I was on my way home from the bay and needed to make a pit stop. Get out stretch, bathroom and a little shopping to get me though the rest of the trip. This was actually my 2nd stop of the trip. The first stop was in Fairfield at Lowes. Another solid stop. As I was driving to Pedrick I made a mental note to myself of what I could get that was useful. I wrote on my list onions as they are only 89 cents for the yellow ones and a great deal. Also on the list were their pork tamales for a quick lunch when I got back. As it turns out when I got home my husband thought the same thing and stopped at McDonalds and got me a fish sandwich so I wan't wanting for food when I got home. Good thing we now have tamales ($2.89 each) for dinner. That's one less meal I have to plan. Lastly the most tasty and pricy purchase was going to be fresh strawberries. I got 3 baskets for $9.99 or close to that. I had some when I got home and they are more tasty than the ones in the grocery store. Though they aren't as good as the ones at the woodland Strawberry festival. Maybe I'm buying them off season. I was here July 15, 2026 around 12:30pm. On my way out I noticed the half price items on the cart out front. Lots of items were 99 cents or half off. You're not sure of the regular price so I wasn't sure if it would still be a good deal or not as could we actually eat that much. I picked up a bag of 2 heads/stalks of broccoli and a bag of zucchini, maybe 7 in the bag. I first took my haul to the car before checking out again. As it turns out the Broccoli and Zucchini were under $2 together. What a deal. The Tamales have gotten better. They have a new supplier and now there is less masa and more filling. They started off good, then they went really went down hill fast. They were all masa and little filling. It was really bad and we stopped buying them. We I saw they were packaged differently I inquired if they had a new supplier and the said yes, someone more local, I forgot exactly where they said they were from. We gave these new tamales a try and were happily surprised. The price over the years has really gone up in price too. The bathrooms are a great relief. This is a perfect stop for us on our way to and from the bay. They have 2 plumbed bathrooms and 2 outhouses. I had to use the outhouse last time as we got there before they opened and they were still cleaning the bathrooms after they opened. It wasn't that bad. The cleaning truck was just pulling away when I used the port o potty so I wasn't the first user after they cleaned it. I am just thankful that they have bathrooms and you don't have to make a purchase to use them. Tortillas are the best here. They are locally made and we love them. So much better than ones they sell at Raley's. Even though they are homemade they still last a while without going moldy. We've never had them mold on us. With the great deals on produce, great tortillas, and the bathroom situation we will continue to make this our stop. Between the two of us we are here nearly every week so we are always well stocked in produce and tortillas. read more

I will always love Pedrick's for a few reasons that aren't just about the high quality produce they sell or the incredible collection of hot sauces that they sell or the really good tamales they sell there as well. Those are all very valid reasons to love this place alone,but for me this place has a few sentimental reasons that I enjoy them and value them so much. One I remember when my children were quite young and they would stay at their grandmothers in the Bay Area for days at a time and when we did the kid exchange it was always done at the Pedricks parking lot and then the kids and I would walk into the market and they would each pick out a treat-I cherish those memories. The other thing I think about Pedrick is way back when,during the time when the Covid-Era lockdown was coming to an end,I remember the 1st day they told us we could begin going outside again,the very 1st place the wifey and I drove to was Pedricks. We jumped in the car in Natomas and beelined straight for some fresh fruit and veggies and whatever other treats we could find that day at Pedricks.It was such a joy to see them open and fully stocked that day,I might as well have been going to Disneyland,we were so happy to see people again. Fast forward to today and I find myself going here about once a month,whenever I'm either driving to or from the Bay Area usually visiting relatives. It's a great spot to pick up the freshest and tastiest fruits and veggies to bring to events. I am also a certified ChiliHead,so their vast collection of hot sauces is unmatched in the area-a true must stop spot for anyone who considers themselves a hot sauce connoisseur. Yep other things that really stand out at Pedricks is their wide variety of fresh nuts available for purchase-they truly have so many varieties and flavors at pretty decent pricing. I also really enjoy their candy selection,I truly need to use extreme discipline when I gaze upon their candy offerings as they have so much and as much of a sweet tooth as I have,I have to learn often to just say no and walk away-I'm glad it's here though. In closing,In case it's not obvious,I really truly do recommend Pedricks as it's a great market offering some of the best fruits and veggies in the area,along with so much more. It's our regular stopping ground when driving back from Sacramento. I can't count the number of times I've been in here. It's just the place to go to get your produce on. Sometimes the discount racks out front have the best deals and sometimes you miss them. Definitely a unique roadside attraction and produce store right off the 80 in Dixon. Fruit yogurt covered pretzels, nuts, the Wall of Chocolate as well as the Wall of Flame. Local produce, as well as other produce (yes, we're in an agricultural mecca, but no one grows bananas here). Ranchers and field workers fill the aisles under some dreadful twangy countryfide muzak and stock up on agricultural treasures and hand made candies off surging I-80 and dreary flat landscapes. This place is choc full of nuts, dates, fruits, vegetables as well as numerous items for the pantry. If your into collection different kinds of hot sauce, there is a wall full of bottles of hot sauce, BBQ sauce, marinades etc. They also have a small selection of wines. Friendly staff, always with three registers open during the rush hours. The lines move fast even when they are crowded. I love the fact that everything is fresh, I come for the bags of fresh cherries and cashews salted and unsalted. Located off I-80, I was surprised at how many other motorists had decided to exit this small off-ramp in order to also visit this store. The parking lot was PACKED!! It is a small road side market offering so many types of fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, beverages, spices and several other items. The also offer hot tamales and street corn which I had kind if each and they were both DELICIOUS!!! We had some spare time and saw all the signs from the highway I thought we should check it out. There's a lot of open farmland around Fairfield and figured everything they sold in the market was fresh from their farm, but when I asked the salesclerk, he said it was not. Some items are shipped in. The cost of the produce is about the same as what you would get at your regular grocery store. However, they had different items and of course it's limited. They sold fresh tamales, which made it a little different. They also sold ice cream from Fenton's. The girls chose pumpkin flavor because it was seasonal, they thoroughly enjoyed it. Unlike most people I was not super impressed with this place but I wanted to give it a try since I've heard so much about it. There is a wide selection of produce and other things like seasoning and sauces that may not be sold in stores. The place itself is pretty small. Prices were pretty similar to Fri try store prices or higher. I really wanted to try a yellow watermelon and it cost $11 dollars which I thought was insane. ***TAMALES FANS BEWARE!!!*** Have been buying tamales from Pedricks for several years now... Purchased 5 "Chile con queso" yesterday.... And couldn't believe how Pedricks would change their tamales quality from 10 to a -1 or below... Not sure if they have a new manufacturer... the "chile con queso" tamales, didn't had no cheese, a soggy piece of chile and HALF of the size from the ones that they used to make... and on top, now they have this piece of wax paper wrapping a solo corn wrap...just to make it more soggy?!? Next time I will just go across the freeway and try their tamales.... ANYTHING will be better than the sorry tamales they are selling now at their store....
