I had the WORST experience at David's Bridal with my dress- 3 times- same dress. First it was not there when I was told it was for my first fitting. I drove an hour, everyone ran around for a moment, they even put me in a dressing room- only to finally, 20-30 minutes later for someone to finally tell me it was not there. Even though I got a confirmation email- it was NOT there. Then I finally saw the alteration, she was extremely nice and helpful- more than anyone else- however I wrote down my measurements at the same time she did, when I went back to try it in I couldn't breathe. Her notes had her take an inch off my bust. After all of that, they couldn't get me my dress until the Monday of the week of my wedding. They did not fix the problem, they created more. As soon as I put it on at home the zipper actually fell out. Barely hanging on by a thread. The pads for the bust- which they "sewed" in, fell of in the bag on the way home. The bustle was so awful it looked like I was wearing a dirty diaper. I cried and thought my wedding was ruined. Luckily, I was able to get the zipper changed into a corset lace up back, she also fixed my bustle so I could easily slip it on my wrist. The hem line was also uneven. David's was supposed to remove fabric from the shoulders so it wouldn't gap- but they did not. So it gaps. In every picture. It was a beautiful dress but the seamstress I found made it awesome. David's, did not. Nor did they show appropriate concern that my wedding was 4 days from when I picked up a dress they messed up. I will NEVER shop at David's again, and will tell absolutely anyone thinking about going my story. I got married on March 20 and had to give myself some cooling off before I wrote this- because it was SUCH a big deal. I paid more for the bad alterations than the dress itself. Just think twice before going to David's. I wouldn't even give it one star The staff was so insanely unhelpful. Let's start by the dress: I didn't realize that David's bridal sold dresses made in China. If this is the case why are they so highly priced? The quality of the dress (style #F20320) is horrible, so horrible in fact it's falling apart from the seams. It's see through and poorly made. Although there is some quality products made in China this was definitely not one. Customer Service: I started off speaking with a very pleasant gal but unfortunately my concerned required a manager. I was lucky enough to meet the manager on staff 12/21/23 @ 11:15am. I started a casual conversation mentioning that I've been a David bridal customer for years in all three states I've lived in and never did I once notice that dresses were made in China. I proceeded to show the "manager" the flaws of the dress such as the large amount of strings hanging from a seams. The unconcerned bothered look on her face already prepared me for a snarky answer, she said "If you have a receipt you can return it". In my experience working in customer service I don't believe the customer is always right but I do believe in trying to find a solution. Such as, let's see what our alterations department can do to asses the loose strings or the fabric poking out in the chest area. Maybe even try and find an alternate dress that may be of better quality. A good manager contains knowledge regarding the products they sell and tries to at least to find a solution, not this one. Ma'am if you don't care for your position find something else that brings you joy. David's Bridal is supposed to be a happy place, your attitude just isn't it. Everyone sacrifices to be able to purchase what they believe to be nice products therefore the seller should also sacrifice to provide good quality customer service and products. My friend (the bride) made an appointment, yet they couldn't figure out who was supposed to help her..15 mins later after we wander around the store, the lady comes over. We tell her what the wedding colors are and she's not that helpful. After one of our girls tries on 4 different dresses, we look at the chart and realize that chocolate isn't even a choice for those types of dresses! Why didn't the lady help us?! Plus, it's kind of trashy in there, as in, wear flip flops cuz you don't wanna walk around barefoot. Oh well, my dress is gonna be cute at least! ;) read more

My appointment was awful. 1. I had picked out some dresses online. Despite showing them to the consultants I did not get to try any of those choices on. 2. I was saying simple and I kept getting sequins and rhinestones. That stuff just isn't me. 3. They put me in a super padded bra and petticoat even though I said I didn't want either one of those items. 4. She knew I wasn't happy and just gave up. There was a dress I liked, but it wasn't the one. She even said "This isn't your dress", but she made NO effort to bring out similar dresses. 5. The alterations girl was worse than awful. From what I've heard David's Bridal has ridiculously expensive alterations and the girl basically told me no for everything. I asked if the dress could be sweetheart and she said "I guess, but it will pucker." Why the F would I want my dress to pucker? So unhelpful. Don't go here. read more

