Short version: CALL THEM! Good followup, showed on time, fixed my Samsung gas dryer quickly, and at a fair price. if you're out of warranty, don't bother calling samsung or their authorized repair companies. Longer: Dryer is 5 years old, and wouldnt spin. Called samsung, they told me warranty is only 1 yr, so its not coverd, but referred me to two authorized repair shops. Both have horrible reviews on yelp. Still called them, and they never even called me back to setup the repair visit. Called David's, and a nice lady(Bill's wife?) called me back in about an hour, and we booked our time slot for quote/repair. I was given a 3-4 hour window in which they would show up... which makes sense considering, there's no way to know for certain how long a repair visit before mine will take. Asked them to give me a call on the way. Bill (business owner) personally made the trip and called me on his way as promised. When Bill got here, i explained the issue, and he guessed it would likely be one of two problems based on his 20+ years of experience. He also told me what each of those would cost to repair. Upon opening up my dryer, he was correct, and it was one of those two problems. My belt tensioner pulley had broken and he replaced with an upgraded one and even showed me how the new part was more efficient. Whole affair took maybe 30 mintues, including Bill's courteous vaccuuming of lint inside the body of the dryer. Dryer now works great, and it was a very pleasant experience. Bill was courteous, professional, and just a nice guy. On top of everything else, i told bill i was having a minor issue with my second fridge and he actually explained what the problem was and taught me how to fix it! He said it was an easy fix, and since that kind of problem can be a chronic issue, he felt it just made more sense to explain to me how to fix it so i can handle it in the future. Did not charge me a penny for that nugget of info. Now i know how to keep my dedicated beer fridge in good order. THanks Bill! read more

They charge a lot more and where David's was open and would show you what a part would cost, the new owners mark up the parts and charge a lot more. After reading the reviews on David's appliance repair and called, they never mention that this business is bought by Mr. Appliance. I had Mr. Appliance serviced our dryer before, the repair fee was pretty expensive. I thought giving David's appliance repair a try and to support Upland business. I had to pay $160 for someone to come out and hoping they would be able to fix it since they will include $160 towards the repair. Well, the repair is going to cost more than when I purchased it. $650!!!! I appreciated the honest answer and suggestions on what brand to purchase if I were to get a new one (it seems pretty obvious just to buy a new on instead of repair that only gives one year warranty on the repair.) I just threw $160 away for a 10 minute consultation. Please change the business name to Mr Appliance. read more

Called Daivid's to fix a dryer. The technician quoted me $300 to fix a $600 dryer, and he even said wether replacing the part would get the machine to work or not. Complete rip-off, not recommended. Was able yo have some one come out and check our dish washer on a Saturday. Dave was really good about following safety precautions ++. Seems like an honest, friendly and courteous company. Recommended us to run a wash cycle because there was too much soap causing the float to not work properly and then run a cleaning agent. After he left we couldnt get the dishwasher to run the rinse cycle as he recommended. No water going into machine. We will need to do a follow up service call :( read more

