We came in here to look for a dress for my matron of honor and my mom for our wedding in September. We had an appointment at 4:30 and everyone was so friendly! It did take some time for someone to assist us, but I'm happy to see businesses picking up once again post pandemic. I also understand if they were prioritizing brides over our appointment! Our wait was definitely worth it though, because of our bridal consultant, Suriya!! Suriya was the absolute best. We had so much fun at this appointment! We were all laughing and joking together the entire time. Instead of feeling stressed trying to find the perfect dresses, we felt like we had a party picking between several amazing bridesmaid dresses! Suriya picked several styles for my sister and we ended up choosing one she recommended. We also went with her suggestion of adding a dress belt for an added sparkle! Suriya then set my sister up with an appointment for her alterations which was also very helpful. She got my swatches of all of my bridesmaid's colors and we pulled dresses out in those colors and we all fell in love with the palette!! While we had so much fun shopping for my sister, unfortunately we did not find a dress for my mom. They don't have the best selection for mother of the bride/groom dresses at the moment, especially for plus sizes. I'm not sure if this is because of prom and needing room for prom dresses, but if you're in the market for a mother of the bride dress, maybe consider looking somewhere else. Again, everyone was so nice and made this appointment so much fun! I kind of wish I had another reason to come back to this David's Bridal just to play in all of the dresses with Suriya. I do not recommend for alterations. The Woman showed us the few alterations to be made to the dress. A tuck here, buttons there. The final price for alterations was approximately 700.00. Our daughter is a small girl so I expected to get remnants to me some memory pillows for my daughter. I was SHOCKED when she handed me less than a half a yard of hemline. This was unbelievable to me! I was told to wait until the quarantine is over & my local store reopened. And now I'm being told, I can only receive a gift card or exchange... because of a 14 day lapse. I'm here with my sister-in-law trying to find her a dress. The staff are very nice and friendly, however, I can tell a drastic difference between this appointment and another appointment we had a few weeks ago with a much smaller business. The smaller businesses was wayyy more professional and was centered around the bride to be. Here at this David's Bridal, the staff are all preoccupied with themselves and each other. The woman that was assigned for our appointment walked away several times when the bride stepped out and didn't help my sister in law at all. She kept telling us "well looks like we missed", instead of being reassuring and professional. She also gossiped with another employee in the middle of their appointments. My friends and I went to go try on dresses for our school because we were on some court. And when we got there an older lady was so sweet. But the rest of the workers were terrible. Two other workers were literally telling eachother to help us because they did not want to help us. That was so rude and right in front of us. It was a black lady with pink nails and a white lady with dark hair. This place was so terrible and we told our teacher that set up the dresses for us and she got a hold of the manager. Sure I visited cute small boutiques in town and was shown beautiful dresses, but the prices and selection at David's bridal couldn't be beat. For my budget conscious wedding, Davids was the perfect choice. On a personal note, my fiancé and I are in TN while he is serving in the military. My mother and friends all live in MD. His mother and family all live in CA. I shop for wedding things mostly on my own and that can be heartbreaking. The two consultants who helped me find my perfect dress gave me the support I wish I could have had from my own family. Even other customers gave their input and were thrilled with me when I found "the one." The whole atmosphere in David's encourages celebration for all. Pretty fast! They can be a bit short staffed at times. Barely saw the consultant that was helping me the second time I came to try on dresses because they were super busy. As her maid of honor, I went with my best friend to try on her gown after she got the notification that it was delivered to the store. After patiently waiting for her dream dress (a beautiful, expensive dress that had to be saved for) we were baffled at how her dress had been handled. The store manager herself, Kimberly, went to the back to get her dress and came back with a hanger draped in a plastic dress cover bag. we noticed immediately that the bag didn't look... full? So instantly we were afraid that they had ordered the wrong dress because for a fluffy A-line gown the bag looked awfully empty. When we removed the cover bag, her dress was still STUFFED inside the bag it had been shipped in! I mean crumpled up shoved in a bag and somehow it didn't occur to the manager of this place to remove a $3k dress from the plastic sack it had been shipped in and place it on a hanger for the bride. Very unhappy with how her dress was handled, very unprofessional and just lazy. Not to mention Kimberly didn't even offer my friend the opportunity to try on the dress to make sure it fit correctly, we had to ask otherwise we were expected to just walk out the door with a dress she hasn't tried on since picking it out weeks prior. I'm sorry but if the price tag on a dress has quadruple digits the bride deserves a better experience than that. read more

