I came in about 2 months ago with 2 friends (bride and another bridesmaid) to pick out bridesmaid dresses. When we go there the lady at the front desk was so rude. It took her 10 minuets to even acknowledge us standing there and then she said she would be right with us. she was waiting for a stylist to come assist a group that walked in before us but i don't see why she couldn't assist us while they were waiting because she was literally standing there doing nothing. Anyways! our stylist Darleen was wonderful!! she was so friendly and helpful shes the only reason this review got 3 stars.ill admit we were a little annoying and tried on A LOT of dresses but she brought back each one with a smile. When it was time for us to check out there was an awful women at the register. I wish I got her name. Darleen was checking us out but I think she was a little new because the other women was walking her through the checkout process. not only was she mean to us but she was also nasty to Darleen. Me and the other bridesmaid live about 3 hours away from this Davids bridal. we only came here because the bride lives about an hour away so we drove to meet her. when we asked if we can get the dresses shipped to our houses the women gave us a very hard time questioning why we couldn't just come get the dresses at the store and asking the bride why she couldn't just drive and get them for us. she eventually offered to ship them for $16 so that is what we did.Not sure why she couldn't just offer that in the first place. it took 2 months for the dress to arrive so if you need a dress quickly i would recommend ordering it online yourself read more

I decided to try looking at David's bridal for my wedding dress. I live in Florida and my mother lives in Albany. I thought David's bridal would be OK since I have one near me and I could have alterations done at the one by me. Big mistake. I went around 1pm on a Saturday. While I was filling out my paper work they tried to sell me videographer/photographer service. I told them that I was having a destination wedding and would not need their services. I wrote on the paper that I was not interested in anything other than a dress. Two more times people tried to sell me videographer/photographer services, even while I was trying to walk out the door. My consultant was helping at least 4 other groups, she was never around to help answer questions. I had told her I was from Florida and that this would be our only apt. She could not grasp that and kept telling me that next time I come in it would be better. I was placed in a very small dressing room and had to share the small amount of mirror space with 2 other groups. I felt like we were herded in there like cattle. To make matters worse everyone time a bride found a dress they had them stand in front of a mirror and ring a bell. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Once I got back to Florida I started getting phone calls for follow up appointments and videographer/photographer. So annoying!! I will never shop at a David's bridal again. read more

I also forgot to mention because she wouldn't take ur in anymore or exchange my dress for a smaller size I had to pay 50.00 out of pocket for her to see on straps which is bullshit I shouldn't had to pay for her not listening or the fact I told them so many times my shoes don't fit but they went ahead and dyed them and you know David's bridal rules final sale so now I'm stuck with royal blue shies I can't even wear in my wedding day so pissed I was so upset the other day when I made my post I forgot about all of this crap I have already told a few people who are looking for dresses not to go there and trust me I know many more people who go threw me on where to go for things so David's bridal is about to lose even more future customers I should have just returned my dress when I had a chance and went somewhere else so I had to go spend more money on shoes that fit I hate that u can't post without selecting a star rating I wish they had half a star but even then thru don't deserve that read more

I thought when I went shopping for my wedding it was going to be an amazing experience that I would remember, unfortunately I will always remember it for another reason. I had a horrible experience when I went to David's Bridal. I made an appointment online a few weeks before hand because my maid of honor was coming in from North Carolina and when we arrived they had to find a consultant for me, I don't mind waiting and it was only 10 mins so I shrugged it off. Then I met my consultant and showed her about 3 or 4 pictures of the style I wanted. She then brought me 3 dresses no where even close to what I wanted. My sister helped me in and out of the dresses while my consultant helped other people, I was upset because I thought I would have something I liked to try on. My sister went and told the consultant that this day was suppose to be special and she was not really helping, to which the consultant replied that she brought dresses that were going to fit me. I was floored when my sister told me this I know I am plus size but does that mean I can't have the same experience as thinner brides? I cried it out in the dressing room and decided to leave after being there for about 15 - 20 minutes. The consultant said she would call me in 2 weeks to see if I would like to come back in and honestly I was glad when she never called. I will never go back to David's bridal or recommend them to anyone. I ended up finding my dress at Yvonne's in Latham a few weeks later so I guess everything happens for a reason but it doesn't make it right. read more

