I called Davis Medford 1st & asked, do you accept SC Benefit Fund insurance. My response, was, "I think we do". After asking for the agent to confirm, she came back to the phone 2 minutes later & said, "yes but I need to check your name". I had the physical vouchers & immediately drove to Davis Medford. The agent said we don't accept your insurance. I told her that I called to confirm. Then someone in the back of the store chimes in & told me that I could pay out of pocket & put in for reimbursement. Davis needs to stop being dishonest to customers & wasting their time. The doctors are amazing here but they need a bigger selection of eyeglasses, there wasnt that many options , most of the glasses are cheaply made . We were struggling to find decent ones until we finally found one but they were to small so i asked if they had them in a bigger size and all i got as an answer was the price of it no help finding something that worked for us . I usually don't write reviews unless it's positive. However, I visited this office twice leaving very upset. My first visit was for myself. It was over the summer and I was waiting to be seen for a long time. During my visit, the MD was helpful but didn't know much about materials or locations of tools due to being a float doctor and it not being his normal site. When looking for glasses, I was then told I was not eligible for new glasses; even though I know I am eligible for new glasses every year. After advocating for myself and discussing with them, I still was unable to get glasses and just purchased contacts. About a month later, I received a call from this facility apologizing that I actually was covered and eligible for glasses. If they listened to me when I spoke to them from the first time, I would have been able to have the glasses when I was eligible. Since there was a gap in when they reached out, I was no longer under that insurance and then still unable to obtain glasses. Going back months later with new insurance to obtain my glasses, they told me my new insurance wasn't found but the old insurance was??? While I just used my new insurance for another facility two days before. I finally was able to purchase new glasses months later and that receptionist was helpful. Today, my most recent visit was for my mother. We were 11 MINUTES LATE. Usual facility policy is a 15 minute grace period. The front desk receptionist said the MD needs to eat lunch and won't see us and their policy is 10 minutes grace period not 15. I understand lateness is the patient's responsibility; but a 1 minute difference should not affect my mother being seen and that 1 minute should not impact the MD's lunch. That's just ridiculous. Every single experience I had at this facility was stressful. As a healthcare professional and a patient who's been visiting optometrists since teenage years; I've never been this unhappy with a facility. read more

I called to ask if I needed an appointment to pick my new prescription glasses up, but I was told no I can just walk in. I arrived two hours before they closed and sat for about 15 minutes until the receptionist handed me my glasses. She then told me I needed to come back for an adjustment, which is extremely inconvenient to come back when it only took 5 minutes to adjust. I understand they were busy, but I already waited 15 minutes. I wasn't able to go for a few days later to get an adjustment because of my schedule, and that whole time I couldn't wear my new prescription because they did not fit correctly on my face. Extremely frustrating. Other then that the optometrist is very good and friendly at the Medford location. read more

Can I give 0 stars? Every time I come here it is for at least 2 hours. And most of that time is sitting and waiting, not being helped. You go back hoping maybe it was just a bad day. Nope. Every. Single. Time. Another patient I was waiting with had the SAME complaint. Will not return. Front desk staff rude. The doctor I saw wasn't bad. Valerie, who helped me check out, apologized for the waiting. But only after I made loud complaints. Ok I will not be coming back to Visonworks again. Took forever to get an appointment and they do not open in Sunday's. The BOGO deal is a complete joke. Spent out of pocket $1000 for 4 pair of glasses for myself and my wife. And trust me we are not wearing Fendi & Gucci Frames. Eye exam , fitting and delivery of the glasses was above average. Now what pissed me off the most is when we received our glasses they did not come with any cleaning clothes in them. When I went back I was told that the manufactures do not include them in the cases. And charged me $9 for a cleaning kit. First of all who doesn't include cleaning clothes. Second I did not buy them from the manufacturer I bought them from Vision works. I know this might sound petty but you do not live with my wife. She wanted to go to Sam's Club for glasses and I chose Vision. So the saying is true " a happy wife makes for a happy life". Every time she reads through dirty glasses my life is not very happy . Went to pick up my glasses, waited in line for abt 10 minutes, no one at counter and none of the workers ask if I need help or to say someone will be with you. So I left. This place has gone way downhill since it went from Davis Vision to vision works. Staff is disorganized, appts get canceled and the rescheduled with a "tele health" portion of the appt added on without permission. Location had no trial contacts, told me I would have to come back to pick up trials then come back an additional time for the doctor to see the contacts on my eyes before relasing my prescription...meanwhile I've been wearing the same brand/type for 12 years. If I could give zero stars I would . This place is way understaffed and unorganized . They had the wrong insurance information for me. Couldn't find my new insurance . Said it would take forever to find . Sooooo I called and got my insurance ID number for them . Then , they said they still didn't see me in the system . 40 minutes later they were able to figure it out . I waited for over 2 hours . Asked what my allowance was and they had no idea . Ended up just taking my scripts and ordering glasses from warby Parker which cost me only $30, and 1800 contacts . Took me 10 minutes to order both . Never ever go here please. Went here with my wife about 3 years ago and between the waiting times, the quality of the glasses and the push push to try and upsell us designer frames NOT covered by our insurance we decided to forget this place forever. I went out of my way to call them on the phone and ask for a Supervisor and give them an ear full -- Never Again ! The really funny part of it is -- every year around our birthday's they send us a Happy Birthday Advertisement in the hopes I suppose we've suddenly forgotten the Poor & Incompetent Treatment. This was the most horrible experience in eyecare I have ever received. I give this location -10 stars. I had a 12:40 PM appointment. After waiting an entire hour past my appointment I was told I would be next, well next never came. After seeing 4 (YES 4) people go in, I decided I would inquire how much longer it would be. I was told I would first visit with a "teleadoc" then would be seen by a regular DR. My sweet lord how many people must the consumer see before the consumer gets what they came for. I am 63 I was guessing I would be 80 before I ever left the place with any glasses. The manager Monica should be ashamed. I WILL NEVER VISIT A DAVIS VISION CENTER EVER AGAIN. NO WAY to do business. I had a wonderful experience. Dr. Joy is literally a bundle of joy. She's takes her time out to explain everything and has no problem answering your questions or concerns. Kristine was very helpful and patient. I even picked out the wrong pair and she found a pair that fit my face perfectly. She even helped me save hundreds! And who doesn't like to save? I was very pleased with those two it made up for the bad experience I had with my son the day before we were there for two hours unattended. It took for my husband to walk in the back to ask for assistance. We left out of there very displeased. I was cautious with returning the very next day with my daughter but I received such a nice welcome the next day, it turned my frown upside down! Kudos to Dr. Joy and Kristine!!! Davis Visionworks has some good deals if your prescription is not too strong. Sometimes there is a long wait to see someone.

