Visited this weekend and ordered several different items. Good, not great subs. The meatballs were packaged and very little spaghetti sauce. Cheese wasn't melted, so it was dry. My tuna was also dry. It was tuna, then a spread of mayo. Not what I thought it would be. Mixed mayo and tuna would have been creamer. Honey ham was fabulous and made the sub. Our last order was #20 and satisfied my sister's appetite. Smooth operation will very little wait for a Saturday afternoon. Crew was friendly and never seemed like your order was ridiculous. Well, one server looks stoned, one stood there and did nothing and the two other ones couldn't figure out how to make a sandwich while letting other people cut in line... Really crappy customer service and they couldn't even make the sandwich correct... 25 minute wait when we were second ones in line... Stopped by DaVinci's for a quick bite right before Thanksgiving and was impressed with the sandwich selection. I opted for the classic Philly cheesesteak with mayo. The wait time was about what you'd expect for a busy sandwich shop, so don't expect to get in and out super fast. While you wait, check out all the fun decor and murals around the shop. Once I got my sandwich back home, I found it to be kind of dry with too much meat (I know, what a problem to have, right?) and realized they hadn't put the mayo on. I salvaged it by just adding mayo from home and it was pretty good. I know other people rave about this spot, so I will definitely be trying it again and am hoping they just had an off day before the holiday. read more

Our sandwiches were prepared quickly, at a reasonable price, and were still hot and fantastic when they arrived home. A big hit with the family, and one of the best hot sandwiches we have had, since moving back to Bellingham. Every time I've had a sandwich from Davinci it's always been a home run. The sandwiches are delicious and you get them how you like them. The staff are also friendly. Last visit I went there and the sandwich I got isn't typically toasted and I asked if I could get it toasted and the employee was more than happy to do that for me. My only complaint is that some days they are so poplar that I have to wait in line. But it's worth it! This is one of my regular places to go eat and I'll be back many times in the future. read more

We spent and afternoon out at Lake Whatcom and hit Davinci's on the way home. They were very busy, sandwich after sandwich was being brought out to customers waiting outside and enjoying the February sunshine. My Turkey Sub on wheat bread was really good, very fresh, they cut my turkey fresh right in front of me, and we didn't have to wait very long for our sandwiches. The 1/2 Sub was more than enough for lunch. Davinci's has a huge menu, I'll have to go back and try some of the hot sandwiches, and I'm sure I'll be stopping by again when I am out by Lake Whatcom. I've tried this market a few times. I absolutely love hoagie subs. This order take out place is located in a gas station mini-market. They have most of the items you'd see in a 7-11, but with a nice little sandwich, place to order food to go when you feel like it. I ordered the classic cheesesteak sandwich with high hopes. You will have to usually wait in a short line, as they do a lot of business. They do a reasonable speed of making the sandwich, so you won't have to wait long. You'll pay and wait for it for a few minutes and they will call your name. The first bite, and well. It was bland. Very little seasoning on it. The texture was okay. Very little sauce and the sandwich just tasted flat. I had really hoped the place would live up to their potential. This was the 2nd time I had been there and it was pretty much the same as it was previously. If you want something on the go that is filling, yes you will find it here. The flavor will not kick you over, you'll just be full for the rest of your day. Nice place for extra goodies if you need them from mini-mart. read more

I decided to try da vinci's after a hiking day in sudden valley, and it has lived up to the talk and more! My wait for a cold sandwich and tater tots was an impressive less than 5 minutes (from walking in, ordering, paying, to receiving) I saw some people waiting for hot sammies tho. The food itself was great! The 8 inch sub is big enough for 2 meals arguably, and the tater tots were the best I've had in the Bellingham area!! Don't pass on the tots people. I got the cheese and veggie sub, and the only thing I will do next time is get it toasted! Still good! The workers were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I will be back! read more

Sometimes I come by this place, the food is good and they have some rare sodas. However, the same boring music is always playing, like on a loop. I can't stand it. I wish they would shake things up a little. Years ago, I came by and they were playing Ween. I used to be going to DaVinch a lot more back then, let me tell you. Everyone likes Ween, little kids, old ladies, college students, and those that are hungry for a nice sandwich. Anyway, I highly recommend the karma water or the Curiosity Cola if you are thirsty, and the Philly to eat if you are hungry. They have other great sandwiches but the font on the menu is unreadable due to the small size and kerning, so I haven't been able to order many of them. It's a good place overall, but they need to shake things up a little if you ask me. read more

