We, as retirees, only use the excellent BX pharmacy. Otherwise we use private healthcare providers in Tucson.

From the nurses to the doctors, they all care about people and being a safe and welcoming place to be treated. The wait to be seen and treated is quick. They want you feeling better as soon as possible. I 100% recommend this place.

Did not listen or care about relevant medical history, seemed to have tunnel vision and became irritated at the patient for being low energy due to pain. We remained respectful throughout the interactions and continued to reiterate that we know it's complicated and they can't do it all, but would appreciate some guidance as young people new to the area. I am in utter disbelief at his lack of interest in providing--or even just pointing in the direction of someone who CAN provide--potentially life-saving treatment for a patient with serious internal organ problems. Very disheartening experience.

When one calls an ambulance, it usually takes you to the nearest ER. Unfortunately for my sister,…read moreshe lived closest to NWMed. She had strained her shoulder and back reaching overhead. They admitted her to the ER, then placed her in their Oncology dept. because she was six years post cancer diagnosis with no new cancer. Ten days later, she died from pneumonia and "malnutrition ". Do not take your loved one to this facility. The nurses were good. The attending MD's had zero bedside manner. I was told we had three days to move my sister to hospice or they would remove her!And after two days, while we frantically called every hospice facility on the hospital's recommended list,Dr. Fortuna and their hospice coordinator, Noreen, became rude, borderline aggressive, w/lharassing me about moving to hospice. The last week of my sister's life had little dignity. It was unnecessarily stressful.A minor observation: their bed linens were ripped and disgusting. And no one should encourage a dying woman to get some rest while leaving a bright fluorescent light on her face!

Who had been sitting there the entire time! Calling it Poor care quality is being polite. I was there almost two hours and we left because they would not say if it would be 10 minutes or 3 hours. But No one was being seen except the 96 year old who threatened to leave. Went home called an ambulance. They gave meds and IV bag. They took her back to this hole and they set her in the hall . We left. Don't bring a dog to this place! Special shout out to the emergency room receptionist, she certainly wasn't a nurse (no nurse would ignore two people in distress, who are writhing in pain!) . FU. And the nurse who FINALLY GOT OFF HER ASS to help the 96 year old man , hope your parents end up with a similar care giver. How do two sleep at night?

I would definitely NOT recommend this facility. The level of care was marginal at best. My husband…read moredeveloped bed sores and pneumonia twice while staying there. He was rarely cleaned, and staff were supposed to clean his mouth before meals, but that was never done unless I did it myself. If I arrived later in the morning, his meal would often be left sitting in his room with no one helping feed him. Staff were also supposed to reposition him every two hours, but that never happened. There were many times I left in the evening and returned the next morning to find him in the exact same position. The response time to call buttons was unacceptable, often taking 20 to 30 minutes. One time, his feeding tube alarm went off for almost two hours before anyone responded. At night, staff would sometimes simply turn the feeding tube off so they would not have to monitor it. Overall, the neglect and lack of proper care were extremely upsetting and deeply disappointing. I would not trust this facility with the care of a loved one.

Not the best review... most recent visit was not what I'd expected…read more ER staff less than professional. Hearing a doctor saying loudly enough for me to hear him saying, "ok, Let's try not to kill anybody tonight" to the nursing staff... well that to me was very unprofessional. It was said loud enough that I could hear him from behind the closed doors of my treatment room. I understand the "humor"... but it still seemed inappropriate to me.

I made an appointment for 10pm (FYI, don't bother with appts, they ignore them) There were perhaps two other patients. I went thru triage quickly, and was told to wait in empty hallway. In a plastic chair. I eventually went back for x-rays, and then returned to the empty hallway. About 20 minutes later, a physician (? - I dont believe he introduced himself), came out and said on initial read, he did not see a fracture, but due to the amount of pain, he wanted a more detailed look. Then I sat in that same empty hallway in that crappy plastic chair for another 45 minutes. Nothing. No "we'll be with you shortly" - NOTHING. I could hear the staff laughing and talking. I am not a "Karen," I don't complain about every little thing. EVER. But after nearly an hour, I'd finally had enough, and packed up my stuff to leave. I never raised my voice, although it was probably clear I was annoyed. Then a nurse came out, and explained to me in a VERY patronizing tone that the doctor had "other patients." I pointed out that all that was needed was for someone to just say "we know you're here," and I would've been happy to wait. That particular nurse was so condescending and rude, it was all I could do to contain my verbal response. She seriously acted like my request for very occasional updates was an outlandish request - I come from a medical family - my father was a combat medic, my husband is A RETIRED RN. I treat health care professionals like gold. But I have never been treated like this by any doctor, nurse or the guy who empties bed pans. RUDE. i do not have great insurance, that's probably a reason they just left me in the hallway. In the meantime, I cannot wear shoes, I cannot drive. And I STILL DON'T KNOW if my foot is broken. I will NEVER return to that hospital. If I'm bleeding to death, they might just leave me in the hallway.
