Do not shop for your wedding dress here! Maybe for bridesmaids dresses if you're not looking to spend a lot on them, but definitely look elsewhere for your gown. Where do I start? I made an appointment only to find out that I really didn't need to have an appointment because I would have to wait when I got there anyway. There were teenagers swarming the place trying on prom dresses, and I couldn't even get to my fitting room because it was blocked by people standing everywhere. The woman who "assisted" me was also helping three other people at the same time. Not only did she act extremely stressed out and disinterested in me, but she would ask me what I like and then interrupt me and not listen to what I would say. To top that off, she brought me dresses entirely the opposite of what I said I was looking for. I told her I like a strapless sweetheart neckline and no beads or sparkles on the dress. What does she bring me? Dresses all bedazzled, straps all over the place, and very cheap looking material. When she finally got back to pay attention to me after I had tried on two horrible dresses, she had grabbed another random one, asked me if I liked it, and when I told her no she acted offended and tried to convince me to like it. I knew going in exactly what I wanted because I had tried on dresses other places. When I told her that I didn't like any of the dresses she acted mad at me and tried to shoo me out. Over all very rude and barely let me talk. i've been to a few other bridal shops and I know for a fact that it is the job of the employees to make the bride feel special. I went with several family members and I was telling them how stressed out it was from the experience and how I did not feel like it was my day, I felt like it was this employee's big day. Not cool. I left there and ended up buying my dress from Angela's Bridal. They have amazing staff who actually listen and care AND amazing dresses! read more

don't go here, they don't care about you. you have to pay for the dress that day, when they get it in they give you a week to pick it up. then they charge you almost 12 dollars for a bag to put it in you spend 1000.00 on a dress and they cant throw in the bag, what a sh-t show. they are very unprofessional. they don't offer you any info about alterations, they need a lesson in kindness. also when you make your 1 hour appointment your consultant is taking care of two clients. really. everyone go somewhere else even if you have to pay a little more. they could learn a lot from klienfelds shop. they know how to make a bride feel good. read more

I am still having a genuinely terrible experience with Davids Bridal. I called 3 separate times to make an alteration appointment. They have no answering machine in that area and both times the phone just rang indefinitely. I eventually had to call the front desk and ask if there was anyone working in alterations and they eventually got me in touch with someone. I recommend just doing that instead of using the prompt. Also, when my dress was delivered we picked it up and then I still got phone calls and emails for days saying I needed to come pick up my dress immediately. I called and had to have them mark my dress as picked up. I realize that things happen and am usually fine with that, but it just feels like there is something going wrong at every turn. read more

Not so good. They have probably the unfriendliest employee possible as their greeter/check in girl. Bathroom was kinda grody and we had to ask for toilet paper. What, are at least 90% of the shoppers here women?...you think you could have a decent bathroom with toilet paper! Unless maybe they want sh!t smears on dresses that cost thousands of dollars... Our consultant had us try on the cubic zirconia belts without telling us they were 200 dollars! More than the actual dresses we were buying!!! After I mentioned we were on a budget. Tried to pressure me about it, telling me they go out of rotation after 3 months...and then when we gasped at the price, she had nerve to say *I* was the one who grabbed the belts, to pass the buck. Also, why are you trying to get my bridesmaid who is wearing a size 16 dress to buy a size 20? Why not the next size up, an 18? (Maybe so you can make tons of money off more than needed alterations?!) Luckily, my maid knew from prior experiences here that they do that and refused to go up 2 sizes. I never write reviews, but I had to let everyone know how great Eva is. I'm getting married this weekend and Eva helped me pick my dress way back in Feb. Unfortunately, the groom accidentally saw my dress on Monday (July 28th) and hated it. He thought it looked way too matronly. I was really devastated so I called Eva and explained the situation. She told me to come in yesterday (July 29th) and that she would help me. She kept her word and went above and beyond for me. I thought it was too late because my wedding is this weekend. I didn't think it would be possible to switch my dress at the last minute. Eva really worked a miracle for me and I'm so thankful. Every store needs an Eva! When my friends get married I will definitely recommend them to her. She's really the best and truly cares about making the customer happy!! read more

