Went into David's office for a check up and found out I needed to have a root canal. I was hesitant / nervous but the staff and David assured me on the procedure and methods. Did someone say Root Canal? *runs in the opposite direction* I received a referral from my primary dentist to have a root canal done. I have a very low tolerance for pain and I really hate having major dental work done. Needless to say I didn't get it done right away. Let's just say I was supposed to have this done 48 months ago. I know, I know...... This wasn't a great idea but I was lucky. After I began to have pain in the tooth I knew I needed to have the procedure done. I called and scheduled the appointment in August and the staff was very accommodating. I explained my situation and gave them my information and I was set. They took care of all the insurance and were very good about communication. The day of my appointment I was very nervous but once I was back in the room with the doctor I felt a sense of relief. Dr. Kelliny was very welcoming and attentive. He explained my options and assured me the procedure would be virtually painless. He was right! Once I was numb I didn't feel anything. I had to have my root canal done in two visits and both were equally pain free. I had a little discomfort the next day but that was temporary. Dr. Kelliny saved Christmas, literally. My daughter flew home for the holidays and had severe pain in a new filling. I left a message for Dr. Kelliny on Sunday night and early Monday morning his staff called and fit her in for a consultation that day. The xrays showed she needed a root canal but even though he had no openings until January, the doctor and staff moved things around and agreed to give up their lunch break on Dec. 23rd to perform the root canal. The procedure required anesthesia and went very well and by Dec. 24th the pain was gone and our family was able to enjoy Christmas together. Honestly, who wants to get a root canal?!? Not this guy, which is why I ignored it for over 10 months and paid the price in pain. Well, all for not. Dr. Kelliny was amazing. It is one day later and I can actually chew on my right side with no pain and no pain killers. The man is a root canal Michelangelo. The place only has three rooms, so was not overly crowded. It was intimate and made you feel like Stephen the patient, rather than the 2:00pm appt. Plus, they have the digital x-ray machines, which I like. That is all. I had been turned away by several other places during a dental emergency, but Kelliny Endodontics welcomed me. I was in severe pain and in tears. The staff truly made me feel at ease. Procedures and payment were explained fully. I had an amazing experience again yesterday in my visit. This is my 5th time coming Dr.David Kelliny over the spain of 16 years. He did my first rootcanela 16 years ago. All the dentist I go to and specialist complement his precison and cleanliness of the 4 rootcanels I have gotten done by him when I go and get my crowns put onto the tooth. DR. Kelliny makes sure you are comfortable physically and emotionally before he starts the procedure. I am usually very nervous and anxious when I get work done on my teeth and try to avoid it. The most recent visit I had with Dr. Kelliny to have him address an infection that had accured from a fractured rootcanela that I have done 14 years ago. I was putting off getting my rootcaneled molar fixed for 8 months because I did not like the options my dentist explained. 1)remove it 2)part of the root removed but may fail again. I put off and the pain would come and go. But recently it came to the point that I could not bite on that side with troubled tooth. I went to Dr. Kelliny trusting his judgment he said that the infection was getting really close to the nerve and he referred me out to a specialist and asked the specialist to book me as earliest appointment. I was scheduled for a next day appointment and the tooth was removed and I was placed on antibiotics and will go in with the sergeant for a follow up appointment in 2 weeks. read more

I can't say enough about the positive experiences I've had with Dr. Kelliny and his staff. My most recent event involved a painfully infected large tooth that I neglected over the Covid shutdowns. The pain would range from a 2 to a 10, but it was inconsistent and most offices were closed so I powered through with ibuprofen when needed. I later learned that I would have been seen as an urgent patient had I called in; my mistake in not doing so. By the time I went to my dentist. he found that the tooth was severely infected and referred me to Kelliny Endodontics. The tooth was a mess. Dr. Kelliny showed me x-rays, explained the dark areas indicating a massive infection, and described that the tooth was also slightly loose and compromised due to the infection. He wasn't sure if he'd have to remove it, or if he could try to save it. He presented my options and fast forward to today - I have have a solid, snug, beautiful crown over a pain free tooth. I am beyond pleased with the outcome and remain impressed with Dr. Kelliny's fine skill and patience during the process (it took a few sessions and a bit of planning). I have had my (sizable...) share of dental work done in many places and I never left a review and, as a matter of fact, I don't write reviews for pretty much anything. Unless, I run into something truly first-class, like in this case. I had two complicated procedures done by Dr. Kelliny over the course of a couple of years: a root canal on a tooth in very bad shape and a double extraction/dental implant on two broken/damaged molars. In both cases, it was by far the best experience I've had in a dental office. Top-notch imaging equipment, very clear explanations about everything, professionalism and obvious technical skills, very clean and precise work, zero discomfort during and after the procedures. I was especially impressed by the virtually complete lack of any pain and soreness once the anesthetic wore off, just a couple hours after receiving two dental implants in my jaw. My opinion: it doesn't get better than this when it comes to dental work. Very highly recommended. read more

