It's tough to get a res here, and I'm already trying to get another one. The restaurant is intimate but casual, and it's definitely the best Italian food I've ever had. I thought everything was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, but the tiramisu was what changed everything for me! That tiramisu blew my mind, I'd go back just for that.
Tonino is such a gem in JP -- everything about the experience just hits. The pizza was delicious, and definitely don't skip the dips -- even with a red pie. They take the crust to another level and make sure nothing goes to waste. I also had the clams and bucatini with anchovy chili butter, and it was absolutely to die for -- rich, flavorful, and one of those dishes you keep thinking about after the meal ends. The cocktails and the wine selection is great. I had the house spritz and it was refreshing and a beautiful digression from an Aperol spritz. The service was impeccable -- super personable and attentive without ever feeling over the top. And the vibe? Perfect. Great music, intimate energy, and a fun atmosphere that makes a small space feel just right. Easily one of my favorite spots in JP right now. Can't wait to come back.
My husband and I recently visited Tonino for my birthday and enjoyed it so much. The ambiance is very cozy and the staff makes you feel like family. We started with the pizza bianca which was yummy. I went with the famous Taleggio Cappelletti. It was absolutely delicious, I only wish it was double the size, and was drowning in more of that incredible aged balsamic. My husband went with the Cavatelli. The flavors were wonderful but the pasta was just a little too al dente for him, and I agreed. He wished he had what I had. For dessert we had the tiramisu and it was beyond words. SO sinfully spectacular. I would recommend Tonino to anyone.
This tiny little spot seems beloved by the locals in JP, so much so that we couldn't snag a reservation while we were in town. However, they do have a limited takeout menu that is stacked with some of the tastiest pizza around. These tall, airy focaccia pies are dreamy carb-lovers' delights. I was sure I'd love the hot honey and pepperoni combination the best, or the eggplant and ricotta one, but it was the simplicity of the margherita (and the richness of the cheese) that took the top honors. We ordered and enjoyed all three, along with the excellent Trevisano salad (chicory, parsley, pickled cipollini onions, pecorino romano, garlic butter breadcrumbs, red wine vinaigrette). We also got the pizza bianca, which is just their house bread with dips, and here is where I have a bone to pick with Tonino. Please, allow people to purchase all the dips with your bread (or without it)! We were only able to choose one on the website, and I was said I didn't get to try all three, especially with the pizza crusts we had left over. Can't wait to come in for a full dinner.
This has to be one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the greater Boston area! It's a small, cozy restaurant, which happens to be my favorite. The servers were all so sweet and made it such a great experience. We started with the ricotta and hot honey pizza bianca, which we loved. For mains we ordered the taleggio cappelleti and rigatoni amatriciana. The cappelleti was a little bit too heavy for my taste, but the rigatoni was amazing. Perfectly cooked and flavorful. We will definitely be back!
Tonino is the cutest little Italian spot tucked away in JP. Here's the top two things you need to know: 1. You will 100% need a reservation if you want to eat here, and it isn't going to be easy to get 2. It's so worth it. In a city full of stellar Italian food, it easily holds its own To get a res here, you're going to have to log on at noon 30 days in advance when they open up. That's what my husband and I did but unfortunately we weren't logged in when we were booking. In the 2 minutes it took us to navigate to the login and back, the only reservation left was at 9:45pm, so that's what we got! Even at a later time, the place was 100% full when we arrived. The space is tiny, but super cozy and romantic, with a handful of tables and an open kitchen in the back. We were seated at the two-top chef's counter, which is usually the only table reserved for walk-ins, but felt like we were getting the VIP treatment. The drink menu is small, but super well curated. I had an Etna Rosso that I loved, and my husband went with the La Canzone cocktail, which was similar to a negroni and super tasty. Our server was so attentive and gave us some great tips on the menu. With how hard it is to get into this place, we decided to try a lot and pack up the leftovers at the end. Our favorites were the Pizza Bianca with Stracciatella, the Mortadella, and the Taleggio Cappelletti. The Taleggio Cappelletti is all over Tiktok and IG in Boston, and now I know why. The cheese is so creamy and just a little bit funky, while the pasta was clearly homemade and cooked perfectly. I almost didn't want to write this review because I don't want Tonino getting any busier than it is, but they earned it. Can't wait to find my way back here again someday!