The whole process is absolutely ridiculous. I absolutely hated my experience here. I met my mom there to try on wedding dresses. She got there before me and had already started looking. We found a few that I wanted to try on. The "bridal consultant" (or annoying girl that wouldn't leave us alone) said I couldn't try anything on without registering with the store, and was extremely pushy about it. I finally walked over to their register table at the front (nobody told me when I walked in that registering was a necessity or I would have walked out and went somewhere else). Why David's Bridal needs my wedding date, name of all of my bridal party members, address, wedding planner's name, and a ton of other private info is beyond me. I literally just told them I was going to the court house in a couple weeks because the details of my actual wedding have nothing to do with them. So finally I can try on these dresses (Just being honest, the selection there is crappy and generic. I only found a few dresses and didn't care for any of them). The area surrounding the fitting rooms is surrounded by mirrors, however there are no actual mirrors inside the fitting room. They pretty much force you to step out where the rest of the store can see you to even look at yourself. That is the most annoying bull crap. I got asked about 600 times by every bridal consultant if I needed help. I kept saying no, but I guess they work off commission and wanted to grab anybody that looked like they might buy something. In that environment, I wasn't going to find my dress. I did talk to my mom for a minute about a dress I tried on, thinking it might be good for a shower. While talking to my mom, this annoying worker stood there awkward staring at us and wouldn't take a hint to leave us alone. I ended up buying a mid-length dress that fit okay for a wedding shower, and the tacky "bridal consultant" grabbed it and said "Is that the one? Oh, I'll carry it up front for you." She was trying to rush is out. She made my mom sign a receipt, waited for her to sign it, and then said she could keep it, it was just to verify that she understood that "all sales were final." ... After she had my mom sign it. Like she was worried we were just going to return the dress we bought and wouldn't buy it if we knew that we couldn't return it (meaning she wouldn't get her commission). Like, seriously, some brides are more private than that and don't like to be pestered. We don't all want a "bridal consultant" to try to tell us what we want. Not everybody is indecisive and needs help. I will never step foot back in any of these stores. That had to be the most obnoxious retail experience I have ever had. read more

Listen, you go here for the selection and the price. Do research on website in advance and mark favorites and it will make the in-store experience better. I went to this store twice looking for a wedding dress. The first experience I had, the lady who helped me was very attentive. The second experience I had, the lady (different person) was not super warm or attentive, just kind of indifferent. However she brought me two dresses that were not on my "favorites" list and those two dresses were the ones! (Covid elopement and then original wedding plans later) So she was insightful if not attentive. They didn't have all the dresses I marked as favorites in stock to try on, but in the end it didn't matter because I found something else I wanted and she helped me do that. They're not going to bring you champagne while you try on but they'll give you a little bottle of water on a hot day. It's not a boutique experience. Remember it's a big corporation and they'll treat you like it and you just need to remember to treat them like that, too. read more