Large selection of frames. Store is bigger than other optical stores around me. However, most of the staff seem very unattentive. There were people in the back just sitting there and not doing anything. It also took them an hour to sort through my insurance and another half hour for someone to finally come and help me out with my purchase. The associate did not seem very attentive and informative with my options and budget. Won't be coming back for a second pair from here. read more

Waiting over an hour. I wonder if they would wait for me this long?? The doctor reluctantly puts the dilation drops in one of my daughter's eyes but refused to put them in my other daughter's. Not for medical reasons but because it was inconvenient. So she puts the drops in and sends her on her way without even waiting for her pupils to dilate. Her salesman (because that's all they really are there) tries to sell me some bs that some eye dilation drops don't need to have the pupils dilate to check them. Umm excuse me? They literally put the drops in and sent her home. The dr was more interested in selling me expensive contacts and non rx sunglasses. Very disappointed. read more

I have been going here for years. Not by choice but because it's the only place that accepts my insurance. It's a crap shoot as to whether or not you get a competent individual or some incompetent moron who, A: doesn't know how to do a proper eye exam or B: doesn't know how to transfer information from one piece of paper correctly to another. I got my yearly exam and I was told my prescription had not changed from the previous year. So that should be an easy order, right? WRONG! The idiot who wrote out the order wrote the left eye to be .5 stronger than the .25 it was supposed to be, making the prescription .75 instead of .25! Really?? I have to wait another 10 days because some dope writes 75 instead of 25?? Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this location. My guess is you won't find anything any better at any other location. It's sad how people don't give a shit anymore. read more

Everyone here really cares about you and give outstanding customer service.Kristin is absolutely amazing she is so fun and helpful all well being very professional. Doctors were very nice but their receptionist, smh she is nasty, rude, and snooty. Our appointment was 10:40 we came in 9 minutes late she checked us in at 10:51. we waited 20 mins to be seen and after, we waited an hour just to get seen by processed and still werent. So we went up to the receptionist to reschedule the appointment since they were soo busy. She decided to be snooty and tried to push us onto another man and he wasn't able to solve anything. We basically left in the end leaving our glasses behind, I turned to look inside and she watched us walk away. I also had another appointment before this and it took over forty mins to be seen which is why I had this one and now have ANOTHER ONE, im about to go onto THREE appointments. I love coming to this Visionworks location. I still remember the first time I started coming here three years ago: I was so happy that I was able to find a doctor (Dr. Joy) and workers (Joshua) that actually truly cared about my vision and didn't treat me like just another patient on their list. Dr. Joy is an amazing doctor who I wholly trust. So is it that not only do I see her, but so does my whole family (my parents and grandmother). Every time I see Joy, I have Josh help me out with my contact lens/glasses ordering. He's exceptional when it comes to giving advice and really does care about his customers. Horrible service! Went there for an appointment, there were total of 3 customers including me and yet it them 2 hours to finish my appointment. My insurance covers all, but still I ended up paying them $350 out-of-pocket for eye-exam, a pair of glasses, and only 3-month contact lenses supply. The glasses took one-week to be ready. I took another family member to Lens Crafters, got the same exact products, out-of-pocket was $140, name brand might I add, and was out of there in 45 minutes. The glasses would've been made right there, but it was closing time. Do NOT go to Davis Vision, they over charge and the service is atrocious, take your business to Lens Crafters and get your money's worth. read more

