I was referred here by my primary care doctor to discuss some eyes issue. I had an appointment at 9:50am for new patient intake. I waited over an hour and still hasn't been seen by the doctor. During that time I witnessed another patient left after waiting for 45 min, another patient that had a minor surgery scheduled only to be told that the office made a mistake by scheduling him with a doctor who doesn't take his insurance as was asked to come back. Patient after patients are asking when it will be their turns. I spoke to man who is a patient said and he said the long wait time is common here. I have been to many doctor offices and never had this long of a wait time. I don't understand show you can expect people to wait over an hour for an exam or eyes check up that probably take less than half the waiting time. Needless to say I left at 11am and will likely take my service elsewhere. read more

Beautiful place, ground level, large parking lot so far so good. We've been coming here for years, however, our 2021 appointment was a painful experience. Overbooked appointments made the place crowded. Feeling of assembly line and lack of care for patience. The technicians did the tests and placed the patients in rooms. I would give it no stars if I could. Long time patient. Drs are not the problem. The staff is. I booked an annual exam for my husband and I in September. I called to confirm the week of the appointment which was on 1/16/2023. I called the morning of the appointment to ask if they still require masks. I told them my name. I said I would see you soon. When we arrived for the appointment they said they called on 1/13 to cancel. I said what number did you call. The number they called was our old original landline. I told them a long time ago to update our number to our cell phones. They never did. They said we called the cell phone number and left a message. I said if you would have done that would I be standing here at 9:30 in the morning for my appointment?? We just walked out and I did complain the next day to the office manager. I also had a big complaint about another staff member in the back office. Very rude and disrespectful. In the past they have notified us by text and voicemail on our cell phones. I recently discovered the Davidorf Eye Group referred to me by my family physician. I knew nothing about this office or eye surgery, but I sure did get lucky! The office is very organized, extremely clean and sanitary and technology was up to date. I needed cataract surgery on both eyes. My 85 yr old mom needed cataract surgery. We were referred to Dr Davidorf since he is the busiest cataract surgeon in the community. We were not disappointed. Dr Davidorf's expertise and skill is truly amazing. The procedure took less than 15 minutes, with very little pain. He was very informative during the consultation and thorough with follow up. The office staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The office wait times was a bit longer than one would ideally like, (kind of expected when your doctor is in high demand) , but was worth the wait for the quality of eye care that you get. Ugh! This place is a factory. You get on a conveyor belt and dumped off after they've taken your $$$. I had continued with them for years for eye exams and glasses. It was when I needed lasix surgery and actual medical *care* that threw in the towel on Davidorf. After discussing my personal issues with Dr. Davidorf and being reassured that he was mindful of my fear and likely reaction, he completely ignored everything we had discussed. He left me unattended in a hospital prep area for several hours during which everything escalated to HORRIBLE. ...before he even deigned to show up. It took me *years* to be willing to risk it again on my second eye with another ophthalmologist who, BTW, made it simple, quick and totally non-anxious. Do yourself a favor. Dr. Davidorf surgically implanted contact lenses in 2006. He worked out a way to do this with minimal out-of-pocket expense and I have been happy with the results ever since. He took time to go over every step of the recovery before the surgery. Everything went according to plan. I came in a few weeks ago for a check-up after not seeing him for five tears. He remembered me and all the steps we went through after the surgery. We went over the status of the implanted contacted lenses, how much longer before I should consider replacing them, and how my vision was doing overall. read more

I highly recommend Jonathan M. Davidorf, M.D. if you ever need an Ophthalmologist or an Optometrist. Not only is he professional and has excellent bedside manner, everyone employed by Davidorf Eye Group is first-rate. Dr. Jonathan M. Davidorf and his father (Bernard Davidorf, M.D.) run this practice and only employ competent Doctors (such as Dr. Gellerman, M.D.), nurses, and front desk clerks. Dr. Jonathan M. Davidorf also is a Co-Director of Friends of Vision Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides medical and surgical ophthalmologic care to underdeveloped nations. A few years back I almost lost eye sight in my left eye due to incompetence of some Optometrist who missed the infection. Apparently I caught something in my eye that turned it bloodshot red and caused sharp pain. The first Optometrist I went to told me I just irritated it and that it needs eye drops. (I wish I remembered who this jack ass was.) Next day when the pain got worse, I wasn't able to reach the first doctor because he left on a vacation and someone recommended Dr. Davidorf. After explaining my problem, his staff got me to see him that very same day. In five minutes he knew exactly what was going and prescribed drops to fight the infection. It turned out that if I waited another day or two the damage to my cornea would have been permanent. Though because it did take so long for me to get proper treatment I now have to wear glasses when I drive or in class. But I'm scared to think how bad my eye sight would be without Dr. Davidorf. Not only is the doctor himself very reassuring and very experienced, his staff is also top notch. Everyone is always on top of things, very attentive and professional. They have no problem spending extra time with you to explain everything in detail. Their office provides LASIK eye surgery, though I haven't done that so I can't comment. I felt that I didn't need the eye exam because the prescription was fine and just the lens broke. Instead of having me make an appointment, take the time to go to their office and shell out co-pay, they just did what was best for me and not what was best for them. I had LASIK with Dr. Davidorf and I am so so glad I did. Every aspect of the procedure was so easy, despite how nervous I was. Every person I spoke with in the office was kind and personable and I enjoyed each visit. Dr. Davidorf has a very pleasant demeanor and that really helped to calm me during the somewhat unpleasant (though very, very fast!) procedure. He took the time to answer all of my questions and I really felt comfortable and taken care of. And I just want to say again, everyone was so fun to talk to! I'm so annoyed right now! Had my appointment on April 1, was told my contact prescription was the same and decided not to order any new boxes. I had some at home and they're cheaper at Costco. I check it against my previous prescription when I get home and it's not the same. I get ahold of the dr and she tells me it's the same as last time, but since it isn't written the same, there was probably an error on the one from last year. Awesome. I've been wearing the wrong contacts for a year. I get to Costco about a week and a half later to fill the prescription and order some; the optometrist there tells me that these contacts don't exist in the brand ordered for me. I finally get ahold of the dr a few days later and she realizes that she made an error. She'll order a trial pair of the new contacts and they'll call me when they come in. It's been two weeks since they ordered them (it is May 2nd today) and they're not in. I've called twice. They're "waiting on one eye," I was told the first time I called. Today I was told, "They've been back-ordered for two weeks. We should get them anytime." Was anyone going to ever tell me this info? It's been more than a month since my appointment and I am still without contacts due to doctor error, delays, and back-ordered contacts unbeknownst to me. So annoyed!!! Maybe I will be able to see clearly in the next month or so! read more