The customer service was horrible, and not because the sales clerks didn't want to help ..they are just completely overwhelmed. Much to my pleasure I already bought my gown at Yvonne's Bridal in Latham, however, I went to David's to find a gown for my bride's maid. I walked into a barrage of people, and a staff without a clear sense of organization. I proceeded to wait over fifteen minutes for the appointment already made, just to watch people without an appointment go ahead of me. Then my brides maid and I had to wait and wait and wait for assistance, because our consultant...HAD SIX OTHER APPOINTMENTS AT THE SAME TIME! I ended up pulling from the rack myself. Finally, we found one we liked, but then had to wait a half hour to just pay for the damn thing! The staff at the register was 1.unfriendly 2. taking calls constantly in the middle of checking people out 3. incompetent....If I had know that from start to finish the whole ordeal would have been such a pain in the butt....I would have gone somewhere else. This. Place. Just...save yourself the headache and don't go here. Find literally anywhere else. I recently moved up to the Albany, NY area from Charlotte, NC and could not be more upset with my experience at this store. A very close friend of mine is getting married and has me being a brides maid in the wedding, since she got her dress there and had everything picked out I figured it would be easiest to just go grab the brides maids dress there (even though she insisted I could look elsewhere since color was all that mattered to her, and I really should have given my experience). The first time I visited my boyfriend came with me and we waited 45 minutes to be told they couldn't find the brides name, I mentioned that she is in NC, and asked if that made a difference and 3 different associates standing at the podium just stared at me until I finally told them to forget it and I walked out to call my friend and make sure that I had given all the correct information. I had, but by this time we were both so over waiting we just left. Fast forward one week and I go back again by myself, I do not know the name of the young man who helped me that day but I wish I could have gotten his name (EDIT: I double checked my receipt and it says his name is Jonathan U., I really hope this is correct because he deserves recognition). He was the most professional, kind, helpful, and speedy associate I have ever worked with. He found the dress, pulled the ones for me to try on, helped me zip them, helped me take pictures to have okayed by the bride, was always right outside the dressing room and I never had to wait or track him down, and then he completed the purchase for me and even pushed the delivery date no charge since we were both concerned about it arriving in time for the wedding. This company should not only promote him, but find more people like him. My third (and final EVER) visit there was a little over a week later when the dress made it in. I drove out to pick it up, not one person smiled or greeted me. I had to again deal with some of the rudest associates ever. The lady who went to find the dress seemed so put out over the whole thing I wanted nothing more than to tell her to forget it and walk out right then. But I tried it on and had mentioned to her I might need alterations if she wouldn't mind seeing what she thought about the hem. Well when I stepped out...she was no where to be found. After looking for someone for about 5 minutes and more than once being ignored I took the dress off and went to leave. Wanting to make sure I didn't need to sign for the dress or anything else I stood up at the cashier counter for a full 15 minutes while associate after associate looked right at me and walked away, came up to the counter to do various tasks and walked away, even the lady helping the woman in front of me helped them and then walked away. Fantastic! Not a word along the lines of "I will be right with you" nor even a polite "Is someone helping you?" even a "I will find someone to come help you" would have been nice. In fact any acknowledgement that I actually existed would have been lovely. Finally a young man came up and I pulled him aside and asked if they needed anything else from me, another blank stare, another silent associate. He asked for the last name and since everything up to this point ran off of the brides last name I said "The brides last name is ____" and he types it in then gets irritated when he notices my last name on the sticker of the dress hanger and tells me he wanted mine. Did I not clarify that the name I gave him was the brides?! Nobody listened to what I said, nobody acknowledged my existence, and I wouldn't give this place another dime nor another minute of my time if it were the last dress shop on the planet. They clearly do not train in customer service, professionalism or any other areas designed to help their guests. I managed a restaurant in college and had better sense to make sure customers received a better experience than this. This was a few months ago but still worth the review! David's bridal is one of the busiest places I've seen for business in bridal. So with that being said when I walked in on a Saturday with no appointment and they kindly accommodated me and the party I came with. The woman at the desk (I'm sorry I don't know her name, brown hair, a turtle tattoo on her wrist) registered me and my bridal party and explained to me how the appointment would go. She even pulled up our favorites! Evonne (I believe) sat us down and explained how our appointment would proceed. After discussing what dress styles I would try, she asked to fit me for a bra and slip to go with the dress. Which I didn't know even affected the dress and look of it! (Educational) I loved it! Overall I want to say the appointment went fantastic and I loved the staff who helped make my day even more special! Thank you Davids bridal in colonie! read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. I just reported them to the better business bureau for selling my phone number to outside companies. After 1 1/2 weeks of relentless telemarketing calls from Mary Kay, Yaz, etc. I called David's bridal and asked why they sold my number. They told me I didn't check the 'no' box where they asked if they could sell my number. Ummm I never checked the 'yes' box either. Phone numbers are considered personal information and any establishment needs a defined 'yes' to release this info. Their 'fix' was to go into their computer and check 'no' for me. A week after talking to them, 12:15am 'restricted' phone call which upon waking up to looks like an emergency room call. That was the last straw. Hopefully this doesn't happen to any other future brides. All that aside, their gowns weren't that good, quality was okay, and I still had to wait a half an hour just to get started. I found something gorgeous that came custom fit for only $200 total price on dhgate.com. Don't waste your time with this store. read more

