My daughter was beyond stressed out because her first dress was way too big and the company that we bought it from was online. These ladies kept coming over to help her and see if we needed anything. My daughter is getting married this upcoming July so I've been panicking to find my gown(s). Reno is not known for having a lot of good shopping especially for bridal needs. I thought I would go over here and see what they had. The salesgirls were all lovely and so helpful getting me set-up in a dressing room. The dressing rooms were very large but no mirrors so you are forced to go outside the room to look at the gowns...I mean this is fine but I was alone and a bit shy. The other customers were all so nice and friendly and offered to take photos of me to my daughter as we were FaceTime ing during my visit, I must get bride approval for all 3 of my outfits. We have a family dinner Thursday night, then then welcoming party Friday evening and finally the big wedding day on Saturday. The prices here are incredibly reasonable and I liked every single dress I tried on! How often does that happen ladies?? Never for me that's for sure. Both dresses I ended up buying we're on sale...whoo hoo! The price for both was like $130... Unbelievable! The return policy was one week because my daughter thought that the one for the wedding was not dressy enough. The wedding is at a 5 star place and both Friday and Saturday are both black tie. This was a Friday afternoon that I purchased them so I had one week to see if I could find anything that was better suited for me. The store itself was very organized and very clean dressing rooms. I had the alterations appointment when I picked up the dress, so I had not seen it prior. I was disappointed that my bridesmaids dress had a stain on the front of the dress at my calf. It is the size of a softball and looked like some kind or oil. I was told I could get it dry cleaned. At that time I was not offered any options. I went back up to the front and explained to the front person my predicament. I did not have time to reorder as the wedding is Nov 1st. She offered me a $40.00 discount so I could get the dress dry cleaned. I have no idea if it can be cleaned. She also gave me 10% off of the $225.00 alterations. I think if the dress was damaged, your Company should include the dry cleaning immediately. The alterations clerk was fine, but I paid $200 for the dress and an additional $165.00 for alterations (after the discount) and I have to get the garment cleaned (If it can be cleaned) I feel that I am paying over $400.00 for a dress that was damaged before I received it, and have no idea if it is even going to be wearable for my friends wedding. I am very dissatisfied with the damaged dress that I had paid for. I had to accept it as is due to the time restraints. It seems to me your Company should have a better process on damaged garments and do everything to right the wrong for the customer. This is my first time going to David's Bridal. I called to see if I needed an appointment to shop for a dress for a holiday party. The lady who answered the phone was so sweet and got me right in without one. As soon as I came in I was immediately greeted and shown around the store. After choosing a couple dresses to try on I explained to Katie who was the young lady helping me out, what I was looking for she brought me many different styles to try. She got me out of my comfort zone and I purchased a beautiful green dress. I was surprised by the price as well. I came to this location on two occasions and had wonderful experiences both times. There are more options now than ever in Reno for wedding dress shopping and while David's Bridal is a no frills place - it also means you can get a good deal. All of their dresses are $2,000 or less for bridal and they have a ton of beautiful options for even half of that! The bridal appointment is an hour and a half it seems - not two hours but you can come back as needed, you can pull dresses early online, and you can take pictures of you in the dress. Like I mentioned I came here twice and had fantastic consultants both times - Jill and Jackie. Jill was my number one cheerleader when I tried on dresses the first time which was fantastic. Jackie KNEW HER STUFF. She knew the options for the dresses, she helped me get the dresses on and off quickly so much so that I tried on at least 10 dresses during my appointment time. She was fun and was so helpful in my decision making. Ohhhh David's bridal. I am getting married and went to DB to try on dresses for the first time. I made an appointment, got their 10 minutes before my appointment, but wasn't helped until 20 minutes after my appointment time. It was pretty annoying considering I had another appointment the same day at another bridal shop, so