I've been going to Dr. Ashpole's office since the early 2000s, since I was a young girl- and she and her team have always taken phenomenal care of me. My dental hygienist, Jennifer, is absolutely wonderful--she's kind, patient, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and caring. I trust her completely with all my dental hygiene needs. Even though I live less than five minutes away from two other dental offices, I still choose to travel 45 minutes each way just to see Jennifer and Dr. Ashpole. Dr. Ashpole is fantastic! I saw her for the first time today after she was recommended by a friend. She was able to deal with the aftermath of a broken tooth, decay, and a root canal that had left almost no tooth in an impossibly narrow space. She did spectacular work, and Juliet is an artist when it comes to making temporary crowns. Dr. Ashpole is funny, talented, and kind, and everyone in the office made me feel welcome! read more

Where to even start!! There a clinicians with amazing technical skills and clinicians with amazing bedside manner. But it's challenging to find one with both. I have been seeing Dr Ashpole for 15+ years (when I first moved to ATL). Now she also sees my wife and kids. They all love her and her staff. I have had a few dental issues over the past year and she has gone above and beyond. She's taken me on a weekend when I had an emergency and she's incredibly responsive anytime something comes up. Picture this: you are driving and eating a snack when your crown falls out of your mouth. Your dentist is out of town and you don't know what to do so you call your spouse (who is out of town) for help like they would know what to do. Oh and it's almost 4 PM! Well, this is true. I was out of town and my husband called asking what to do. I have heard amazing things about Dr Ashpole for years, but my dentist was fine and I was happy. This was an emergency though!!! I called and spoke to the receptionist, who was super nice, and explained the situation. She put me on hold for less than 30 seconds. When she picked back up, she said she could squeeze him in at 8 am the next morning as a new patient and would get his tooth fixed. When you hear about great customer service, this would be an example of it. My husband said that everyone at the practice was super nice and even hinted that I should consider making the switch. Knowing all that they did for us, they will almost definitely be getting a call from me to be added as a new patient too! Thank you for saving his tooth...and my sanity! read more

No one likes going to the dentist but I can't imagine anyone not liking Dr. Elise Ashpole and her practice. She isn't in my insurance network and I still won't go anywhere else. Latest good experience: I had a pain in a tooth and got an appointment in two days. I probably could have been seen sooner but it wasn't a lot of pain and I told them that. They brought me in, took an x-ray. Dr. Ashpole came in, poked around the gum area, numbed me up and then called in the hygienist. She and Dr Ashpole poked around some more and cleaned the gum area with ultrasound. They both ruled out a few diagnoses, decided I needed to see a periodontist and sent me across the street. Before going, Dr. Ashpole gave me a painkiller prescription (I need it now). The good part: she wouldn't charge me anything. I was only there about a half hour but I had an x-ray taken, was set up by the dental assistant and examined by two professionals. And then provided a prescription. All free. My other experiences - cleaning and cavity filling - have all been excellent. I'm not going anywhere else for dentistry, even if I have to pay 100% myself. And it seems I'll have trouble doing that if she won't bill me! Oh yeah, and they're all really nice. read more

I am always so happy when I am in Dr. Ashpole's office, it's like a Meg Ryan Disney movie in her office. Seriously you feel like there are cartoon birds and rabbits following her cheerful self, as you hear her go from patient to patient. It's such a happy uplifting place and she does fantastic work and is always thinking of your pocketbook... This is even after I just had a crown (done by a different dentist) redone! I can't say enough about how wonderful she is. Genuinely caring about who you are as a person. Best dentist I've ever had and I'm 55... So I've been to quite a few. My appointment with Dr. Ashpole included an x-ray and an assessment of a severe toothache in one of my molars. Tracey, the administrator, was extremely accommodating during my initial phone call -- fitting me in the next morning and letting me know about the new patient forms available for completion from their website. It was clear when I arrived that their office had a packed schedule, and it was no surprise. Dr. Ashpole combines confidence and knowledge with excellent "bedside manner". Rather than criticize whatever behavior may have led to my situation, she showed sympathy and explained what the options were to move forward. Juliet, Dr. Ashpole's assistant, was also quite courteous. When I left, it was apparent that they did not intend to "nickel and dime" me for their time and work. I have been coming to Dr. Ashpole for 6+ years now. I have never experienced a more professional and pleasant staff in my 30+ years. Everyone here is courteous and the work they do is second to none. Even though I live in Buckhead, I would not consider switching to another dentist, they simply are the best. That's my word and I'm sticking to it. read more

Sad to leave this review and this dentist as we loved Dr Ashpole. I strongly agree and can confirm other reviews here about how condescending the office staff and manager Wendy are to deal with. My 6 year old son had a stomach ache the day of an appointment...about 2 hours before his appointment he got worse and started throwing up. Wife calls in and let's office know. Laurel indicates that if he doesn't come in they will fine us $50. Based on their direction to bring him in my wife drives him over. While waiting in the lobby our son goes to the restroom and is throwing up again - my wife immediately let's laurel and Wendy know that she can't make him suffer through a dental appointment while he's sick like this.........They then say AGAIN that if they leave she will be fined $50!!!??? I totally understand that patients missing appointments is a hassle for them but the way they treated my sick child on that day and threatened a fine over my wife's head is unacceptable. I tried to call and reason with Wendy but she was extremely condescending and cared more about her hygienists missed appointment than the health of a child throwing up in their office. Dr Ashpole is a wonderful dentist but we will take our family elsewhere in the neighborhood. read more