Food is amazing! This is a tiny spot that gets very busy, so definitely make a reservation if you can. It was a bit frustrating to get one -- we were on the waitlist for months, and whenever a spot opened up, it would get booked almost instantly. We eventually decided to just walk in and got really lucky. We ended up with great seats toward the back, at a bar-style island near the kitchen -- much better than being squeezed between other tables. I fell in love with the bread and Brie spread; I even order it for takeout now as a snack. Love this place in the heart of JP -- they should absolutely expand!
This spot is hard to get a reservation for, but well worth the wait. We finally got the chance to come to Tonino after living in JP for a year and a half. This restaurant is what JP needs... an elegant and elevated dining experience. We tried each of their white wines and were absolutely in love. Our salads and pastas were delicious. We especially loved the tomato salad -- it was a fresh and bright summer salad that was well balanced and delicious. The anchovy pasta was also super yummy! We will definitely be back for our next special occasion. Highly recommend to any and all Bostonians!
This spot truly lived up to the hype!! Had a lovely anniversary celebration here. The menu isn't too extensive or fancy, but it's absolutely delicious. The wine list is nice too because they list out all the tasting notes for each wine which is helpful. We tried the pepperoni pizza and the taleggio cappelleti & rigatoni amatriciana pastas. Tiramisu for dessert was classic and a pretty big portion. Everything was so good and I have no notes. The vibes were simple, cozy, and intimate and our server was very attentive, and even brought over the ricotta & hot honey dip for us to try with our pizza, which was so delicious!! We took the rest of it home and devoured it as a midnight snack.

I felt like I had to BATTLE for a reservation for two on a Friday night--went to Resy 30 days in advance, tried for 6:30, somebody had taken that slot, so grabbed the 8:30pm time. Because it was so late, my boyfriend and I got some drinks and apps beforehand elsewhere and then did dinner and dessert at Tonino. The staff were really friendly, upbeat, and fun! They did a great job looking out for us and giving us advice on what to order. The restaurant is pretty TINY but has kind of an elegant, dimly-lit, cozy feel. I got this fabulous Italian clementine soda, so yummy!! We also got the rigatoni amatriciana and the lumanche. Then, we closed with the tiramisu. LOVED everything we got, but I think the lumanche was the star. I'd definitely come back if I could get a reservation!!
I returned here for a last minute dinner last night and it was delicious and made up for my previous visit in whole! The service is amazing and being seated at the bar even got me extra attention it appeared. I was in between two dishes and the waitress was kind enough to bring me a small sample of the dish I did not end up trying (the cappeletti). That gesture did cannot go unpraised by me, as it meant a lot! It also introduced me to my new favorite dish. Last time I was here, I was very underwhelmed but the two pasta dishes I got this time were amazing!
Finally got a reservation and it was 100% worth the wait. From the service, to the soundtrack, to the food the entire vibe of Tonino is just fantastic. For a restaurant that's so hard to get into you almost expect it to be a little stuffy but it was the complete opposite. It has the feel of a cozy neighborhood joint with the most helpful friendly wait staff. The menu may be small but it is sublime. We started with the pizza binaca with the stracciatella/balsamic/tomato/basil dip. Perfection. The focaccia was soft and crunchy and the dip was decadent! We also were there on a night the chef made his meatball - a don't miss if they're on special. So soft they melt in your mouth. We also ordered the green salad with its bread crumb topping and mustard vinaigrette - delicious. We split two pastas: the anchovy butter bucatini and the taleggio cappeletti. Both were perfection BUT the cappeletti was hands down one of the best bites I've ever eaten. Chewy, creamy, funky and a hint of sweetness - I'll be counting the days until I have them again! We ended the night sharing a piece of cheesecake - apparently the chef's grandmother recipe. I've never had such a light cheesecake- and the fennel pollen and drizzle of olive oil added such a nice flavor. Truly I wanted to come home and immediately make another reservation for next month.