Just had root canal at Kelliny's establishment, and the only noteworthy news was that I fell asleep a couple of times during the procedure. I figured it was just the sleepy music until I was reminded by several other people afterwards that root canal was supposed to be painful. Well obviously somebody forget to tell these people. I was informed about every step of the procedure before it happened. They did an excellent job of communicating - including listening to one question and one comment I had, and then responding with thoughtful responses. Although the outside of the building is a bit underwhelming, one step into the front door reveals a professional and successful company. Plus, the location is very convenient in terms of location, with plenty of parking just steps to the front door. read more

Unfortunately I have had several root canals. Fortunately my dentist referred me to Dr. Kelliny. I am always greeted with a warm friendly greeting by the Office manager and Sarah. Karen, his dental assistant who takes my Xrays, is gentle and provides me with the least discomfort as possible. Once his staff knew that the office was cold (because of the gowns, N-95 masks, face shields that they have to wear) and provided me with a blanket (How sweet!). Dr. Kelliny, is always professional and explains the procedure in a way that I can understand and throughout the root canal process he constantly checks on me to make sure I'm okay. Root canals are not the most pleasant experience, but Dr. Kelliny and his team makes it as pleasant as it can possibly be. They are also in an easy to find location with plenty of parking. They keep the office clean and well ventilated. I highly recommend Dr. Kelliny if you need a root canal. read more

I love Dr David Kelliny, I was dealing with a really aggressive tooth infection and he is so patient in helping me. Thanks to him, My infection is gone. His office staff on the other hand I wish would've been more helpful in the payment process as all the did was try to pawn me of onto that lousy company care credit who doesn't do anything for people who have to deal with a bad credit situation like myself and had nowhere to go for help. If his office staff were a bit more accommodating in trying to help people who have credit problems instead of pawning them of as someone else's problem, In trying to work out a payment plan instead of making people suck up the pain of a tooth infection till they came up with the funds for the help they needed, I would give 5 stars. read more

We really need something between those stars... though, I would probably ask for a different referral should I ever, hopefully never, need this kind of service again. Dr. K has a sign at the desk offering a drawing for those who do Yelp reviews, now, it does not say it has to be a positive review, I'm just saying... I came in with "Care Credit", a way of making payments, and commented it made it possible for me to afford the work, having a year to pay. That would have been the time for the receptionist to mention that Dr. K want's his charges paid in six months. Dr. K has a very nice manner and was very reassuring about the durability of teeth after a root canal. But, I had pain, really serious pain when the work began... he would do another injection (very gentle) and there would still be intense pain. It seemed they did not believe me (people fake pain?). Eventually Dr. K figured out a test (not of the pain really, but to prove I was feeling it), he did a different kind of injection and the pain went away. He later explained what the situation had been. Sadly, the assistant seemed stuck in the idea that I was being a problem... when she was taking x-rays to check the work she told me to move my tongue to a side... my mouth still had equipment in place and I couldn't. I tried to communicate that with gestures. She became irritated, scolding as if she were dealing with difficult child she said "YOU need to relax!". I was surprisingly relaxed considering the amount and duration of pain before a solution had been figured out... I finally managed to get her to check the tools in my mouth, instead of an apology she said "Oh". Finally back at the desk, the fees were a little higher than I had expected and I was told I had not one year to pay but six months. Dr. K told me to discontinue my antibiotics, glad I did not, the area become very inflamed and the antibiotics were extended (bacteria under a filling was the original problem). He was right about me not needing the strong pain killer my dentist had written, it was tender but not painful. Time will tell if it was successful. Dr. K had a great manner, in spite of the challenge of getting to this tooth, the amount of tools in my mouth, the many procedures that went into it, it was surprisingly easy (after we got past the intense pain part). Dr. K has a very gentle and efficient manner of working and, I don't know the field but had an impression of the latest techniques. I just wish they had believed the pain earlier in the procedure... read more