Deb is amazing! I am a serial procrastinator with a wedding coming up in December. I hadn't even looked at dresses yet. I walked in today, no appointment, which was fine for a Tuesday early afternoon. Honestly, I've been in once before on Saturday to look at bridesmaid dresses and it was a mad house. I highly suggest going during a slow time. The first thing I said to Deb was that I was going to be back in my hometown with my mom and grandmom on Saturday, so I wouldn't be buying a dress today but just wanted to have idea to make Saturday go smoothly. Even knowing the chance of a sale today wasn't likely she still found dress after dress and answered all my questions. I had no idea what I wanted.. At all. Deb pulled one of everything.. So we could narrow down a style. The third dress I tried on was the one.. I tried on all the other dresses, probably 10 or so in all, just to make sure. We set an appointment specifically so we could have help and one on one attention from a sales consultant. A walk-in group of 5 girls came in the door right before us- no appointment. They were assigned a "prom specialist". We were given someone who immediately told us, "I don't really work in the prom dept. I really only know wedding dresses". She was clueless! Second issue- when we registered for an appointment on the website, it sent us a link to confirm our email address. In that email it said, please browse our dresses and mark your favorites so a sales consultant can pull some of your favorite dresses. When I showed our sales rep, she had no idea what I was talking about. When I showed her 5 different dresses we were interested in, she had no clue if ANY of them were even in the store! Why? because she works in wedding dresses and was "unfamiliar with the prom selections". So my daughter and I ended up walking around the store alone, looking for the dresses ourselves. This was a huge waste of our time. And please don't give the excuse that it is "prom and wedding season" so your stores are busy! If you know it is a busy time of year - bring in MORE HELP! And why you even bother to have an option of making appointments is beyond me! David's Bridal in Chattanooga is NOT customer friendly! Had our consultant even bothered to talk with us she would have learned that we were looking to purchase a prom dress, a Cotton Ball Belle dress, a woman's black tie event dress, and three junior black tie event dresses. That would have been 6 dresses! But since our associate only knew wedding dresses and couldn't even bother to help us look around we ended up walking out. We had better customer service at All Dressed Up, Ever After in Cleveland, and Bella's Boutique in Knoxville. All without an appointment! AND each sales rep knew their inventory and actually cared about helping the client to find something special. We will never go to David's Bridal again! Which is a shame for them. I was waiting on my dress to come in before writing this. My apt was April 1, 2017. I was going in to find a dress for myself (wedding June 9, 2017 - very short engagement), & a dress for my sister (moh). We were also with my grandma, which is why I kept quiet. Well my sister is about 5'1 a size 2 - EVERYTHING looks good on her. I'm 5'10 at a size 20 (3 kids in 2 1/2 years). I have huge, natural, boobs (40N). We check in and are told that it will be a little while before they can find a consultant for us, even though they knew we were coming 2 weeks prior. We're waiting on our consultant to come over to us (I had an apt, 10 min late from a 2 hour drive), so we went looking at the discount dresses. Consultant comes over to us, sees my sister asking if she was me with a smile on her face. We say no, I'm the bride. Smile disappears. This is our conversation: Her: wow. You're big. Me:...... Her: ok. Well let's start (aggravation in her voice) Her: what's your pants size? Me: well I just had a baby, I'm able to fit a 20 Her: ok, well normally for dresses your supposed to go up one size. But looking at you, we'll need to go up 2 & HOPE that works. Me:........ Her: what is your budget? About $1000 Me: no, about $200-300. I'm paying for it myself Her: (face drops) (angrily) well we aren't going to be able to do anything for that price in your size. Me: what about your $99 & $199 sale going on? Her: chuckles, not in your size Me: (completely discouraged), so you have nothing that will fit at all Her: no. (Thinks a second). I take that back, we have one section. (Walks away without a word, we follow). Here. This is the section that might have your size in your price range. (Shows us the tags) You can look through these, there MIGHT be something in your size. (Scours at me & walks away). Luckily I found a dress as well as my sisters. Not at all what I wanted for either. I later showed her some pictures of dresses I wanted. She laughed at me (full on laugh) & said you can't afford that. I would not recommend this place to a single person, nor will I ever go back. read more