Pizza Bianca (9.5/10): Fantastic bread, bursting with aroma. Nice texture as well. We got the stracciatella/tomato relish/balsamic/basil with it. Tasted SOO good. Very well balanced - I especially liked the stracciatella. Taleggio Capeletti (7/10): A bit too rich and too salty for my tastes. I think this dish just needed something to cut through the richness. Still really good nonetheless. Lumache (8/10): The chew on the pasta is impeccable!! The chew on those mushrooms is also insane. Texture-wise, this dish was a home run. For some reason, I kept getting hints of something resembling boar taint in the sauce flavor itself. Not sure why... I don't think there was meat? I feel like I would've given this dish a 10/10 had it not been for the hint of that flavor. Service was very friendly and fast. The restaurant is small, but the seating didn't feel too tight. Even though I gave it a 5/5, I actually don't know if I would come again. The pasta was very steeply priced for not that much food. Although the capeletti was surprisingly filling, I'd rather feel full on carbs than full on pure butter and cheese. read more
Another 10/10 visit to Tonino in the books! It's such a hard reservation to get, but so worth it. I'm actually getting salivating while posting this review and looking back at my food pictures. I get the Eggplant & Ricotta Pizza as my appetizer and the Rigatoni Amatriciana as my entree each time I go - because they're consistently amazing. The service is always warm and friendly, and I also love the music playlist they play. Believe the hype & come to Tonino!! read more
People rave about this place being better than the north end; I would say it's definitely more original, and the approach to food is much more intentional. However, I don't know that it lived up to the hype that I anticipated. We got the pizza Bianca with ricotta with hot honey, which was basically just like plain toasted focaccia and ricotta (wasn't anything to write home about). The taleggio was 100% our least favorite and we didn't even finish half. We had asked the waiter to describe taste profile, which they said was a "little funky" and had asked for clarification if it was closer to blue cheese. Once it arrived, it was like a verrrrrry strong/stinky Brie on the inside. The balsamic didn't really contribute to the taste at all. Sad that we didn't like this/kinda made me feel yucky after eating. The cavatelli was very good- nice light creamy sauce with the sausage and bitter broccolini. Very well balanced. Forgot to take a pic of the tiramisu but it was good, too! It's kinda salty (they add sea salt to the top). Drink menu was limited. Had two different glasses of red wine but wish they had something more full bodied on the menu! read more

An unfortunate skip. Snagged a last minute res and was pumped. Small, dimly lit place. Starting off, I enjoyed the hot honey pepperoni pizza. Nicely toasted dough and a large portion for the price (1 slice is actually 2!). But the cavatelli was too bitter with the broccoli rabe and lemon, did not enjoy at all. I should've gotten the famous taleggio cappelletti, but the waitress recommended the cavatelli :(. Overall, not worth the trouble of making a res and trekking out to JP. read more

10/10. This establishment is one of Boston's most popular restaurants for good reason. Reservations are released at noon via Resy 30 days in advance. There was plenty of street parking nearby. Our waitress was very attentive and kind, offering to take our drink orders while we were waiting for our table to be ready. For appetizers, we ordered the Pizza Bianca with ricotta and hot honey. The dip was great, but the star of the dish was the deliciously fresh, hot bread. We shared three pasta plates. The Taleggio Cappelletti was rich and savory. The Cavatelli with Italian sausage and broccoli rabe was also amazing. Our favorite pasta though was the incredible Lumache with mushrooms. Each dish was delicious and by far the best pasta we've ever had. For desserts we ordered the panna cotta and ricotta cheesecake. It was the most unique panna cotta I've ever had paired with crisp apples and basil sugar. The cheesecake was light, fluffy, and herbally with fennel pollen drizzled on top. It's a small restaurant with intimate and romantic vibes. The wait staff are friendly and created a beautiful dining experience. Tonino's is a must try restaurant in Boston! read more
In my opinion the best Italian food in Boston! You need reservations to eat here period! You walk into a very small restaurant with maybe 10 tables. They do have a counter that sits 2 looking into the kitchen that would be cool! Our server was amazing! Kathryn was very informative and engaging! She got to know us personally and we got to know about her. We had 3 in our group so we decide to eat tapas style, so we got several small plates and shared. In my option this is the best way to eat here so you can try several things. We asked Kathryn her opinion on several things and she did not steer us wrong. Everything was Amazing! From the wine to the desserts! I can't remember all that we got, so you will have to look at the pictures. If you live in Boston or just visiting. What are you waiting for! Cheers! read more
Everything here was amazing. We got reservations two months out but they seem to have day of reservations that do pop up so keep an eye out. The pizza was amazing and is the same dough as the bread and dip so we didn't feel the need to try that. I highly recommend! FYI- we went on a weeknight with a reservation and a walk in was quoted 2 hours. read more