Ok so I called David's because of the 5 star reviews. But found out for myself why they have them. We had a cook top that wasn't igniting. Advised David we are selling the house and didn't want to put more into it than I had to. His honesty in letting me know that to get it going again would exceed my budget and what the unit was worth was so great! I know nothing and was at his mercy. Our refrigerator stopped making ice so I did the "usual guy thing" and tried to find out why it was not working. My dad used to repair the big commercial refrigerators, commercial air conditions, and restaurant ice machines, so since I watched him a bit I figured I may be able to fix it. Haha, the jokes on me since it was beyond my ability to discover the cause of the problem!! However, I was ABLE to vacuum behind the refrigerator. Since I have been writing reviews on Yelp I thought I'd look for a company that repairs refrigerators. I discovered that David's Appliance Repair was a local company and has many very happy customers that have rated their service/ability very high so I called them on July 14th. I was greeted very warmly and I set the appointment for the 15th. Dave (not the owner) came out, diagnosed the problem within a few minutes, and gave me a very reasonable price for a complete repair. The service charge was waived since I had them do the repair. Today, the 16th, Dave repaired the ice maker. He told me that the unit was not "sweating out the ice cubes" and the "heater" had stopped working. Okay, "sweat" & "heater" are new words for me when I think about refrigerators. "Sweat" is when the ice is released out of the tray to be caught into the ice bucket below and the "heater" is the part of the ice maker that heats the ice just enough so it will separate from the ice maker. Yes!!! Success!! And I thought that learning another language might be a tad difficult.... Anyway, Dave is very knowledgeable, friendly, a very good teacher, and a very nice man. There needs to be more repairmen/women such as Dave. He also asked me if I had any question(s) about the repair or the refrigerator in general. I had a few and he did a thorough job answering them. I'm glad that David's Appliance Repair has employees like him. If you're looking for a competent company that does quality work with a fair price, David's Appliance Repair is the company to call. The technician who came out was extremely polite and nice, however, we didn't go through with the deal since the cost is just outrageous. Turn out I was able to fix it myself with no cost. It could be the cost of inflation that made the price of labor high, but I would suggest call and ask around for the diagnostic fee since I just paid $120 for them to come out and say it will need to be fix for $400 when I ended up fixing it for at no cost. read more

Everything with David's went very well to repair my electric dryer. Their 5-star rating over 250+ reviews is well deserved. I left a message but received a prompt call back. The scheduler was efficient, easy to understand, and courteous. I had some concerns with the 4-hour appointment window. This is a little on the long side. Thankfully, the technician arrived about 15 minutes after the beginning of the availability window. Also, he called ahead of time to let me know his expected arrival time. Bill explained all costs and charges clearly and accurately. He was in and out after 40 minutes or so. Unlike some repair places, Bill left our laundry area clear of materials and debris from the repairs. Like the scheduler, Bill was courteous and easy to understand. Before leaving, he verified his work by running the dryer until it warmed up. Total cost was about what I expected and exactly what I was quoted at the beginning of the service call. Nothing "extra" was tacked on and I researched the likely problems ahead of time to make sure I had an idea of what to expect. No surprises, except the quality of the service. Note: there is a $60 service fee, but, if you end up having work done, the service fee is included in the repair cost. Replacing the drum rollers and balance belt(s) cost $205. read more

I called for an estimate on an old double oven wall unit. They got back to me same day asking for model number and what the problem was. Next day let me know the parts are no longer available. Even though I didn't have actual repair I do appreciate the time they took to see if they could help fix oven. Its original to house? So really old. They were honest and didn't even charge me also recommended someone who could do installation work. Because bottom line is we do need a new one. Well, I finally needed some things repaired within the last year and I already knew who I would call! It's sure true what they say, that things just aren't built the way they use to be! 3k Samsung fridge had ice freezing in the bottom tray under the meat drawer. I wasn't expecting this to be diagnosed quickly but Dave knew what it was and it was repaired in no time. Then a few months later our microwave latch broke (diagnosed by me and you-tube) so I called to schedule the visit. Stacy took the info to make sure the parts were ordered before Bill came out and once he arrived he had our microwave up and running again in no-time and the pricing is very honest and the service is the best from start to finish! We recently moved and purchased a refurbished fridge. Occasionally we noticed when we were grabbing something out of the fridge or freezer that it felt a bit warm. GREAT REPAIR of Bosch dishwasher. Stacey set up my appointment and was my point of contact. I had my dishwasher leak and wasn't sure if hose or something more -Bosch as a courtesy gave me two options other than David's for a no charge inspection. I chose one of them and tech was efficient but the process of getting the actual repair was a time consuming mess. Also they wanted me to prepay the part before even scheduling an appointment and estimated a higher price. I reached out to David's from reading Yelp reviews, and had them scheduled to do the actual repair.