There are no words to adequately describe how horrible the customer service at this store is. If you come here, be prepared to be "helped" by unfriendly sales associates and managers who are "too busy" to address any concerns you may have. Stacie made what was suppose to be a special day finding the mother of the bride dress and flower girl dress a nightmare. It was a disappointment and I am upset I wasted 2 hours of time there. I came in to David's Bridal today with my three bridesmaids to get them dresses. I came prepared to my appointment with a short list of my top bridesmaid dress picks after perusing their website. Upon walking in I could tell that this was going to be quite the experience. The front desk woman who took my information was very nice, but seemed in a hurry. My consultant was named Mary and she was very nice, but not very helpful. I gave her the numbers of the dresses I was interested in. She quickly became flustered and had trouble locating them... she even abandoned my party as she yelled over her shoulder for us to look for the dresses. I must give her some credit because she managed to find the number one dress on my list (after about ten frantic minutes of running around). The girls went into the dressing rooms to try the dress on while Mary asked me if I would like her to pull some others. I gave her the dress numbers and she went to look. She came back with a shrug and said she could not find them, but she told me they were on the website. Luckily, I loved the way that the first dress I wanted looked on my bridesmaids so we decided on that one without trying on any other dresses. Checking out was a terrible experience. There was no sign about where to line up or in what direction so there were just women jumbled at the front of the store confused about where to go. My consultant, Mary, ran away to another bride as soon as she showed us where to check out. One of my bridesmaids had to track her down to get the paper that had all of our sizing information on it. As soon as all my bridesmaids had paid, we ran out the doors to get away from the stress inducing atmosphere. My experiencing at David's Bridal was less than great. I felt like the store was unorganized, the staff was in such a rush, and the customers were being herded around the showroom like cattle. If I was not so crunched for time, then I would not have bought the bridesmaid dresses there. I would not recommend this store, especially if you are a bride wanting to get your dress there. David's Bridal does not do anything to make you feel special or like a valued customer. I will not be returning. read more

This store is very understaffed. That is not there fault but the woman helping me had to do the front desk at the same time and couldn't even help me during most of my appointment. She cut me off mid sentence when I was trying to say what event the dress was for. Another worker interrupted me again mid sentence to ask where something was in the store for another client. It was very unprofessional customer service. They kept putting wedding dresses on the rack outside my fitting room door so I couldn't even get the door shut. No mirrors in the fitting room so I'm forced to come out to a lot of random people from bridal parties staring at me knowing if the dress looks awful before I even do. I couldn't see the dresses I tried on that well because the racks in front of the mirrors were filled with wedding dresses from another client. I gave 2 stars because I found a nice dress but unfortunately I will not be back! read more

My experience was awful. I had an appointment but was treated as though I did not. I had to pull my own dresses. No one helped me in the dressing room. When I asked about trying on a dress in the next largest size I was advised to just buy Spanx and wear the dress I had tried on that was tight. Go to Dillard's!!! read more

I had the worst experience here this morning! Went to pick up my daughters wedding gown off layaway . Called and hour prior to let them know we were coming. Upon arrival the manager was rude. I sited I have a stylist with me to look at mothers dresses , yet never gave me one. She did after I asked her pull a dress off the the rack totally off color and said here try this to see if the size is right . It was the right size but way long , I then came out to ask if I had a stylist or not and then was given one which I spoke with. I ask the stylist should I take the dress off to grab another off the rack to try on she told me no. I went up front to grab another dress to try and was approached by the unfriendly, rude manager and told I must take dress off and put my clothes back on before going to the sales floor. I told her my stylist said it was ok but she continued to be rude . I then told her to forget it I was taking the dress off and I was not buying a dress there and if my daughter wasn't in love with her dress I'd be returning it too! Worst experience ever! read more

I am from Oregon and getting married there in August. My Best Woman lives here in the Chattanooga area so I came out for a week to visit and so we could find her a dress for my wedding. The gal who greeted us was very inviting and Maryanne who worked with us was great. She was helping a couple of people at the same time but for the most part we didn't feel neglected and felt like we got in and out quickly. She pulled things we liked and some other suggestions and we found the perfect gown. The price was less than I expected to pay and the entire process was painless and easy. Very happy and excited to see my friend standing beside me in my wedding day in her beautiful gown and so appreciative to Maryanne for her help. read more

This review is in no way a reflection on the David's Bridal Chattanooga Store but rather is directed to the corporate office regarding an online purchase. I recently ordered a dress for my granddaughter's sorority event. I understood the 14 day return policy but the dress fit well and did not need to be returned. However, after the 14 days had passed, my granddaughter was notified that due to COVID-19, all sorority events were being cancelled. I have been in communication with the online customer service team but they have refused to refund me for the dress. I have explained that I understand the 14 day return policy and typically would not ask them to make an exception to their policy but the COVid-19 has caused the cancellation of the event for which the dress was needed. I am very disappointed that David's Bridal is not more understanding during this COVID-19 pandemic and it's effect on their customers. read more

