My wife took my daughters car in for service. Both headlights were out on a 2019 Traverse. She was quoted a price of approximately $2,100 dollars by the service manager. She was shocked at the price and asked why so high. She was told they have to take the bumper off to get to the lights and the install would take four-man hours at $195 dollars an hour. She was upset, but knew she had to get our daughters headlights fixed. This is my proud part, she took her phone and got on YouTube and found out how to change both headlights in 40 minutes. She showed the manager and got no response. The amount of the actual bill was $1,500 dollars. They still charged approximately two-man hours for the change. She expressed the desire to have the ability to check the cost of the headlights. Once again, no comment. The moral of the story is that everything is on YouTube. I don't think she will be going back to Davis Chevrolet. I am going to start letting her take my car to the shop. I am far too trusting. The second moral is to push back if you feel it is to high. Was told payment estimate with $3,000 down would be $757 per month for new 2019 TAHOE so believing this looked legit I went on in and let them run my credit to "shop around" for a deal...show up and the "terms" are now $878 per month with $3,000 down so $121 more per month over the life of the estimated loan for the same vehicle meaning an additional proposed cost of $8712....typical scam bait and switch...promise fake numbers then when you show up how to razzle dazzle you into making a dumb deal. this entire process took entirely too long, and Neal (my advisor) had no concern for my time.. Neal informed me that my battery most likely needed to be replaced and then insisted that I have a diagnostic test completed... I informed him that I did not want to have the battery replaced for the outrageous price of $330+ I requested the shuttle service to pick me up from where they dropped me off at.. Neal said he would call the shuttle and let them know & call me back, an hour later I still had not been picked up or heard from Neal.. I called the dealership and he stated he was waiting for them to complete my paperwork before calling the shuttle driver.. I do not understand why I could not just be on my way back to the dealership while he waited for the paperwork.. there shouldn't have been much paperwork since I had not work done. ALSO when I arrived I went the o Neal's office where he was on the phone... I stood there waiting, listening to him talk on the phone for about 5 mins when he then informed me the paperwork was incorrect! they charged me for service and a battery so Neal had Justin correct the paperwork.. Justin was quick he returned the paper to Neal who was still on the phone.. eventually Justin came back and told me he would check me out. Using good customer service skills he asked how everything went & I told him.. he was nice enough and cared about my experience so he told me I did not have to pay for the diagnostic.. Dan is very rude and will not call you back about your vehicle he takes weeks and we had to go up there to get ahold of DAN about our car . They will have you up there for 6 months and your car still won't get fixed . DAN the manger AND CHUCK the guy who supposedly does the authorization there after didn't even know what was going and didn't authorize anything that was done to our vehicle . The service manger doesn't know anything about our car but it's been up there since January we've non stop been back and forth to this dealer ship with no answers and I also have a voice recording of them confirming they didn't know what was going on and CHUCK confirmed how he didn't authorize anything that was done to the car . We told DAN that we are pressing the issue if he doesn't give our refund back we're taking him and the whole business to court . I once had an issue about Scheduled appointments but that has since been resolved. The last four times I have been there, my appointment time has been honored and the Service was professional and timely. This place clearly doesn't care about safety. My wife's care was part of the GM recalle (because the ignition could turn off while driving) so I called about getting it fixed and they told me it would be a month and a half until they could get the part. I called back two months later after not hearing from them and was disconnected once and tossed to three different departments who all told me they don't have my information on file. I told the last service person that the care sometimes wouldn't even start. I asked if they could call another store to see if they had the part, to which he said no, indicating that if they couldn't perform the service they wouldn't help me. Alright, for y'all that haven't been in Houston a very long time, Davis Chevrolet has been around since I was a kid! I've had several of my friends parents buy cars from this place when it used to be on Old Spanish Trail in Houston. Back then it was known as Chuck Davis Chevrolet! It was passed on to the son, and now it's in the hands of the grandson!!! It's truly a family tradition that's been around for over fifty years! Although in a different location, they still have the same atmosphere of doing business the old way, the customer comes first and they will bend over backwards to get you in the vehicle of your dreams! I was searching for a new truck and was put in touch with George, the internet manager. George let me know what he had on the lot and I found out he had exactly what I wanted!!! I was going to check out what Ford had, and what Toyota offered. George invited me down to take a look at a truck he though I might be interested in. Although I was just going to look at it and also look at the others. I took it on a test drive and couldn't believe how it drive and also how much it had to offer!!!! George also informed me of how many discounts Chevrolet was offering at the time and I was really impressed!!! Around $8,000 off the msrp!!! With an additional $1,000 off if I financed through GMAC! Needless to say, I didn't make it to look at the others, and bought this one on the spot