I had the Lumache with Mushrooms, and it was absolutely delicious. We started with the Whipped Ricotta with Honey and Bread, which was the perfect beginning to the meal. My husband tried both the Eggplant Pizza and the Hot Honey and Pepperoni Pizza, and they were incredible to him . To drink, I had the Orange Clementine Soda, and even the filtered water was refreshing and crisp. Our server, Catherine, was knowledgeable, warm, and truly elevated the entire experience. Honestly, she was even more amazing than the food, and that says a lot because the food was outstanding. Everything tasted so fresh, and you could tell every dish was made to order. I even sampled the pork bites from the Rigatoni with Pork Ragu, and they were smoky and full of flavor. The bathroom was spotless with unique decor, and while the space itself is small, it feels cozy and welcoming. I will absolutely be back. Please go, it is so worth the hype! read more
Tonino is a local Italian joint that requires reservations 2 months in advance to enjoy its very carefully crafted menu. Overall I really enjoyed the food, experience, and we really wanted to try everything simply because it was hard to get a reservation. First, their reservations go quickly because the dining area is small, and their hours are limited. I'd recommend camping out the resy to get the date you want. Second, their menu is mainly pizza bianca, appetizers, pizzas, and pastas. It's a relatively small menu but you can tell everything is handcrafted and made fresh. Their pizza is thick, imagine more like a focaccia thickness, and cut into the square Detroit style. You think the pizza is small, but because of its thickness, it's actually quite filling. We tried the pepperoni with hot honey pizza and eggplant pizza and I have to say that the eggplant was the winner for me, although my friends enjoyed the other one. I think the eggplant did a good job soaking into the bread. For appetizers, we tried the kale salad and while it was refreshing, I wasn't especially in love with it. We tried almost all of the pastas. All of the pastas were cooked to the perfect al dente. My and my friend's collective favorite is the Lumache with mushroom and I would highly recommend trying that one. The taleggio is a burst of cheese which is not my style, the cavatelli with sausage was a little salty for me, and the bucatini was a bit plain. The rigatoni was good but there were a few burnt pieces of pancetta. Lastly, we tried the tiramisu and panna cotta. The tiramisu was pretty decent, but not the best I've ever had. There was an especially salty layer, and the lady fingers were rather cake-y. The panna cotta came with apple pieces which I think was just an okay combo, but the dessert itself was good. Overall, I had a great time at this place, the waiter was very friendly and personable, and I had fun trying the menu. However, this place is not 5 stars because I think it was on the more expensive side, the dishes are relatively small, and I would probably only come back for the mushroom pasta (especially given the difficulty in getting reservations). read more
While it isn't easy to get a reservation, keep trying because Tonino is worth it. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the best Italian food in boston is not in the North End. While I wanted to try everything, it is necessary to have some restraint if you want to make it to the best tiramisu in Massachusetts. We wanted to taste the pizza so we shared a slice to start. We had a dope salad. I ordered the amitriciana because we had gone to rome in the summer and it was one of the four main Roman dishes. It was nice, but the absolute star was the taleggio cappetelli. Be sure to order it. Or order two. So delicious that I would go out of my way to return to Tonino just for this dish. read more
The reviews are right.. getting a reservation to this place is DIFFICULT. I got lucky enough to snag a reservation during my desired time slot, checked out with quickness, and about a minute later after I refreshed everything was already taken lol. They're one of the top rated places on Beli, and for good reason! They're located in a quaint area in Jamaica Plain. We were visiting Boston for a vacation, and made the trek to get here via the T which was about 25-30 minutes from where we were staying (def worth the trip). Everything that we ordered was delicious! + Pizza Bianca (5/5): Our server recommended the flight if you can't decide on what kind of dip you want to get. This was the PERFECT decision because eeevery single dip was so delicious!! I thought I'd like the ricotta and hot honey the most, but my #1 dip was the eggplant caponata. The flavors were so unique - the eggplant was tender, and I loved how fresh it tasted. + Pepperoni & Hot Honey Pizza Slice (4/5) ($7): I think this was the only thing I felt like we could've skipped on, if I had to choose anything. It was definitely good, but didn't have that extraordinary "wow" factor that'd make me want to go out of my way to have it again. The bread tasted the same as the one in the pizza bianca. + Taleggio Cappelletti (5/5) ($27): If there's one dish you get here, let it be the cappelletti!! I've never had anything like it and I'm still dreaming about it to this point lol. The sauce was rich and I loved the vibrance the balsamic added to it. The explosion of cheese once you bite into it was alsooo an amazing flavor! Top 5 pasta for me :) + Panna Cotta (5/5) ($12): The basil