I bought my wedding dress at David's Bridal, it was beautiful although, I feel like the sales lady pushed it on me, she oh so wanted me to ring that bell. I loved the dress but the way they tried to sell it was just forceful. I also picked out bridesmaids dresses here, several different times I brought my bridesmaids down to get sized and try on their dresses, which they all loved. The dresses were great, but one of the colors I chose were going out of stock by the end of the year. They told us we had till the end of the year to order the dress, did not recommend that we order is ASAP as it would most likely be sold out by then. DB called in December to ask if we still wanted to go with the dresses we were sized and written down for, then said the color that was to be discontinued actually went out of stock in October. I think they should have explained how there was a chance this color would have been completely sold out by the deadline and that we should have ordered and paid for the dress right then. After the conversation with the girl who told me they were already out of stock, I had time to mull it over and called back to speak with a manager, then told there wasn't one there, and they would call me back. Two weeks later I had to call again because no one had called me back. The communication with this business is awful, and the lack of attention to detail the same. The store is 100 degrees and stuffy, especially when you are trying on big bulky dresses, they should have a water cooler or something to accommodate the brides who are going to be spending a lot of money at your place of business. I was told by several friends not to go through DB and I should have listened. I will not recommend this business to anyone, ever! read more

Went here to get my daughters dress for her prom. Sales people very helpful and she found a beautiful dress. Make a 7:00 appointment for alterations as the dress was very long on her. Now mind you they are very busy as there were more of us with 7:00 appointments then there were people working. Finally 8:03 after insisting they wait on us we finally get a dressing room. The women waiting on us spoke very broken English and very hard to understand. Finally done and pay $75 for hemming only after paying $280 already for the dress and make an appointment for pick up. Now tonight we go to pick up the dress not only do they seem annoyed I want her to try it on but when the seem on the side of the dress is botched and very noticeable and when I point this out the little old women who hardly speaks English RUDELY states my 17 year old must have gained weight cause her measurements are now three inches bigger then they were 3 weeks ago. Are you kidding me right now? This child has not gained a pound since we were here last and you are RUDE & MEAN and turned what should of been a happy moment for my child into her leaving your store in tears and feeling insulted. I will NEVER spend another dime in a store where employees are allowed to treat customers spending good money this way.. read more

My experience with David's bridal in Albany was not amazing. I went there at the beginning of June with my mom, grooms mom and bridesmaids. We all found dresses and ordered them. I was told it would be in in a few weeks. I live in Arizona and was told shipping would be free for me because I lived too far away to pick up the dress. I called after a few weeks and was told it would be a few more weeks. I continued to call until one day I was told "It came in a few weeks ago!" I had called only 5 days before and was told it was not in. I asked for it to be shipped to me and was told I had to pay the shipping cost. OK. This was August 11. They told me to expect the dress in 7-10 days. When my dress did not come in I called the store AGAIN and was told it had been sent on the 21st so it hadn't been 7-10 days yet! Why did they wait so long after my call to ship it? When I tried on the dress in the store I was told it was a size 2 and I ordered a size 4 to give myself a little bit of room. When the dress finally arrived in Arizona I had the size 4 and it would NOT zip. There is no way I had on a 2 in Albany that day. I now have a new appointment at the Davids Bridal here in Arizona to try to exchange this dress for another one in a larger size. They have already warned me that they will need to order one and it may take some time. Good thing I don't need this dress this month!! Way to take your time David's Bridal in Albany, give poor information and provide bad customer service. I am very displeased with how this process has gone and am hoping the David's Bridal here pays better attention and knows what they are doing. read more

