I have been coming to Dr. McNay for a few years now. He is the first dentist to really make me comfortable with Dentists in general. The whole staff is gentle, friendly, efficient and professional. I hardly ever have a wait time. They give you the price clearly up front and will work with you if pay plan is needed. I've has a few emergencies and they were able to fit me in. I sent my husband here too and he also has had a lot of bad experiences with some Dentists and now loves this place. They tell you what your issuers are, they don't pressure you into service you don't need, they partner with other professionals if you need work beyond their scope. Truly a pleasure to come here. I was looking for a new dentist and found rave reviews for Dr McNay on Yelp. I had a cracked tooth and some pain and he referred me to another place to get a root canal. When I returned to his office after the root canal, I was worried that I would need a crown and I didn't have insurance so I was expecting a large bill. He told me that we could do a filling instead which was so much less expensive and I verbally expressed my relief after I was given the price. Without even looking in my mouth again or skipping a beat, he immediately raised the price by a significant amount for the same procedure with a weak explanation as to why. At that very moment, I felt the lack of trust starting to grow but I went ahead with the filling despite feeling like that was an unprofessional thing to do. Even the dental assistant looked up at him shocked when he jumped the price. I decided to get over it and went ahead and scheduled a cleaning. (at this time I also got some dental insurance) The cleaning was so painful and they used pain medicine on the gums which I have never needed before at any other dentist office. I was thinking , wow my teeth must be in bad shape. Again, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They recommended that I get an extra cleaning in 3 months since my teeth and gums were in such bad shape. Then at the end of the cleaning, the dentist comes in the room and tells me I have 5 cavities. I couldn't believe it! I really felt like it was wrong and since the price hike this was the second warning bell. I never was shown x-rays either. I went ahead and scheduled the appointment for the cavities which was a few months away. I just couldn't shake the feeling that I couldn't trust him. My gut finally told me to cancel the appointment. I just returned from seeing a new dentist. The cleaning was completely painless and no pain medication was used or needed. They even told me I had beautiful teeth. This new office made numerous attempts to contact Restoration Dental to send over the x-rays that they made so I wouldn't have to pay to have them made again because insurance only covers one set of x-rays per year. Restoration Dental did not return any of their phone calls which the new office seemed really surprised by. Overall, I am so glad that I trusted my gut and didn't go back to this office. read more

I was in need of a dentist badly. I've lived in ATL for ten years since transferring from Nashville and have not had a good experience finding a dentist. I was experiencing major teeth pain and decided to check the internet in the Buckhead/Brookhaven area. There was only one dentist that had a 5-Star rating. I call Dr McNay's office number but the office was closed . A recording provided a number to text Dr McNay with my problem. Dr McNay immediately replied and called my pharmacist in an antibiotic and texted he could see me on Wednesday. I called his office Wednesday morning and was able to be seen that afternoon. After x-rays, I was told I needed two root canals. Dr McNay was gracious enough to provide me with two options, either have them performed that day between his other clients or come back on Friday (the office was closed) to perform the two root canals. I elected to come back Friday. Upon arriving, Dr McNay and his staff were just finishing a team orientation meeting. I was escorted to a room to perform the two root canals. Dr McNay and his dental assistant were first class. I've never had a better experience having a dental service performed. I am to return in a month to finalize my root canals. I cannot say enough how wonderful this Dentist and staff are. I can honestly say I have finally found a new Dentist for my family. Dr McNay even texted the next day to follow up on how I was feeling. read more

