I AM FURIOUS. let me start off by saying I drove an hour and 20 minutes to David's Bridal in Danbury because I heard nothing but good things, my experience today was everything BUT that. Myself, my mother in law to be, and my 3 best friends and bridesmaids walked in today to be greeted by the woman at the front (which was fine) she proceeded to tell me Stephanie was running behind and it would be a few minutes. My girls and I went to sit down and started looking at some styles because I had no idea what look I was going for. When Stephanie came she asked me the look I was going for and I told her that after looking at a few styles I wanted to go with a mermaid style dress but also wanted to try on a ball-gown style because I also likes that, she didn't ask AT ALL if I wanted straps, strapless, sweetheart (etc.) just measured me and started bringing over dresses. The first dress I tried on I didn't like at all which was like ball-gown so I told her I wanted to stick with the mermaid style, so the second dress I tried on I LOVED, I anxiously said, this is it! but my girls recommended I try on the SAME STYLE in different fabrics being that the one I loved was lace, during all this she was barley around, didn't check in kept walking away, didn't ask if I liked it or what I didn't like. She then brought me back over 3 more dresses that were completely different styles and so ugly I didn't even want to try them on, but I did. My girls were obviously giving me feedback so Stephanie proceeds to say "if you want your friends to help you they can because we are on a time limit" (mind you she made me wait 15 minutes from when I got there) As she was walking away I asked her if I could try on the original dress I loved in white since the one I tried on originally was ivory, she told me in the store they only come in ivory and walked away. My matron of honor had HAD IT, she started shuffling through all the dresses herself and found 3 of the style I loved in different fabric AND the original dress I LOVED IN WHITE!!!! after Stephanie just said they didn't have them. When talking about the veil I asked my matron of honor if she wanted to put it in for me because she is a bridal hairstylist for a living and has probably put in 1,000 veils, the last time I tried on the veil Stephanie handed it to my matron of honor and said very rudely "Let the Expert put it in". Once I decided on the dress and the veil she came over and had a complete attitude change, being so nice saying "didn't I do good? I knew what you wanted I could tell, so, are you saying yes to the dress? can I ring the bell?" (ringing the bell means a bride has found her dress and will most likely will be buying it that day) I was like, wait, what.? you were NO HELP! I loved the dress so much I had every intention on buying it today but after the experience I had I told her I was going to sleep on it. I was not about to give her an OUNCE of commission or credit for such a rude and horrible experience. I am SO upset I will be calling the David's Bridal that is only 30minutes from my house to make another appointment and hopefully purchase my dress. I do NOT recommend Danbury AT ALL. read more

I made an appointment for this past Friday at 1:00. I brought my two daughters (5 and 7), two of my bridesmaids, my Aunt and my soon to be Mother in Law (and my Soon to be Father in law showed up too) they were not bothered by the amount of people I had. I walked in and was greeted by one of the employees. She was completely ready for me with my paperwork and favorites list printed out from their website. She let me walk around until everyone else arrived. Then I met with my Consultant Amanda. She was Very sweet and engaged in conversation with me about my wedding, how I met my fiancé and about my daughters. She already had the dress I had wanted put aside then asked what styles I was interested in. I told her anything Not strapless. She brought out 3 other dresses in my price range. I went to try on the 1st one, she brought me a strapless corset to wear underneath. She attached the halter and zipped me right up. She was even shocked the dress fit me Perfectly!. I walked out and everyone gasped. My Future Mother in law was in Tears and my Aunt was All smiles. My daughters said I looked like a princess :) Amanda said every other one that tried on this dress All needed an Alteration somewhere. But I didn't at all! Amanda brought me a veil that matched and that finished off the look. I am only 5'4" so the length did worry me which is why I brought a pair of wedges to wear. They weren't tall enough so Amanda brought me a silver sparkly pair to try on. Again Perfect fit and gave me the exact height I needed. I tried on the other 3 dresses just in case. They were all beautiful but none compared to the first. So I ended up getting the Dress, corset, shoes AND veil. When we went to buy everything the woman behind the counter was also very sweet and even commented on me not needing any alterations and how rare that was. That made me feel very good. She said they will be cleaning and checking every part of the dress to make sure there were no tears, beading issues, etc and that we can pick it up August 1st. I had a Wonderful experience at the Danbury Davids Bridal. My consultant was perfect for me and all the other ladies I interacted with were great too. It was the first bridal salon I went to and first time looking at and trying on dresses for my wedding. With that being said I would recommend The Danbury Davids Bridal to anyone. This was my 5th visit to