On 4/1/2026 I had dropped off my 2024 Ford Ranger at Davidsons for some recall work. The truck arrived with grease/oil stains all over the headliner. I emailed them regarding the matter, they quickly scheduled me for a complimentary detail, to which they solely cleaned the headliner and it STILL is stained. This results in my vehicle losing value as the interior condition reflects that. No further attempt by Davidsons has been made to correct this issue to make me whole. read more

I bought a used car from Davidson Ford Watertown in early December 2024. Everything went smoothly. I thought. Today, 1/4/25 I received a letter from them regarding my credit. It states that my credit rating is 801 but is advising me that "we cannot extend vehicle financing to you at this time". It also list 5 totally inaccurate "adverse" factors. The funny part is, Davidson did indeed obtain bank financing for me with zero problems or refusals. At a better rate than my local bank, no less. Nothing like making a customer with excellent credit and a great history look like a bum a month after buying from them. I think Rome headquarters and the outlying stores ought to communicate with each other better. You can bet that this experience will absolutely stick in my memory the next time I'm vehicle shopping. Unfortunately Yelp doesn't allow for zero stars. I had communicated back and forth for two weeks on a vehicle and set up an appointment to have a test drive and evaluate my trade. Received two emails confirming the appointment. Arrived at the dealership to find the truck not there. . . It was at their other dealership. Then I was informed that they weren't going to allow qualified pricing on the vehicle and blamed it on the owner. But. . . They had a similar truck they would honor the discount on. I scheduled an appointment to look at a specific vehicle, the internet customer service rep Rob told me that the vehicle would be transported overnight to be ready to go at the scheduled time of 9:00 AM. I told him I'd be coming from an hour away. In the morning, I arrived and the truck was not transported. If I wanted to see it I'd have to drive another 45 minutes. Davidson Ford does not seem to value my time. When politely telling the sales rep that it wasn't his fault, but these are the impacts on me for not having the truck here, he didn't listen, rather was muttering uncomfortably. Value your customers' time or they simply will go elsewhere. Have empathy when they are expressing their disappointment. read more

SERVICE DEPARTMENT REVIEW: They don't actually check the tread depth for the tires, we know because we do and the numbers they wrote don't match. This matters because if they aren't checking something so insanely simple then what else are they not checking? The first time this happened we let them know so they could correct the issue in the future. After happening again, we can see that they likely just don't care. Okay. Another issue is us having to take the truck back numerous times for the exact same issues. It's my own opinion that this ford service department runs off of a general guessing game. We had to have the door serviced 4 times for the same problem before they finally decided to replace it. The last thing I want to say is that we don't appreciate picking up the truck to find a random, sticky and wet spot on the head rest. The service department personnel are fantastic. The writers are a young energetic group eager to help and serve. The reason for only two stars is the dealership's WiFi is non-operational. The service writers said that it has been like that for a long time. That is just plain unacceptable. Most people need to access the Internet while waiting, either for work or to simply pass the time. This should be fixed at this state of the art facility. They have a sign in the waiting room that says "Complimentary Internet." What a joke. read more

I would never shop at Davidson Ford again. We (thought) purchased a Ford Edge from Davidson's on a Saturday. We gave them a $1,000 deposit and were told the vehicle would arrive (from another dealership) on Tuesday. I called my bank and received the full payment in the form of a check to me and Davidson Ford. By Thursday we had not heard a word. We called and were told they could not get the vehicle and were hunting for a replacement. After trying to sell us a more expensive model and not trying to negotiate a fair price we cancelled the entire transaction. There was no apology from the dealership. I advise military personnel to stay away from any Davidson dealership. I traded in a 2015 Ford Focus for a 2018 Chevy Silverado and got nothing but negativity from the sales representatives to the general manager. The general manager made fun of us because we're a gay couple, also told some of the maintenance personnel working that we wouldn't be able to afford a vehicle and other negative things. I called to get my 2013 F150 in for transmission repair on 3/21/2022. The service technician asked what year and mileage was on the truck (150,000+) and then put me on hold. She got back on and claimed they don't work on vehicles with the mileage on my truck. I asked why and she said it's just their policy! She advised me that other Ford dealerships would work on it and both Adam's and Carthage have dealerships. What a crock! The service department is far from good. I sent my truck in to get the drive shaft looked at because of a recall, I was told I needed a new drive shaft and that one would be ordered and I would be notified when the drive shaft came in. After some time of waiting for a drive shaft I decided to call the dealership to see where the drive shaft was, they informed me I had to drive back up to the dealership to get pictures of the damaged drive shaft for Ford. I finally received a call saying the drive shaft was in and ready to be installed, when I got to the appointment, I was told they were unable to put the drives shaft in because the wrong one was ordered. Last October, the button on my tailgate broke so I sent my truck back to Davidson in Watertown to get it fixed, I was told there was a corroded wire and and it was replaced and fixed. When I picked my truck up the next day the button on the tailgate didn't work, the key fob button didn't work for the tailgate, nor did the button inside the truck work. I pretty much went backwards in the whole process and was never refunded. From October-May my truck went back and forth to Davidson trying to get the tailgate fixed. I was told my damaged tailgate was the reason why the tailgate was not opening, so I spent around $2000 for a new tailgate and had it put on the truck and it still didn't fix the issue. Then I was told the actuator was bad and needed to be replaced. They told me they would call me in 4-5 days when the part came in. After a few weeks of waiting for the call I called Davidson and asked what was going on and they said they already put the actuator in and it was working (which is a lie because it was not working and the new actuator was not put in). I was told by my advisor and the service manager that I would "receive a call back" after they looked into the issue, but I never once got a call back. I finally determined enough was enough and brought Ford into it and then Davidson started calling me back and wanting to get my truck in to get it fixed. After 8 months of going back and forth with them, my tailgate was finally fixed and the cause was another bad wire in the wiring harness. read more

