A little disappointed in my experience here. First off we didn't have a reservation so we had to wait, which wasn't a problem. The problem I had was with the host who kept giving us false promises. Told us to check in half an hour, fine. Table wasn't ready. Had to wait 10 minutes more, wasn't ready. Finally he said okay I have something. Felt like he didn't want us to dine there. The food itself wasn't all that good either. We ordered the spaghetti which tasted like it had no spices whatsoever, very bland. The popovers which everyone seems to rave about didn't do it for me, they tasted very eggy and like a pancake, which isn't what I expect from a dinner roll. The best thing we ordered was the steak and cheese spring rolls. However they forgot to make them for us so our appetizer didn't come out until after the main course did. The waitress apologized but still it was quite frustrating. For being an expensive and fancy restaurant I expected more out of the food quality.

Came here for a 3-course work meal, food was good for the MOST part. For appetizer I got the warm spinach, which was delicious & flavorful. For main course I got cod and risotto - not a huge risotto person but the cod was good, and I don't eat cod a lot. Dessert was called "tiramisu" but it was literally a chocolate dome with cream? Haha I still ate it though as a treat but it was certainly NOT "tiramisu" with coffee, cream. I also got a mocktail margarita which was good, and the decaf coffee they served after dinner was good too - came in a small little cup with cream + sugar on the side. Service was overall really good, our waiter was attentive- came with a party of around 16 people for work and he paid attention to all of our meals, really friendly and patient. Only thing again was the bathrooms weren't cleaned? I went into a few stalls and there was tissue in the toilet and also the toilet seats were wet with droplets of water on the side... again, this is what I saw last time at Davios which was slightly disappointing. Also this charcuterie board was good too! Our team loved it.

    Penne Bolognese

Came here for a work-related dinner (meal served along with an educational talk) with a large group - so didn't really choose from any drinks or entrees but had a chance to try a salad and one of the pasta dishes (penne bolognese). Arugula salad with shaved parmesan cheese - was quite good - liked the flavor on this a lot. Went well with black pepper seasoning which one of the servers added to taste (I asked for a lot and my wish was granted). Penne Bolognese with veal, beef, pork. Got this loaded up with extra parmesan cheese as well because why not. Overall a nice pasta dish and the penne was cooked perfectly. Would have been nice to have a little more fillings/meat but overall the flavor was balanced and I was satisfied.

We've been frequent diners at this restaurant for years, but tonight will sadly be our last visit. During our meal, we saw a mouse running around the table next to us. I immediately informed the hostess, who responded nonchalantly with, "Ok, I'll let the manager know." To our surprise, the hostess returned shortly after with a party of four and seated them at the very table where the mouse was. I tried to get her attention to let her know that was the table, but instead of addressing the issue, she was incredibly rude to me. I was simply trying to help, as I wouldn't want to sit at a table where a mouse was running around. The manager eventually came over and he defended his hostess and lacked concern. Their reaction--or lack of concern--made us wonder if mice are frequent visitors here, as they neither seemed surprised nor apologetic. I then brought it up to our waitress, who was extremely apologetic and visibly upset, admitting she doesn't like mice either. She promptly moved us across the restaurant and tried her best to salvage the situation. Adding to the disappointment, the food was poorly prepared. My daughter ordered a plain cheeseburger, cooked medium, but it came well done with green sauce, bacon, lettuce, and tomato--nothing like what she asked for. My other daughter's medium steak arrived medium rare/rare. The only positive part of the evening was our waitress, who did her best in a difficult situation. However, the overall lack of care and hospitality from the management team means we'll be giving our business to neighboring restaurants that prioritize their guests' experience and safety.

