Stopped by DaVinci's for a quick bite right before Thanksgiving and was impressed with the sandwich selection. I opted for the classic Philly cheesesteak with mayo. The wait time was about what you'd expect for a busy sandwich shop, so don't expect to get in and out super fast. While you wait, check out all the fun decor and murals around the shop. Once I got my sandwich back home, I found it to be kind of dry with too much meat (I know, what a problem to have, right?) and realized they hadn't put the mayo on. I salvaged it by just adding mayo from home and it was pretty good. I know other people rave about this spot, so I will definitely be trying it again and am hoping they just had an off day before the holiday.

If you find yourself anywhere near the Tulip Festival, make sure this spot is on your list…read more During our weekend of tulip sightseeing, Stella Sopra ended up stealing the show. We came for the flowers, but this little food truck parked at Tulip Valley Winery delivered the kind of meal that sticks with you. There's something magical about pairing genuine, well-crafted Italian food with a flight of local wines. Chef Alberto runs the whole operation himself cooking, serving, sharing stories, and making you feel like you've been invited to Sunday lunch at his family's table in Italy. His passion shows in every bite. I've had plenty of eggplant parm over the years, but this one? Best I've ever eaten. Served in a simple plastic container yet unforgettable perfectly balanced sauce pasta cooked just right, and eggplant that was tender and full of flavor. My husband ordered the chicken mushroom ravioli, and I was tempted to sample half of it. Big, pillowy pasta filled with rich, savory goodness an absolute win! We also split a Caesar salad (because veggie balance is important) and ended on a high note with tiramisu. It was airy, creamy, and just espresso kissed enough to keep you going back for another spoonful. We lingered on the patio glass of wine in hand, soaking up the scenery and wondering how a food truck in the middle of tulip country had turned into one of our favorite dining experiences in ages. The Stella Sopra truck travels between Bellingham and Mount Vernon. If you see it parked anywhere don't overthink it. Order whatever catches your eye. You'll definitely leave happy.

Not too bready - perfectly toasted. Could have used more hollandaise, which I couldn't really taste and is usually the most important part. I would've asked for more if server had ever come back to our table once food was delivered. Alas, they did not. Only reason it's not 5 stars. Bloody Marys were fantastic. Star was probably husband's biscuits and gravy. That gravy was PHENOMENAL and the biscuits were excellent. Overall - service could definitely use improvement but host was very helpful, food was fantastic, ambience was fun, and hats off to the talented chef!

I scraped it off with my knife and found it was a big glob of completely uncooked egg white. It was honestly one of the grossest things I've experienced at a restaurant. I sent the dish back, and to the waitress's credit, she was professional and offered to replace it. But I was so grossed out that I didn't want another one. The bigger problem was how management handled it. Instead of comping the dish, they initially gave only a 20% discount. When I questioned it, the manager said that because I had eaten about half, they'd only give me 50% off and that I should have had it replaced. That completely missed the point. Once you find something that disgusting in your food, you're not exactly eager for round two. The waitress was fine, but the manager's response made a bad experience worse.

We saw some people exiting Goat Mountain and were able to snag their empty seats at the bar. Lucky us! And not only for the seats. We've never been here before, and we had a great time. We ordered the Goat Mountain Salad--huge! A bargain! Varied! Delicious! And I, who has never met a beet that I didn't dislike, was delighted that ingredients were grouped individually so I could avoid those. Wonderful salad! And--for a mere buck--you can order a dressing on the side for anything you want. The buttermilk was delicious. I ordered a slice of the Apple & Bacon pie; my guy, Potato & Bacon. Upon their arrival, our notions of pizza were shattered. These were big slices of cake! (Website says Roman-style--we've been to Rome, but these exquisite things were very different.) Totally yummy. As was the warm chocolate chip cookie--divine. (Funny story: I didn't have my readers on. I thought the price was $25. "That's quite a cookie!" I thought, imagining one as large as a pizza--which, incidentally, would have been more expensive than their full pizzas! I looked over the Happy Hour menu, planning a future return. The cookie on the HH menu was only $2. A savings, I excitedly told our bartenders, Miyuki and Montana, of $23!!! No, they told me: 50 cents. I hadn't been able to see the dot.) And speaking of our barkeeps, I am so glad we sat up at the bar. They were wholly delightful and friendly. We very much enjoyed chatting with them. We felt like we had just moved and this was our new "neighborhood bar." And their recommendations for food and drink were spot on. The Smoke in Mirrors was fantastical! Great place!

The bioluminescence drink is very aesthetic and drinks like a soda / energy drink, though it is a one and done for me as I don't feel the sparkles are the most healthy thing. The toasty marshmallow latte was a bit pricy at $7.50 but they had 3 pieces of toasted marshmallow that is perfect (s'mores like but not burnt) and there is a lot of drink. It was on the sweeter side for me. They have Cinnamon Toast Crunch on the side but it was a bit stale, but I won't be docking off a star as there's not much to it and everything else was delicious. The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!