sugar?!? Oooomg. I was skeptical when the panna cotta came out because of the way it looked lol but don't judge a book by it's cover! It's not too sweet. The apples give it that perfect tartness and the texture from the basil sugar is soo good you'd have to try it yourself to know lol Overall, from start to finish this was such a wonderful experience!! Our server was amazing, and every single employee was also so attentive. I was lucky to get a last minute reservation and was so excited to try Tonino! It lived up to all the hype and was truly an unforgettable experience. The restaurant is definitely small but has a cozy and intimate vibe. You also get a view of the kitchen which is cool. All the staff is super nice and knowledgeable about the menu. We started off with the kale & cabbage caesar which was so crunchy and fresh. We moved on to the pasta dishes and ordered the bucatini and taleggio cappelletti. Both were delicious but the star was the taleggio cappelletti! I think it might be one of my favorite dishes I've tried in Boston. For dessert, we ordered the panna cotta which was the perfect end to the meal. If you're able to get a reservation, Tonino is a must try! read more

Tonino lives up to the hype. I totally get why reservations are so hard to come by here. Every pasta we had was incredible, the kind where each bite is rich and perfectly balanced without feeling heavy. And the tiramisu might genuinely be the best I've ever had. The right amount of espresso, light but indulgent, just really well done. Worth the effort to get a table. Will be back. read more
We got a last-minute reservation from the notifications feature on Resy and decided to jump on it- what an excellent decision! The restaurant itself is small and cozy, and we got seated at a corner table and welcomed by the staff. While the drinks section was limited, they were definitely well thought out, particularly the house spritz and the Mi-to! The appetizers were out of this world (if the meatballs are on the menu: get them!). I loved my pasta, which was the taleggio cappelletti. Such an interesting bite! My fiancé got the Lumache with mushrooms and we both agreed it was good, but underwhelming compared to the other dishes we tried. Probably the best part of the meal was the tiramisu! The sea salt and the cream were magnificent. Tonino was definitely a unique experience and we're excited to return and try more items off their menu! read more
I heard from several people this was the best Italian food they'd had in Boston (the greater Boston area) - and let me tell you, it soared past my high expectations. The service was great, atmosphere was chic and intimate, and the prices were more than fair. It's no wonder the reservations are booked two months out! Pro tip: if you call right when they open, they have a few tables they'll save for the day of. Otherwise add yourself to the waitlist on Resy and you may be able to snag a table! We were blown away by the pepperoni and hot honey pizza, and you HAVE to try the taleggio cappelletti and rigatoni amatriciana. My mouth is watering just remembering the flavors and textures. This actually might be one of my favorite restaurants of all time. I was lucky enough to have been in town when my Bostonian friend already had a reservation she made 2 months out. The server is incredibly friendly and attentive. The vibe is classy and intimate. Everything is on point. Cocktails are delicious, bread is delicious, pizza is delicious, pasta is delicious. Have you ever had the perfect amount of cheese burst in your mouth? Or taste mushrooms so flavorful they taste like they were sautéed on the pan seconds before? We got lucky and were able to get a reservation the day before we came for the last seating of the night. This restaurant is on all of the top lists for a reason. The dishes here are seemingly simple, but are executed well with high-quality ingredients. We couldn't decide between the different kinds of 'dips' for the pizza bianca, so our server was kind enough to put together a small tasting plate of each of the three. My personal favorite was the ricotta and hot honey. It's a classic - it was so light and had the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and creaminess. The clams are also another standout dish; it was perfectly cooked, and the broth was so flavorful that it could have been served by itself. The taleggio cappelleti is what I was most excited to try. It did not disappoint - the pasta still had a slight chew. Immediately after biting into it, it had such an intense cheesy richness that was followed by a slightly sweet tang from the aged balsamic. Of course, we had to finish the meal by trying all three of their desserts: panna cotta, cheesecake and tiramisu. The tiramisu was one of my favorites. It was more airy and light than most tiramisus I've had and was the perfect level of sweetness. Overall, it was a delicious indulgent meal that is worth the visit, at least once! read more