I'm happy to report--it was real, and we had a great brunch! We made a reservation, were seated without any issues, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. I ordered the steak and eggs with a mixed salad, while my boyfriend got the steak frites and a yogurt parfait with dried fruit and granola. He's usually not a fan of parfaits, but he ended up loving it. The portions were just right--filling without leaving you overly stuffed. My only small critique is that the steak was sliced pretty thin, so it didn't quite feel like the best value for the price, even though it was flavorful and cooked well. And yes, the 25-cent brunch cocktails are actually real! They made the whole experience even more fun. We'd definitely come back for brunch.

The bread came out very warm and was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The salad was heavily dressed (which we appreciated) and was a nice, light starter. I didn't ask, but a second round of salad would've been cool too. They offered fresh cracked pepper for my salad. The steak was fine. It was very thinly sliced, and while this made the steak tender, I left feeling like I could've eaten more. The second round came by when we were about halfway through with the first round. While I appreciated that it was automatically sent out, I wish I could've made the request when I was ready. This made the meal feel rushed and sort of unsanitary; the new round was just slapped on top of the old one and I wondered how many other dishes the tongs had served before touching mine. It's the same logic as going to the buffet; you always get a fresh plate to minimize cross-contamination and having a second round come out on a different plate would've bumped up the experience for me and created a better sense of value (even with the same amount of food). They didn't offer fresh pepper for my steak, but I think that's the only other thing that would've bumped up the flavor for me. The sauce was good. It had a strong earthy, mushroom flavor and was nice for the steak but was also a great sauce for the fries too. I get why folks rave about the sauce. We ended up getting the carrot cake to finish and this was the best part of the meal (which is a little sad if they don't make it themselves). It was moist, had nuts and raisins, and came out as a nice hefty wedge. If you're not completely full at the end of the meal and don't feel like anything else for dessert in the area (ice cream, cookies, donuts, etc.), their desserts aren't a bad option.

We're so glad we decided to come back for such a special occasion. The atmosphere: Capricho has a charming and cozy dining room that creates an intimate, welcoming atmosphere. It's the kind of place that feels perfect for celebrating special moments with loved ones. The food: We were welcomed with complimentary plantain chips served alongside a light, fresh dipping sauce, which was a great start to the meal. My table opted for the prix fixe menu, which allowed us to sample a variety of dishes. For starters, we ordered the Papas Rellenas and Yucca Croquettes. Both were light, flavorful, and paired beautifully with their accompanying sauces. We also added the Charred Octopus, which was incredibly tender, not chewy at all, and packed with flavor. For my entrée, I chose the Steak Frites, served with brussels sprouts and fries. I'm usually not a fan of brussels sprouts, but these were crispy, airy, and perfectly seasoned. The steak was cooked well, and while I enjoyed the dish overall, I do wish the fries had been cooked a bit longer, as they were slightly underdone for my preference. For dessert, I tried the Dulce de Maracuyá, a panna cotta-style dessert featuring mango and passionfruit flavors. It wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated, and the bright, fruity notes provided a refreshing end to the meal. The service: The service was fantastic. Food-wise, none of the dishes we got particularly wowed me (the sauces that came with each dish were better than the actual food) but I'd come back to try other things from the very extensive list. We got: 1. Patatas bravas: The best thing we got, though we should have eaten this when it was still hot and crispy. After sitting out for a while, it became a mushy mess with the sauce. 2. Spiced meatballs: Very small size for the meatball and not much spice (like less than a bite) but the sauce was excellent. 3. Jamon croquettes: Not bad but the filling was pretty gluey in texture. Definitely need to eat with the accompanying sauce. I ended up dunking it in the sauce that came with the meatballs. 4. Grilled peaches: Intrigued by this summer offering but I'd say skip. For $7, we got five very small slices of peach in an indistinguishable, vaguely sugary/burnt sauce. If you have a grill and a peach, you can definitely make a much better version of this for far cheaper. 5. Shrimp in garlic sauce: Fell flat. The shrimp were small and extremely overcooked. The only saving grace of this dish was the scallion/garlic oil that we used to dip the extra bread in. Food came out very fast and our waitress came by often to check on us and see if we needed.