Blown Away!! I recently met Dr. McNay through my boss in the Brookhaven area. I had a broken veneer, so I was eager to find an affordable yet professional alternative to buying a whole new veneer. Veneers are rather expensive on a server budget! Dr. McNay is hands down, the kindest, most accommodating, and most professional DDS I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He truly cares for every one of his patients. He took me in as if he had known me forever and valued my health overall. He took care of my broken veneer. (A cosmetic problem, but it really makes a difference in ones confidence!) ADDITIONALLY, he graciously took a look at the rest of my mouth and recommended some additional fillings that I desperately need. Instead of just fixing the veneer problem and ending the appointment, he made me feel completely taken care of, without pressuring me into treatments I didn't need. I never felt rushed and I felt all of my questions were answered. Overall, he is kind, genuine and cares deeply for his patients. He, his office, his staff, and his bedside manner are all top quality. From my initial call, I knew things would be different here. Janell had the most pleasant phone voice of any front office person I have ever spoken to. (Seriously, it's worth commenting on.) When I found out my insurance was out-of-network, she assured me it would be worth it. And after only one visit, I can say she was right! The office is serene and could double as a Restoration Hardware showroom. There are even private treatment rooms overlooking the shops on Dresden. Dr. McNay was warm and quite funny, a stark contrast to my prior dentist. And I saw him right away, something that doesn't usually happen most places. I knew I needed a lot of work done, but he didn't chastise me and I didn't leave clutching my wallet. Janell and Housthon, the dental assistant, are equally fantastic. I relocated to Atlanta two mths ago and I was looking for a dentist. I looked on Yelp and I came across the reviews for this dentist. When I arrived the receptionist was really nice. The wait was not long at all. When I was seated, the Hygienist Kendra was so pleasant and sweet. I have a fear of hygienists being to rough and leaving my mouth achy and in pain but she was absolutely gentle. She lightly numbed my gums as she did her deep cleaning. I didn't feel any pain later that day or the next day which is a major plus for me. This will be my dentistry. The cherry on top for me was when I was able to watch TV as I got my teeth cleaned. Let me start by saying I am generally not a fan of the dentist. It is typically a painful, grueling, yet necessary task that I begrudge. That said, I have been to many dental establishments in hopes that I could find someone I could abide. I had seen Dr. McNay at his previous place of employment, but based on the model, it was rush the dentist in and out as fast as possible, so I did not really have a chance to get to know him. Pan to Restoration Dental... WOW! This is actually kind of an...enjoyable, extremely comfortable, laid back atmosphere, no rush. And when was the last time you had the dentist do your cleaning? (uh... never.) Overall Restoration Dental has been the best dental experience I have had. Dr. McNay is personable, funny, and does a damn good cleaning. He took the time to go over current state as well as potential future concerns with no pressure, but simply proactive concern. BTW... Janell is a joy! It might seem odd to write a review after only a cleaning, but my wife has had work done there. She insisted I'd love the place, and she was right. First off, I really appreciate that they took the time before anything happened to make sure I knew that my insurance doesn't consider them "in-network" so I wouldn't run into financial surprises if I needed major work done. (Thankfully, I didn't) They staff are wonderful, starting with Janell at the front desk. She's on top of every issue and consideration a patient or potential patient might have. My hygienist had me relaxed within a few minutes of starting the cleaning (quite an accomplishment in my case,) and she finished it without a hint of discomfort. As I say, Dr. McNay has not yet had to work on my teeth, just an assessment, but he gave my wife a crown, and she's delighted with his work. He has an entertaining and easy-going demeanor, and explains everything in terms you can understand. Basically, the whole experience is one of personable, caring competence combined with a genuine one-to-one willingness to get things done and solve any problem. I'm happy to say that both my wife and I go to Restoration Dental now. (Our son loves it too.) read more

The office is new and beautiful and all staff, including Dr. McNay, were exceptionally friendly. I had x-rays done earlier this year, so I asked my old dentist to send me the x-rays and I forwarded them to Dr. McNay's office the day before my appointment and there were no problems or delays. I had a wonderful experience with Restoration Dental. The receptionist, Janelle, is a sweetheart. She's very warm and makes you feel welcome. The atmosphere in the office is very "homey". It doesn't feel like a doctor's office. I never have to wait more than 5 minutes. I hadn't been to the dentist in many years, so I was pretty embarrassed to see him the first time. However, he made me feel totally welcome and comfortable. The dental assistant was also very fun and comforting. I've always been terrified of the dentist, but after my experience with Dr. McNay and staff, I can honestly say it was a pleasant experience. No pain at all. He's totally knowledgeable and funny, and had two cavities filled and a chip in my tooth fixed in just 30 minutes! I would definitely recommend Restoration Dental to any of my friends and family.