I love her. I had not seen her in years, but she came in on a Sunday to help me. Needless to say I'm seeing her tomorrow to work on what was started. She had NO reason to help me, but she did. This might be a little unfair as Dr Ashpole herself is a good dentist. However, an issue with their scheduling practices is what has resulted in this review. In August, I had my first appointment with them and everything went well, no cavities! Today, I receive a call at 11am that I had missed my 9:30 appointment and that my wife had missed her 10:30 appointment. Neither of us had a clue we had an appointment! Neither of us made the appointments, and neither of us received reminders regarding the appointments. Once I called them back, I was informed that I would be charged $50 for each "missed" phantom appointment. Naturally, it's time to find a new dentist. They were also completely unhelpful in addressing the problem, and I got the sense they thought I was lying when I said we did not make the appointments. Why on earth my wife who is a physician and has her own extremely tight schedule plan a dental appointment 6 months in advance for herself, and me, and not tell anyone about it or mark it in her calendar, I have no idea. Suffice it to say, this is no way to run a business. I feel for the doctor because she has just lost a number of customers due to the actions or her staff. read more

Elise Ashpole is, flatly, awesome. I went to her after a traumatic experience with another dentist left me with crumbling and unfinished fillings; she saw me very quickly and took care of everything. She understands about cost. I have a (dead) back tooth that broke after a $2K restoration; it doesn't bother me, and she's the first dentist I've seen who hasn't insisted I pay another $2K to get it restored again...she recommended it, but she didn't insist, and she hasn't brought it up since. I LOVE THAT. She's also working with me to find remineralizing alternatives to fluoride (I'm hypothyroid). She charged me half of what I expected to pay for the work she performed. I lost a filling on one of my wisdom teeth last night. I called Dr Ashpole's clinic this morning and they were able to see me the same day. After a brief exam of my tooth by her assistant Dr. Ashpole spoke to me about my options: install a very expensive crown, remove the tooth (ouch) or grind down the surface of the tooth to eliminate rough spots. Due to my limited budget and aversion to pain I went with option #3 and so far this solution seems to be working. Dr. Ashpole and everyone at her clinic are friendly and professional and actually make going to the dentist an enjoyable experience. read more

Dr Ashpole along with the entire staff go beyond ordinary to extraordinary! I've had chronic tooth issues my whole life and I'm all to familiar with the dental chair and a long line of dentists. Dr Ashpole is by far the most experienced, efficient, friendly, and HONEST in the business! She has salvaged many of my major dental issues into low cost yet completely effective alternatives. Dr Ashpole is the most professional, friendly, helpful and courteous dentist I have had the pleasure of visiting. My family love her and all the technicians and staff. Going to the dentist used to be such an ordeal, but after going to Dr. Ashpole i always leave there feeling good about the visit and how pleasant the whole experience was. I originally had an appointment in January with my husband for a cleaning, but needed to be seen sooner for another issue & I was worked in considering they aren't taking new patients right now. The ladies in the front office were so pleasant and helpful and made my first impression an exceptional one. Dr. Ashpole is very personable and doesn't push unnecessary treatment if unneeded and I appreciate that. I would recommend everyone, however I want to make sure I can get in. I have lots of experience with dentists, and Dr. Ashpole is the best of the bunch. I've been going to her for 8 or 9 years, and I haven't had a single negative experience. She knows her stuff, is as gentle as a dentist can be, and empathizes with any pain you experience. All of her staff are great - super nice, very competent, and easy to work with. I've recommended this practice to lots of friends, and every single person who's gone there has good things to say. I have several friends with intense fear of dentists, who hadn't gone to the dentist in many years who have gone to Dr. A and come out smiling. I pay too much for bad dental coverage because she's not a member of my company's DMO, and it's absolutely worth it. If necessary, I'd pay straight out of pocket. read more

I guess I always expect to hear it because it's true, but I just don't want to be reminded. Dr. Ashpole is the only dentist I will go to because she is honest, a rare quality among dentists. After my prior dentist Binh H. Nguyen, DMD suggested I had 3 cavities I was suspicious. A friend recommended Dr. Ashpole. 8 years later, Dr. Ashpole still haven't discovered these imaginary cavities. I am so thankful to have found her. Based on my experience with Dr Ashpole, I would definitely not recommend her. I had been seeing Dr Ashpole for about three years. She did a white bond filling on one of my front teeth which came out. I scheduled an appointment to have the filling redone. When I went back to have the filling redone, she was working on another patient in a different room while she was attending to me. When she came back into my room, she was preparing to give me a numbing shot for the procedure. She started looking in my mouth at another tooth on the opposite side of my mouth. She had gotten confused about which tooth she was supposed to be working on. I had to tell her which tooth she was supposed to be working on. Otherwise, she was ready to give me a numbing shot on the wrong side of the mouth and start working on the wrong tooth. I went ahead and let her finish the procedure, but I decided at that point to get a new dentist. When I went to my new dentist, they found some major decay under a crown that Dr Ashpole had done for me about three years earlier. I had been seeing Dr Ashpole for regular cleanings and checkups during this time, and this decay was never detected by them. Thankfully, my new dentist was able to save the tooth. If it had been much longer, the tooth would have been unsavable. The white bonded filling on my front tooth that Dr Ashpole redid had become chipped and cracked, so I also had that replaced by my new dentist. I am thankful that I found a new dentist in time. read more