David's Bridal and I've been mostly pleased each time. My cousin and sister both bought beautiful dresses there. I know David's Bridal sometimes gets frowned upon as having less desirable gowns or dare I say "cheap", with many brides in this area choosing to go for the big name store in NYC, but I'm a firm believer that you can find a gem anywhere if you're selective enough and you don't have to pay a fortune. My sister got a beautiful, classy gown last year for $300 (it was unexpectedly on sale). I found their selection easily met my needs and I consider myself rather picky with higher end tastes. I just went for my 2nd visit to try on bridal gowns there and was even more pleased than the 1st time. First off, I called the day of asking if they could squeeze me in on a Sunday no less. They lady on the phone was very accomodating even though they were short-staffed due to a consultant calling in sick. The staff was friendly and not overwhelming. My consultant Tiffany was really great. Even though I came with a list of dresses to pull, she still suggested I walk with her as she pulled gowns to see if there was anything else I'd like and so that she could get some ideas. This was something my first consultant in August, nor my sister's consultant had done, so I was pleasantly surprised. Tiffany quickly learned what I liked and didn't and pulled some gowns not on my list which I ended up liking as well. She was attentive, but not pushy or smothering at all. Her timing was very efficient. She didn't impose her opinion unless she felt like I needed a little reassurance. She pulled just the right accessories. She suggested I take a little walk and break to contemplate with my family and let it sink in as to whether the dress was right for me, which was a great suggestion and it helped me make my decision. I ended up choosing the right gown for me. She didn't rush ne at all. Although the appointment ended up lasting over 2 hours and another party ended up overlapping my visit at the end, Tiffany remained attentive til the end. I highly recommend her as a consultant and have only had positive experiences with David's Bridal in Danbury. They also have a friendly, accomodating alterations department. read more

I am originally from NY but recently moved to Texas due to my fiance being stationed in Ft.Hood. I was home for a few days so my mother, sister, and bridesmaids brought me to the Danbury store in hopes of finding my dress so we can cross it off the list. I am not a very big girly girl, so they were all way more excited about it then I was. Did I mention that all 4 of them have different styles and different things they wanted to see me in? Yeah, I said a quick prayer and walked in to the store. Amanda was our consultant and she was FANTASTIC! I have the crazy kind of family where my mom, sister, sister in law, and best friend were pulling dresses left and right and asking for all sorts of requests from Amanda, but Amanda helped us with a smile on her face at all times. When she came into the dressing room with me, I apologized for my family's crazy behavior and told her that I wasn't into this kind of thing. She put me at ease right away and just told me to have fun. And that's what we did! Well needless to say, I tried on at least 15 dresses- all of which I disliked because it just didn't fit right. Just when I was losing hope (and we were about to be done with our appointment) Amanda said those magical words, "Hold on, I want to try ONE MORE dress out on you that I think you would look fantastic in." So She got the dress, I tried it on and HOLY BABY GEZUZ! It looked beautiful! I loved loved loved it. I walked out and my whole family loved it and I actually teared up (I'm not the girly, crying type.) I bought it right then and there and thanked Amanda. She even took up for an extra few minutes so I can ask her questions and so we can find the perfect belt for it. If you do go into this store, Ask for Amanda! (Especially if you are a younger bride. I mean, she's great with everyone but shes probably 30 or under so she's a lot of fun to work with!) Thanks so much to the Danbury store and to my fabulous consultant, Amanda! This was the first spot on my wedding dress tour...I'll confess - I was both nervous, and not expecting much...I'm a bigger girl, and the prospect of trying on wedding dresses was a fate worse than death...right up there with shopping for jeans and bathing suits. BUT, I'm happy to report that I wouldn't and couldn't have imagined a better process, or a better group of women to help. My future mother in law, and sister in law, and I all piled into the car (without an appointment I might add), and drove up to DB - really thinking that we would look through the dresses, and then probably leave. We were greeted by Karin at the front door, who took down some information, and let me know that someone would be available to help us soon (as there were a few appointments already in progress). We didn't mind waiting - Karin was attentive, kept checking back in with us, showed us where to look for the things we had told her we wanted, gave us our goodie bag and explained how things work. The entire time we were there, Karin kept checking in, making sure we were happy, and helping out where needed. When we met with Lisa (she had literally just helped someone find their dream dress - so cool), we knew that we had found a special group. Lisa is tremendous. So sweet, bubbly, knowledgeable, and helpful. She makes you feel incredibly comfortable, and shares her honest opinion. While