The charged me as a "second visit" for calling the doctor about a follow up for the medication she prescribed me for my eye that was making my eye WORSE!! This is very long overdue. I have been seeing Dr. Davidorf for well over a year. Before I found him I was going from eye doctor to eye doctor and didn't like ANY of them. He is super nice and really knows his stuff! He's always on top of the latest technology and advances in the field of Ophthalmology and was able to treat both my high eye pressure and floaters with laser treatments. No other eye doctors ever offered this as a solution. He also did Cataract surgery for my sister which was absolutely perfect. His office staff is great as well. For over 30 years I never thought to have a lasik eye procedure, due to an extreme fear factor. In late 2019 I started to reconsider because my contact lenses caused me continual discomfort and I found i was always squinting. I was also needing to remove and rinse my contacts multiple times per day, and dealing with spotty lenses despite nighttime cleaning and removal. I was at my wit's end! My husband had outstanding results with cataract procedures done by Dr. Davidorf, so I decided to have a consultation. Dr. Davidorf suggested a mono-vision modification for me and i was provided with contact lenses to simulate that effect, for a "trial run". That prescription worked well for me, so I scheduled the lasik procedure. Not only did Dr. Davidorf show genuine care and concern throughout, answering a multitude of questions and putting me at ease, but most importantly he performed a perfect procedure that gave me relief I appreciate every day - and 20/20 vision! I have been a patient at DEG of Dr Davidorf and Dr Vartanian for years. Yelp removed my previous 5 star review because they claimed it's biased. Well, it may be or maybe not? All I can do is share my experience for others. Dr Davidorf is awesome and advised I should not have LASIK surgery because of mild nearsightedness. This slight myopia will give me extra years of not needing reading glasses and I pretty much use glasses when driving. Other ophthalmologists were willing to do my surgery. I think it takes a great surgeon to recognize and say "no" when it's in your best interest. Dr Vartanian is very knowledgeable, professional, and fantastic. She has worked me in her schedule when I needed to update my contact lens prescription. I have always had perfectly comfortable contact lenses prescribed by her, even a few colored prescription lenses just for fun. So, hopefully Yelp will allow my review to stay as it is my personal experience with these doctors I want to share. They are professional, best in what they do, incredibly smart and look out for your best interest not to fatten their pockets! I just had Lasik eye surgery yesterday with dr davidorf. I've never had such a pleasant experience in a doctors office from start to finish. From the front desk to the doctor himself an absolutely exceptional office. 5 minutes after my surgery I was seeing almost as well as I used to with my glasses. Had my Lasik surgery last week with Dr. Davidorf and it has been truly life changing! The appointment process was easy and his staff was very welcoming and fun (which helped ease my nerves preparing for the procedure). I really appreciate how caring and compassionate Dr. Davidorf and his staff are; they really took the time to get to know me as a patient. The recovery was very fast and there were no complications. The office prepared me for all possible temporary side affects from the procedure (temp. Light sensitivity, minor dry eye) so I was well informed and recognized when those side affects were happening and how to handle them. I've been here for 40 minutes for an appointment 30 minutes ago. I've been told I was the next person (while 3 people have gone before me). Also, ZERO communication with me when I checked in that the doctor was running late. I had to ask 15 minutes after my appointment what was going on. Update: Just took me back. Didn't even have an appointment for an eye exam. Only had me scheduled for a follow up. Then told me there is a an extra fee on top of my co-pay for the prescription for glasses. Horrible customer/patient service! I was a brand new first time patient with an appointment on schedul. Waited an hour to be called in and was never calle. asked the front desk what was the backup and was told only one doctor was in the office that day. Told the scheduler overbooked not knowing there was only one doctor on service. After an abother 15 minute, I walked out!
