I have been a State Farm customer since I got my first car back in another decade (won't say which one). My agent was in Berkeley and my poor little VW bug was hit twice (while parked) in two months. I was given $$ right away and was able to fix the poor fender both times. Years later after a period of not having a car--I got married, we got a car and moved out of Berkeley. Our original SF agent was on the San Pablo Ave in Richmond location--once again SF came through a flood claim, a mini tornado claim, a couple of other claims which I won't get into detail about to protect the innocent (us) and a mishap to our son's car where the culprit actually left a long note and called the police to make a report!.. We recently had a claim on a rental car and that was cleared up right away. David Recorder and his staff moved from the Richmond location (pictured here) to their present office in San Pablo. The office space is larger and there is parking (which was difficult at the Richmond location). David and his staff are always friendly and helpful. I walked into the first office by mistake and the his brother Guillermo guided me over to David and his team next door. I felt as if I was in a first class lawyers office and David's team was so professional and very knowledgable. I give him a 5 star. I work in the health field and called this office out of desperation to get information about a patient's coverage... Francisco answered the phone he was friendly and helpful. I called him back later that day to discuss insurance options for myself... I went in to meet Francisco in person... the red walls of the interior were a little bright on the eyes but sitting down and discussing my insurance options with Francisco was a great experience. I usually picture sales guys like used car sales men. I try to avoid them at all costs. Francisco was friendly and genuine. He wasn't pushy but informative and I felt he looked out for my best interest. At the end of our conversation... Let me tell you, I've gone down the rabbit hole of trying this insurance vs. that to get a better deal or better customer service and this is an office I NEVER see myself leaving. This office is the only office where the entire staff has all the answers, patience, and availability to you that you could ask for. Email, phone call, text, or in person they are always happily ready to help. Jacky has helped me even BEFORE I switched to their office when I was having a thousand issues with Ahmad's office right down the street (zero stars for them). Jacky's patience and empathy is a main reason I was willing to try Statefarm again but with a different office and I'm SO glad I did! Last night I was waiting for assistance since 8pm. I received a texts stating that someone would be there in within 60 min. No one ever arrived. When I called dispatch he told me the driver should be there any second. I kept waiting for over 30 min. The driver calls me and tells me he will be there in about 12-18 min and another 30 min pass and there is no driver. I call him back to see where he is and he told me he was having trouble with his truck overheating and now he has to call dispatch to send me another driver. Mind you, I had to call the driver to get an update. They didn't even bother to let me know what was going on. Dispatch never got back to me so I called the insurance back and told them what was going on. They assured me that they would send another driver. Mind you, I'm 8 months pregnant, just worked a 12 hr shift (which I told them) I just wanted to get home. I received another text saying they would send me another driver within 20 min AGAIN, never arrived with no call. Again I call the insurance and asked if they can call a different tow company and they did. The insurance told me they would ask for emergency road side assistance due to my situation but then again they said another 45 min until they get to my destination. I was waiting, tired, stressed out crying in my vehicle because at this point I'm already waiting 3 hrs so I called my husband who had to come from home about an hour away with my 1 year old daughter in the cold just to help me because I felt like the tow company would never show. I WAS RIGHT!! My husband showed up about 56 min later (even before the tow driver) who said would be there within 45 min. My husband ends up fixing my tire and I'm heading home. I get home around 12:10 and about 10 min before I get home the driver calls me and asks if I still need assistance. I told him no because I was already going home. He said okay and hung up. A couple minutes later I received a text telling me my service was complete and how I would rate my service. COMPLETE?? They never showed up!! This is extremely unprofessional and very disappointing to know I can't count on my insurance and the tow company they work with for an emergency. It's so sad!! read more

Agency is decent as long as your incident occurs during regular business hours and can actually talk to a person. If you get patched through to corporate to handle a problem, you get lost in the phone maze vortex. There is NO way to leave a voicemail for the agency after hours. It all rolls over to corporate. My main complaint- Beware if you need roadside assistance! Their service provider partner Ajera (sp?) is a very poor performer. Super lame to wait 9 hours to get a flat tire fixed, 2 hour wait for a jump start. When I finally spoke to someone at the Agent's office (not the agent) I explained my horrible experience (with the 9 hour wait, including missing a wedding i was to be a part of). Opined how this service provider is underperforming for thus State Farm customer and jeopardizing my relationship with State Farm. All they could offer was apologies & empty promises. Really frustrating to pay for roadside assistance as part of your premium only to be treated like a number. They should dump thus service partner. read more

I swear the most friendly office ever. Not the kind of friendly where they treat you like your stupid but the real kind of friendly. The office has pretty girls working there and the men are not bad looking either. I did learn that State farm does offer ALOT more then insurance. It really made my choice easy they cater to all dialects and all people.