I have a eye plan, but even with the eye plan my sun glasses with no line bifocals cost over $200. I did not like how I was greeted at the store. I think they over charge at the store. The eye doctor spoke about himself through the whole exam. I didn't want to interrupt and get him mad, since he was going to look at my eyes, but he was very annoying. I'm not really sure what's going on here. I sometimes go to the Patchogue location and sometimes the Medford location. Last week I brought my son to the Medford one, I was told my insurance only covered frames up to &129.95 it's usually $149.95. So I picked out frames cheaper then I would have so it would be covered and asked for the lenses that transition to dark outside. They charged me $130. I usually pay $80. I kept questioning if the were correct about the insurance and they assured me it was. Then they gave me a really confusing break down of what the glasses would have cost and what insurance covered. I felt like I was being lied to. So a week later my daughter needs glasses, I now go to the Patchogue location, they're really nice there, and sure enough they tell me my insurance covers frames up to 149.95. What is going on? How can two locations give me such different information about my insurance plan and what they cover??? I'm really disappointed. read more

I moved out to Long Island so did an extensive search on somewhere I can get my eye glasses and contacts. I found Davis Vision online and despite negative reviews I decided to take a chance. I have to say both doctors are amazing and very knowledgeable. Joshua (I believe that's his name) helped me pick out my frames and was beyond patient. Not to mention was also able to offer advice on what would be best for me based on my chart. I didn't have to wait long to be seen (I had an appt) and all the staff there were very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend coming here! read more

I first went to Lenscrafters in Lake Grove and learned that they did not except my Health Insurance. I paid $169.00 for an eye exam for Glasses. I picked out a frame that I liked and with lenses was over $600.00 for 1 pair. I decided to wait and try Davis Visionworks in Medford and I am glad that I did. I found out they would have taken my insurance so the eye exam would have been free. Also my insurance paid 100% of 1 pair of glasses and they had a special that if I bought a second pair it was 50% off. SO I ended up with 2 pairs of glasses of the same quality for less than $500.00. They said that it would take around 2 weeks. In less than a week the first pair was in. I was supposed to have an appointment to be fitted but they were extremely nice and fitted me anyway. That pair wasn't fitted properly and wearing them was giving me a headache. So the next day I received another text that the second pair was in. I went there after work and again they were kind and let me wait to get fitted again. This time there was a gentleman there Joe Fisher. I have to say that I have never had a better fitting pair of glasses in my entire life that fitted as snug as Joe Fisher made them fit.He took around 20 minutes or so and adjusted every part of my glasses to the point where it felt like this pair was made only for me. When I put them on it's like they just snap right into place and fit perfectly. If you need your glasses adjusted Joe Fisher is the guy to get the job done with perfection. I started wearing contacts last year and this was my 2nd visit which was not a good experience. I made an appointment for my yearly follow up and Visionworks called me to change that appointment and I accommodated them even though it wasn't the best time for me. After checking in and waiting for 1 hour, I went up to the front desk to express my frustration (quietly) of waiting an hour and was met with an attitude saying "should I cancel your appointment?" like they were paying me to be there...to that I said "you guys changed my appointment which I'm accommodating" and was told by the attitude "my name is not you guys and I've canceled your appointment", not as it should be: let me go check to see what the hold up is and get you a time frame of how much longer it will be so you can then make a decision that's best for you, or I'm sorry for the delay, we've been extremely busy and are backed up, or anything that made me feel like I was the customer. I lived long enough (60yrs) and understand places get backed up and it's not always what you expect but what I do know is that customer service should be important and it wasn't here. I will say that the manager did call me after I left to apologize to me and offered to help me personally if I wanted to come back when attitude wasn't there. I will not be going back but appreciated the phone call and offer. read more

If you want glasses don't go here. I ordered mine over two weeks ago they are still not in yet. I can understand that some times shipping mistakes can happen. My glasses suposedly went to boston the first week. the next day when that shippment came in my gasses were still not in their. Now mind you that the glasses that on my face are broken and thats the reason for gettining the new ones. The guy that fitted me said he would put a rush on them and they would be here in three days at the very latest. Now two weeks later the only awncer i get is we will call you when they get here. i can theonly plus to this experiance is that the girls behind the desk were very nice and trid to help me out the bes they could. read more