Again, watch out for that 30% interest rate credit application that they try to slide in with the forms asking about your wedding. Sneaky and they lost points for that. Still, I rate them higher than the Frisco location because they did clearly point out that this was a credit application and not part of the actual paperwork! TIP#1 : Make an appointment! Especially if you want to go in on a weekend. If you go in, be sure to ask for Shelby. She's kind, considerate, helpful and very knowledgeable about their product lines. That said, again, they don't carry a lot of gowns above a size 14. TIP #2: Since wedding dresses run about 2 sizes smaller than regular dresses, that means if you're bigger than a 12 you may have problems. TIP#3: This store also doesn't carry the full David's line, either. So call ahead if you have a specific dress you want to try on to be sure that they have it and that they have one in a size you can try on. Most of their nicer wedding dresses are in the $900-$1000 range so cheaper than some of the boutiques but still not "cheap". The brides maid's dresses tend to run in the $100-$200 range, which IMHO, is a bit pricey for a dress that your best girls are only going to wear once. read more

I have mixed feelings. Two stars feels too harsh but three feels too generous. The saleswomen are certainly pleasant enough. But even a kind smile and lovely demeanour doesn't help bad product. A bit of warning: I'm a plus sized woman. I fell in love with a tea-length lace number I saw on their website, and went into a store to try it on. I announced I was only interested in tea length dresses. The first dress she brought me was what I not-so-lovingly refer to as "poofy Princess dress." It is exactly the wedding dress I imagined for myself when I was 6. It was poofy, floofy, beaded and laced, fancy, smancy and entirely not what I wanted as a grown woman. Perhaps she just wanted to start me off with something traditional, so I can't get too upset. It took a while, but eventually she found the one I had seen online and I tried it on. For good measure, she brought less poofy full length dresses for me to try, as if she was still trying to persuade me back into the real of long dresses with huge trains. One thing I've learned about DB's plus size line is that they believe that if you have a big waist, you have big boobs. GIGANTIC boobs. On the dresses, this is a good thing: it's easier to take in for us smaller breasted fat girls than to add for more endowed ladies. But, on their undergarments, it's a huge disadvantage. In my experience at least, they run about a cup size and a half large. Ultimately, the woman trying to help me find an undergarment kindly told me to just go to Lane Bryant. She did it as tastefully and as sympathetically as she could. Still, it's annoying that DB has such a poorly made plus sized line. If you're not going to do it well, don't do it, or at least put a little more effort into it. All 'n all, I don't know exactly what to say. It's a large national chain, so you're getting a department store treatment for what really needs to be very personal and one-on-one. I don't know how much I can fault them for anything. read more

I bought my dress from this location over a year ago, plus all of my bridemaid's dresses, and have had a great experience each time. Everyone there has a great personality and is very helpful. Ask for April when you go...she is so awesome! My only complaint with this location was alterations. I only had one bridesmaid that needed alterations to her dress, so we made an appointment. Again, the person I spoke with on the phone was very helpful in getting us in last minute. The woman taking her measurements, however, was another story. I don't remember her name, but I do remember she was an older woman with dark skin and she was VERY rude and had zero personality...complete opposite of my earlier experiences. It's too long of a story to explain on here, but I will definitely be saying something to the management about her. Otherwise, I am so happy with this David's Bridal! My appointment was on a Saturday morning. I tried on both wedding dresses and my bridesmaids tried on dresses as well. My consultant was great, very helpful and pulled a variety of dresses. What I love about Davids is that they had a variety of everything. I did find 3 dresses that I really liked. I ultimately ended up going with a dress from another store but it was very tough decision. My bridesmaids purchased their gowns at Davids. They have a great selection of accessories. I found a cute pair of shoes for the big day. I was two months out from my wedding so the fact that we were able to find both wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses that could be ordered in time for the wedding was huge. My consultant was very helpful in looking up each dress and checking to see if it would be available in time. Overall good experience. read more

The Frisco location is definitely closer to me, but I had such a terrible experiences that I decided to drive a little farther. I'm new to the whole shopping for gowns/being a bride thing and didn't realize I should have made an appointment, but even though they were fairly busy, they still helped me out. I would have been SO lost trying to do things on my own and was grateful for their help. I was afraid that shopping for a dress was going to be extremely stressful -- especially with the way I was treated at the Frisco location, but this DB made it stress free and fun! read more

