Great Wolf Lodge is an indoor water park, currently at 20 locations. It was founded in 1997 and was called Black Wolf Lodge. The indoor water park is 50,000 square feet and the temperature year round is kept at 84 degrees. Parking was spacious. We went during the fall so the temperature outside was chilly. We stayed there for a night. Days passes are offered. The rooms were standard hotel rooms. There's a towel attendant. The indoor water park was large and fun. Theres a wading pool and a bunch of slides and playscapes. I really enjoyed the wave pool. There were tables around the perimeter. They kept the pool area warm but as a Floridian, I still felt chilly. The hallway out to the arcade area was super cold. There was a climbing playscape. For food, there were restaurants and a Dunkin. Overall, a fun place if you have little ones.

We recently spent the weekend here, as a few friends with no children. You can definitely tell that it is a more children oriented environment, and they do a lot of fun events for kids! Pros: -All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly. -Can get decent deals on the rooms when using coupons! (Would definitely recommend) -Water park access is included in the price of the room and you can utilize the water park at any time during, before and after your stay on your dates booked. -arcade is open 24/7 Cons: -the pizza here is TERRIBLE, thankfully we got it for free in the birthday package. -food is INCREDIBLY over priced, I didn't get the dining credits but I would recommend this especially for larger groups. -fridge in our room didn't work very well, and was lukewarm at best -beds were stiff, and air conditioner barely worked making for a rough nights sleep. -line to the elevators will almost always take you 10-15 minutes to get where you're going. I would definitely recommend coming here in the off season, or on a weekday, so you can actually enjoy all this place has to offer, weekends are extremely packed!

This was my first time visiting. Wow, a lot to see and do! We had an overnight and were very happy with the room except the bed. The bed was awful uncomfortable for all of us, 3 people. Otherwise loved that a small refrigerator was included. Plenty of towels, clean room and great water pressure in the shower. Any people that I chatted with that worked there were very nice and helpful. I personally do not like this "cashless" society we are becoming and found that annoying. But really our stay was nice. Pools were clean, plentiful attention from workers. We stayed on a Tuesday/Wednesday and according to my daughter who's stayed before, THAT is the way to go. Keep that in mind.

What is open at the water park as of right now?

Can you bring pets for example little one like cats?

    They are a pet-free facility.

Do they give you free life jackets for your child at a request?

Life Jackets are available to borrow for free and hanging on racks in both water areas for use by toddlers and young children.

On a Thursday is it necessary to get a cabana if you have 12 people?

Cabanas are expensive and it can fit a bunch of people BUT-- They are hard to get and you need vip

Do all adults need bathing suits or is there an area to hang out clothed and watch?

No you do not need a bathing suit. Both areas have a tables and chairs to sit at.

Would this be notable for 16, 12 and 10 yr old?

I would say absolutely. There's a bunch of things to do. I recommend only one night stays though, as you should be able to tackle it all if your there nice and early and spend the entire day and night. There's an arcade, mini golf, rock wall, duck…

Is there an outdoor pool at this location? Possibly for teens or for even just tanning?

    Nope. Everything is indoors!

Where can I get season ears? Like the Easter ones should already be out now but I can't get an answer from anybody! Please help- I'll pay extra!

The front desk hands out the ears. They only had basic ones today and Easter is this Sunday.

So i know there's like 2 water parks here, i was just curious if you stay over night in the hotel, can you use both sides of the water park?

    Yes you can!

What is GWL's policy on bringing in outside food and drinks for the kids? Can I bring a cooler with snacks to the pool or do I have to buy the food there?

I usually see most people bringing in coolers in their rooms but often see people eating packed lunches in the pool area so I'm not completely sure. We are checking out today (3/12/19) and we brought a ton of snacks. They were mostly for our hotel…

If we purchase the dinning package and get the $50 total credit , can that be used on ANY food purchased at the resort? Can the credit be used On alcohol?

Yes, it can be used on any food aside from gift shop and vending machine. Alcohol does count. Not sure why this other answer said differently.

Multiple water slides,…read morewater play area, hot tub and lazy river were all open the day we went over February vacation 2020. We arrived right when it opened at 10 am. Upon entering the water park, people rushed in and quickly found a table to drop their bags and towels at and "claim" as their own. Though the tables filled up fast, they do have a lot of seating. They have lockers if you'd rather lock up your valuables. They also offer cabanas for more private seating. When we went, we booked a 6 person Cabana for the day. This was an extra cost, but it worked well since we had 5 kids with us. The Cabana had a TV in it, which I think could work well if you have a group of varying ages (i.e. little kids and older kids, grandparents, etc.) Overall, the attractions were clean and the water was not cold. The indoor temperature was about 80 degrees so it was comfortable to walk around in your bathing suit. But it's important to note that the bathrooms get very dirty as the day goes on. Wet feet, poor hygiene and lack of flushing can really leave the bathrooms in a gross condition. They were clean at 10 am, but by 4 pm - ewww. The paper towel dispensers were also broken. The hot tub, which is supposed to be only for adults, constantly had kids in it. I would have liked to see the staff monitor this area better. It definitely took away from the enjoyment of it. The website says you can't bring food in, but that's not accurate. They do not check bags and many people brought in sandwiches, snacks, drinks, etc. I wish they made that more clear on their website. If you do buy lunch or snacks there, they were fairly priced but the line is long. We got french fries, chicken and pizza. They did also have some healthier options as well (salads, sandwiches, yogurt, etc.). They also have a bar with some mixed drink options and beer, wine and hard seltzer. Good for adults but it is expensive. Overall, great experience and would go again.

