The workers were courteous and diligent, finishing new roof installation (including new plywood) in less than a day. Their clean-up was thorough and Mr Davis did not ask for any money until the week after the work was completed, making sure I was satisfied with the work. Just had another roof put on by Davis Roofing. First one was 27 years ago. We couldn't be happier! It was all done in one day along with the cleanup and the crew did a fabulous job!! And they made it happen before we had two weeks of rain. All of the guys on the crews were true professionals and have been with Mr. Davis for a long time. We found the Davis's to be a friendly and professional good guys...someone you could trust and that didn't change 27 years later. Ronnie Davis explained the process of replacing the entire roof as our house is 41 years old and it had developed several leaks. He got on the roof himself and inspected it. We also had new gutters, gutter guards, and downspouts installed. The gutters only took about an hour start to finish. We asked them, while they were still on the ladder, if they could fix one of shutters that had started to fall ( because it had been up there for 41 years) and they said that it was no problem. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with Mr. Davis and will happily recommend Davis Roofing to anyone who needs a new roof done by professionals. read more

We noticed a leak in the kitchen after one of the heavy rainfalls. I scheduled appointments with 3 different companies, but no one showed up or even called. I found a recommendation for Davis Roofing on my local neighborhood Facebook pag, so I gave them a call. They came out the very next day, hopped up on the roof, determined the roof was fine (whew!) but the window needed to be caulked. They took care of it and even fixed a piece of loose siding...then refused to charge me! That's amazing service, and worth Yelping about. read more

Davis Roofing replaced my roof a couple of years ago and did an amazing job! So we decided to go with some new downspouts and gutters a few days ago. Randy came out to take a look and suggested that I go with the beige gutters and downspouts versus the white ones. Unresponsive. Would like to have written a better review, but I never got the chance. Called them twice over a week's time, and they never did schedule a time to inspect a leaky roof. Perhaps they didn't want to travel to Centreville? Maybe they were just busy--I don't know. I do know that they came highly recommended, and their reviews in Washington Checkbook seem to check out; so hopefully it's just a glitch, and they'll fix whatever's wrong with their current system. Davis roofing came out to look at a leak and wrote an estimate to remove all shingles on the overhang, repair leak, install rubber ice shield and re-shingle. It took them over 4 times to fix the roof and they did not perform the work originally estimated until after the coming back multiple times. Furthermore a person related to the job continues to call me personally asking for payment for work performed under Davis Roofing . I was not home day they initially came to fix the roof and received a completed work order indicating the work was done and payment due. They left a diagram indicating they fixed the leak and performed the work of removing all shingles, adding an ice shield and re-shingled the overhang. I looked at the area and noticed it appeared to be untouched. I called Davis back immediately. They took a few days to get back to me and stated all work was done, the leak is fixed and they will come out to fix any issues in the future. A few days later we had rain and the leak continued. I call them back and they send a crew to go on the roof and repair the area again. A few days later we have another rain and the leak continues. I call Davis roofing and they send a crew back to fix the leak. A few days later we get rain and the leak continues. I talk to Bill Davis, the manager of my project and he comes back personally to assess the issue even water testing the shingles and siding but cannot reproduce the leak. He says the leak must be from the upper roof and has his crew go on the upper tier of my roof to do some repairs and says "they got it" this time. A few days later it rains and the leak happens again. I call Bill Davis and he says that the leak is not from the roof area he fixed and must be from another part of the house. He said he will send someone to investigate the issue and help me out with the closet if it is his fault. He sends John (about 1.5 months since the original repair attempt) to investigate where the leak is coming from. John spends about an hour at my house and removes the drywall ceiling in the small 2 x 3 coat closet below the overhang roof. Once the drywall is removed it is clear that the leak is coming from the roof area that was supposed to have been repaired by Davis roofing. I call Davis roofing with the findings and the next day Bill Davis and a team comes to remove the shingles, seal the leak, install an ice shield and re-shingle (The original work that was never done although documented to be complete). That evening John calls me saying that he talked to Bill Davis and was to explain I have a gutter problem and the leak will continue unless I replace the gutters. He also says I owe him $600 dollars for the work he did at my house, which I refuse. Despite my refusal John continues to call me asking for $300 for the work of removing the closet ceiling and finding the leak. At this point I am extremely concerned because John said that the leak will continue. The next day I call Bill Davis and ask if the roof is fixed and if I should be concerned. I also confront Bill about why it took them multiple times to fix the issue and why they had been dishonest about the repairs done. Bill Davis gets angry, starts cursing at me saying I don't know what I am talking about, that the issue is the gutters and the roof was never the problem. I point out to Bill that his company also does gutters and should have seen that issue (which he doesn't have an answer for). Finally Bill calms down and assures me that the last fix will fix the leak but still refuses to accept responsibility for all of the issues or compensate me for the closet damage. Because of my last conversation with Bill I am concerned that the leak wasn't fixed. I leave the closet open for a few months and after multiple heavy rains the roof area hasn't leaked again. I also get some consults on the gutters and am told that there is nothing wrong with them or their size. I then pay out of pocket to repair the closet damage but still have damaged floors. It took Davis roofing over 4 times to fix the issue due to the fact they didn't perform the work they stated in the initial estimate and in the completed work order. Furthermore I had to pay out of pocket to repair the damage to my closet. To this day I continue to get phone calls from John asking for $300 for the removal of the drywall (with threats to sue me). I have called Davis roofing multiple times asking for them to talk to John but never get a resolution. read more

