When we went to adopt a rescue dog my husband's only request was "no pugs or poodles". I had no problem with that...until I fell in love with the sweetest brown-eyed, cream and apricot pure bred poodle ever. And being a generous husband he allowed us to bring the dog home. I asked many groomers if they could give him a hair cut to make him look less like a poodle and I was met with blank stares and confused faces...and bad hair cuts. I finally brought him to Sherry, explained the situation, and she actually listened! She asked what kind of dog my husband preferred and when I told her he didn't mind west highland terriers she nodded and told me to come back in a few hours. When I came back to pick up our dog, there was this beautiful, long-legged, white sweetheart who looked like the most perfect blend of poodle and westie. Sherry has been our groomer ever since. She has also boarded for us occasionally and I swear our dog seems sad when we come to pick him up. TLDR; Sherry puts her heart and soul into the care of the dogs entrusted to her and we've never once been disappointed.

I'll preface this by saying the kennel owner is a very nice lady and after the incident I believe…read moreshe fired the person responsible, the kennel manager. I believe the owner genuinely cares about animals and what happened was something she won't let happen again. I'm sharing this in hopes that no one else let's the woman responsible (who I believe was fired after the incident) care for their pets. My dog was mauled at this kennel on September 20th due to gross negligence on the part of the kennel manager. According to the first specialist who saw our Pug, her eye was most likely gauged out on September 20th but she didn't receive care until the evening of September 21st. The vet was able to tell when the trauma occurred by the state of her infected eye and her infected cuts. Since our Pug was left for at least 24 hours without care her eye became severely infected and they had to take her into emergency surgery to remove the dead and infected tissue and graft part of the side of her eye to fill in the part that was gouged out during the attack. She ended up losing most of the vision in her right eye, and was left with bloody lacerations on her face, throat, and front legs. Perhaps the most disgusting part of this was that Tara J. Riley, the manager at Animal Kennel Care, didn't care for her or even tell me or my husband something had happened for 24 hours. We first learned something was wrong when we received a call from Tara on Sunday, September 21st. That afternoon she told us that after she returned from lunch she noticed our Pug's eye was 'a little puffy,' and asked us if we would like to pick her up and take her to the vet. We told her we were in Florida and asked if she could take her. She said she would get around to it. A couple hours later she called us again and told us "It's really not that serious, I don't want you to get too worried, she just has some swelling." Two hours later I called the emergency vet who told us that in 15 years of emergency medicine she hadn't seen an eye injury as severe as the one our Pug sustained. After talking to both the vets and the owner of the kennel, it was clear that Tara had lied to us. Ultimately the owner told us 'we will never really know what happened, but Tara should have had someone else look at it (the eye) on Saturday instead of just leaving her.' We have paid $3,500 in medical bills, not to mention the time I had to take off work. For the first couple weeks we had to give our Pug four kinds of prescription eye drops, three oral medications, and one topical medication for her cuts and sores. She needed to be tended to every two to four hours. Thankfully after surgery it looks as if her eye is accepting the graft she needed. Best case scenario is she will half some vision in the outside corner of her right eye, but will need to take drops twice daily and be monitored around other animals for the rest of her life.

Brought my doggo in for a little rash to test the waters. The male vet who saw us was nice. We liked him. I explained to him the predicament with my cat. She had cancer. She was end stage. I needed a regular vet established just in case we needed anything. Her rabies vaccine has lapsed the month prior. Her old vet and her oncologist agreed that at this point, what was the point of giving it to her. The doctor at MHAH agreed, said they would BE FINE SEEING HER THERE NO PROBLEM. Cut to a month later, I do need to bring her in. I also bring her in with our dog. Right off the bat, the nurse has an attitude. I understand the rabies vaccine is required. I always kept both my babies up to date on all their shots. I wouldn't have come with my cat if I had known that refusal of the rabies vaccine would be a non-starter. I didn't keep it secret, I asked in advance, twice. They ended up doing a half-ass checkup on my dog. Bedside manner of the nurse and doctor was atrocious. I drugged my cat for that visit and stressed her out in the car FOR NOTHING.

We told this…read moregroomer not to cut too much of his hair ,that he just needs a trim, nails and a bath. 10 hours later we picked up our dog shaved down to his skin, couldn't even recognize him. The only hair that was not cut is the tip of his tail which made him look ridiculous. She didn't even do the shave right, leaving longer and shorter splotches of hair all over the place. My daughter was picking up our dog and this "groomer" tried to convince her that he looks good. Even if he does look good(which he doesn't) I left specific instructions which she decided not to follow. He looks like he ran under a lawnmower. Never trimmed the hair between his toes. Didn't smell like he had a bath, and one of his nails was cut too short so he was bleeding all over the place. I don't even know what to say. What a nightmare.....Also Dude came home with a huge scrape on his ballsack.

And they refuse to pay for the surgery even tho their vet techs caused this life changing injury on my very young cat. I tried to handle it privately and take legal actions to have them reimburse me for the surgery and they denied. They also lied to me about the diagnosis of his injury by saying it was "genetic" as if he could have grown this genetic illness overnight immediately after seeing them ( in the same leg that they gave him an IV). Worst experience of my life and now my 4 year old cat has a bad leg and is absolutely terrified of the vet now.

No one could work me in as quickly as I wanted. I had been by Applewood Hospital recently and decided to call them. The receptionist was most helpful, and knowledgeable, and was able to get an appt the very next day. The small dog was in heat, and I wanted to go ahead and have her spayed even if she didn't stay with me. They booked an appt for when she would be going out of heat. The Doctor was kind, and explained they were a one Vet office, and they did pretty much everything in house, which was great with me. All were friendly.