Called Davidson Ford Sat. to schedule for a oil change. The lady said they have a opening Monday at 7:30am. I'm like that sounds great!! I show up at 7:30am they take my truck and I go sit down and wait and wait and wait. Hour and half into it I ask one of the service guys to go check on my truck. He comes back and says they are putting oil in it right now. Sooo, another half hour goes by and I go back and talk to the guy that took my truck in initially and I said I need to go and he said they are putting oil in it right now. First off if they tell you that you have a appointment at 7:30am that means 7:30am not 8am when the technicians get to work. Also, after me bitching for a half hour the service manager said that I was scheduled for a drop off and not a wait in the computer. I was never asked by the lady that I scheduled my (7:30am APPOINTMENT) WITH IF I WANTED TO WAIT OR DROP OFF!!!!!!! Big difference. So 2 1/2 hours later I finally got my truck back. Just purchased a 2021 Ford Bronco, salesman was very helpful, promised me a 1.9% interest rate when I received my loan paperwork it has me at a 4.79%. Called them and told me they do not know how it happened. They knew that I would not have bought the new car with that interest rate, so they lied. Tried to get my trade back and they said it is too late, Sorry. Part my fault for not reading the contract with a fine-tooth comb, but I am not a lawyer. My wife and I bought our 2018 Ford Explorer from Davidson Ford of Watertown, NY in September of 2018. I am currently active duty military, and was at that time stationed at Fort Drum. I had just recently (within the week) been relocated. I have had three issues with this dealership: Note: There is not enough room to repost my BBB complaint here. Issue One: Deceitful sales practices and failure to disclose prices of cars. Attempted to charge me $6,000 more on a car that what it was worth. Was told they could not find the car in their system, then my wife and I found it online. Issue Two: A mechanic tried to unethically make me replace items on the car that were NOT needed to be replaced. Turned into them doing me a favor that I was grateful for. This favor turned into a $0 quality job and their good faith was therefore void completely. Issue Three: Was quoted a certain price on a tow hitch installation job and at 2 hours of labor. Turned into over $100 more with complete disregard to my original quote. They tried charging me 5 hours of labor. Upon picking up the car the service woman, Chandler, and I got into an argument since they were not treating me right and trying to take me for blind and stupid. She slammed her pen on the counter saying "its always something with you" and walked away. I have never met this woman until that conversation. She tried refusing to call the service manager and tried keeping my car over night 2 days before my relocation with the military. A mechanic, Chris, came out cursing at me "what the fuck is going on, what the fuck is the problem" and then proceeded to confronting me about the tire situation which at the time was irrelevant and not of my causing anyways. Issue Four now: Have requested to speak with the GM to issue a formal complaint. I wanted assurances there would be internal repercussions for this unfathomable and poor display of customer service (paired with deceitful practices). I wanted to make sure they could never treat another customer the way they have treated me. The GM Eric Davidson has not called me back after 8 days and Brian has made himself the "middle man." I doubt he contacted the GM. I have issued complaints with BBB and will be contacting Ford Motor Sport (Corporate) tomorrow. I have posted a review on their facebook page as well. From my experience the service department seems great, but everything else is garbage. Definitely the worst buying experience I've ever had with anything I have ever owned. It started out ok but once I was in the process of actually purchasing the vehicle it all went downhill. I had to ask for every piece of information about my purchase, they basically just slid the paperwork over and said sign where highlighted. And then the company they outsource the registration process to is trash also, had my vehicle over a month and the temporary registration is about to expire and nothing could be done, I had to call my states dmv myself and easily got it taken care of. Was great service when I came had help on where to go. Upon entering I was greeted showed where to go to wait, and offered free wifi coffee or water. As well as offered to watch tv or go on computer for