We had a family get-together in & around Davis for the UC graduation weekend in mid-June. On…read moreSunday morning we met to have brunch in the area adjacent to the park where the craft & vintage fair was happening. After we ate and the group split off into a couple of directions, some of us went over to check out the event. It was getting to the main heat of the day, so staying in the shade as much as possible was a priority. There was a nice variety of vendors with different kinds of mostly handmade items. From beautiful jewelry to clothing, to crafty decor pieces, woodwork, suncatchers, and much more. It was a bit too hot for me to have full enthusiasm for shopping. I ended up find a spot to sit and people watch while Dear Hubby and our nieces were browsing. I was waiting on a musical group to get organized after a break to start playing. They were the main reason that I took off a star. It took them a very long time to start performing. That, and the heat - it didn't feel as fun and festive as I might have expected. That being said, I would definitely consider returning the next time we're in the area. There is a fair amount of free parking adjacent to the fair area of the park. I see from their website that they typically provide the event two Sundays a month throughout most of the year. That's a nice community offering on a regular basis. Overall, prices seemed fair and the vendors were very friendly.

I'm so glad we ended up going, there were so many amazing stalls and products being sold. There was jewelry, hair accessories, scarves, baby toys, skincare, candles, a vintage clothing store, wood carved goods, wood notebooks, and more. I ended up purchasing jiggling scent bubbles from K and D Kreations and a vanilla scented sugar scrub from a goat milk skincare stall. I also spotted a hand knit and crocheted stall that took custom orders, I took note of it for the future! There's food trucks selling handmade pies, a lemonade stand, coffee, and Hawaiian shaved ice. The live music is really relaxing. This is definitely worth a visit if you're in the area- and if you're not, no worries! I spoke with many of the vendors and they were very friendly and let me know that they tend to sell their goods at the farmers market in West Sacramento and other neighboring areas.

We found a little bag of carrots and some Mandarins to bring. I pre pealed the mandarins before the party so they were easy to much on and it was a success. We also got some kiwis. I belive it was a bag of 6 for $0.99. A great deal for kiwis. Last time I got them and saved them in the fridge and they lasted a week. These are a bit soft so hopefully they will last just as long. We also got a head of Lettuce for under $2 which is a good deal. It's nice and fresh, we got iceberg this time and it was a big head. Last time we got green leaf and the time before that we got the red leaf. All very fresh. Parking was easy. When we arrived maybe when we got there we saw 5 cars in the parking lot so we got a space right up front. When we left it over doubled, it was still easy to get out. Traffic flows well. Bathrooms were well stocked and clean. It's always a must stop on our journey. Pedrick Produce is the place to stop for produce and dry goods.

It's a little on the pricey side, but definitely worth a stop to stretch your legs and grab a quick bite before jumping back on the road for the rest of a long drive. And as a bonus, they've got a great collection of hot sauces. BB