My experience at this place was amazing. I was so nervous and kind of scared going into my dress fitting. I made an appointment online and when I got to the store I was greeted very nicely. I had screenshot some of the dresses I wanted to try on, out of the 6 I screenshot, they only had 2, the rest were discontinued. They have so many more at the store!!! I was able to put on the undergarments myself and then Liz, the consultant came in to put the gowns on me, I tried 3 of them, by the 2nd one I was in love! But the 3rd one was definitely THE ONE!!! She did an amazing job in bringing out dresses that fit my body great, she knows her stuff well! She's sweet and caring, she wanted to know about my wedding, and fiancé. I happened to be visiting a sister in Texas with my family and the night before, decided we would try on wedding dresses "just for fun". I thought I would end up getting my dress from a boutique in Colorado. When we got there the next day, we were all welcomed and were told to look around while my consultant got read. We were there a little early. After looking, I got a few ideas when looking around. J.J. was my consultant and did an amazing job at listening to what I wanted. She pulled probably 5 dresses to start with, and each one I tried on, I liked a little more than the other. Then we tried on some different styles and pushed my boundaries to see if I was interested in something else other than what I imagined. Thank goodness for J.J. pushing me out of my comfort zone a little. We ended up finding two absolutely amazing dresses, and I couldn't decide between the two. J.J. in no way pressured me into making a decision. She did great visualizations that even made me tear up thinking about how much I love my fiancé. But I still couldn't decide. She actually encouraged me to take my time in deciding and even offered for me to come back later if needed. Sure enough, we left and came back two hours later with a decision. Now, I can't stop looking at pictures of me in my dress. I cannot wait for my fiancé to see it in June! I never though David's Bridal would have so many options, and such GREAT customer service. I went to David's Bridal in their new location at the Vista Ridge Mall. I don't usually write reviews or complain, but I really feel like these girls that work there need better training on how to provide customer service.I went there looking for a Mother of the Bride Dress. First off, the selection was not good. They assigned me a dressing room and the girl said she would check back with me. She never checked back. I had to go up to the front desk to get help where three girls were just setting and chatting. There was no other customer in the store. She never offered any suggestions, what looked good, what didn't. I really feel like if I would have gotten better service, I would have either bought something there or ordered online. But they just really did not seem to care one way or the other. They really need to step up their service if they expect to survive. It's all about customer service in this industry. read more

I went here in January to pick out my dress for my wedding. They made me feel a little out of place as we had not picked out a date yet, but since I am working out of town I wanted to make sure I got my dress so that when we do have the wedding I'm not in panic mode. It took awhile for them to get someone to help me and then when they did she seemed like she was somewhere else or really didn't want to help me. I was there by myself since my family lives in Seattle and they really kind of made that noticeable and uncomfortable. I did get the dress I wanted, but felt that she really couldn't give me an honest opinion on if the dress looked good on me or not. I would give this location no star if possible. I walked in to browse, and I was in this location for about 15-20 minutes while the women stood at the hostess desk, gossiping. So they were clearly NOT busy. When my maid of honor and I were about to leave, we were finally greeted and asked what we were looking for. My experience at David's Bridal today couldn't have been better. I went to a David's bridal at another location and that appointment was horrendous. Today, I had some time before I had to go to work so I just walked in. Even though I didn't have an appointment and the only consultant that was there this morning had a bridesmaid appointment, I was taken care of to the fullest! I felt like I was her only client. I found THE dress and also purchased a veil and tiara. The store manager offered to take pictures of me and a video so that I could share my experience with my mom in California. Jessica, my consultant, couldn't have done a better job of helping me find my wedding dress. I've been engaged since June but today was the first time I felt like a bride. read more