wait. They also have a waiting area for kids to play which is a big help lol. On Friday 29 December 2017 my Ford F250 Diesel was showing some warnings about low fuel pressure and decreased engine output. Upon completing some research we discovered that the fuel in out vehicle had become gelled and needed to be brought into a repair shop for a fuel filter change. We called two Ford dealers that service our local area. Davidson Ford informed us that they could get to it that day. The car was towed through Ford roadside assistance to Davidson Ford. Upon speaking with Rory one of the customer service representatives at the service department we were informed that the vehicle would not be looked at until Tuesday 2 Jan 2018. We were however informed that the vehicle would be brought into the heated garage over the weekend. Being concerned vehicle owners we drove to the dealership on Monday 1 Jan 2018 to find that the vehicle had been left outside all weekend long. We called on Monday morning at 0836 (we have a recording for our records) to inquire about the vehicle. They stated that they had not done a diagnostic on the vehicle yet. I specifically asked about whether the vehicle had been brought inside and they stated that it had not as they did not have room for it. When we stopped by the dealership we took images of vehicle outside as well as the room available within the heated garage. The service representative Rory called back at 0916 asking when we had been by on Saturday to check on the vehicle because he discussed the issue with his service manager who stated that he had been in on Saturday to check on things and move things around to make sure that all the diesels were inside and that my diesel had been inside since then. I responded with "that s interesting because we were not there on Saturday but Sunday (I had spoken in error it had actually been Monday) and taken pictures of the vehicle still outside as well as the room that was available in the garage. Around 1130 I called to get an update on the vehicle and spoke with David another service representative that stated he had been put on the case to specifically handle our truck. He assured me that the truck had been moved inside and although they had the parts they were unable to work on the vehicle because it was too frozen. (We have a six minute recording of the conversation) I specifically inquired as to whether the vehicle was in the garage at that time and he stated that it had been moved outside again. I inquired as to why it was outside again if the issue was cold weather and they need the vehicle to warm up. He stated that he would personally make sure that the vehicle was moved inside and would remain inside until it was picked up. At approximately 1330 I dropped by Davidson Ford to ensure that the vehicle was inside. It was inside at that time and the hood was open but there was no one working on the vehicle. Three service members asked how they could help and I stated that I was checking on my vehicle to ensure they were doing what they had stated they would do. Nothing was stated at that time so I walked over to the dealership and asked to speak with an owner. The receptionist got up and went into the back room inquiring where they were. She stated that all the owners were in Rome, NY for a meeting today and she did not know when they would return. They repeatedly asked for my name so that someone could contact me and offered for me to speak with the service manager. I stated that I was very irritated with the organization and I did not want to deal with anyone but an owner. They stated that they could just go back to service and find out what vehicle I owned and my name to get contact info. I stated that I was not interested in speaking to anyone but an owner in relation to my issues and that I would speak with someone upon picking up my vehicle. At approximately 1628 I received a call from David stating that my vehicle was starting now and I could pick it up if I wanted. I stated that I was unable to pick it up as my husband was flying and I did not have a ride to get the vehicle as well as my children were home from school and it was inconvenient at this time. He stated that he understood and that the vehicle would remain in the shop over night. He also stated that he would wash it for free it I would like as well as he had reduced the price from $491 (original quote) to $384 for the inconvenience he had placed on our family. I thanked him for doing that as well as washing the car and informed him that I would be there in the morning to get the vehicle. read more

