From the moment I called the office I was graciously greeted. I Wanted to see the Dr that day because I was in terrible pain. They got me in and after an x-ray Dr. E said I had a fractured root in a root canaled tooth. I didn't know but the root being fractured causes an incredible amount of pain. He went over my options with me and listened to all of my concerns being: fear, expense and time. He came up with a plan to extract the tooth, do an immediate implant (that day) and put a bone graph around the tooth so that it would be secure. The surgery was painless, I got to sleep through it and I felt no pain. It was done Thursday morning and I was fine the next day. He said it would be sore for the next couple of weeks while I was healing and I only had to take 1 pain pill! I was back at work the next day! His staff helped me with the insurance and also got me qualified for care credit so I could make affordable payments over 3-6 months with 0 % interest. I didn't even remember the day of surgery! It was fantastic. I went 3 months later and it was totally healed. I was concerned about the color being right since it was a front tooth and he has this machine that matched my implant crown to my other front teeth. I wanted it to look natural so I whitened (which his office does FREE for every patient.) Very cool. When do dentists give out free whitening and it's for LIFE!!! The implant crown looks better than my old tooth (it was too dark, dark line around tooth that I hated around the gum line) and that's because he used the long lasting kind or porcelain so it would look great and be strong. Needless to say, he was cheaper then the other dentists I had gone to for a consultation. He also recommended a nightguard and thought that was why I broke my tooth in the first place. I can't sleep without my nightguard anymore. My TMJ problem went away right after the new crown. Listen, I read what some of the others wrote on here and was skeptical. However after this experience it was so great I sent all my family and friends there afterward. Thank you Dr David and Staff. I'll be going there from now on This guy is not only good, he's great! And I didn't have to go to multiple dentists to get the procedure done because he was trained and trains dentists all over the country to do this procedure which was very assuring. If you want a kind, compassionate and great person, I would highly recommend Dr. David and staff as he even called me that night to see how I was doing. How many dentists do that? If I could give him 6 stars I would, but hands down the best surgeon and procedure I've ever had done! read more

Well, I am a person who values excellent dental care and takes very good care of my teeth...as I feel it says a lot about a person's self esteem as well as, exemplifies good health. It's essential to have a dentist you believe in and with whom you feel you can get the best dental advice and care. I have been going to Dr. Epstein for 3 years now and absolutely feel he is by far the most thorough and gentle dentist I have ever been to...ever. I go to him twice a year...for cleaning...I've had the whitening (which is amazing)...and I've had a couple crowns and one filling replaced. The thing I have to emphasize is he is so gentle, I have NEVER felt a thing...and I use to be so skeptical and squeamish of dentists...so, to me this is a huge deal. On top of all this, he uses the latest technology...I find it fascinating to watch him at this one computer, designing my tooth/crown right in front of me...and then, in that SAME appointment I get to walk out of his office with my new porcelain crown...!!!!...no waiting for two weeks with some "temporary crown" that usually falls out at least once...with more trip(s) back to the office to fix that...AND...no more dark blackish/gold line up against the gum line with the old-type crowns. They are amazing and I love how efficient it all is. I wouldn't go to anyone else. In all my dental experiences...he by far exceeds. If you want great dental care check him out. And I have never done a "Yelp" review before, but, I was so impressed by Dr. Epstein...and know how hard I looked before I found him, I thought there might be other people like me out there, who might want to know. Oh, and one more thing...after reading about some of the other reviews and one in particular who spoke about Dr. Epstein's staff...I have to say...perhaps they/she may have had a bad day...or the person who wrote it had a bad day and misinterpreted a communication...because...we all fall into that category from time to time...but, I can honestly say, I have only experienced very polite, personal communications by all his staff...with a genuine interest and warmth. Just felt I needed to add that...as in my 3 years and a lot of trips to his office...it has been consistently professional and very personal. I also feel this YELP site can be helpful as well as, harmful...I'm still a bit skeptical...I don't really know if I like the idea yet...and why I have not done much with it...until now. I am attempting to repost this because yelp removed it. Not cool, Yelp. Not cool at all. Posted this last week from my Mary S account, user since 2009. ------ Great DDS. I was referred to Dr. Epstein on a Sunday with not one but two infected, impacted, wisdom teeth. On a scale of 1-10, I was at an 8 of pain. My fault, thinking it would just go away. He took my call on that Sunday and had me scheduled for an extraction that next Tuesday AM. Prior to the extraction he got me all the prep and post meds and clear instructions I would need. His staff took care of all the insurance logistics on my behalf which is a huge relief considering that is the last thing I want to deal with whilst in tremendous