This was my second visit to a David's Bridal. My first was in Frisco and I wasn't attended to very well. I'm the Matron of Honor for my best friend's wedding in Arizona. I'm in Dallas. This creates a bit of chaos when it comes to selecting dresses since I was told "long" and a general color. Carson helped me pick several dresses and immediately checked to make sure the dress would be here in time and in the color I needed. He was amazing and even helped take pictures to send to the bride for approval. He was super patient and never made me feel rushed or an inconvenience...a complete 180 from my first experience in Frisco. Thank you Carson! Going to David's Bridal, you have to recognize that you are dealing with a corporate entity with retail employees who may or may not like their jobs. Just like going to Walmart, Abercrombie, or any other retail clothing store that is a national chain. These are not designer or high class dresses, but they get the job done. I went into the store under unusual circumstances. I am not a bridesmaid, I am a "groomschick" because my best guy friend is getting married to an awesome gal, and he asked me to be a part of his wedding. I also live in Dallas while the bride and groom live in Houston. I initially tried on the dresses in Houston, and the staff there was wonderful, doting over the Bride. I had to purchase the dress at the location in Lewisville at a later date because of how my finances worked out. The staff in lewisville seemed to not know what to do with me because I came in with another guy friend, and I was rocking the "camping" look, in hiking boots, jeans, and a hoodie. They were very polite, but since I only knew details of the groom's side of things, it took a long time to figure out what event in their system they needed to find because I didn't even know the bridesmaids names. I knew they were busy so I tried to be understanding. There were about five groups of women all needing assistance, and I was trying to order a dress at the last minute and looked like I'd probably never worn a dress in my life. The staff didn't make me feel uncomfortable, the clientele did. My friend Travis and I ended up sitting around, browsing dresses for fun, and making fun of some really stupid dresses for about 2 hrs. We were tired and losing patience, but it was fun over all because David's Bridal is not really a store where we usually loiter. We were quiet and making sure not to be obnoxious, but the female customers everywhere kept eyeing us and saying judgemental things under their breath. I decided to come back the next day, this time with my boyfriend, and we were all dressed up for a date later that day and being lovey-dovey. The management didn't even recognize me... it amused me the difference in enthusiasm I got when I no longer looked like I was about to go hunting. :) Kathryn, the associate who helped me the most on the previous day DID recognize me and was just as helpful and less stressed because she didn't have so many groups of people being really demanding. She helped me get my order taken care of, even gave me a helpful discount, and answered every question I had. IN A NUTSHELL: The retail employees for this chain are just like any other. Some of them are wonderful and some are less attentive and careful. The clientele (at least in Lewisville) seem to be predominantly lower class, disrespectful, and overly demanding of the staff, so you should keep this in mind when you are dealing with a frazzled employee, she's smiling at you and WANTS to be helpful but some brat just chewed her out for no good reason in the next dressing room, so she's trying really hard not to take it out on you. If you want more individualized attention for your big day, go to a designer or a boutique, not a Wedding-In-A-Box store. But if you just need a dress for a wedding, and need it fast and fairly cheap, David's Bridal is the place to go. read more

This was the message I sent to Corporate and this pretty much sums up my opinion.How are you supposed to inspire happiness and joy when the store itself treats their employees like this: I was one of the brides maids that went into The David's Bridal in Lewisville TX on Saturday March 10th. The dresses were great but the management was less than desirable. There was a manager up in the front by the name of Morgan who was being extremely rude, loud and very disrespectful to the african american female working up front. I understand you may have a problem with some employees but that was certainly not the way to handle it. As not only I but the other brides maids and other customers were appalled and really turned off to this location in specific. I tried to get the girls name but I could not. As soon as she walked in the door for her shift as it appeared she was just being yelled at before she said anything. I have tried to call the managers myself and talk to them over the phone but every time I call the managers seem to not be around. I would really like some feedback as to know what David's Bridal as a company will be doing about this because I am really inclined to write an article for all the local papers regarding my experience and how they treated their employees. Although Tamara W. was NOT my designated consultant, without her I would've walked out empty handed. Tamara was my initial contact - she took the photos of dresses I liked and LISTENED to my wants, needs and finances. The consultant I was assigned to merely walked me over to the 'destination dresses', then left me to shop for myself, but that was fine - I just expected a little more assistance. After trying on a handful of dresses that I didn't really like, Tamara took notice. She popped over and presented me with something she thought I'd like. She immediately informed me not to be turned off by the price, as it was on sale and she had absolutely respected my budget. What Tamara found me was THE dress!!! Had she not listened to my initial likes and reviewed my photos, I would've walked out of the shop either empty-handed or just picking something I wasn't crazy about. Tamara is FANTASTIC!!! She was considerate, helpful and truly interested in finding me something I loved. I'm so thankful she was working that day and paid attention to me ..... I would recommend her to anyone! read more