I can't really say much about David's Bridal as a whole, but I can tell you that if you go to this location ask for Patty! I didn't actually end up finding my dress when I went here, but Patty was my consultant and she was AWESOME! She helped me beyond words! She was able to get me in and out a lot of dresses in a short amount of time. She accommodated me and my large party (literally like 8 other family members came with me). She helped me realize I had already found my dress and even offered suggestions on different styles of bridesmaids dresses that would compliment my gown, venue, and color scheme. I live in Charlotte, NC and kept telling Patty I wish I could take her back home with me to help plan things. I just had my sister, who still lives in the area to go see Patty and ask her for her opinion on somethings the other day. It just so happens I am getting my bridesmaids dresses from David's Bridal and so I will probably be bugging her with some more questions again soon. I only gave the whole experience a 3-star because like I said, I can't say much about the actual facility, I just know Patty is awesome! read more

I went to David's Bridal today to start my search for the perfect wedding gown. I was not expecting to find the dress but mainly to figure out what type of dress I liked, style wise. When we got to the store we were greeted by our consultant, Dana. She was absolutely the most accommodating and patient person I have worked with in retail. She let me try on as many dresses as I wanted with no pressure what so ever! She even insisted that I try on each style to make sure I would find one I loved. She truly made my experience of finding my dress stress free and enjoyable. I walked away today with the dress of my dreams and can not wait to wear it on my special day. After a poor experience at a local bridal shop nearby, we stopped into David's bridal to see if they could accommodate my future daughter in law in her efforts to find her wedding gown. She was in the area visiting, and had hoped to find her gown, while she was there so that her family could be involved. We had no appointment but they were able to team us up with Pattie, who was very good and helped find the perfect dress. They have so many styles and options in many budget ranges. They were able to order the dress and will ship it when it arrives, so that the alterations can be done at a David's bridal near where my future D-I-L lives. First off, I would like to rate my overall experience and the experience that we had while dress shopping differently. We visited Davids Bridal in Colonie today to dress shop for my sister's wedding. Dana was assigned to help us and she was beyond amazing. If this rating was just based on her assistance it would have easily been a rating of 5. She was very helpful, cheerful and had a very good sense of humor. She was able to assist with all of our needs along with giving us some great suggestions and opinions. Every time we needed her to give a suggestion on a dress my sister was trying, grab a dress in a different size, or help out in any other way she was always there for us. We couldn't have asked for better! Even after the experience we had below Dana apologized and try to do everything that she could for us. Our experience as a whole is a totally different story. David's Bridal is currently running their $99 bridal gown sale along with a promotion that if you scheduled an appointment prior to 12/31/2014 you would receive $50 off of your bridal gown. My sister and I not only confirmed once, or twice, but three times with three different employees that she would be eligible for this $50 on any dress she purchased regardless of the price. I specifically called prior to confirm that if she purchased a $99 dress she would receive $50 off and the employee confirmed that this would be what happened. We then confirmed the appointment and the savings a few days prior to the appointment. Then, when we came to the store this morning we spoke to the lady at the front podium about our discount and told her we were interested in viewing the $99 sale that they were promoting. She pointed us in the right direction. This is when Dana helped us out and to this point our experience was great. We then went to check out and the cashier questioned how to do the $50 coupon. Another cashier said we just have to have the manager override the price. She then looked at us and said "it isn't a problem- easy peasy!". It was then that Lisa the manager on duty came over. She was the rudest person that I ever came across. She basically laughed at us when she was told what was going on. She then made a comment that she would "never, ever, ever even think about getting a wedding gown for $99". Let me remind you that the store was packed with people at this time. She then stormed off and went into the front aisle of the store and was laughing at us with another employee at the thout of us thinking we could get an extra $50 off that dress. If I didn't think that my sister fell in love with the dress that she was buying I would have left without buying anything. I hate the thought of supporting this business and this manager's sales with the sale of this gown along with a flower girl dress. At the end of the day, I have heard many poor reviews regarding Davids Bridal and how other places make the experience so much more personal but I brought my sister there because I had a good experience there 5 years ago when I was getting married. Needless to say, I will never step foot into that store again after she humiliated us in front of everyone about buying a $99 bridal gown when they were the one promoting this sale!! read more