I had an amazing time at David's Bridal today and was able to find my dream dress. When I first came into David's bridal I was immediately welcomed and assisted. My stylist Rachael D, was wonderful. I gave her a list of dresses I found off the website that I really liked. Rachael helped me find all those dresses and ones similar to it she thought I would like. She was so friendly and knew exactly what dresses would look good on me. I loved them all and felt like a princess! Rachael helped me chose like 12 dresses to try on. She was there to help me with each of my dresses and I never felt rushed. This girl had the patience of a Saint when I tried on some of the same dresses repetitively. She even helped me find veils and had a woman from alteration bustle my dress for me to help me make my final decision. Rachael went above and beyond! All I can say is thank you Rachael! You really helped me to make my special day perfect! :) read more

Went in looking for a dress for my ceremony, which is small and casual. I am not interested in spending thousands or even hundreds on a dress that I'll be wearing for one day. I came in and when the sales rep DEBBIE asked me what my budget was, I told her it was $200. I barely finished my sentence before she cut me off saying, "I can't help you." I'm sorry I didn't realize I was in Kleinfield Bridal? My friend was there helping me shop and she was in complete shock when the woman brushed us off so abruptly. We browsed the clearance section quickly before hauling out of there. I should have checked the reviews before coming here because it seems that this location has gained notoriety for its sales associates being the rudest in town. I work in a high end customer service position and I would not have my job if I treated customers with a budget this way. Management needs to really check their employees, plenty of people with great attitudes that are looking for work!!!! read more

I came in this past Tuesday. I had a great experience. I had to wait for about 15-20 minutes at first since my consultant was still finishing up with her last client. But Kristen, who was my consultant was great! She had a great personality and listened to what I liked and didn't like. Since I already went to a few wedding dress stores and a David's Bridal in Chicago, I thought I knew what I wanted already but just wanted to see a few more options that cost a little less than the dress I really liked. Kristen knew exactly which dress I had already tried and needed to beat. We tried on a few dresses and she knew from my face it wasn't the one. But then, remember what I liked about the other dresses, she found THE DRESS for me. It seemed as though all the dresses I liked came together and had a baby, that was the dress I had in mind, I'm so glad Kristen helped me find my dress. It was a little over my budget but I absolutely love my dress. I cannot wait to pick up my dress in a few weeks!! read more