Professional and fun! Donnie and Marrianne were very helpful! I went in right after I got engaged with no idea of what I really wanted, but Marrianne showed me the different styles to pick from and they have many different dresses to pick from that are oh so pretty!!!It's pretty busy here because everybody goes to David's.. It's kinda like the clothing version of Jarred's... Instead of he went to Jarred's it she went to David's:-) all of my brides maids bought their dresses at David's as well. Lots of options and colors... The dresses came in fast too! Again everybody was very helpful and helped change out sizes when needed. I recommend David's for sure!! read more

Carmen was my assistant who fitted & measured me & scheduled me for my second appointment on Sept 27th, of which I was told my dress would be ready for pickup. I arrived to alterations at my appointment time of 11:00am to find alterations did not have my dress!!! They questioned me & said I should have brought my dress with me to alterations! The day I paid for my dress in full at David's Bridal I was not given my dress to take home! Glad I had my receipt showing where I paid for the dress, I wasn't on alterations list today as scheduled on the appointment card, thank God they found my dress, showing where I paid weeks ago, although still not in alterations!!! My dress deadline is October 14 as I am flying to my destination wedding on October 15! My dress will not be ready until October 12th! Please be warned, there are so many non-big box retailers who have amazing dresses!!!! My alterations cost me over $150.00 + my dress costs! I was not told alterations are more after you purchase the dress!!!!! I am very disappointed in David's Bridal & Carmen to say the least!!!! I do not recommend this store!!! read more

Found my wedding dress at David's Bridal. David's was my third stop and I had made an appointment before I went in. My Stylist LaVerne was fantastic! She was very easy to work with and made me feel like I was the only customer that mattered to her during that time. I felt really bad for her and a little annoyed that she kept getting called off to help other people during the hour I had reserved online! She never made me feel rushed, but she was overworked and it made my appointment run over because I spent time waiting for her to come back to me. I went to David's on a Saturday a few weeks ago. I knew it would be busy, so I was expecting it to be hectic, but didn't expect as bad as it was. My appointment was at 4 (maybe 4:30?), and I was early. They told me to look around and pick any dresses I liked. My consultant didn't greet me until 30min after my appointment was supposed to start. She brought me the wrong corset size, and said she was going to get another, but never did. She was also helping another bride, which I expected, but she was constantly with them. She never came back to check on how I was doing until I was ready to purchase my dress. Thankfully, I had my sister there to help me and was able to pick a dress with no help from my consultant. My sister went to pick a dress this week, and Laverne was her consultant. She was AWESOME!! She made up for everything my consultant didn't do. My sister had an awesome experience. I wish my appointment would have gone like that! Overall, my experience was okay because I did find a dress, but my sister's was wonderful. Thank you Laverne for being so helpful!!! read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have a family member out of state that's going to hand make my wedding dress so she told me to get measured. I was told I could go to Davids Bridal for a measurement so I went. The woman sitting at the door told me they couldn't do it themselves, but the person that does the dress fittings would be there in 30 minutes and could do it for me. She said I could come back or just look around while I waited. I decided to look at the jewelry. About 5 minutes later another woman walked up and said, "We can't measure you if you are getting a dress somewhere else." I explained to her that a family member out of state was going to make it for me and just needed my measurements. She still refused and with an attitude at that! So she pretty much said they can't measure me if I wasn't buying their products! That's a damn shame! They should be embarrassed of themselves! Luckily I was able to go to a seamstress 10 minutes down the road that measured me without any questions and it literally took 20 seconds which only made Davids Bridal look that much worse! All because someone's not buying one of your dresses you can't give them 20 seconds of your time! That's extremely petty and no one should ever come to your store expecting anything good to come out of it! You were rude and unprofessional, and gave no good advice for my special day!