I've been to David's Bridal many times. I've actually already written a review. But I felt the need to write a small one today. I had to go in and try on a dress and purchase said dress for yet another wedding. This place was hopping as it's winter break and prom season. People were just waiting to be waited on, I grabbed the dress I needed and just wanted to try it on quickly. No assistance in sight...but yet again I saw Dana there (I don't think she recognized me from months ago which who the heck would?! But she stopped walking and with a smile said "are you being helped?" and I said "no just need to try this on quick". She said "come on over to my section then" again with a smile. Gave me a room and no questions asked. I didn't see her after that but I also didn't need to. I was buying it regardless and leaving. I really just appreciated in all the hustle and bustle of how busy they were she stopped and smiled to help me. I was worried I would be there for a long time on my very short lunch break but because she took the 2 seconds to talk to me I was out in 15 minutes. thanks Dana, you rock :) read more

First, let me say... SEE PATTIE! Now, feel free to read on: I found my perfect dress on my very first visit and never expected it! I already had other appointments for RK Bridal, etc. lined up. I've cancelled them all! Admittedly, initially, the staff member assigned to me, was not quite my style (I needed someone laid back and soft-handed--because I was already a little overwhelmed and edge about the whole thing). Her hands-on approach and rattling run-down overview of the racks of dresses was making me nervous at first. Still, NOTHING against the first wedding stylist, but just not the right fit for me...I was feeling totally overloaded in the first 10minutes -- while pawing through racks of dresses.... But THEN one of my bridesmaids asked the lovely Asst. Manager (Judie?) for a stylist with a slightly more quiet approach, and PATTIE was like a dream...floating in and ushering me and my group over to a nice quiet corner, to calmly flip through a dress look-book (with prices, as she mentioned, so that I could easily include certain styles in my range or not). She then patiently took me through all of the "stages" of trying out what I thought I wanted, to trying out what she had in mind, and ultimately coming to a happy medium (a dress I did not think I would have even tried on initially, since it was sleeveless, and I was opposed to that when I started)--and happy does not begin to describe it! This dress fit me beautifully (bust-minimized, hour-glass maximized and within budget--there was a wide range of priced dresses I had tried on, but no "pushing" for higher sales, at all). And so my story ends; I proceeded to wear the dress ALL over the store (while my maids tried on dresses too). I felt totally at home and confident in my lovely dress. I was so relieved and happy with Patti's assistance and celebration of my "fit", that I didn't want to stop there--I just wanted to get my dress and my Bridesmaid's dresses and all! I have not yet gone in for a fitting, but I met the seamstress and she seems very good as well! I am crossing my fingers for a continuation of my blissful bridal ride! I was at David's Bridal on 11/7 with a group of friends looking for bridesmaids dresses. The bride scheduled the appointment online. When we got there it was so crowded.. It was a bit overwhelming. Luckily since the bride to be is so organized having an appointment was key. The woman helping us was amazing. Her name was Sara(h?). She was super professional and didn't let the crowd fluster or overwhelm her. She was accommodating and really knew her stuff! When we were finalizing our paperwork she apologized to us because we had to wait a bit. ( she was given another party to assist in the middle of assisting us) We didn't mind at all. It wasn't an issue. The she told us it was her first day on the floor solo. We were so impressed! She was so on the ball! Thank you Sara(h?) for a wonderful experience! I just made a Yelp account to talk about what just happened to me in this store. I got my dress here a few months ago, and that experience was okay-- and tonight I went back to just get bridesmaid dress color ideas. My friend and I were left to our own devices for about an hour, and found colors we liked. We were about to leave when we thought "hey, why don't we hold up the two colors next to the dress to see which matches better?" So we started to bring the dress over when one of the ladies pounced. She basically screamed across the room and asked us what we were doing and if we signed in. We tried to explain that we didn't need to try anything on, and we just wanted to see a color against the dress. She said it didn't matter, we needed to sign in. We offered to bring the bridesmaid dress over to the wedding side instead, if moving the wedding dress was a concern. She still said to sign in. So my friend signed us in as I tried to hold the colors next to the wedding dress, and she stormed over and said, "I need all your information". I explained I really just wanted to look at the color and that my bridesmaid appointment was downstate at a different location. She said "It doesn't matter, still need your information". She then snapped to me, in a tone like I was stupid, that certain colors might be discontinued and that's apparently why she needed all of my information.... Finally I went up front to give her my information-- mostly I was confused as to what she wanted at this point, and why she needed to know everything, and then she wasn't up there. My friend and I just felt unpleasant about the whole thing, and we left. I really just wanted a quick in and out to get some inspiration and ideas for colors. This woman was pushy and very demanding. She wasn't patient or nice. I don't see why the other location, where I have my appointment, can't check on colors for me. I really just wanted everything to be fun and casual, and this employee made me feel pressured. She was way to pushy and mean, and she didn't have the patience to listen to me OR really explain exactly what she wanted us to do. It makes me want to order all my bridesmaid dresses online from Modcloth, which just introduced a bridal line. read more

