Excellent smash burger restaurant in Bellingham! The place is actually a food truck and is right next to Wander Brewing so you can place an order and once you get it eat inside the brewery. Luchadora as the name implies specializes in these types of burgers but they also have burritos also. The smash burger that I ordered was The Pachuco. This was a burger with guacamole, con safo sauce, fried pepperjack cheese and grilled onions. Yhe burger was great! The picture if this burger made it a little intimidating looking with the cheese fried and coming out on one end but actually having it in front of you is quite manageable. We also got a large portion of French Fries and split them. The fries were excellent as you bit into them they were creamy in the center which is perfect. Dipping these in ketchup is of course great but dipping them in the hot sauce that is with the other condiments is very good too! read more

You order via the QR code or the tablet, which says 15-20 minutes for your order, but around minute 30 you go ask where it is and the staff at not happy to see you. "you'll get a text"- which is written nowhere. 45 minutes to get an 2/5 burger that you ordered on the condition that you think it's coming in 15 minutes. Their burgers are super smashed to perfection, they have a vegetarian beyond meat option, they have so many delicious sauces, and I could literally eat there every week! I'm SO happy Wander has a permanent food truck and I'm so happy it's got real meat. I'm not huge on smashburgers but these were pretty good, if not a little TOO smashed/burnt. It's normal food truck prices, so assume at least $30 with two people. Here's the lowdown: PROS: We got a double, and for $11, it's definitely a good deal. Decent amount of meats and everything else in it. They might want to try to time the patties a bit better because it was a bit overburnt and too crumbly, but with a smashburger, you get what you get. We also got the large fry, which was seasoned and tasty, but they're fries so I'm a little biased. CONS: I didn't want to admit this but I'm old. And the website font (and design) - not super discerning with the numbers or menu. The burrito we got, it looks like $10, especially if you write your zeroes with a slash through them. Surprise, it's $16. And for a $16 burrito, no thank you, and especially not this one. I have had many, many other food truck burritos for less, that were better (and warm, and not soggy). Each sauce is $1 - a large fry should come with ONE sauce. And they need to plan their food allocation better. We ordered just before 5pm and they were already out of all their smoked meats. It might be a testament to "how good" it is, but you shouldn't be running out of meat when you've still got half the night ahead of you. I know they're new and there's a few things to be discovered, like if the special burgers are single or double patty, and if the Frito pie is just like TX, but otherwise it's a 3-star with potential. read more

Super cute gimmick. Cool name. Horrible execution. We paid $8 for a burger and $3 for fries. Not expecting anything by food truck food. But even those expectations were too much. The patty at its thickest was 1/4 inch thick. Fine. But half of the burger was burnt and crumbled off when we picked it up. The bun was also burnt. They tried to make up for this with special sauce, pickles and lettuce. But the burnt flavor of the beef was bad. We took two bites total... then I took it to the counter cause at this point I was gobsmacked this would leave the kitchen with a stamp of approval. The lady at the counter argued with me and said "oh this is called a smash burger, the edges are caramelized." I know what a smash burger is, I've had MANY that were caramelized. But black and crumbly is burnt. So after showing her she argued that's how smash burgers are suppose to come. Only after I said fine and started walking off did she say, do you want me to remake it? No, no I don't. I want you to hear a customer and make it right, not argue. My bf ended up eating it and said it was overly salty. I hate pulling the "I was a kitchen manager before" card. But in no way shape or form would I argue with a paying customer. We won't be back. Love the brewery it's next to, but boooo on this place. I think I found my smash burger place!!! Located at Wander. This food truck has some great burgers. Fries are great too but might be too spicy for some people. I like the seasoning but my kid was not into it. I also got to try some of their sauces. My favorite has to be the green sauce. Yummy! We ordered smash burgers (perfection), fries were excellent, and we ordered the Pinche Chido (taquitos) - she apologized and said that it would take 20 minutes because she had to HAND ROLL them (it was the end of the night, they had run out). I ordered online and was given an estimate of 20 minutes. Showed up a little early but gave them a heads up that I was there so they gave me a buzzer. Nearly two hours later I received my burrito and chips, with some brown guacamole. I realize businesses can get busy, understaffed or overwhelmed but I didn't feel like the food, or the service while waiting was worth the price, it really felt rushed and didn't live up to the hype I had been given. Cannot recommend and would suggest to avoid this food truck. Placed order in person on 7/11 for 2 burgers and two large fries. When my order was completed they packed it in front of me and stapled the ticket on the bag. Both burgers were incorrect (not gluten free and not dairy free) and we were missing a large order of fries. Ordered a simple cheeseburger from the kid's menu. kept going back every 20 minutes. about an hour later they handed us an adult menu avocado and pepper jack that was way too spicy for the kid. They apologized and said it would be another 15 minutes. 40 minutes later they hand us a too burnt burger that we originally asked for. They said they were training a new crew but just under 2 hours for a kid's menu SIMPLE cheeseburger that was only marginally edible was a terrible experience. The only saving grace what that they let us keep the mistake burger and the kid ate the fries.