We hired Davis Roofing to do a major roofing project in our neighborhood - change roofs of six townhomes. They provided the best quotes for service offered (we were not looking for the cheapest), the service was professional, the crew was pleasant to interact with and answered all questions professionally. We selected them based on past work with roofing repairs in our neighborhood and they didn't disappoint. The only area of improvement might be they are sometimes hard to reach or get response from and messages tend to get lost. read more

Had these guys come out to replace the roof on my townhouse a few years ago and the roof has been leaking recently so I thought it'd be nice to post a quick rundown of all the problems I've had since I had them replace the roof: * While working on the roof, they installed a new water gutter in a different place than the original to save time and left a long stained spot exposed where the old gutter was. I had to get them to replace the drain again and put it in the same spot the old one was to make it look ok. * There is now a clogged up vent caused by being careless and sweeping nails into it when they were working on the roof. * There was a 2 inch gap along the front of the house where the roof meets the overhang small enough for a squirrel to make a home in. When I called Davis to have that looked at, they installed 6 feet of flashing to "seal up" the hole. I didn't realize that they hadn't installed the flashing the entire length of the roof until the next summer when another squirrel made a nest in the still exposed portion. I ended up having to buy more flashing myself and borrow a friend's ladder to finish the job correctly. * During the snowstorms last year, my bedroom window started leaking and I asked Davis to come out to find out where the leak was coming from in the roof. They came out once and said they fixed the problem. It snowed the next week and the leak came back again. I called Davis and left multiple messages. They haven't returned my calls. I just had another roofing company come and take a look and they were appalled at what they saw. There are two large spots where the exterior of the roof is exposed directly to the rain. There are sections of plywood that bow under your feet when you walk on them and the joints between boards aren't aligned evenly and have gaps between them.. Overall, these guys are very shoddy at best. I wouldn't trust them to install anything on your property that needs to last more than 2 or 3 years. read more

Very positive experience with Davis Roofing. I had Davis roofing install a new roof on my house and my garage in Vienna, along with replacing some damaged plywood on the roof. I'm very happy with the workmanship and the professionalism of this company. They were very responsive when I called and promptly came out and provided me with an estimate. I received a few estimates from other companies and decided to go with Davis Roofing. When I called them they scheduled the new roof installation very quick and before I knew it there were bundles of material on my roof. The installers showed up exactly when scheduled and they removed all the old roof and cleaned the work area as they went, I was impressed. They were very efficient, it was obvious this wasn't the first roof they had done. I was so impressed with the nice new roof that I had them schedule to come out and upgrade my gutters and downspouts, I had the same professional level experience with the new custom gutters as I did with the new roof.