I was in a wedding last week that DB was the provider of the bride and bridesmaid dresses and I will be in another in October. The first wedding everything seemed like it was going smoothly. We came in for an appointment and we managed to pick out all our dresses in one sitting. They did tell us however that we needed to order right away or else we wouldn't get our dresses in time, making the bride freak a little. Her dress came in two weeks later with out a problem. Personaly there was no need for them to stress her out. I ordered my dress later than everyone else and I recieved it in plenty of time. When I got my dress I couldn't get the zipper to zip up when I tried it on, I just assumed I had gained some weight and I would need to watch what I eat. Then I realized I could't even get the zipper up with it was off me. After a couple of tries with help I finally took it back when my October bride was going to look at dresses. The manager told me that it was an invisable zipper and that this happens all the time with this dress! And that there was no need to replace the zipper I would just have to try harder to pull it up!! I shouldn't have to worry about the dress malfunctioning on the day of the wedding and if this happens all the time why are you still selling it!!! After the Oct. bride heard this she decided not to get the bridesmaid dresses at DB. Things got much worse when the same thing happened to another member of the party, this time the bride went up there and told them how it was and they gave the girl a new dress but it was completely different than everyone elses dress! When the wedding finally came around I had a horrible time zipping up the dress and was scared I wasn't going to be able to walk as a bridesmaid at all. It got even worse becuase while at the reception both of my straps on my dress broke!!!!! Luckly one of the girls had a sewing kit. Now when it comes to the Oct. Bride they told her at her sitting that they couldn't get the color light grey in briadsmaids dresses in time for her wedding 5 months away becuase it was a special edition. So she just got her wedding dress which they said wouldn't come in till Oct. 5 and it had to be altered by Oct. 15. So once again the bride was stressed. Her dress came in two weeks later!!!! Then we couldn't find any bridesmaid dresses that would range from a size 0 to 20 for her wedding party so we had to go back to DB. Thinking that she was going to have to change the colors becuase they told her weeks before that grey would not be an option... we are told this time that it would be no problem!!! The reason I gave 2 stars instead of none after all the trouble I have had, is that the sizes in bridesmaids is a nice range, and both of the Brides appointments where handled very well and both brides got exactly what they wanted and loved there dresses and DB didn't try to sell something out of eithers price range. As far as it goes with them, I will only deal with it again if I have 2 but I will def be shopping somewhere else for my wedding!!!!!! read more

I went to David's Bridal not expecting much (to be perfectly honest). From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by every consultant I came across and the staff was extremely sweet and enthusiastic. They took a lot of time to listen and find out what I was looking for. My consultant was April and she was AWESOME! She was really sweet and accommodating and seemed to know when I needed her and when I wanted a little space to discuss things with my mom and sisters. She bent over backwards to try to find something that worked for me and she definitely came up with a couple of contenders. My only complaint was their seamstress. April, in an above and beyond effort to help me, came up with an idea to try to get me the dress I envisioned in my head. The seamstress, thinking it was my idea, told me the idea wouldn't work and talked to me like I was an idiot. Like the reviewer below said, she was quite rude. I wouldn't recommend working with her but I would definitely give DB a shot. I had several appointments at more upscale boutiques and, though their selection isn't as high end, their customer service is. read more

I came in with my mother expecting her wedding dress shopping was going to be long and frustrating but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Carsen was such a great consultant! He was able to find a beautiful dress that included everything my mom wanted at such a great price. The rest of the staff was really great and helpful as well. This location is the newest and brightest, but the staff is the worst, I visited this location because it was closer to my house, but I wish I hadn't. I took my dress here after my bridals to get a simple spot clean, steam, and to get a few of the pieces on my dress tightened. They acted as if I was speaking a foreign language when I came in. No one really knew what they were doing as if I was asking for something weird. She asked me when I wanted to come back and get it and I said next week. We set an appointment, I paid the $40 fee, and I left. A couple of days later, a woman called saying the manager had looked at my dress and thought it was really dirty so they needed me to pay an additional $40. They wanted me to make a payment over the phone, but I told her I didn't feel comfortable and that I would like to pay the fee when I arrive on Wednesday for my appointment to pick it, She assured me that they would go ahead with the cleaning and take the payment then, Well, I got there on Wednesday and this lady came out saying my dress wasn't ready because they were waiting on my 2nd payment. I explained to her what the young lady told me but she said it was a miscommunication and that they thought I was coming in on Monday to make the payment. This was a lie and news to me because I never said Monday and my appointment was for that Wednesday, I asked her if I hadn't shown up on Monday like they thought I was, why wasn't I called to see what happened, Why did you not contact me before my appointment so that I wouldn't waste my time, She told me that I could come any time on that Friday to pick it up and she would pay extra attention to my dress and it would be beautiful. I can give anyone a 2nd chance, right? Wrong. I showed up on Friday. They brought it out and I opened the bad and the first thing i saw was one of my tiers hanging off so nothing was reattached or sewn on and it was dirty as hell. I lost all composure at this point, plus my two veils were missing in action. I demanded a refund and for them to find my veils. They did so after about 30 minutes. The incompetent manager wanted me to leave the dress with them once again and I gladly told her HELL NO. I went back to my favorite location in Hurst and was treated with the best customer service ever and I just got my dress back and its in perfect condition. It looks brand new. Don't go to Lewisville, you will be sorry. Don't let the new store fool you, Hurst is by far the best and the staff knows what they are doing. read more