when I wasn't planning on doing so! I had spoke with him multiple times the day before to get additional information about the vehicle and try and get an "out the door" price. I brought my truck in for a diagnostic and they ran diagnostic and proceeded to quote me for parts that upon doing my own research are marked up 2 to 3 times the cost for OEM parts which are available anywhere. No thank you! For what I was quote in labor and parts to fix 2 issues I can pay my local mechanic to fix all 13 issues, I can buy the parts and still have change left over at the end of the day. I'm not sending any of my fellow Chevy owners there for that. I do appreciate them supplying me with the part numbers so I can do my own research. I don't understand why I take my car to Davis with several issues for them to address, but instead they look for other issues to sell me on, like tires that they don't have in stock. The issues that were critical to my car's operation were left for another day, pls reschedule. The one issue that did get resolved ended up being a haggle over the pricing to replace a battery ... $450?? This is a GM part, not a Jaguar or a Volvo. As it turned out, the battery itself is $165 at another dealership, Davis' labor is $60. But the new service rep didn't know about Davis' labor and the dealership did not want to come off it's inflated price for the battery, or at least the service directorscooted out of the office until Monday without returning my call to discuss the pricing discrepancy. Cute!! I am chalking up the discrepancy to Davis' convenient location, but their service tactics are NOT very kosher.... just so you know,,, BEWARE,,, check over at Lone Star for the real prices,, if you are located in the 290 area. read more

Avoid the service center if possible. I've been to Davis Chevrolet twice. The first time was an urgent repair, so I went with their recommendations. The second time wasn't as urgent, so, after looking at the estimate, I took my vehicle elsewhere. Both times, the customer service was poor. The timing estimates were off and communication with the service center was unproductive. Especially frustrating was their inability to answer questions related to the estimate--they offered to ask their technicians the questions, but it took a couple hours to get those questions resolved. Expect to pay much more than independent mechanic per labor hour as well. read more

I had deleted an old low-star review with the intention of giving them a second chance but was once again disappointed. My car developed a leak over the Christmas/ New Year holidays. The leak stain was positioned on the passenger side of the engine. I suspected the water pump which has a recall. I took my car in for an oil change on the morning of January 2nd and asked them to check out the leak. I didn't hear from them until the next day. Once I did receive a call I was told that the leak was coming from the radiator and was quoted just over $700. I asked "are you sure it's not the water pump?" They said it was just the radiator. I did not agree with the diagnosis and decided to go and see for myself. I get there; they jack up the car and show me a small drip on the bottom passenger side of the radiator completely ignoring the obviously saturated oil pan that sits beneath the water pump. They said that they found the leak after pressurizing the coolant system. I go back and forth with the techs. I described to them the position of the leak on my driveway in comparison to the car. They refused to acknowledge that the water pump may be the cause of the leak; probably because it would've meant a free of charge replacement. They ultimately conceded and agreed to change the water pump as well. I authorized them to change the water pump but not the radiator. I get a call Thursday that the car is ready to be picked up. At this point I'm harboring a flu virus but still manage to go pick it up. I was only charged for the oil change. I pick up the vehicle, turn it on and see that the engine light is on. At this point I was too tired to argue so I just left. The car now drives noticeably sluggish. Looking back; I should've gone back to the service desk and complained about the check engine light but the whole experience has just left me with a feeling of distrust towards this establishment. I don't know if I can trust the service department with my vehicle anymore. I'll probably have to find someone else to service my vehicle from now on. read more

I had some issue's with Davis Chevrolet I had issues with one sales man calling me back to back while I was at work. I had issue with I would tell him one thing and he would talk over me and do something else. I would try to explain something and he would not listen. I felt he wasn't caring about my wants and needs he was more worried about completing a sale then getting the correct information. When I proceeded to clear things up on the mistakes he made as far as my residential and relocation issues he did not listen to me. I came in Davis Chevrolet told them my situation and I felt I was not treated correctly with this salesman. Then he proceeded to call me while I was at work over and over. I told him I am at work and can't talk and he still continued to call me. I asked him to please don't call me during work hours and once again he didn't listen. I felt that he was disrespectful and rude and the fact he was trying to clear up his mistakes and the lies he told to get the deal approve I shouldn't been harassed on my job like that. Call someone once and wait for them to call you back and leave a message. Don't keep calling and calling that is not necessary. Then he proceeded to tell me my loan was approved and then call me three days later after taking my money and me signing the contract and tell me my loan wasn't fully approved when it was. I proceeded to call the bank that approved me and they said my loan was approved so I was a bit confused. It caused anxiety and worry through this whole process. I am a cancer patient and my wife hear my frustration and upset in my voice she will step in and that's what she did. Because any kind of stress