I had to rush. They gave us a fitting room right by the back door/ BATHROOM so every 5 minutes we had someone literally walking by in between me and my friends/family to use the bathroom. Why would they put a fitting room there??? I would get in front of the mirror, my friends would help with the train and then someone would walk by "oh sorry sorry" and force me out of the way. It was terrible! It was my first time ever trying dresses on and it was so annoying to not even comfortably check myself in the mirror. Due to "covid" our employee said they could not come into the dressing room with me. Yet no employees are wearing masks and I even saw two employees sharing a drink. I ended up not finding a dress so I left pretty disappointed overall with my experience. I ended up finding a dress I thought I might like online so I decided to give DB another chance to try it on. I called and my convo went like this... Me: "hello, I was wondering if..." Employee: "CAN I MAKE YOU AN APPOINTMENT??" Me(unsure if they even had the dress in store):"no, thank you! I was just wondering if you have XX dress in store available to try on" Employee:"yes we do but since it's a wedding you can't try on without an apt" Me:"I'm sorry I just wanted to make sure you had the dress, can I just come now?" Employee:"well you need to call ahead for an apt but let me see.... Hm okay yeah I think we could squeeze you in now for an apt" Tone totally came off as rude like I was annoying that I made an apt same day. So, I went in expecting it to be busy since he made me feel bad about coming in. I show up and I'm not kidding you, there is not a single other customer in the store. Not one customer. And like 6 employees standing around hanging out. I walked in and didn't even get greeted until I said "hi I have an apt right now?" I had the most amazing time during my appointment with Riley on 11/11. She was very helpful and fun and she also helped me stay firm on my decision for my dress and not going with a veil when I had some family pressuring me to do otherwise. I was pleasantly surprised at how many beautiful dresses they had available within my budget which was $2000. I'm very short and petite (4'11) and was worried it may be harder to get the right vision for my dress when trying them on but with the clips I was easily able to get the right vision for my big day. If I could give zero stars, I would. My wife made an appointment to get a dress for our daughter's wedding. Appointment was for 1:30 on Saturday, July 22, 2023. We live 4 hours from Reno so an appointment is important to us. My wife arrived and her "consultant" was ten-fifteen minutes late. My wife had already looked around while waiting and when the consultant finally arrived, she asked my wife if she had picked anything out or saw items she liked. My wife showed her two that she picked out, assigned her a dressing room and then went back to the front register. After that, the consultant stayed at the front register the entire hour that my wife was in the store. Additionally, all of the other employees were hanging out at the register not helping customers. When my wife would bring a dress up to the register to ask questions, all the consultant did was say that they didn't have it in the color my wife wanted. She never offered to look up other styles, color, or sizes. None of the other employees offered any help either. There was also a mother and daughter shopping for dresses and they got the same lack of customer service as well. We left after 1.5 hours of no help and no luck finding anything and went to Dillards. We saw the mother and daughter at Dillards and they were not happy about the lack of service from David's Bridal. No wonder they are going out of business. This is the absolute worst customer service we have ever experienced from a retail store. Why bother making an appointment to have someone help with a dress if they aren't going to help? We didn't get the consultant's name but she is a dark haired woman that was pregnant. All of the staff were lazy and chose to chit chat at the registers instead of helping customers. In a pinch, needed a dress for a gala in November. The dress I ordered online fit everywhere but the arms (still trying to figure that one out). Made a run to David's in hopes they had something a few hours before the event. Was greeted by kindness upon arrival. Provided an abridged version of events and what I was looking for and they pointed me in the right direction. 20 minutes and 4 dress try ons later, found THE dress. And with the sale it was less than half the cost of the dress I had originally purchased. I know it's a challenge deciding to purchase something local for an event as such but definitely recommend it, you never know what you might find in your search. read more