pain. Morning of, I show up higher than a kite and am greeted with smiles and warm assistance. In and out of surgery in what seemed like a blink of the eye but that is not what is most impressive. What I am very thankful for seeing THIS oral surgeon is that one of my wisdom teeth was not only impacted but also buried into my jaw and nested in a coiled nerve. One flinch and I could lose feeling in my face/mouth. It needed to be carefully dissected out. Post-op, he called to check on me regularly and monitor the progress from same day and for the following days until my next check up. Meanwhile, his staff was also making sure I was healing up well and understood all the care/instructions to follow. While all this is happening, the healing, etc - his office management staff took care of my insurance claim. It shouldn't be but it is rare to have a doctor treat you with the human compassion balanced with talented professionalism as Dr. Epstein. He was a great referral to me and I gladly pay that referral forward as well. read more

Smiles for miles!!! Dr. E and his team are simply the best! I started to go to his office 5 years ago after being with my past dentist for a decade. I needed a dental implant and was looking for a office that specialized in implants. I loved that Dr. E was the only dentist in Marin that was board certified in implants which made me feel so much more at ease. I am so happy I found his office, I had no idea what I missing out on and wished I would have found him earlier(would of saved me a lot of money too)... The technology is top of the line (he took a CT of my mouth for my implant in his office) and his focus on total body health is refreshing. He connects the dots on how our oral health is important to our full body health. His cleanings are like nothing I have had before... This is not your basic cleaning. He uses this cool device that get rids of the biofilm in your mouth, stains on your teeth and it whitenings your teeth all at the same time. So cool! Lauranne at the front is a joy! She is so helpful and patient answering my many questions, hand holding me through my dental implant surgery and always has my insurance checked letting me know what my co-pay will be before my appointments. Plus she always will get me in for an emergency same day. Nice to have a dentist on standby. I cant believe I am saying this but I enjoying going to the dentist. To be totally up front, I had the pleasure of working along side Dr. Epstein for 6 years as his assistant and front office employee. I no Longer work in dentistry after developing an illness. I needed emergency treatment on a molar , my crown was loose, this tooth has been through the ringer and I knew it would need to be extracted, needless to say it was an infected mess and I knew I could trust Dr. Epstein to take the best care of me. Her researched my illness, spoke with my doctors and plans made. Then the infection started in the gum, they got me in the next day. Absolutely no discomfort at all durning the procedure, frankly I slept through most of it! I left with the infection dealt with, the tooth gone, a bone graft and implant in place now the healing process begins. My entire family began working with Dr. Epstein when he began his practice in Novato. I find the staff completely capable and kind. Dr. Epstein knows I hate shots and he takes great care to make me as comfortable as possible. I am offered a blanket when I am cold, a pillow when my neck hurts, and my music if I ask for it, all in an effort to make the experience better. I grew up without the ability to have work done on my mouth and the work that was done filled my mouth with lots of big ugly metal fillings. Over the years with Dr. Epstein we have removed all of the metal and replaced it with beautiful composite or completely realistic and comfortable crowns. I also have one implant that feels like the real thing. Dr. Epstein knows my family, asks about each one of them, and always takes the time to listen. I never thought anyone could ever replace the wonderful dentist I had growing up. But Dr. Epstein has. He is confident, efficient and extremely capable at what he does. But what I believe sets him apart is the real concern he has for his patients' comfort and well-being. When I walk into that office, I know I am his number one priority. I have been a patient of his for the last 5 years and I won't go anywhere else. I live in the city but I will drive the 45 minutes to Novato just to see him. His office is attractive and clean. I've been embarrassed with terrible teeth all of my life, for two reasons actually. One, because I'm deathly afraid of having anything to do with a dentist and two, I'm not exactly rich. I was referred by an existing patient who is a long time friend of mine. I decided to be brave and have the work done in the US. Dr. David was amazing. I have been a patient of Dr. Epstein's for a year now and so appreciate the wonderful experience I have there. The office itself is soothing and calm and I am even offered coffee or tea. Everyone who works there is very friendly and professional and makes me feel at home. But, what I truly value, is Dr. Epstein's expertise. I have alwarys received a phone call the day after treatment to check on my status, no matter what treatment was offered. Dr. Epstein has been my dentist for more than 2 years. I was referred here from an existing client, and from the beginning the staff made me feel like family, the Lady who cleaned my teech couldnt have been more gentle and understanding to being sensitive, we all have had those crazy lady's with Jackhammers in there, and it sucks. I have been treated routinely for periodontal disease and other perio/dental issues that need attention.