Made an appointment, arrived, checked and the greeter said Yyvone would be right with me. They're not too busy, I've seen them much worse. After waiting for 25 minutes to be helped I asked if we could just start looking at bridesmaid dresses on our own, she apologized and said she would call my name out to find me. The stylist, Yyvone was calling "Elizabeth" which is not my name, but close so I asked if she was looking for me, she showed me the paperwork and it had wrong first and last name and phone number, so she went back to the desk. 45 minutes after my appointment was scheduled...we hear Elizabeth being called again, by the greeter now. I go over and check the name again, still all the wrong info. So I said can we just try one dress, then we're leaving cause this is ridiculous. Then after 2 of my bridesmaids try on the 1 dress we had already picked out and just wanted to try on, someone comes over and said" oh we wrong down the wrong name from the computer! Oops!" My first time getting married, I'm 50! I am an Account Manager securing accounts/contracts throughout the Capital District. I walked in David's for the first time with my daughter excited to look at gowns and bridesmaid. I was stopped when I walked in and told to go sign in. I said I'm only here to look but thank you. The sales girl followed me and stopped me to tell me I am not allowed to look and I have to sign in and I will be assigned someone. That's great for the people who want that but to tell me I'm not allowed I thought was a mistake. Iv never shopped anywhere that I was to I was not allowed to look. I played along but 30 minutes later I asked my daughter to wait in line because this is rediculious at this point and I went down an isle to look. Less then 5 minutes they sent my daughter to come look for me. I came back and they handed me a paper to complete with personal info, who's in bridal party and other questions I did not no. I did not no because I simply wanted to look! If and when I had more questions then and only then I would ask for help. I'm a big girl and can make my own decisions on how I would like to shop. I did not complete form, I was so upset, and now 45 min of standing there because u can't look I bursted into tears. I only stayed because my daughter was so excited for me. I will never recommend or make a purchase here as my first experience along with everyone in line complaining was so bad that it ruined my experience and my day. I don't no if the owner even cares but the loss if a $92,000 budget with New York guest also shopping, is a huge account list for this shop. The sales girl also agreed that I can't even go back without an spot to look and someone has to be with you. Horrible customer service!!!!!! When I first went there to look at my wedding dress, with an appointment I made a month before it was a mad house. The stylist I got, also had a lady looking for vials and another one trying on dresses (who neither of them had appointments) It took me an hour to try on 3 dresses, she was very slow and unseen for 20 minutes at a time while I was waiting for a new dress to try on. Finally after being frustrated one of the managers came over and finished my appointment. I ending up trying on two of the dresses I picked out to try on when first coming in and finding my wedding dress. I purchased the dress that day because I would told it wouldn't be in until 3 months and it would be busier with wedding season coming. It was in within a month on Christmas eve, keep in mind they say you have 7 days to get your dress especially if you are out of town. I went to pick up the dress and try it on and loved it just liked before. I wanted to try on a smaller short dress due to buying a ball goun, I had the style number and everything. The manager (different one) was very snotty and said I needed a stylist to see the dress and I did not make an appointment. You would think they would not turn down me looking at buying another dress after paying $1400 for my first one. I was very disappointed and left the store without giving them my services again especially knowing the ones in my first experience didn't have an appointment. If I was a manager of that store and didn't have a stylist I would personally show my customer the dress she was looking to buy right there. Unfortunately I am currently having a very bad experience with David's Bridal. I got engaged in January, and by February I had gone to David's Bridal and picked out my dress (the 2nd one I tried on!). The woman told me that I would be a size 6 (I normally wear size 0 or 2 in a dress but I trusted her opinion without being measured). She also told me that I would need to buy a corset bra (which I purchased from another store). Originally my appointment to get fitted was in August, but I am moving 1 1/2 hours away for a new job so I changed the appointment to the beginning of July so I would only have to go back to Albany one more time to get the dress. When I went to the store at the beginning of this month for my fitting, the woman that saw me in my dress was shocked to see how big the dress was on me. She asked me if I had lost a lot of weight (which I haven't). She also asked me why I was wearing a corset bra because a woman my size wouldn't have to wear that type of bra. I told her I got it because the woman who originally sold me the dress told me I needed it (and because I got it so long ago, I was only able to get store credit from where I got it from when I returned it). I also told them the woman who sold me the dress said I needed a size 6. No one there would even try doing alterations on the dress because it was so big. I then went to the cash register where the manager and another woman tried to help me return the size 6 dress and get a size 4. I'm not exactly sure how the process works, but when they tried to do the exchange, they said that the expected delivery date of the size 4 dress would be in September...I am getting married in September!! The woman who was trying to do the exchange said it would be ok and I would just have to pay a rush fee (which I said I was not paying because I started this process quite a while ago). The manager said I would not have to pay a rush fee and to not worry that the dress in coming in September. She tried her best to reassure me, but I still felt uneasy. The manager also put a note on my account saying to keep the size 6 dress at the store in Albany just in case the size 4 dress didn't come in on time in September. This also helped me feel a little more comfortable just in case I decided I wanted to get the size 6 dress fitted even if it cost more money. I left the store and was feeling uncomfortable with the whole situation being that I am moving soon, so I went back to the store a couple days later (I currently live 45 minutes away so it is already a drive). When I walked in I asked if I could pick up the size 6 dress since it is already paid for and that makes it mine and they said no. But that didn't even matter because they couldn't find the dress. This means that I currently do not have a wedding dress. The manager came over and did some stuff on the computer and said that she requested the dress to come in at the end of July or beginning of August. She didn't remember me but I told her that I was there a few days before and she told me the soonest date the dress could come in was September and she said something like "the purchase order can change". She then told me to call back on Monday (which is tomorrow) to find out if the dress can indeed come as early as the end of July/early August. I am not calling back, I am going in the store to find out. I am pretty panicked right now. I am not blaming any one person, and there's only so much a manager can do, but I believe that I deserve a discount or a free dress after all this hassle. If/when I receive my dress from David's Bridal (again) I will not be getting the alterations done there because I'm scared I won't get the dress in time for my wedding. read more