If I could give zero stars in this review, I would. My best friend purchased her wedding dress from DB, and it was fine experience, so I decided to go with DB for my dress hemming. First of all, they couldn't give me a quote on price unless I made an appointment. I made an appointment and went in. I waited a few minutes for the seamstress, who didn't say much to me at all. Gave me paper work to fill out, which was fine. She looked at my dress, and quoted me a price of almost $100. I did not ask for any other alteration, JUST A HEM! I asked for a breakdown of prices, and she didn't say much to me. Seamstress began to be very rude to me at this point. Also, you don't get any bridesmaid discount for alterations, even if your bride purchased her dress from DB. Go to a dry cleaners or any other local alteration. This place isn't worth it. read more

My stepson is getting married next month and my wife has been heavily involved in the planning. First let me say she attended an appointment at the David's Bridal in Keizer, Oregon in August and was pleased with the overall experience and felt taken care of throughout the process at that particular store. When she returned to Reno she made an appointment for herself to select a dress. The person who helped her was fairly helpful in determining what was available in the color/size/style she wanted and they placed an order for the dress. Approximately 2 weeks later she was notified via e-mail that her dress had arrived in the store. She knew she needed to try it on since they did not have the style/size in the store at the previous appointment. We arrived about noon on Sunday, September 13th and she went to the counter to let them know she needed to pickup and try on the dress. She was shown to a dressing room. Below are a few things we noticed during our visit: 1. No one offered to take the dress out of the bag in order for her to try it on (not a huge deal, it would have been nice but not necessary); 2. No one and I mean NO ONE came to check on how the dress fit, NO ONE offered to help look for shoes, NO ONE helped to determine if alterations were necessary (and there were plenty of employees in the store chatting, on their phones, etc. since it was not busy with customers). 3. Between the two of us we decided the dress fit well and did not require alterations. We also found a pair of shoes my wife was happy with and headed back to the front counter to pay for the shoes (the dress was previously paid for when the order was made). My wife proceeded to stand at the counter while an employee was helping a customer and a second employee was on her phone. We were unsure if she was helping the other employee since they were standing close together. Finally the employee who was helping the customer said to the other employee "someone needs help over there" and she assisted my wife with paying for the shoes. REALLY? Weddings are important events in people's lives and these employees at the Reno store need to be trained/re-trained to work with customers. Very disappointing experience! read more

Super overwhelmed the second I walked in since it was the first I ever walked into any bridal shop. I didn't have an appointment so I just made a lap around by myself to see what they had. There were wayyyy too many dresses that all just started to look like huge mushes of cotton candy floof... so I left. A week or so later I decided to make an appointment to actually try something on because I still had noooo idea what I wanted. The lady helping me was very patient, but without a traditional bridal party, it felt a bit awkward. I would like to say Thankyou to Aubrey who helped me try on wedding dresses on Saturday. She had asked me what kind of style I was looking for, gave me three clothes to clip on while me and my bridesmaid look. She also went back to choose a few dresses she thought I might like which I thought was very sweet of her. She said to be honest with her and she actually did a wonderful job of finding some for me but they weren't the ones that I fell in love with, although it helped me understand better of what styles I'm really looking for. I did find my bridesmaid dresses here and I will be coming back to look for my sash and veil because their options, mostly the prices here are affordable. I also want to add that I purchased my tiara here a few months ago, again, it was affordable and elegant looking. If you plan on having an appointment here, ask for Aubrey. Updated review, since I ended up buying my wedding dress here! Okay, okay, from davidsbridal.com, and from not this specific brick and mortar store. I realized through my four attempts at trying on dresses in stores that I was just not going to find in stock in a regular store the perfect dress for me. For better or worse, the styles that most brides want and thus the styles it makes sense for a business to have in inventory are not at all what I want for myself. Praise be to the internet, which makes possible economies of scale and the quick and easy shipment of idiosyncratic goods to idiosyncratic people! I had a very positive experience at David's Bridal when I first tried on dresses, so when I determined that my perfect dress needed a sash, I wanted to stop by. I had thought, whatever I like in person, I'm sure I can find less expensively on etsy. David's Bridal proved me wrong: I found a great sash to give my dress some extra bling, and it was totally on sale (regular price $60, sale price $30). And the service I received while trying on sashes, shoes, veils, and headpieces was impeccable. Thanks, Ashley! Because buying a dress online does eliminate both the annoyance of having to make a decision in front of salespeople and the fun of having salespeople congratulate you and celebrate you on your choice, I really appreciated Ashley's enthusiasm for helping me find the right accessories in the store. So yes: David's Bridal remains a fabulous option for brides who wish to spend their cash monay elsewhere. My dress cost me a delightful $245 (before the sash). But you knew about the inexpensiveness of David's Bridal before reading this review. But what I didn't know until this experience was that it is possible to find a unique wedding dress at this big chain store, too! And one that I didn't even have to alter! I had ordered two bridesmaid dresses at the same time from this store. At the time of trying the dresses on we were told it would cost around $20-35 to get the dresses hemmed. Having that knowledge we picked out some more expensive dresses considering it wasn't too pricey to get hemmed. When they finally arrived, both the dresses were the wrong size. Had to return and get the right sizes. Finally was able to get in for alterations and it came out to $75 for each dress. (I was also told I'd have to pay a rush fee if the dresses didn't get here in time even though they made the mistake of ordering the wrong sizes.) I let the manager know that we were quoted $20-35 per dress to get hemmed and she could care less. (Unless you are over 6' you will have to get their dresses hemmed.) Through all of these mistakes and mishaps, not one person at David's Bridal seemed to care. This is just a chain store that only cares about how much money they can get out you. Please consider going to a local store. In the long run you will probably end up spending the same after all of their fees, outstanding alteration charges, and "mistakes" that you end up having to pay for. SHOP LOCAL! read more

