Great service and attention to detail. Hadn't been skiing for a while and decided to start again after going once last year and I rented the equipment. I knew I wanted my own equipment to ski comfortably and apparently it's changed a bit since I went in the 90's lol. Greg showed me several different boots, measured my foot, gave me pointers on picking ski's and the difference of each style, level of ability, width...which was really helpful. He spent at least 20 minutes after I picked the boots I wanted fitting them to my foot so they fit like a glove. Haven't decided whether I'll rent or buy ski's yet but I know I won't regret getting these boots and will be back when I figure out how often I'll be skiing. This store has been around for ages and I highly recommend getting your athletic gear from them. You won't find the great customer service that they provide at the online stores. read more

Sporthaus is the best! Bart, Steve, Greg and the whole team always have solid information and are there to help. It's always a plus shopping somewhere where people know their stuff and love what they do. My family has been going to Sporthaus for over 35 years and there is a reason for that. They have quality product, good service, and everything you need. If you have kids- check out the buy back program.. They are incredibly patient with even the most impatient customers (I've seen it). I saw a comment about someone being frustrated about the wait to get their board waxed... how about being stoked that it's SUCH a good snow year that the there is a wait? Also... they have a great selection of waxes, irons, and all that gear. Have a beer and wax your board if there's a wait. Only complaint I have is the staff in the shop specifically for snowboarding or skiing. They always need almost a week just to wax a board. It's ridiculou. Resorts the second you arrive get it done in 30 minutes tops. Every year I attempt to get a wax done by sporthaus and I'm told I can pick it up next week. insane read more

We occasionally, but not often rent from Sporthaus. This past weekend, my son rented equipment and then, couldn't make the trip up the mountain. Upon returning our gear, Sporthaus offered him a CREDIT to rent for a different weekend! My son is young, he didn't ask for it or expect it but they took good care of him and I appreciated it so much. This reminds me of the "good ol' days" -- it pays to support your local businesses. I bought my skis and bindings here and they were a legit pair of skis. The bindings were pretty speedy so they are quality. But you get what you pay for so that makes sense. I got a coat here too but the quality of that doesn't really reflect the store. It was money anyway. I got my poles helmet and goggles here too. They are all quality as well. If your looking for ski stuff this is the spot. For the people who give this place a bad rap, that is because they were buy stuff out of season and they don't do that. Sporthaus is part of a locally owned duet of summer/winter sport stores. They specialize in the middle/upper end of the product spectrum in both seasons and offer exceptional customer service both in terms of friendly people and knowledge. The staff recognizes us and always makes a point to say hi. We are avid snowboard/skiers (25 or so days/year) and are frequent visitors to Sporthaus. They offer the best tuning service in town and always take very good care of my boards and skis. They will custom tune your setup as you require and are very meticulous when it comes to mounting. I trust nobody else to do the maintenance and mounting. The winter gear selection is pretty good - especially on boots. They really excel in the fitting and selection of equipment to suit your needs. I have purchased several pair of boots there and have always been satisfied. They offer a trade-in program where they will buy back kids gear you bought from them for 1/2 what you paid, which is a very helpful feature when it comes to kids and how fast they grow. It is also a good place to get some quality kids stuff on the cheap. They have a wall of helmets, acres of goggles, and dozens of different gloves to choose from. Every accessory you could want is there and they compliment all of that with an exceptional Yakima rack section. Clothes are also middle/high-end - lots of Spyder, Mountain Hardware, etc. Great selection for the whole family and lots of sizes. Pricing is very competitive. They generally carry mid-level and up, so if you are looking for the absolute lowest price on "skis" - they may not be it. The value comes from the service and knowledge. They do offer a great progressive sale at the end of the season. The selection has been expanded as well. if you are reading my reviews - the consistent theme is value. My latest round of purchases were all competitive with the internet - some higher, some lower - and the total value was exceptional especially with the level of service and support. If you live in the area and are an 'enthusiast', or at least have the budget of an enthusiast, then this is your place. Nobody else comes close to the quality, service, and expertise and will always be our first stop when we need gear. read more

I have been going to Sporthaus for over 30 years as this was where my grandparents got my skis when I was learning to ski. Eveytime I go in I feel welcomed and like I'm getting the best service possible from people well educated in the equipment they sell. Always helpful and friendly the staff here is ready to go above and beyond my expectations. They have been awesome with my kids and when the kids tell me they need new boots the boot fitter at Sporthaus makes sure to have the kids test out the current equipment just so they make sure we aren't purchasing something we don't need. This really makes me feel like the care about our family and are not just in it as a job. They have a great selection of products for winter and summer sport as well as good rental programs. The service I did receive was good and they stock a lot of great products. Love the fact we have a local business in this industry. My two complaints as to why I have 3 stars: Their text service that is supposed to message your phone when a service has been finished has/is not working correctly, per a store employee. Consequently my skis sat in the store, finished for over a week. I suppose I should have checked on them on my own, but I figured their system was reliable enough plus it's peak ski season. Their phone system infrastructure is very poor. Granted it's a busy time of year, but calling numerous times for hours and receiving a busy tone as if it was a personal residence is a joke. A customer should have the ability to be placed on hold or at least leave a message-none of which were options. A proper phone system upgrade that integrates business features as such is highly needed. Edit/Update: I wanted to update my review after a reply from the owner. He assured me both concerns were known and being addressed. To me a owner that shows legitimate concern from a customer, then takes the time to follow up goes a long way in the age of poor customer service! read more

For winter sports, this is the only place to go in Tri Cities. They have a good selection of equipment to buy. I don't think their rentals are very good at all. I have rented skis from them several times, and every time something was broken. I've had broken poles, and broken boots. I'm not the only person I know who has had this kind of experience with them. Based on my experience renting, I would be hesitant to buy ski gear from this place. I would suggest shopping here for ski clothing and accessories, but not your ski setup itself. read more

Right now, I give Sporthaus zero stars. That being based on the attitude of the employees every time I have ever walked in the door. Tonight was the icing on the cake. I asked if they still carried Smith Sunglasses, as they are a listed dealer, and I even bought some there in the past, because they were the only retailers in the area that had them. I went in this evening to purchase a new pair. After searching and not finding any, i asked the young gal (Giovani i think) about Smith's. She stated that they were all in back, and not out due to not enough space, and to come back in a few months. I asked if they had either of the two models I was searching for, and was given a "are you serious" look. She walked into the back room, immediately turned around, and again stated that I would have to come back when they are out. I'm sorry... but to flat refuse to even attempt to help a customer find something that you have? I was seriously considering buying new ski boots from them, but not now. I'd rather fly back home and get treated like a friend from ski shops I dealt with during 18 years as a ski instructor, and fishing guide. read more

Sporthaus is awesome! You can't find a better sporting goods shop in the area! It's been locally owned forever. They have a staff of very knowlegeable experts...extremely friendly and will always answer any questions you have. They stand behind all of the products they sell. Everything is high quality, but still very affordable. They also provide exceptional service...whether it's tuning skis/snowboards, fitting boots, stringing tennis rackets, providing advice on stylish new duds, etc. They have a ton of products for sports (skiing, snowboarding, water sports, tennis, etc.) and everyday use (clothes, backpacks, car racks/boxes, etc.).