I'm still new to the wedding dress game, I have to say that I will DEFINITELY go back to THIS David's Bridal! I will request the same crew...it was an absolute pleasure to work with them, and to watch them work. They're a special store (I've seen a lot of other reviews of other locations that aren't very favorable - but this store is different). It was my first bridal dress experience and lets just say it was pretty terrible. I made an appointment and I had someone helping me and pulling dresses but then she got called to work with some bridesmaids. I made an appointment to try on dresses and I only was given a certain amount of time for the appointment. Once the time ran out I could't try on anymore dresses so to hear that I had to share my time with someone else? I was not happy. I did find a dress I liked and asked the lady helping me to write it down for me. She told me it would be online under my favorites... This never happened. I have no idea which dress I liked or tried on. What a waste of a trip. I won't be coming back. I went to a different bridal dress store and I was treated like a human being and they gave me the attention I needed without an appointment and without time constraints. Davids Bridal is unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend them. PS. The prices there aren't that cheap either, the dress I liked was 1,400 and it was shown to me even though I told the sales girl I didn't want to see anything over 1,000. If you are in the danbury location I would suggest Julie Allens in Newtown. Everyone was very nice and they stayed there after hours to help me and I didn't have an appointment. I had heard some negative things about David's Bridal, so I was hesitant to go, but knew I didn't have a ton of money to spend on a gown and wanted to try on gowns in my size. I am not a hugely abnormal size, but am plus size and know that many bridal boutiques do not have gowns that plus sized women can try on. I made an appointment for a weekend, and when we got there is was moderately busy but nothing over the top. I told the consultant the look I was going for, and she asked me my street size, and just by guessing got me the perfect gown size, which seemed difficult because they are not the same sizes at all. I ended up choosing the third dress she brought me, which on the hanger was so unimpressive, but on me, I was floored. My mom started crying and that was it, it was my dress. Everyone was super nice and gave me all the attention I needed...I am low maintenance, so I will admit that I wasn't much of a time commitment. I bought my dress, veil, and slip that day, and it was extremely affordable. I also did alterations with them and because there was no hemming involved, it was also a fairly affordable expense. I would definitely go back for any other formal event dress I was in need of. Great experience! read more

So I went to Davids Bridal yesterday with a dress I had purchased at the Manchester store but was not happy with, so I called the Danbury location and scheduled an appointment. I go into the store yesterday gave my name the store manager new who I was, which she received me into the store with such welcome she is so professional, So then she introduces me to Amanda the bridal consultant who is going to help me, ladies reading this if your out there looking to buy a gown and don't know where to start go to this location and ask for Amanda not only did she help me choose the best bridal gown she helped me understand and knew what I was looking for by only looking at pictures I had in my iPad to show her. I did not feel pressured took my time and with carefully trying on all the gowns I found the one I was looking for. Amanda knew and helped me select that perfect dress and made me look and feel beautiful in it. I have the dress I love I will be renewing my vows in September 2016 and i will be going to Davids bridal at this location not to return my dress but to buy my shoes and veil that I need for my event. I went this location after a terrible experience in the Orange CT location. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The store manager introduced herself to me, and inquired about the purpose of my visit. I informed her I was there to try on some bridal gowns with my mom, mother in law and bridal party. She pulled my favorites from my profile online along with some other styles i had shown them. She introduced me to my consultant Ashley. She was so cute and nice. She assisted me in anyway that me or my bridal party needed. She gave me options in gowns and listened to everything I said. She kept the options and dresses flowing for me to try on. She stayed in my budget and informed me if she brought something over outside of it what I was looking at in difference of price $$. The store manager offered my girls and mothers to look around for me. I found the perfect dress!!! And I said yes to my dress!!! Ashley and everyone there, thank you for all of your help. I will always go back to this location and i highly recommend it. I will definately be back here with my girls for their dresses. This is how a bride should feel! read more