A few months after choosing my wedding dress I tried it on at home and ended up hating it :( It just didn't feel like the right dress anymore. While attending another appointment for my Mother and Mother in Law to try on dresses, I asked our consultant Sharon if I could return my dress and pick out another one. While my mother's tried on dresses Sharon quickly picked out a few dresses based on my feedback - it only took about 3 dresses for her to really figure out what I was looking for. She came back over with one more dress and I fell in love with it! I finally found my dream wedding dress, thanks to Sharon's patience, kindness in squeezing me into the existing appointment, and her keen eye. read more

My daughter bought her wedding gown at a local boutique shop in Poughkeepsie, NY. However, when she went for her first fitting we discovered they had ordered the WRONG dress and there was not enough time to re-order it in time for her wedding! That sent my daughter and I into a shopping frenzy. Not finding anything local, we decided to try David's Bridal in Colonie. I had heard the horror stories, so my expectations were low. I was not only pleasantly surprised, but I was THRILLED with the compassion and service we received. When we walked in the door, we were greeted by Patty. After hearing about our "emergency" situation and asking a few questions, she responded with such reassurance and confidence that it immediately melted away all the anxiety we were feeling. Patty brought us in the back and started pulling dresses to try on. At the same time, she gave us the freedom to look at dresses on our own. Patty provided the EXACT RIGHT AMOUNT of attention and space we needed. Patty was readily on hand for any questions or assistance, while maintaining a respectful distance. The whole experience was really wonderful and we ended up with a beautiful dress. I would give Patty 5 stars for helping us. The only reason I give the overall review 4 starts is because of my experience when going back to pick up the dress from the alterations dept. I know it was busy that day, but I got a real scare when the greeter up front couldn't find my daughter's name in the computer and again when the alterations dept couldn't find the dress. In fairness to them, I had forgotten my pink copy of the receipt and I guess their computer manages alterations differently, but I felt like the lady in alterations was a little annoyed with me about it. Eventually, they found the dress and it was done perfectly. I was also surprised they gave me the dress in just a cheap clear plastic bag like you get from the dry cleaner. I really had expected a zippered bag with their logo on it. So, David's...you lose 1 star for not closing the deal with the same professionalism as Patty cinched it in the first place. read more

I had a really great experience today. I have previously purchased two bridal gowns from David's Bridal. The first was purchased a few months after I got engaged. My sister and I made our appointments at the same time since we were both recently engaged. My sister went first and found her dream dress. When it came to be my turn, I was so caught up in the experience that I said yes to a dress I was only so-so on. This was at a different David's Bridal, which let me exchange the dress a few months later. Again, I felt pressured into making a decision as the consultants basically told me if I didn't make a decision then and there I would not be able to exchange the dress. So, yet again I purchased a dress that was not my dream gown. After months of stress, my parents took me to this David's Bridal as my wedding is less than 3 months away. I was so greatful when they agreed to let me exchange the dress and did not give me a hard time at all. I worked with Stephanie and she was very patient with me. I wanted something unique; not the typical cookie-cutter wedding gown. There was one I was set on but then Stephanie pulled a Melissa Sweet gown for me. I fell in love with it. She was so nice because I was having a hard time committing to the dress since it was double the price of my original dress. But, in the end it was the perfect dress for me. I found a veil to match and they even gave me 10% off since there was a tiny whole towards the bottom of the veil. Again, I am very greatful to the entire staff. I know other bridal shops are very firm on their no exchanges policy, but I am so happy they let me because now I am actually looking forward to walking down the aisle. read more

