I was in a lot of pain and my anxiety was at an all-time high. The first time I called I spoke with Tracey and she was absolutely amazing. I'm a Medicaid patient, and I know that sometimes comes with judgment and potentially an unwillingness to treat patients. Not here! Tracey listened to my story and was able to get me in. She was exceedingly kind and empathetic. When I arrived, the office is nice and clean looking and easy to access. Dr Montané spent a lot of time with me going over my x-rays and what my current problems were. He described the various options that I had and the pros and cons. He took his time with me. I never felt rushed, and I felt as if all of my questions were answered thoroughly. When it came time to inject Novacaine, he has the most gentle hand ever. I've now been there twice, and both times I've just had such an unbelievably amazing experience. He and his staff are wonderful and if I could give more than five stars, I would. If you are someone like me who has a lot of anxiety with dental work, this is definitely the place you want to be. The work is top-notch and the entire staff truly cares. I'm very disappointed in how this dental office handled my billing and insurance estimate. Before a…read morerecent procedure, I requested an estimate of my out-of-pocket cost and was told in writing it would be $275, which I paid in full at the time of my visit. Two months later, I received a surprise bill for an additional $598 -- more than three times the original estimate. When I asked for clarification, the office explained that they are out-of-network with my insurance provider. At no point in the written estimate or treatment plan was this mentioned, nor was I warned that this could result in significantly higher costs. When I raised these concerns, they claimed they had verbally disclosed their out-of-network status during a consultation over a year ago. I do not recall such a conversation, and regardless, this critical information was completely absent from the written estimate I received at the time of scheduling the procedure. Despite my efforts to resolve the matter respectfully -- even offering a partial goodwill payment -- the office and owner ultimately stood by the charge and stopped responding to my emails after a single reply. I believe patients deserve clear and transparent financial information, especially when given a written estimate. Omitting important details like network status and potential insurance penalties is, in my view, both unprofessional and unfair. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this office after such a costly and frustrating experience.

The billing manager who sits at the receptionist desk sent my bill to an incorrect address (major HIPAA violation). This upset me very much. Additionally, the bill was for an amount in excess of the agreed-upon treatment plan, and there were no details as to what the extra amount was for. In speaking with the billing manager, she promptly hung up on me. I called back to talk with Dr. Rizwan to advise him of the situation. The billing manager sarcastically replied, "He is busy. Oh, don't worry, he will get the message and call you back." Three weeks have passed, and Dr. Rizwan has not returned my call. I believed we had a good dentist-patient relationship. However, I was wrong. It has been three weeks, and I have not received a response to date. I referred people to the Kentlands Dentistry practice, and they will not be returning because of this. Shame on the billing manager who felt so comfortable hanging up on a paying customer and for her very unprofessional manner. I am also disappointed that Dr. Rizwan would allow such an employee to work there and behave in such an unprofessional manner, and that he never returned my call. I thought I had finally found MY dentist. Very disappointing to say the least. Maybe the billing manager was a family member of Dr. Rizwan's, but she was horribly rude and upsetting. A HIPAA violation is taken very seriously and cannot be ignored.

Today was my three year old's first dental visit and this is now the only dentist I will ever take…read morehim to, no matter where we live! He took to the books and toys available in the neat, clean waiting area right away. The front office staff were incredibly kind and helpful. The dental hygienist came to get us and was so incredibly warm, bubbly, and friendly! She had an infectious grin and laugh and praised him right away for practicing his "ahhhhh" on our way to the exam area. She gave him choices of colors for sunglasses to wear so the bright light didn't bother him, choices of toothbrush colors, and went back and forth the whole time between addressing us, asking us questions, giving us information and interacting with him. She followed his lead on everything! She listened to him, she gave him space when he needed it, and told us her goal for the first visit was to introduce him to all the elements and tools of a dental cleaning - the mirror, the saliva sucking tool, etc. She listened to the way we prompted him and supported him and quickly used a lot of the same language when working with him. The dentist then came in and picked up right where the hygienist left off. He listened to us and to our little guy, gave him choices, gave him space, and was able to change his approach quickly and easily if he could tell what he was trying wasn't working. He even asked the hygienist to grab some prizes in order for him to see them in the hopes it would encourage our little guy to participate when he was feeling ready to be finished. The dentist wound up billing us at a reduced rate because we didn't get the full cleaning and exam and asked us to come back in order to do the rest of the appointment at a later date. When making the appointment, the receptionist made note of any characters or small prizes our little one is most interested in. He is already talking about getting more red race cars the next time he goes to the dentist! I can't recommend this place and its staff highly enough!