Finally was able to snag reservation that worked after a few weeks of trying to corral people together. The restaurant itself was great. I thought it was a little too dark but overall had a great ambiance and cute, subdued aesthetic. The music and general noise was also at a comfortable level, a nice touch which many restaurants get wrong. The service was also great. Very attentive and helpful for guiding us through the popular items, specials, and personal favorites. As a hungry group of three first-timers, we ordered 4 pastas, 2 desserts, a pizza bianca and sauce, and a slice of pizza. This amount ended up being right for leaving satiated without overly stuffed. The pizza pianca, like breadsticks, and pizza slice, like a "granny slice," was surprising light and really enjoyable. If you like crispy new york style this pizza won't scratch the itch but for lovers of flatbreads this is exceptional. The stracciatella dip was so good (the tomato relish was incredible!) as was the hot honey and pepperoni topping combination. We skipped the starters and went straight for the pastas. We split the taleggio cappelletti and each ordered our own: a seasonal butternut squash filled pasta, bucatini with anchovy chili butter, and rigatoni amatriciana. The pasta itself was outstanding. I love pasta with a bit of bite and this delivered. I thought the dishes could have all been a bit more flavourful. The popular cappelletti are little pockets of molten taleggio, a slightly funky cow's milk cheese and one of the favorites. I also really liked the rigatoni amatriciana. It was a much more tomato-ey sauce than I am used to for amatriciana and I really enjoyed it. The butternut squash raviolis were well done and bursting with sweetness. And the bucatini had all the umami from the anchovies and roe without being too fishy. Everything was good but they all lacked anything extra to be particularly special. I thought each dish could have used one more strong flavour to make the dish a bit more interesting. I had extremely high expectations due to the hype and hassle to make a reservation so that could have led to me being a bit underwhelmed. We finished off the meal with the tiramisu and panna cotta. Both were delicious, my favorite was the panna cotta. Overall, extremely good pasta and pizza and would love to return but for me, not sure I think its worth the hassle of planning a multiple weeks in advance. read more

I was lucky enough to snag a last minute reservation here. I started with the anchovies which came on squares of their pizza dough on top of a slab of butter. This was an unexpectedly great pairing! It was balanced but I will try a different appetizer before I came back to this. For my entree, I had the mushroom pasta. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. I would order again. Lastly, I had the tiramisu. It was a large portion so I took some home. Best tiramisu I've had since Italy! 100% recommend! read more

The pepperoni pizza slice with hot honey: nothing special. The bread was crispy and delicious, but the toppings were underwhelming. The sauce was perfectly tangy, but there wasn't enough of it, or the cheese. I also wish the pizza had come out more hot. Servers are very attentive here. I did notice that a lot of people with reservations were being asked to wait for a while to be seated. The small space is definitely the issue. Mushroom pasta - the mushrooms were meaty, pasta perfectly cooked, parsley was fresh and aromatic, and contrary to popular opinion, the portion size perfect (not sure if it was just this dish). However, it was a little saltier than I liked. I will say, it's nothing to write home about. Cocktail - I got the Bergamot Blush and it was delicious, strong, not too sweet, and very citrus forward. Overall, I think the food here is unnecessarily overpriced. While I would not come back here for the food, I might return for a cocktail in 3 years when I can finally get another reservation. read more
Some of the best Italian food I had in Boston, probably top 5. Tonino really blew my mind and every dish was so flavorful, tasty, and cooked perfectly. The place is small and intimate so I would recommend reservations. It has a really nice neighborhood restaurant feel. I got to have a slice of pepperoni and hot honey pizza, the rigatoni, cavatelli, and countneck clams. The pizza was incredible, really crispy and flavorful. The clam appetizer was also incredible - Tonino has some of the best guanciale I ever had. Whoever decided to include guanciale with the clam dish is a genius. Both pastas were incredible and it's hard to decide which one was better... so get both! read more
All the well-deserved buzz won't prepare you for how truly incredible this place is -- everything is so thoughtful, considered and delicious. I was in town for a special reunion trip with my mom and Tonino was the perfect cherry on top to make it all the more perfect a time. We couldn't believe how lucky we were to snag reservation through Resy waitlist. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful -- it's such a skill to make everyone feel included, valued and appreciated, especially when it's a packed house on a busy weekend night. Our server offered to put together a pizza bianca dip sampler for us because we couldn't pick just one dip, and someone offered us drink menu/wine list while we sat waiting for our table to be ready, which was so dang thoughtful and really sweet. The taleggio cappelleti with aged Balsamic was everything I dreamed of -- and salivated over -- and more, my only regret is not having a bigger stomach to eat more after finishing that and our appetizer as my mom's dish, the cavatelli with broccoli rabe, pecorino and Italian sausage was incredible too and desserts sound amazing :) The eggplant caponata, ricotta with hot honey and stracciatella with whipped 'nduja, Calabrian chili and basil dips are all individually worthy of writing home about, we literally licked our plates clean. Can't wait to make it back and save room for dessert, fingers crossed we make it back up to Boston soon.