I originally went to the David's Bridal in Middletown NY. I had a terrible experience (just customer service, not the dresses). I heard great things about the Danbury CT Davids Bridal and decided to check them out. Not only did I say yes to the dress, which I love, it is stunning and above anything else exactly what I was looking for. The dress was at a great price and so was the 'poof' that went under it. Angelica is AMAZING! I brought 5/6 bridesmaids to try on bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses. We are a roughty bunch. Angelica always fun, energetic, knowledgeable and made everything effortless! If she didn't have an answer and needed to look it up she did it in a timely fashion. She new off hand any size, cut, alteration or color of any of the dresses we all tried on. Angelica was also honest and didn't pressure me to go out of my budget and/or style. She literally helped pull dresses, help me change, and answered all of my questions. (Which I definitely had a ton!) Also to add, the store was clean and VERY organized! I would recommend over and over to anyone. I've actually considered going back for formal dresses! read more

Purchased my dress from David's Bridal five months ago and had my first appointment with alterations yesterday and it did not start out well. When I received my dress after purchasing it, I decided that I really didn't like it and it just wasn't me. That feeling was confirmed when I got back into the dress for alterations. I seriously hated my dress! I wish I could remember names because the lady in alterations and one of the young ladies that works on the floor were absolutely fabulous. They had me look at other dresses, try a few others on and gave me options on what could be done to my dress to make me love it. In the end I went with the suggestions and changes that were added to my dress and I absolutely love it!!!!! I want to thank Heather at David's bridal for making our shopping experience enjoyable, fun and complete. I was there with my niece, who is the bride to be, my daughter, niece's friend and the future mother in law. We were warmly greeted and shown the dresses right away. We were asked plenty of questions, and my niece, who had scoped the dresses on the website, was treated with great regard. They had the dress she had found on line, and after trying on others, we all knew this was the one. My niece had a wonderful experience at a store that has prices for every price point and makes the day extra special when you find "the dress." I had a wonderful experience at this location. Lisa helped me pick out the perfect dress and was so patient throughout the process. After trying on just one dress and hearing my feedback she was able to pick out a different dress that she thought I might like and one in which we hadn't picked out at the beginning. I ended up loving and buying that dress! She was great with knowing her inventory and what would suit my likes as well as my body and personality. I was completely confident in her abilities and felt that she had my best interest at heart and wasn't just trying to make a sale. I am not one to wear dresses i went in there with a bunch of picture and asked for the a certain fabric what was not what I really wanted it was total opposite. I am a very difficult person to shop dressy for and Tiffany was wonderful. she got great styles and 1st time looking for a dress she got me to say I love the Dress she is a great consultant. great with picking out dressing and even if i did not like it had me show my family. she is very laid back and great picking out sizes and styles. she got accessories to go with the dress she was very patient and even let us go over the appointment time. I went to the store twice, the visits were one week apart. Janice was there both times to help me in and out of dresses. I had so many 'favorites' on my list, that I thought I would never find the right dress. I had appointments for 1.5 hrs, and even though I went overtime, I never felt rushed. Janice was there to make sure I found the right dress for me, not just a pretty dress that fit. Eventually, after trying on almost every dress I could think of, I found the perfect dress! The whole store staff was amazing and I wish I could go back every week to try more dresses on. They all made me feel so beautiful and ultimately helped me find an amazing gown. I visited this location in the end of November and that was my 2nd visit to David's Bridal-my first was in Yonkers. I absolutely loved the atmosphere in Danbury-everybody there were very helpful and supportive and extremly nice. Additionally, they accomodated me without the appointment. I not only bought there my dress, but also found perfect veil and shoes. I had full attention of my lovely consultant-unfortunatelly I can't remember her name, but she was very friendly and helpful. I recommend this location to everybody as the staff was wonderful! And I felt, that they also had more gowns to choose from than other David's Bridal stores. read more

My experience at David's Bridal was amazing. I had the pleasure of working with Tiffany who was the sweetest and most helpful girl ever!! I told her all of the things I didn't like and she made me try them on anyway and I ended up with the dress of my dreams because she told me just to try it on. She did not push me into settling on a gown and encouraged me to try on many materials and styles before I made my final decision. My daughter and I had a HORRIBLE experience at David's Bridal in Yonkers, NY. The next day I decided to make an appointment at this David's bridal in Danbury. We drove an hour out of our way to try agin somewhere new and I'm so glad we did. First of all, we spoke to Miranda on the phone and she was amazing and had dresses waiting for us when we got there! Then once we were there, Sherry helped us and we were in and out in 30 minutes with a dress! I'm so glad we decided to give the Danbury store a shot!