Expect a day trip for 2 to be over $100 for tickets alone. Food and drink in the park is pricey, like you would expect for an amusement park. The great thing about Funtown is that you are fully able to bring in your own food. My family opted for the annual season pass, as we come multiple times a season. If you plan to attend more than once, I highly recommend going the pass route. It pays for itself after 2-3 trips. Does it need updating? Sure, but honestly, it's part of the charm. We went on a Wednesday at the end of June and it was not crowded at all. My kids had a blast! Right when the park opened we headed to Excalibur and rode it about 4 times to start off the morning. Everyone was so excited to ride it that many times. It's a wooden roller coaster that is a lot of fun. I highly recommend it. We hit all the Funtown rides multiple times. They loved the bumper cars, the vintage car track, the wild mouse, thunder falls log flume (which gets a little bumpy, but it cools you down on that drop), Atmosphere (which is an indoor Sizzler type ride with music and animations, that is the weirdest thing I think I've even seen in my life), and especially Whispering Pines Haunted Hotel. That last one is a dark ride where you have to save people from ghosts. You get a laser type gun to shoot at the targets and keep your score. I'm not sure how accurate they really were, but it was fun none the less. After a pretty "meh" lunch, we headed to the Splashtown area. They have a few water slides, a pool for the kids to swim in, and a little splash pad. The water slides were fun, until I bonked my head goind down Amphitrite's Challenge. You go down head first on a mat and for some reason on one of the turns my head didn't follow along. It hurt pretty bad, and I had one of the EMT's on staff help me out. He was very very nice and gave me an ice pack. I appreciated his kindness as I felt so silly after the event. Overall, we had a fun day exploring Funtown Splashtown USA. If you are looking for something to entertain the kiddos for the day, this is definitely a nice option.

The best time to go is right when they open, or a little bit before closing. The ticket pricing is decent , not much more or less than other water parks I have been to. They have nearby restaurants too if you want to go out to eat after. I definitely recommend water shoes because the ground and stairs get hot, especially when you are waiting in the lines. It also took me about three hours to get there, so expectations were definitely higher going in. The first thing that stood out was how unorganized the entry process was. The line to get into the park was insanely long and honestly one of the most chaotic lines I've ever seen. That said, we still managed to get in at a reasonable time. Once inside, it was a mixed experience. The lazy river was extremely crowded, especially at the entrance, which made it hard to relax. On the plus side, the wave pool was actually really nice. The waves felt more realistic than most water parks, which I appreciated. Food prices were about what you'd expect, maybe a little on the higher side, but nothing outrageous for a water park. As for the slides, they felt a bit rough and slightly sketchy at times. I get that part of it is the thrill, but some rides, especially Devil's Peak, were pretty uncomfortable. I ended up with a few rub burns and scratches, which wasn't ideal. Overall, I did have fun because at the end of the day it is still a water park. But the park could really benefit from better organization and layout. It felt a bit all over the place, and with some improvements it could be a much better experience

However, our experience with the Kids Club has been extremely disappointing. About a year and a half ago, my son had an incident where a staff member teased him. He reacted in a playful but inappropriate way, and as a result, he was suspended for a week. At the time, he was also dealing with a serious medical condition that was affecting him neurologically, which we later came to understand may have influenced his behavior. Out of caution, he did not return to Kids Club after that incident. Now that he is doing much better, and I have returned to full-time work, I recently attempted to bring him back--only to be told that he is permanently banned. The reason given was a Facebook comment I had made at the time describing our experience. I made multiple attempts to have a calm, reasonable conversation with staff to revisit the situation, especially given the time that has passed and my son's improved health. Unfortunately, there was no willingness to reconsider. This puts us in a very difficult position. As a working parent, I rely on the Kids Club in order to use the gym. Without access to childcare, we are now faced with canceling a membership we've maintained for years--not because we want to, but because we no longer have a way to utilize the facility. What's most concerning is the lack of empathy and accountability in how this situation has been handled. I sincerely hope the club takes a closer look at how interactions with children are managed, and how situations like this are resolved, so that other families don't have a similar experience.

White Christmas tree is in the corner of the area. If you don't mind not being in a real gingerbread house, go for it. The service was amazing and the food was very good. The fries were cruchy and the burger was solid. I guess I was just disappoined about the ordinary look of this area, so I am knocking off a star. They played religious Christmas music about Jesus, not the ordinary Jingle Bells which added a solomn mood rather then festive. Everything else was great. $7.50 beer, $14 burger, $10 per party fee for dinning in the "house", which goes to charity. A little too big inside the area to be cozy for a smaller party, but good for a larger family (seats 8-10). (No special guests showed up. No wolf, no Santa...A pretty ordinary experience overall.