I had a bridal dress appointment for me upcoming wedding. I thought it was going to be a wonderful experience, which it was not. When I got there, there were a ton of different women there, you couldn't even move. At my appointment time, my "personal consultant" that was supposed to tend to me for an hour, picked out the 3 dresses I wanted to try on and disappeared until I decided I found the right one. She was running around helping other brides. Very disappointing. They had to order my size, and said it would be in on 3/4, which it actually came in sooner, so when I paid for my dress, I asked how much alterations would be and how quickly they could be done. They said alterations ran about $20 and I can do rush alterations which could be done overnight in most circumstances. When I came for my alteration appointment, I was told I would have to pay $115, for a dress that I paid $150 for. Waaaay more than $20, then they said they couldn't get my dress until 2 days before the wedding. NO WAY. They lie, do not go here. It is not worth the stress. read more

Unfortunately, I have had a bad experience at David's Bridal. My sister is getting married in September, and we had gone to David's Bridal a year ago to get color swatches so we had her exact colors. We chose a few swatches and were told that bridesmaid dresses would be available in both lace and non lace dresses in the chosen colors. We returned to David's Bridal to shop for bridesmaid dresses in her color and after two girls trying on dresses and choosing them as we are about to pay we are told that both dresses don't come in the color she wanted. My sister is devastated and beyond stressed out. We have planned her wedding and purchased decorations in accordance with the dresses being this certain color. I am very disappointed in the service we received as the employees didn't seem to have much sympathy for our situation. We were really hoping to order from David's Bridal, but we may have to take our business elsewhere now. read more

Do NOT go to this place. The worst service I have ever come across. They did nothing for us, left us alone for almost three hours. We had an appointment and had chosen almost 20 dresses in the profile on line. The salesperson didn't even know how to use a computer! She just wandered, only bringing about 6 of the dresses, one at a time! We had to keep finding her to go get another dress. There were other people picking up their dresses who we're having a horrible time. Alterations were wrong, one had a hole in her dress, they were yelling at each other! My daughter had an appt to try on gowns. The salesperson was very pleasant and helpful. We ordered her gown which was not by far the lower priced line. We received a curt call saying her gown was in and that it needed to be picked up the following week ( mind you 2 months prior to the fitting appt they set up) We arrived to pick up her gown - they brought it out to her crumpled up in a clear plastic bag - clearly how it was shipped to the store......The girl asked if she wanted to try it on and I said of course she does......The bag was actually taped around it with packing tape and my daughter had to rip it open - No assistance from the salesperson. The sash that came with the dress was not the one she wanted so we started looking for sashes - I told the salesperson that they wrote number of the sash she liked on her card - the salesperson disappeared and NEVER came back About 1/2 hour later the seamstress asked what we were waiting for and I asked her for a garmet bag and hanger for the dress - She said we would have to purchase a garmet bag but she gave us a hanger and regular plastic dress bag. We went to the front of the store and the salesperson was waiting on someone else.....and said Oh ya - here's the sash number.......Needless to say we WILL not be getting anything else from Davids Bridal shoes sashes bridesmaids dresses accesories and mother of the bride dresses or alterations - All will be purchased elsewhere - I wont be forgetting the look of disappointment on my daughters face when she pullled the crumpled dress out of the bag...... read more