They offer shuttle service if needed, but service is usually quick with minimal wait. They have never tried to oversell me on services my truck didn't need. Brought my 2017 F250 in with a complaint of getting an occasional whiff of diesel exhaust in the cab. I needed the truck back ASAP but apparently your needs don't matter. My truck wasn't checked in until a day after I dropped it off. Was told every time I called that it'll be done soon. I had to get something out of my truck at one point and the next day when I came back my truck was parked in the same spot. After talking to the service writer, I was told that they hadn't even looked at my truck yet for an exhaust leak. So, a week of my time was wasted and my truck still wasn't fixed. I don't recommend bringing anything to them for service work and I definitely will not be back to Davidson's whether it's for a new vehicle or for service work. read more

I took my Fusion in because I was having trouble with the driver's side low-beam headlight. They charged me $99 to troubleshoot the problem and said the light was upside down. I paid and left thinking at least I wouldn't have to worry. Two days later the headlight was out. I took it back and they said they couldn't find a problem. I left feeling silly. The next day the headlight was out again. I called and they couldn't look at it for three days. I took the car back tonight. One of the mechanics opened the hood and said the connector was broken. They didn't charge labor but I did pay $72 for parts. I am sure that the connector and wiring kit were not broken the first time I took it in. This was the worst experience I have ever had with Ford and I will definitely not ever go back to them. read more

So I have come to realize after many visits to this dealership that they have the worst service and parts department I have ever been to. I had some issues with this dealership before and they would call me and talk to me and ask me to change my review and after the conversation I would but not anymore. The month of November 2016 I had my truck fixed the left rear door sensor. February 2017 same problem but this time they said it was the wiring instead of the sensor. So my question is why we're they both not fixed. They tried to tell me in four months my wiring to my door sensor came apart not to mention my truck sat for a month while I was gone for military training. I have realized this dealership only wants to take every dime from you that they can. Needless to say this is my last visit to this dealership and I will make sure I express my opinion to all my Army buddies at Ft Drum. read more

I was enjoying my vacation when I heard a weird noise from the front wheel, drivers side. I was not a Watertown local (out-of-state), I did not purchase from this Ford dealer. I called DF, initially I was told to make an appointment for a week later, or told I could wait for 3 days, and then drop off and wait all day to see if they MIGHT get to it. I asked to talk to the service manager. I told him I was concerned with a) is my vehicle safe to drive, b) will it cause even more damage/trouble? The car was under warranty. I called at 1100 am. By 130 pm, my car was being looked at, by 3 pm the problem was discovered, resolved and I was driving away. At no charge! The only reason I could not give them 5 stars? They (service manager) had to be reminded that they can be nice people and take care of Ford customers. read more

Very unsatisfied and disappointed with Davidson Ford right now. My 2018 Ford Escape has been in and out of the service dept. because of my transmission. I'm not sure why in a 2 year old vehicle there is a problem with it. But i have been getting the run around since Aug 12, 2020 when it was originally seen. They had no loaner car and according to them they only have 1 and it was already out. When they finally decided to bring it in they told me it would be 2 weeks before it was done. 2 weeks went by still not done, get a call saying they have the parts and now its going to be another week and a half..waited the week and half..get a call saying 2 more weeks because the service guy is sick(they only have 1?). So i wait another week still not done. Finally got a loner car around Oct.20th. I call to see how its going..i got told probably another week. now i get a call today 12/17/2020 telling me i need to bring loaner car in to get an update on the rental lease and Tom is his name saying when i bring it in tomorrow it shouldn't be anymore than a week..i tried looking for the General Managers number but to no avail there isn't one. I can surely tell you right now that when i do get my vehicle back i will be trading it in and not getting another Ford or for that matter anything from a Davidsons Dealership. It's pretty shitty that i spend $400.00 a month on a payment to have the transmission go up in it..The service people told me that they have had a few of them go up in the cars...well how can you keep selling them...that's right the All Mighty Dollar prevails once again, they don't give a shit if a person works hard to earn money to have what i thought was a nice vehicle. If this continues with the runaround i will take this further on to the Better Business Bureau.....and i am not changing my review so don't bother calling and asking me to. Frank one of their salesmen had broken down every option they were offering me, he was very helpful. Frank had me in my 2014 F-150 in less than 36 hours. I worked with Jarrod Barker and he was great to work with. Right out of the gate I informed him that I was using a ford discount plan and I already had a pin to get the Ford discount. I have seen other dealers get almost weird about it, but Jarrod was very knowledgeable and understood what I was saying and was more than willing to help. I really went in with 2 different vehicles in mind and he was very helpful during the whole process. Even after I took the truck home, he came to my work to pick up the truck a few days later to have the bed liner put in. He brought it back shortly after and even ran it through the car wash before he brought it back. Overall I cannot speak for the entire company or other employees, but this buying experience was very good. People need to realize most dealers are the same, they want you to purchase from them, that is the bottom line. So far I am very impressed with the customer service that I have received and really hope it continues on any return visits that I make. read more
