TL;DR-SHOP HERE! To set the scene: It was my sister from another mister's birthday. It was 100+ degrees outside. I was mildly carsick, we were sticky from the heat, and had no plan for the day. Mom suggested we stop by this place...I'd never heard of it, but WE LOVE SHOES so of course the answer was yes...especially when told we would find styles and fits there we would be hard pressed to find in any other brick and mortar around the scablands of SE Washington. We walked in and I was AWESTRUCK by the old vintage styles lined up on the top, left-most wall. While disappointed they weren't for sale at the time, I spent a good amount of time fawning over them before blowing pass the standard inventory and moving onto the clearance section. NOTE: I am 100% guilty of buying crappy, flat, unsupportive shoes because they are cheap. I am a miser by nature in all the wrong ways. Those same shoes I waste money on, I end up only wearing them once or twice because I hate how they feel, and had given up on finding beautiful shoes that were also comfy...the shoe-nicorn, if you will. After perusing the clearance section and finding a couple of cute pairs, I ventured into the wild, untamed land of *gasp* the standard priced shoes. I was rendered speechless. Beautiful riding boots? With wool lining? THAT ALSO FIT MY BIRD-CALVES?? YES PLEASE! My elation was soon followed by despairing over the pricetag. Multicolored Reikers that felt as though I was walking on air!? They immediately made me feel like a better, more well-rounded version of my self...again the pricetag. About this time, the owner noticed me flitting from display to display with stacks of shoes in my hands, trying to figure out which ones I needed vs. which ones I NEEDED...all while my sister looked on from the birkenstock display with a look of amusement painted on her face while chatting up an old wise-acre trying on his own set of magical footmitts about how ridiculous I was...and she wasn't wrong. The owner sat me down with my spread and measured my feet...something that hadn't been done since I was knee high to a tall grasshopper. We discovered I was a 39 and she set about helping me pick out a handful of shoes and boots I was enthusiastic to try on. After getting the size and back-room order from my cohort, she flitted off while I gushed about this store and chatted with the same wise-acre who had transformed into an elderly gentleman who's poise and grace was unmatched now that he had been fitted with his snazzy new pair of kicks. The owner returns... Now came the fun and most emotionally compromising part...the fitting. I Tried on two pairs of Reikers (pumps and boots). The owner laughed and looked quite pleased as she watched my soul being reborn in that moment and I learned a valuable life lesson which I will attempt to articulate now...you cannot put a price on good footwear. As comfortable as those Reiker boots were, the owner told me "hold on just a sec...I think I have a boot for you that would be an even better fit" and she disappeared into the back once more. I eagerly awaited her return and was so pleased once she did. I was presented with the most comfortable Spring Step boots I could have ever hoped to find. Waterproof, temperature regulating, and SNAZZY! I entered that store not intending to purchase anything at full price and left with two pairs of fancy new kicks (between the three of us we left with five pairs). I have never in my life had better customer service or been more pleased/amazed with the quality of merchandise I was presented with. I have gotten so much use out of those two pairs of shoes since August and I can promise I will be back for more! read more

Sad to see another store closing. Drove by today and saw a for lease sign in the windows. Use to like finding new summer shoes/sandles.

I recently made my first visit to David's while trying to help my aging mother with foot problems find a comfortable, supportive, and attractive shoe. The store is locally owned and run by a wonderful woman and carries a nice variety of shoes. Because she works on her own and the store was busy, we had to wait a while for our turn, but it was well-worth the wait! The owner spent plenty of time listening to mom's shoe challenges, making suggestions, trying multiple pairs of shoes on, and putting specialty inserts in and out until they found just the right fit. We went home happily with two new pair of shoes! We'll return again and highly recommend David's! read more

Wish the person had more knowledge about shoes St least I new what I needed. I did find some shoes that are comfortable.

Boy, you can really tell the shop has new owners. We received no greeting as we entered (we were the only two in the store). The owner continued to do paperwork and made a couple of phone calls. After each of us carried around a couple of shoes (which is usually a hint that we want to try them on), we had to approach the owner and ASK if we could try them. She was basically an order taker. Didn't ask how they fit, how they felt, didn't offer any alternative if she didn't have our size. She took absolutely no opportunity to engage in conversation. David's has been my go-to store for years. I have never left the store without at least one pair of shoes, and sometimes three or four, until today. I left with no shoes and a sadness that I need to find a new shoe store. read more

Awful service!!! I walked in the store with three of my friends, all with the intentions of buying a pair of shoes. Initially, we were not offered assistance for much too long considering that staff was only visiting with two customers that she had finished helping. When she did come help us, she was not amused with the fact that I wanted to try on the narrow birkenstock size 8 styles that she carried, which were 3 or 4 pair. She brought me 1 pair and left to help a new customer... never excusing herself or bothering to come back to help. After at least 20 minutes in store because of full intentions to buy, we gave up and left...but not before telling her of our intentions of buying and her bad service. She told us that she didnt want us trashing her store with the shoes I wanted to try on...which I never dreamed of doing!!! (I do not find it unreasonable to try on 3 or four pair of shoes when buying and paying a 100 Plus dollars!) Also she told us that I was never welcome back in her store. So, a message to the lady....i never did intend to come back, even before hearing those words. You never will see me nor two of the friends that were with me back in the store. It is not the first time that you have treated a customer as you treated us...refer to reviews on Facebook. Im sorry for things having to be this way! This was one of many stops around town today and I was never treated this way including at A1 shoes where they did not have my size. Five stars for the shoe styles and quality though so I am not really happy about never going back! read more

This place is a small, great place to get shoes. The person working helped me get a perfect pair of sandals for my extremely high arched feet. She showed me the proper way to fit and adjusted them to a more custom fit. I will definitely be back in for more pairs of quality shoes! read more

I have been going to David's Shoes for the past 20+ years because they have quality shoes for people with narrow, wide and extra-wide feet. They carry the very comfortable SAS shoes, which I otherwise would need to travel to Yakima to purchase. Service can be somewhat slow at times in getting to each customer if a lot of people come in at once; however, they are a small store so do not have a large number of employees like a chainstore would have. I have had to wait far longer to get assistance in some of the chain stores. When I have been in a rush, I have told them and they have worked to accommodate me. I have always found their service to be very friendly and helpful--the reason customers have been coming back for years--and was very grateful to find this store! read more