I bought a beautiful dress from David's Bridal, at a very reasonable price. That being said, I was disappointed in the service and organization that my bridesmaids and I encountered at a variety of locations. David's Bridal seems to have a system in which they take bridesmaids information so that they can return to a store and easily try on or order a dress. However, I found that I had to give my bridesmaid's names and information multiple times as it was never in the system, and I was also told that they didn't have size information for a bridesmaid that I knew had been measured a few days before. The customer service at the stores was inconsistent. The woman who originally helped me pick out my dress was wonderful; she was very attentive, listening to my comments and choosing dress options accordingly, always seeming to be right there when I walked out of the dressing room so that she could adjust and clip the dresses or add accents (even though the store was busy and I knew she was helping other people at the time). At the Rochester store I was helped by a girl who actually stopped mid-sentence to have a casual conversation about switching hours with another employee. She also was not very helpful with explaining the colors of the dresses; she pointed to them on the chart, whereas my maid of honor was shown a full swatch book at the Burlington store so that she could see the difference in the color when it was used on different materials. FIttings were also an issue, with inconsistent information, odd scheduling, and mistakes. My bridesmaids were told that removeable straps and built-in bras were the way to go, whereas I specifically requested both and was talked out of both (but later told that if I didn't like the corset bra they had talked me into buying, that it would be no problem to sew one in, a comment that I found odd since that was what I originally wanted and was told it wasn't a good idea). One of my bridesmaids was told that she had to wait until shortly before the wedding to get a fitting because they prioritize brides who have waited until the last minute for their fittings. My maid of honor had at least three different fittings and in the end gave up and we supplies to sew her into her dress. It isn't that they measured wrong, rather that they sewed the zipper on in such a way that it broke every time it was used. The only bridesmaid who had no issues with her fitting was the one who did not use David's Bridal to do her alterations. However, I believe the worst issue I had was with record keeping and receiving my dress once it was ready. When I went to my original appointment I was given a piece of paper to fill out, and the details that I provided included my phone number and my email address. I was told, after purchasing my dress, that when it was ready I would be called and sent an email. I was starting to worry that my dress was late when I left for two weeks to celebrate Christmas out of town. When I returned, I found that my dress had been delivered to my house without my knowledge. Thankfully I had asked a friend to take in my mail, because otherwise my dress would have sat in my driveway the whole time I was gone, buried in two feet of snow. As it was only packaged in a cardboard box with just a little plastic around it I'm sure it would have been ruined. When I went back to the store where I had purchased the dress, they told me that they did not have my phone number or email in the system, even though I had provided it at my first appointment. Overall, I would recommend David's if you are looking for a less expensive (but still beautiful) wedding dress, but BE CAREFUL when dealing with them. read more

They don't answer the phone, don't ship things when promised, lie about shipments...and sooo much more. If you are planning a wedding or any event you are better off going to a flea market. Don't walk away...RUN!!! If your telling yourself "well the dresses are cheaper" not after alterations at David's bridal. They charge 3 times a private seamstress does for alterations. read more

Was the worst experience. They wrecked my entire day I left the store in tears! The sales person lied to me over the phone telling me there were plenty of dresses in my size to try on and plenty of dresses under $100. I drove an hour there to be told there was nothing there my size and nothing under $100 in the wedding gowns. Deb was rude. She clearly did not want to deal with me. She grudgingly found a dress for me to try on and walked away. She came back to collect the dress and tell me I was all set and could leave. I have never been married, never worn anything formal in my life. I was looking forward to the experience of trying on wedding dresses. I left the store to drive an hour home empty handed and in tears... I would never recommend this store to anyone. ITS HORRIBLE! read more

Had to be dragged to the store by my maid of honor. I hate dress shopping and I am a very specific about my likes and details. Patti was excellent!!! We talked briefly about what I wanted and got right down to business. She asked a few questions and we hit the ground running. I didn't need a strapless bra, they had them right there. Heels and multiple headpieces/veils to try out. Courtney (from the Middletown store)was also great help. Four dresses in and I had my dress. I was a walk-in on a Saturday and it was so easy and stress free. They also know all the answers for fitting and alterations. I was also able to save $500. Love my dress and absolutely loved my consultant, Rachael D. She was super helpful and so sweet! I went on the weekend so it was busy and Rachael had multiple clients at once. Again, she was great and managed to make it work and do her job perfectly, but I feel that it would have made her job easier if there had been more consultants on hand for all the clients. There was also a slight mix up with my appointment, as I had scheduled it online and had a confirmation number and everything, yet was told at the desk that they did not have me scheduled for an appointment. In summary, I had a great experience because of Rachael and was ultimately able to find my dress, but Davids Bridal could have had there ducks all in a row a bit more. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how attentive the consultant was when my daughter and I just walked in without an appointment. Jonathan, the consultant, listened to everything my daughter said she wanted In her gown. We had been to a few other very small high end shops that were amazing, but Jonathan really listened to what she wanted and he found her dream gown. If you can request Jonathan you will not be disappointed. read more