could make my treatment and my healing process slow down. My wife loves me and she was trying to protect and I agree how she stood up for me. My wife went up there to take the necessary paperwork up there that they requested and she was completely ignored by that sales man. They called him to the front and he saw her and never came to the front. How would that make you feel being ignored when your just trying to handle business. It is a proper way to conduct business and this whole situation was very unethical and wrong. Then I was asked to bring my marriage certificate and proof we just bought a house, I never in my life had to do that. Cause I feel if we were a straight couple this would of never happen. Also and the fact that we where women was another reason we where treated unfairly. Then I was told my sun roof didn't work and it would be fix before I drove off it didn't happen. I felt that was very wrong. To end this situation the whole time I was in Davis this other salesman was constantly walking by and winking at me and trying to get my number. He even went to other office look the glass trying to talk to me right in front of my wife very disrespectful. He tried approaching me and he saw the ring on my finger. I felt like a piece of meat very uncomfortable in there. I didn't want to go back in there with out my wife cause he made me very nervous. So because of this I had a horrible experience at Davis Chevrolet. But not everyone in there is bad but a few bad sales people can make your whole business look bad. I would not refer anyone to that salesman because of the bad experience I had. My wife's name might not be on the vehicle but it's just like her vehicle cause we do everything as one. I went in for a state inspection and oil change (which includes tire rotation and tire pressure check) and I got 2/4 which is not bad. I can't complain about the service manager because he has been very helpful but the guys doing my oil change did not take the time to look for my tire key which was on my driver door like I instructed when I first walked in but no one bothered to look under a napkin cause that's where it was. Had to stop on my way home to get air in my tires on my own and a tire shop is charging be $25 to rotate tires when I shouldn't have to be spending more money then I already have earlier today. Bought my car from this dealership with no problem. I get my first oil change 3 weeks later the car says add oil while my app says 85%oil life. Please note I went on vacation for a week and a half right after getting an oil changed. Brought my car to get looked at and had to practically beg the service guy to check my oil. No oil in the car. Not only that. I get my tire serviced a week prior, the next day my frame on the side the tire was serviced shifted and caused my door to rub. I would not trust this place with my car. After a GM recall was issued on my car. I wanted to take my car to Davis Chevrolet on South Loop in Houston. I went online to schedule an appointment, which seemed pretty straightforward. I specifically said that my appointment was for a factory recall. I had to wait several days to even get an appointment, which someone specifically called me to confirm the day before. We once again discussed the reason for the appointment. When I arrived the day of my appointment, they had no record of me even having an appointment and I had to go through a 20 min registration/check-in where someone had to gather all my information AGAIN to set me up as a customer. Once this was done, I went into the waiting room for them to service my car only to be told 10 minutes later that they didn't have the part that was needed for the factory recall and that they had to order it which would take about 5 days. 2 things bothered me about this. First, how does a GM/Chevrolet service department not have parts for a GM/Chevrolet factory recall on a GM/Chevrolet vehicle? It's like going to Pizza Hut after them telling me they had a recall on pizza crust due to contamination and them telling me, sorry we don't have any replacement pizza crust... WTH. Second, It was confirmed not once, not twice, but 3 times that I was coming in due to a factory recall on my vehicle. They had my VIN number and everything. Why schedule the appointment if you didn't have the part for the recall? Based on my VIN they should have know exactly what recall was in place and the parts needed for it. Such a waste of time. So they tell me that they ordered the part and would call me when it got in. To top it all off, the next day, I get an email telling me that I missed my appointment and that I should call the service department. I spoke to Justin and vented my frustrations with their inefficiencies to which he assured me that everything would be ok and that I would get a call to come back in about 5 days. It is now 2 weeks later and still no call that the part came in. So I decided to call today only to be told "oh, that part came in last Friday, I guess no one called you." SMH...Really?? I wouldn't trust these guys to put gas in my car let alone repair something as critical as a factory recall. read more

Purchased a used 2015 Corvette only to find out that GM had blocked the warranty. This is because the car's history (not Carfax) that it was from Spring Mountain Motorsports in Nevada. All the documents for service and repair were tucked in the spare compartment. It was implied that the car still had the powertrain warranty and it would expire in May. None of the history was communicated to us. Brought the car home and did not get to drive until the following weekend only to find that darted to the right, scary. Schedule service at a local Chevrolet Dealership. the dealer indicated that the rear of the car was completely out of alignment and that was why the tire was nearly bald. I worked with George the internet sales manager. It costs $1600.00 to get the car to a safe driving condition. I reached out to George via text, email and voice and left a message with sales manager. No one returned my call. Is this the type of dealership that can be trusted to be honest? Stay away! read more