I recently had a very complicated procedure that Dr. Kelliny handled brilliantly and quickly. I had a massive abscess that could have led to some serious dental issues. Dr. Kelliny and his courteous staff had me in and out of his state of the art facility within 24 hours of my call. The procedure was a challenging one as I presented in extreme pain, with bad swelling that had developed overnight, and suffered from a bad battle with nausea secondary to an allergic reaction to a pain killer. Despite the challenges with my condition and the massive abscess, Dr. Kelliny and his staff patiently got me through what turned out to be a successful procedure to drain the abscess. Shortly after I left the initial visit I was pain free, no longer nauseous and I craved a cheeseburger. After several follow-ups along with the root canal, everything seems to be going great. As far as the pricing goes, it was much lower than many local endodontists charge for a non-emergent procedure. Ironically, my mother, who was in the middle of a root canal at that time paid almost double to her endodontist. I actually tried to get into him first but they could not fit me in. As a former medical malpractice defense attorney who worked on many dental malpractice cases, as well as a very happy patient, I can confidently refer Dr. Kelliny to my friends, family, clients and colleagues. read more

Receptionist was rude and arrogant. They were running a whole hour behind and didn't have the courtesy to advise us of the delay. When we told them we were leaving, receptionist had the never to say, "Wait, wait, wait. You were early for your appointment so we are are only running 40 minutes behind". Lol! I have had 4 root canals done by Dr. Kelliny (what can I say... I have bad teeth:( ) and each and everyone of them has been a surprisingly pleasant experience; from the prompt appointment to the pleasant staff to the super clean office, but most of all Dr. Kelliny. Like most people, I have a low pain tolerance and a general fear of all dental procedures, and most often u do not see a specialist unless, there is something wrong and/or a great deal of pain is involved. It was a miracle!! 4 or 5 years ago I had a root canal at an endodontist in Thousand Oaks. During the procedure one of the files broke off in my tooth. The endodontist spent several hours over two visits trying to remove it but finally gave up and left it in my tooth stating, "It SHOULD be fine." Well, years later it got infected and I was in some serious pain. I was referred to Dr. Kelliny by my dentist and told he is one of the best. Dr. Kelliny had me come in as the last appointment of the day with no other patience side by side so that he could spend whatever time needed to remove the tool from my tooth. It wasn't easy. The previous specialist had damaged the top of the tool trying to remove it and left it tapered so there was nothing to grab on to. After about an hour and a half he succeeded! By the way, during that hour an a half I never felt any pain, in fact I almost dozed off at one point; he is very good! The nurse and I clapped when he held up the file freed from the canal...then he went ahead and re-did the treatment on that tooth. Its been 2 days and I am in no pain and am very happy to know that I don't have a metal file in my tooth anymore! I have had 5 root canal procedures over the years with 4 different Doctors and I can tell you that Dr. Kelliny is the best there is!!! read more

I had seen Dr. Kelliny to have a root canal done. He told me that there would be no problem with the root canal (even took xrays). After opening the area he told me that he was unable to perform the root canal and I would have to have the tooth pulled. He charged me a hefty price for 20 minutes. I have never been rushed out of a chair so fast. The good news is that I had the root canal done by another dentist and the tooth is doing very well. read more

Dr. Kelliny did my root canal and everything seems to be fine. I had d cracked tooth and he explained that going in he would have to see how bad and deep the crack was, and that he may have to extract the tooth or I would be bad to have it extracted eventually. No root canal is fun, but he did a nice job, changed bits alot, used the latest technology and I was happy once it was done. I was in terrible pain before ithad been done. I felt nothing during the procedure. I would recoomend him to others for sure. I did need to take of the next day from work at the area was sensitive the next day also. I will be coming back as I have the same problem on the other side..I will let you know how that goes. read more

I met Dr. Kelliny when I was in severe pain due to a cracked tooth that needed a root canal. He was able to see me immediately and relieve the pain. Because the tooth was infected, the procedure took a few weeks to complete and I really appreciated Dr. Kelliny's conservative approach to wait for the tooth to settle down before completing the root canal. He was available to talk to me at any hour of the day- even when he was out of town for a couple days. Lo and behold, a few months later, another tooth cracked after a cavity was recently filled. The dentist didn't see the crack but I wanted to have Dr. Kelliny look at it with his advanced microscope and he saw it. This time, the tooth wasn't infected and Dr. Kelliny performed the whole root canal that very day. I know that if anything comes up, I'm in good hands with Dr. Kelliny and his team. read more