I was recently in to purchase a second dress as I had an awful experience in the Danbury location and would not even go back to that location to exchange my dress. When I arrived there they never offered me a garment or shoes to try dresses on with. The dresses I had listed as my favorites on the website were not even pulled. I felt like she was not hearing me or understanding my vision. My bridesmaids had to pull their own dresses as our consultant kept disappearing. At one point she sat down on the floor in front of the girls dressing rooms complaining that her knee hurt. The list goes on but I will not bore you further. Needless to say when my bridesmaids dresses come in we are taking them elsewhere for alterations. Thank God for my trip to Albany, they scheduled me with Jonathan who was a dream. He made me feel at ease and pulled all the dresses I requested. Even the ones he pulled, that he thought I would like were right on point. He made sure I had a garment and insisted I try on dresses wearing the heels so that I could see the proper hem line even though I will be wearing flats the day of our wedding. He was so right! I found a dress that I absolutely love and don't feel at all like I settled. I am not thrilled that I now have to drive back and fourth to Albany to pick up dress and go back for fitting as as it is a bit of a drive for me and my family but I had no other option as the money was spent and I could not go elsewhere to look for dresses being my credit was with David's. My suggestion to any girl in the area would be to ask for Jonathan if you want to use David's. But, just know going in that you will not be given the one on one experience you would expect. Appointment are overbooked. There is not enough seating for parties to accompany the bride comfortably, its almost like they are in the way. Be sure of what you purchase as you can not return for a refund, only a store credit. What is more frustrating is that I sent an email to the company to let them know about our experience in Danbury and I never heard a word. Customer service most definitely lacking. read more

I am writing this review of the alteration department of David's Bridal. My daughter is a soon to be bride and had her first fitting with them. They took their time and told her everything they were going to do and why. After the fitting, she got very nervous and didn't think the dress was going to be the way she had thought. I called them up and they very nicely offered to have her back in to re-try on the dress. Maria spent her time making sure my daughter's dress was just the way she wanted it and was extremely patient...me not so much. When her veil finally came in from another store, I went to the David's Bridal and the alteration team very nicely pulled the dress out so that I could make sure the veil matched. I am hoping the final fitting goes just as smooth. I feel those girls have the hardest jobs there and probably don't get as much credit as they deserve. They make the dresses beautiful on our daughters. Keep up the good work and thanks for being so attentive, patient and helpful. read more

We were a walk-in and the consultant assigned to us was 3 weeks into her job, but was wonderfully helpful. We purchased the wedding dress. We returned, with appointments, on 2 other occasions with the bridesmaids and it was a nightmare!!. The one-on-one connection was non-existent, and our scheduled consultant was also scheduled with 2 other parties leaving us to fend for ourselves. When we went over our "appointment" time, the manager politely asked us to move our stuff into 1 room (there were 5 bridesmaids) to open the dressing room to another appointment. Then she reminded us again our "appointment time" was over and we could schedule to come back to try on more dresses. #1, getting everyone together was very difficult; #2, we wasted most of our "appointment time" searching for our own dresses and #3 no appointment is necessary, we all walked out pissed and went to a nice little boutique up the road and purchased all 5 dresses AND tuxes AND mother or the bride dresses, which were better made AND in the same price range!! And guess what?!?! As busy as they were, our needs were attended to. The ONLY REGRET I have... we already purchased the wedding dress from David's. read more

I made an appointment for prom dress shopping and arrived about 20 minutes early with my daughter. We were told we could look through the dresses until our appointment time. We found four dresses to try on, two were on the 50% off rack. A store associate came to help us just as we felt we needed help. So far so good. We were taken to a somewhat crowded dressing room area and were promptly left alone as the clearly overscheduled associate was helping someone else. After waiting for a while, I started helping my daughter try on dresses. The associate did return to us and give some assistance, but I had to continue helping my daughter in and out of the dresses. She loved one we had chosen off the sale rack - great! The associate told us it would be 50% off. We went to check out and it came up as full price. I told the clerk it was from the 50% off rack. She called the manager and then said they would honor 50% off. The manager then showed up and said, no, they would not do that. And she was rude, but did not want us to leave unhappy so offered us $20.00 off. A bit of a let down after being told more than once that it would be 50% off of a $250.00 dress. Also, they do not register each dress purchased and the school it will be worn to, to avoid more than one person wearing the same dress to the same event. They did have a help wanted sign posted on the front door. They should start by hiring a new manager. We will not return to this store. read more