Did not have a good experience at this store! I went in on a weekday mid morning to look for a dress to wear to my daughter's wedding. I had just been to the Arden location in Sacramento which was amazing. The Reno location not so much. When I walked in, I was amazed at how run down the store was. The carpet is faded and torn all over the store. The woman that greeted me acted like I was bothering her and this is with no other customer's in the store. She gave me a vague wave in the direction of the dresses. After 15 minutes or so, she came over and put the dresses I had selected in a fitting room. Once I was in trying them on, there was no checking back to see if I needed any help or another size. Terrible service! The lighting in the store is just awful and they have a very limited selection. Don't waste your time. Just order online and save some time. read more

I heard some controversial reviews from peers about this David's Bridal. When I came in I checked in my appointment and was quickly helped by another staff member. I think her name was Jessica, I will have to double check. But I showed her the dress that I needed (I am a bridesmaid) and she was able to show me a few different sizes and helped recommend which one looked best. She was very nice, patient and helpful. Unfortunately, they did not have my color in the size I needed but she was able to help me order the dress and give me a estimated delivery date. Came in to find a dress for my daughters Quinceñera. Our stylist was amazing and the alterations specialist answered all my questions.

Honestly I am super disappointed with my dress. I took it in for alterations (two weeks before the wedding as instructed due to pregnancy) to get the stomach area taken out a bit so the dress didn't bunch in the front and to get straps added. The women who took me back did not understand English very well nor did she attempt to get someone who could communicate with me or even translate so we could work together effectively. The straps were put right in the front middle of each of my boobs exposing my little armpit fat rather than my boobs..., at the first appointment I told her to strap it in further down and she agreed, but did not do that. The stomach area was not taken out instead a corset was added in, which snapped today on one side at try on without any action being taken against was told it's fine just tie the straps and you don't even notice. My dress still bunches in the front and I paid more for these alterations than I paid for the dress and now I don't feel confident at all. The manager did a great job at the first appointment helping me with the cost, as I was quoted something way less than what the alterations department was trying to charge me, before even making the changes to the dress. I would not recommend the alterations department to anyone. read more

And I'm that person who cant make a decision to save my life, so in a countless effort to find a dress I walked into David's Bridal a few times during the evening with out and appointment to see what they had to offer. The staff greeted me, but didn't seem to eager to help me out but they did. They have beautiful dresses for pretty good prices. I also tried on many other dresses from other local dress shops, I even went to Sacramento and tried on dress, I just wanted what was going to look best on my body, regardless of price and customer service. I will say the smaller boutiques in the area gave me an amazing bridal experience, but the dress that looked the best was at David's, so that where I bought my dress. I made an appointment so my mom and grammie could come with me, and help me decide on the DRESS. When we got there, we were greeted with a friendly smile and we looked around. My consultant was busy with another bride, so the store manger came over, I cant remember her name and gave us some help, thank goodness, because I was getting a little annoyed that no one was there to zip me up...come on, I'm giving you hundreds of my hard earned dollars, you can at least zip up my dress. Wow! Wow! Wow! There are no man chairs in David's Bridal! I mean, I get it that the groom isn't going to be there with the bride-to-be when she's shopping for dresses, but what about Dad? He could be! What about those poor hapless gents who end up there with their significant other while out running errands? Where are they supposed to go? Unbelievable! A few chairs off to the side is all we ask! Every major department store gets it and puts them just outside the fitting rooms! I showed up with Ashley to wait for her to try on and order a bridesmaids dress for a friends wedding. I politely asked where the man chairs were and I was told...WE DON'T HAVE ANY! My jaw hit the floor. I was told to sit at the computer desk at the front of the store to wait. Ugh! As if that wasn't enough, the entire dress process took far too long. It started ok when an associate walked over to us and got Ashley looking in the right area for this dress. Then, as if magic, she disappeared never to be seen again! At the time of our visit there were 3-4 brides trying on the real deal, and apparently that required about every employee in the building to help.
