, I've tried the biscuits & gravy, the dessert style pancakes, & the dessert style waffles. Biscuits & Gravy is a simple dish but can go wrong if not done right. In their case, the biscuit was nice & moist but the gravy was just too heavy on the salt. Scale the salt back & add a bit more pepper & they'd be solid option in my opinion. The dessert pancakes & waffles I felt is where they shined brightest. Presentation was good as were the options for toppings. My first visit when I had the pancakes was great, the more recent visit was the waffles but it was just way too much whipped cream & overwhelmed the dish. I'd order those again but def scale back the whipped cream or remove it entirely. I can't speak on any other items from the menu just yet as I haven't tried them. Pricing is reasonable, & overall it's a nice spot. I would return again. read more

Greeted and seated immediately. The manager came by to see if someone had gotten our drink orders, they hadn't yet, so he made that happen. The menu is spectacularly long, making it difficult to choose just one. Ended up with country fried steak with a white gravy and (because I love them) a double side order of southern style green beans. Portion size was ginormous and a box was required to take a lot of it home. Ambiance is country store-like but bright and spacious. It will take several trips to try everything that caught my eye on the menu and I look forward to returning. read more

We loved this place! My husband's barber told him he just haaaaaad to try this diner, and wow....he wasn't wrong. A few highlights: the salad dressing is so amazing we asked about buying a bottle to take home and sure enough, they sell them. Soooo good! The soup was outstanding. The meatloaf and gravy was so tasty and the potatoes were not instant! Clearly, everything in this restaurant was from scratch. The greatest highlight was Connie, our server. She is a dedicated brand ambassador for this place. She truly has a passion not only for this restaurant but for what she does and she is absolutely fabulous with customers. She shared a lot of things about the menu and definitely didn't steer us wrong. She also shared that we had definitely come on the right day because it was one dollar ice cream day! Having the ice cream at the end of our meal was just perfect. I chose the banana pudding ice cream and it was delicious. The place was nicely, decorated and very clean. Two stars for lunch for the Gyro had two slim pieces of meat, one tomato, barely any onions and a drop of sauce Also went out to brunch. Service was slow took 15 minutes until the waitress showed up to take our order as there was three of us not on a busy day, our server we just kept on by passing our table and we always had to flag her down. Several times, and If we needed something extra that took 10 minutes or longer , For, our food I had a omelette that was cold. I asked for gravy on the side, for my french fries never did receive Along with refills for my iced tea. I asked several times wasn't pleased. with our service tho I would get five stars as the staff is friendly. It's just not the same as like the restaurant used to be as they've been cutting too much corners on the food. So I will give another chance. We waited 30 minutes to be seated, and it was well worth it - this place is fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious. The gravy and biscuits were incredible; the biscuits practically melt in your mouth. I also loved the Avocado BLT- it was fresh and so flavorful. Our server was attentive and kind, which made the experience even better. Can't remember if there was music playing, but if it was, it wasn't too loud as you could easily have a conversation with the person next to you. Today was the first time we've eaten there and it was very good. The restaurant was very clean and bright. It was crowded but we were seated immediately. Our server was very friendly and took our order quickly. The small Greek salad was tasty and big enough to share. The gyro was delicious. I was happy to see they had liver and onions and I really enjoyed it. It came with two sides and the green beans and mashed potatoes were very good. In reading these reviews, there's a lot I agree with when it comes to the Sunrise Eatery. Yet we don't tend to go here very often. There's a few things that get in the way of this being an experience that we crave, though it is good. The food here is always hot from the kitchen, and there's a lot of it. The issue for us is a dietary one. Since we eat low carb for health reasons, the majority of the plate is carbs: bread, potatoes, etc. Again, nothing wrong with that fact, but when we substitute low carb items like sliced tomatoes for potatoes, two thin slices of tomatoes in place of what amounts to a cup and a half of fried potatoes makes the plate look a little thin. There could be some better substitution items. When we've asked before, we've also been offered fruit, but, again, for diabetics, fruit is not a good option. The other issue that exists is one that is difficult to avoid and really isn't the fault of the restaurant but the clientele. Since the restaurant is in Zephyrhills, the patrons are much older, and many can't hear well. That means they shout their conversations rather than having them at a normal volume, and in this spacious dining room, that means that it can get quite loud, indeed. If you're going with a group of people, you might struggle to hear conversations across the table. The restaurant is always clean, so we never hesitate to eat there. And the service is always friendly. We go when we want a good diner staple, like meatloaf. You won't go away hungry if you're not on a dietary restriction. read more

Loved the considerate staff members. They were constantly checking on us even after the food was served and food was served in a reasonable time. The portion size was big. The highlight for us was that some of friends were not in mood of breakfast and their lunch/ dinner menu was a great option to go for and everyone had a meal of their choice. The friendly and casual ambiance made this restaurant attract families with kid's though but all age group can enjoy a casual breakfast/brunch. Went here a little late one night when me and my friends had a snack attack. We picked here after looking at pics & reviews and we liked the variety that was offered. We walked in and it looked promising. They were busy but not too busy to seat us. We sat down and were a little overwhelmed by the vast menu. But eventually I decided on the garlic parm wings & a strawberry shake. My buddy got a giant sundae. We were not disappointed. I was mildy disappointed the wings were taking a long time so the sundae and shake were long gone before they arrived by but had them pack it to go instead and just ate them later. Very good food. We stopped in for a late lunch. I had the Mediterranean chicken and it was extremely good. Sides were steamed broccoli and side salad. 4 stars because steamed broccoli was a weird consistency (and I eat lots of steamed broccoli). Also my husband's gyro platter was light on gyro meat and Greek salad used iceberg lettuce instead of romaine. My mother-in-law had spaghetti and meatball. Portions were a good size.