This is one of my go-to places with my son (now 9 years old). We always get the same thing - a full Philly Cheesesteak - no mushrooms, pepper jack cheese (on my 1/2), with their house sauce and seasoning. We love it! It's a lot of food at a fair price. I'd recommend eating it quickly as if you wait even 10+ minutes, the sauce can make a little bit of a mess as you try to un-wrap your sandwich. Also, we always order ours "to-go." They do have seating inside but just be aware, this isn't a restaurant...it's mostly a gas-station with a small store that also makes some great sandwiches. I feel like Davincis is one of Bellingham's best kept secrets, tucked away in a gas station... so unassuming, so just... there? And then you get a sandwich and you're like... wait, what? they are known for the philly cheese steaks, my husband swears by them. The meaty, cheesy, goodness definitely rivals what we've eaten on the East Coast on our day. This is our favorite spot though to grab lunch and bring it to the Lake. The prices are stellar, and the sandwiches are bomb. My favorite is the #12 which is just a bunch of Italian goodness, I love that they offer red vinegar and oil and salt and pepper and all the things. It's like what subway was before we realized it was shit, but like wayyyy better. They make their own bread fresh daily, I mean, come on? The employees that work here are always nice, and efficient... the ability to be able to stock up on chips and drinks and cookies all while waiting for your delicious sandwich makes it worth the stop. We love davincis! Grew up going here with friends after a lake day. It's a great establishment, with yummy food and convenient snacks. Only feedback would be is that they ALWAYS, and I mean, ALWAYSSSSSSS forget the fries and fry sauce. We now make sure to double remind them and usually have to ask for them before leavings. We have gone here for years but it is going downhill. This morning we ordered a ham only breakfast sandwich but they made a ham, egg, hash brown and cheese one, gave us two hash browns instead of four and still charged for four. Overall not a pleasant experience. They consistently get our orders wrong and have a worker who looks like Belushi who must hate his job because he is so rude. You better watch these guys make your sandwich closely because they always mess up my sandwiches up when I say always 9 and 1/2 times out of 10 if I'm not sitting there babysitting them they mess it up. And good luck trying to call them it goes directly to voicemail and their voicemail box is always full. No advance notice, just we are not doing your order. And on a Sunday, it was supposed to be ready on Monday morning. This is exactly why people skip local places. You would think these people don't want business, start the day planning not to feed anyone or make money. Maybe these allegations are not true, but their attitude and speed speaks wonders. Their food is good, I like getting sandwiches from here vs some sub chain, however I typically want a sandwich as something quick - or else I would have waited in line at the Deli counter of Haggens. We have come in here on the way to work at about 7am and been told "We are out of breakfast" -- which is weird because you have been open for like an hour, how did you plan at all and run out of breakfast in an hour? Once I even asked if I could just get a regular sandwich and was told they can't make sandwiches until 10:30. That's great and all, but I'm hungry with money in my hands and will now go somewhere else because you obviously don't want business. May as well send the workers home because they have nothing to do until lunch time. Well, sort of they will have something to do during lunch but they won't be working fast at making your food. The owners of this place need to make some changes to how things are run at this place. It's time to watch that surveillance camera feed and notice how long the simplest tasks take, how many people walk in asking for something and are flat out turned away. read more

I'm astounded that this is my first check-in and review for DaVinci's. I estimate that I've stopped here for one of the delicious sandwiches at least twice a month for the past ten years. I just have not connected Yelp check-ins and DaVinci's in my brain before. DaVinci's has a great selection of corner market items plus a fantastic wine and beer section. And they have abundant gourmet food items. Then...they have the sandwich bar which really is two different animals. The traditional sandwiches are made to order with generous serving sizes, fresh bread and awesome ingredients. I'm always delighted and content with my choices. Today however is my favorite from the other side of the sandwich world. Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches grilled before your hungry eyes. For the first time I ordered with a "house" sauce which was awesome. Give this Bellingham treasure a try. You will love it! read more

MMMMmmmmm, nothing beats a really well made sub! Ok maybe a really well made philly... I swear I practically lived off these things my first few weeks in college! They have tons of sub choices and great products for them; genoa, procuito, salmi, pepporoni, you name it... there bread is always fresh and never tastes stale. They prepare it in front of you and listen to what you say... you say more mayo they give you more mayo, you say not enough? they give you more. Oh and their philly's, now that is a wonderful splurge if you love cheese and meat! MEAT AND CHEESE people! What's not to like here! yumm! The service I experienced was beyond rude and unhelpful. I had to yell over a TV blasting a basketball game and had to repeat myself multiple times. The boys behind the counter were very rude when I kept trying to politely repeat my order. The food was whatever, I got a Southwest chicken sandwich and saw them pull the chicken out of a bag and heat it up in a microwave then put it on my sandwich. How gross.
